Breads are baked fresh in house and the menu offerings consist of: handcrafted sandwiches, soup, salads, flatbreads, and even has a kid's menu. Purchases: * HAM & TURKEY [on honey wheat bread] * PASTRAMI REUBEN [on sourdough] Sandwiches are made on sourdough bread by default and includes house spread, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mustard, & cheese. Customizations are welcome. Sandwiches were good and very filling. The only complaint on my end was the shredded lettuce that made for messy eating- I would have preferred whole leaves. Honey wheat isn't recommended if you plan on eating your sandwich later- this bread is softer and will become soggy quite quickly. 4 stars. The bread to protein ration is fair, food is tasty, and the staff was kind. I'd say this was a good first experience.

Food ordered: Grilled Chicken Sandwich (4/5) The grilled chicken sandwich was good. Instead of cut chicken, it had shredded chicken that was tender and not too saucy or salty, which was good but I would've liked it a little more interesting. Anyways, you can choose between a Small or Regular size for the bread (different pricing), and the bread itself was delicious since it was light on the inside but had that pretzel like exterior that made it not too crunchy and crumbly as some bahn mi baguettes can have. Violet Matcha (5/5) This drink features taro foam on top, and it was so good! A nice bonus was the server was proactive and input a combo code at the register to save us $2, which was nice. Ambiance & Amenities: There are only a couple of tables inside, but it has a fun bread-centric photo spot if you want to snap a quick picture. They also have a convenient water station available for guests. Overall: We really enjoyed our experience here. The service was kind and attentive, and the food satisfied out cravings. Would come again if I wanted a bahn mi and fun drink! The drink menu is quite extensive!

I ordered the Godfather, which is supposed to be their specialty, and it was very disappointing. The meats seemed old, extremely fatty, and so chewy that I was unable to swallow them. Every meat on the sandwich was fatty, including the mortadella, which was unusually greasy and unlike anything I've seen before. The texture made the sandwich very unpleasant to eat. It also made me question whether the meats had been stored properly, though I can't say for sure. The bread was average and didn't seem very fresh either. Maybe going later in the day means the ingredients have been sitting too long, but either way, this sandwich was difficult to enjoy and ended up in the trash.

Small town, family owned Italian Deli, I'll take these over any chain sandwich shop including all…read morethose modern/trendy sourdough themed shops that are opening up errrywhere. Hence why I stopped here one warm late afternoon despite having lots of food options in this downtown-y area. The Godfather ($15ish/5*) When I first try a deli I will usually try their Italian combo. It's a classic sub I love but honestly I find it hard to find an above average one. I'm not sure if the art of making one has been lost, but within the last decade or so, I strike out more than I get hits. Usually the meat to bread to produce ratio is off. Sometimes the meats are too salty/poor quality. Other times the sauce/dressing flavor is off. I am so stoked that I found a legit one here. They use prosciutto, mortadella and salami here, all my faves. I hate when a place uses American ham/cheese on an Italian sub. And all the meats are of quality, not too salty at all. Provolone was the cheese, textbook. I chose a sourdough roll and even though requires a good amount of teeth strength to bite off a piece and to chew, it was pretty damn satisfying. The interior is soft yet chewy. They definitely use a solid bread company. The bites were what I consider to be classic Italian sub flavors. No curve balls like pesto, red peppers or strong mustard. Just quality meats with great textures, fresh produce dressed in oil n' vinegar so it taste like a good salad. And the kicker that pleasantly surprised me were chunks of marinated artichoke hearts so this made you feel like biting into an antipasto platter just in sandwich form. So Damn Solid. Italian Sausage Sandwich ($15ish/4*). Even though solid I didn't love this as much as the cold sub. They ask what type of sausage mild or hot Italian. Chose hot, no surprise. They said this will take longer to make, like about 10 minutes. I chose a regular sweet French roll for this. Not as chewy as the sourdough roll, much softer but still has body. I liked the flavors of warm marinara with their unique sausage, quite classic once again. But the sausage they use is super thick like twice as thick as a common Italian sausage link. They do split it so it covers the bread but that sausage is one of the firmest textures I've ever had for a sausage. Sausage by nature because of the grind usually bites easily. Not here, I had to bite so hard that the meat couldn't stay in the bread. I think the casing was unusually tough for some reason. I eventually peeled it off. Decent flavors but problematic to eat cleanly. $35+ (after T&T) for 2 sandwiches seems pricey but really it is the new reality. 10 years ago this would have been about $20ish. Welcome to the new world order. Lol

The new line control and ordering setup was pretty confusing when walking in. And with how popular this place gets, it can feel even more cramped because of the way they want the lines to form. There are also these big menu signs for the deli side, but unless you're standing right in front of them to order, it's pretty hard to get a good look. The line dividers and people waiting in line block the view. I have yet to actually order from the deli, though, so I guess that gives me something to try next time! Roger's is a local spot for me, so I'll definitely still stop by whenever I need my donut fix. I'll be back, but I'm not sold on the new setup yet.

TLDR: Excellent Fried Chicken!…read more I was just chatting with my friend about picking up Chik-Fil-A for dinner one night, and he suggested Chicken G. There's one in Fremont, but also on in Mountain View, which isn't too far from me. So on a different night, I decided to give this place a try. Short answer: it's REALLY good! Long answer: It's a very very small place. It's got that 80's vibe to it... it's like Falafel Drive-In but with chicken! The staff was nice... although it seemed like there was only 1 front-of-the-house ( I couldn't see in the back). And he was doing EVERYTHING... preparing the food, packaging it up, taking orders.... And it wasn't like the place was super busy at 7:30p on a Thursday. In fact, no one was in front of me, but I still had to wait 5 minutes or so for him to take my order. But finally the order was fired up, and he immediately told me it will take about 15 minutes, because everything is made fresh. Nice! I kinda lost track doom-scrolling, so I peeked my head up every once in a while. I guess he thought I was being impatient, but he assured me, 5 more minutes... Eventually, he called me over, and I took the thing home. Keep in mind, with traffic... it took about 30 min to get home. So the food was getting a little cool. But it was still VERY crunchy, and tasty. My wife immediately took a bite and said it was SO GOOD. She had the 2 tenders and a side (french fries), while I had the chicken burger. The burger was HUUUUGE. I yielded and got a knife to cut the thing in half so I could eat it properly. Even though it was 30 min... the chicken was still super crispy and had a nice satisfying crunch. It blew CFA out of the water, tbh. Tho I still love CFA! Anyway, this place is really really good. It does 1 thing and does it super well. I'd like to try it again, but eat it there fresh and see if that makes a difference. As it stands, I'm struggling to think of a place better than this.
