I used this company when selling my home. When Gary came out he said everything was fine. Then went over a second time before leaving and saw a little whole in the door jam and said its termites. I know this was not true as we caused the whole in the door jam. I agreed at the time to do the work since I was in process of selling my home and needed the completed report. One of my clients is a renter, and in the beginning of the year, moved from an apartment to a house. For the first time since he'd moved to California for college, he had difficulty with insects - finding ants near his sinks and tubs, etc. He asked me to find a pest control company to come take care of it. I called several companies over the span of a few days. Reliant Pest Control was the ONLY pest control company I seriously considered hiring - I didn't bring several to the table for the client to choose as I have with other service providers. Instead, I told him about Reliant's reviews, the knowledgeable administrative staff, and their availability. He agreed, so I scheduled an appointment immediately. Gary from Reliant came out and did an initial inspection, treating for ants and other creepy crawlies along the way. And then, he noticed something amiss ... termites. My client became immediately concerned and contacted his landlord regarding the pest problem. The landlord did not want to have the house treated in the way Gary suggested, so my client looked for alternatives. Eventually, he just moved out of the house. What we REALLY appreciated was that Reliant continued to follow up with us to make sure everything was okay and on track. And when I asked them to give us time to get my client moved into his new place, then to call me to see about future pest control, they called me right on schedule (I had it in my calendar to settle within the next two weeks). I made an appointment with the friendly girl in their office and they were able to send someone within the next day. Gary was great! He was personable, professional, and honest when we went around the house for a thorough inspection. He even invited me to join him on the inspection. Along the way, he pointed out some helpful things I could do around the house to better protect it from the elements. He even gave me tips on how to keep the feral cats in the neighborhood off my property, which was a bonus. At the end of the inspection, Gary gave me a realistic view of what needed to be done (a spot treatment on drywood termites, no tenting necessary). Honestly, I couldn't go to another company. I'd had Terminix and Western in the past, and they're so, I dunno... Workin' off a playbook; they're not personal. To start, I needed just a one-time seasonal killing of ants. Everyone wanted to charge me $2-300 for a one time service, unless I signed a contract. I don't need a contract. I need(ed) ants to cease to exist. Reliant was almost half the price, AND that included a follow up spray. Not only that, the people on the phone have a brain. I mean, they can explain various options without a script, unlike Terminix and Western. Then, I needed a termite inspection for a house re-fi, and they gave me like a 30% discount for being a repeat customer. Furthermore, they were going to combine a follow-up visit with the termite inspection, the bug guy who came out sprayed for ants, but forgot the termite inspection. WTH??? Well, I called the office, explained the problem and they were all over it! Gary, the owner and fellow Navy vet, came to my house to personally apologize and do the inspection. If you are looking for an honest and competent company to do termite treatment then Reliant Pest Control should be at the top of your list to contact. We recently moved in to this house in West Valley (Dec 2013). The house we moved in to, was built in 1969 and was recently remodeled. Everything seems great. However, upon moving in my wife accidentally discovered a termite issue in one of the rooms - in wooden book? bottom shelves built into the wall. We know from the Yelp reviews that Reliant Termite is the top company for termite remediation and we called them to check the problem. We spoke with Bianca who is very nice and she scheduled Gary to check the termite issue. Gary who is an impressive looking gentleman and who happens to also be the owner, came by and inspected the termites and recommended a termite treatment to take care of the problem. Gary is a really nice person, very honest and forthright and he immediately put our concerns to rest. He also is a fun guy to talk football with (his team is the Falcons - sorry Gary) :-) and pests and termite remediation are his company's specialty. He discussed the termite problem and even educated us on where these termites could have come from and how they survive. He sent in one of his termite specialists (Tim) who came in on time at 9:30AM and did a fantastic job with the termite treatment. Based on what I saw, I think the termites were A-bombed out of their existence! Tim did a very professional and thorough job. I'm writing this long review because I wanted to give a good testimony with respect to my experience with Gary and Tim and Reliant Pest Control and that they are honest, competent and very professional and you would do well to hire them for any termite remediation. Best customer service! We had rats in our walls and mites in our house. Found Reliant on Yelp. Kini came out quickly and took care of our rat problem - which was a big problem! Gary himself came out on second occasion, set more traps, and we got all the rats and our lives got back to normal. No more gnawing and scratching inside our walls. When calling up Reliant, I spoke with Lisa who was wonderful to talk to and helped me immediately. These guys move quickly to solve the problem and are great to deal with. I called them to take care of an "uninvited house guest" that comes during the night and keeps chewing holes on our dog food and doggy treat bags. They arrived the same day and evaluated my problem. I already knew where the critter's entry and exit passage was located so i show their technician Kini. He placed steel mesh over and around it and a couple traps for insurance. It's been 5 days now and so far no more visits from our "guest". Kini guaranteed it would not be able to chew thru the steel mesh and special adhesive he used. They charged me $150 and i don't know if that is really reasonable or not based on actual services rendered but Kini said it is. read more

I had another pest company come to my house to assess what I thought was a potential problem. They informed me that I had termites, and that they'd have to drill holes into my walls to get rid of them. It was going to cost several hundred dollars. I decided to get another estimate for the work, and so Gary (the owner) came over to do an inspection. To my complete surprise, he said that I did not have termites! Crickets area apparently the problem I asked him if he was sure, and he explained to me the difference in the droppings. He said I didn't have any issues and no work needed to be done (he has 20+ years of experience in the business). Similar to what other reviewers have said, I think Gary is truly an honest guy with complete integrity. It would have been easy for him to sell me some service to make money, as I clearly wouldn't have known any better. This company will call you the day before to remind you of your appointment. Then they will also send you a text reminding you. However, when they are running over an hour behind for an early morning appointment (people gotta get to work you know), they won't bother to let you know. Time Warner Cable has better communication and they are horrible. I thought long and hard about giving a bad review to this business. She said she would see if they could get someone out to look at it the same day but couldn't promise anything. I did not have to wait long on the phone she got it all worked out for Gary to come out that day and transferred me over to Nancy to take down my information. I wasn't on the phone for more than 3 minutes and they were very friendly, very polite, and very quick. Called yesterday to set up an inspection. Confirmed a time frame and then had to call back 10 minutes later to reschedule because of work. Confirmed a new time for 8-9AM where the woman said closer to 8AM was a strong reality since I would be the first appointment of the day. I happily obliged and thank her for her time. Today, 9AM rolls around. I call Reliant and was told I misheard yesterday and that my window was actually between 8AM-10AM. I am positive that I heard correctly because how would I have an appointment around 10AM if I was in fact going to be the first customer of the day? She said that a technician would be to my house within 30 minutes. At 9:20AM, I get a call from the technician saying he is still about 30 minutes out. What this disorganization says to me is that Reliant believes their time is more valuable than mine. Pest control is already such an annoying task to deal with. I would never work with a company who doesn't respect my schedule and their own word. read more
