Great location; right behind the dunes at the beach. Maybe 6-8 parking spaces so you might have to park elsewhere and walk. Very beachy atmosphere! Clean! Lovely and attentive servers. Calamari appetizer was perfect with best cocktail sauce and my daughter enjoyed her chicken gyro. My fried shrimp didn't have much flavor and was slightly overcooked. The coleslaw had zero flavor so I wouldn't choose that side again. I would go back but would order something different. Give it a try! read more

If you're looking for the perfect beach side restaurant then Beachcombers is where you need to be. It's literally where the good food and refreshing cocktails meet the sun sand and surf! A perfect combination for a fun afternoon or delightful evening. It was such a wonderful experience I'm not sure where to begin, except to say in our 4 day vacation in St.Augustine and with all the cool places to dine we ate here twice in 4 days. The entire team worked so well together. Hostess with the servers, and the servers with the bartender and kitchen. Very cool to watch. All the servers were awesome and always smiled and cheerful. For me that's kinda a big thing. It puts the salt on the Margarita! Lol For appetizers the basket of Steamed Shrimp is definitely the way to go! Specialty marinated and spices made this such a tasty starter. For the mains the Oysters Po Boy with Red Beans and rice was amazing. Huge oysters and plenty of them! Also the coconut shrimp was crispy and tender on the inside and with the Orange Marmalade Horseradish Dipping Sauce made it amazing. Oh and the Chocolate bourbon cake to top it all off was simply delicious. A good find for causal eats. read more

Exactly what you would want from an establishment on the beach. Yummy drinks, waitress was attentive and sweet. Parking can be tough there but one of you sacrifices to wait on a car, while the other goes and grabs a corona or two. We love coming here every year. The vibe is always relaxed and fun. read more

We recently visited St. Augustine Beach and based on the Yelp reviews decided to go to Beachcomber during our time there. We chose Beachcomber because they had many food options on their menu and it was dog friendly, of course we took our 3yo Chihuahua furbaby. It's right off the beach, so there will be sand lol which was fine. Though I didn't go inside Beachcomber reminded me of a place out of a movie, the set up, staff,!the weather was good pretty good.... There was an area outside with higher chairs, almost bar like, there were also wooden benches, larger and smaller, depending of course on the party size. There were outdoor ceiling fans posted up. The hostess was friendly, gave our pup some water. The waitress was attentive, got our order right, and checked on us throughout. The food was solid, my husband got a burger and fries and he mentioned it was very good. I got gator bites and a Caesar salad, both very good, I actually took some of the gator back to the hotel, it was extremely good, with this sauce that had a little sweetness to it, enhancing the overall flavors. Parking ; there is a lot right outside, it's small but we got a space. When in St. Augustine we will be sure to visit Beachcomber again, maybe next time we can dine in. My favorite spot on the beach. As much beach as we have here in Florida there aren't a lot of restaurants ON the beach. This place literally is next to a sand dune. Great craft cocktails and delicious beers on tap. Hubby got the Buffalo shrimp Poboy sandwich- delish but kinda a lot of bread and hard to eat. I got the fried fish of the day wrap- yummy! read more

It's on the beach! It's small, and the apps that we had were fine. It's kind of what you'd expect from a beach shack restaurant. The beer was cold, lots of fried options along with seafood, and sand between your toes. We grabbed beers and some calamari. The calamari was chewy and over fried. We also got the Italian option, which meant they just threw banana peppers on time and sprinkled some parm. I wouldn't order it again, but might try some other items. The bathroom and the walk to the bathroom left something to be desired - and a "hold your breath" as you walk past what, I assume was, the grease traps (my kid decided she'd rather hold it than go). You come here because it's a beach shack restaurant and that's what you expect. read more

Had lunch there today and sat outside in the warm sunshine. Will, our waiter was such a personable guy and did a great job of taking care of us. I had the fish tacos and potato salad. My friend had the flounder sandwich. She liked hers and mine was delish. Huge too. I could split it the next time I go, which will be soon, with my husband! Yummy! What a beachside treat. My friend and I picked a beer from an eclectic draft beer collection. They did not disappoint. We both had fresh trigger sandwiches. Found the joint on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. First, it is directly beside the beach. Second, they can park about 8 cars and they are tight. Third, inside is kinda small for seating but it's decent outside. So be prepared to be bumped a bit depending on where you sit. Well, our server was a little dry but she did a good job. The food was delivered timely and at a nice temperature. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they got. I got the chicken sandwich with fries. Not bad... The Beachcomber is just off of the beach in St. Augustine. It looks like your run of the mill shack that's just waiting for the next hurricane to wash it out to see, but it looks to have persevered for a long time. As I waited my 45 min wait for a table my friend and daughter went walking and I sat in the middle of the bar. With 2 couples on each side of me and a great Bartender I started to have a time! Everyone was so talkative and friendly and really HaPpY. :) My table finally came up in the patio so I moved out with my company and enjoyed the best fish n chips I have had in a while. My end result was this stop made my day. So this is our second time attempting to go to this restaurant. The first time we just could not find parking. The parking is truly embarrassing, but it's in such a great spot. You can definitely walk here. Anyway, after waiting about 15 minutes, we got a table that was in the sand. That was kind of cool I guess. Our waitress name was Kim I think and she was very good. Very attentive and made sure all six of us had everything we needed. Service was very fast drinks and entrées and I was actually pretty surprised. I had the trigger fish and it was outstanding. The potato salad was trashcan. Lol. Let me rephrase, potato salad was just not my style, but everything was pretty good. Also spicy clam chowder. Everyone seem to enjoy their meals and no one had any complaints. Other than parking in which we walked and the potato salad that I should not have ordered in the first place , this place gets five stars from me. No issues. read more

Another great meal at Beachcomber! IMO, this very casual, beachy restaurant has the best food on these local beaches. Unfortunately, the first two menu items I ordered tonight they ran out of (Covina sandwich and Salmon BLT). I opted to go to my old standby, the fish Reuben sandwich, as it is always excellent. Side of their totally awesome dill potato salad and an extra side of red beans & rice rounded out the meal. They have a decent craft beer offering as well. Hard to beat a restaurant on the beach, in the sand. It is mostly outdoor seating, but basically all covered or with an umbrella so you don't have to be in the direct sun. In the winter they have large heaters if it's chilly. Beware - wait times here can be long (don't come here starving); when they say it's an hour wait, they mean it. You can get drinks at the bar and grab a high top chair or stand on the sidewalk/street outside. I always do something with the fish of the day - the plate entree, the sandwich, the Reuben. It's always a good price for an entree, plenty of food. I've never been amazed wow'ed by the fried shrimp, the hush puppies, or the appetizers. I like the veggie side and beans/rice. Really nice staff here! They are busy! Note - there is limited parking. Bike or walk if you can! read more

Our food came out right after the shrimp did our table wasn't very big so we had to scramble to keep everything out of the sun (half the table was in the sun). The Ahi Tuna Tacos were good. They had a ton of seaweed on them. That took away from the delicious sauce and tuna. The red beans and rice were also very flavorful. The po'boy shrimp were lightly breaded and the tarter sauce was great! THE FRIES THO... super crispy and just great fries. The drinks were good- the smash was very sweet and rum heavy. My mojito was tasty, no heat in the jalapeños, but a delicious combo. Definitely check them out if you are in the area! read more

What a gem! We found this spot by accident but glad we did. It's basically a "seafood shack" right on the beach. However, don't expect grand views of the water as there are dunes blocking the view. But it's still a wonderful setting. Our server was polite and attentive. The food was super fresh and delicious. I had the giant Ruby red shrimp and blackened wahoo. Great Fresh Seafood : fried shrimp were a good size ,not greasy ,very tender and juicy ! Crab cake was delicious and a generous size portion and the Oysters were simply magnifique! While walking barefoot down the beach, my friend said that there was a restaurant just off the beach. We stopped in and were seated at a table outside in the sand. When asked if we needed shoes, the hostess said "absolutely not". It was so cool to sit with our feet in the sand. I ordered a local brewery red ale. It was very good. I also had grouper tenders and a cup of seafood chowder. Both were amazingly delicious. My friend had Minorcan clam chowder. It had just the right amount of spice and was tasty. The food was very good, both in quantity and quality. Liliana was our waitress and was extremely nice. Location is close to the beach. The Indoor seating and parking is limited. A portable hand held credit card reader is used in lieu of a paper bill. The device only showed a final bill total, which you pay and then you have an option to have the receipt sent electronically or printed. Not a fan of these devices because it makes it harder to see details of what you are being charged for ahead of your payment unless you ask, but it does have its benefits of a speedie process. read more

Stopped in and felt like we were at home. We are from Ohio and even though we kick Penn State's butt every year. A local gentleman greeted us with love and a smile.
