This is our most favorite place to come every year. Great crab cakes- drinks- atmosphere and the staff is fast and friendly! A must!

Cocktails were good. Hush puppies very dry. I had coconut shrimp and it was nothing to write home about. Another member of our party had the fried shrimp and loved it. The stuffed fish with a crab cake in it was delicious. read more

Great place on the beach! Parked right next to the restaurant and we're no more than 20 steps from the sand. We ate outside because we had a party of 6. Our servers name was Lily (or Lillie, not sure the spelling) but she was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable with the menu! Our party of 6 ordered a little bit of everything (gator tail, crab ravioli, calimari, rainforest wrap, shrimp dinner, fish dinner) and it was all tasty. The burger I got was cooked perfectly (medium-well) and the fried egg to top it off was probably one of the best I've ever had! Spending the day on the beach, we walked up to have lunch at the Beachcomber. Frankie the bartender was great with some suggestions. We started with the Coconut Shrimp and then split a the El Loco burger. It was large and tasty. We had fries for the side and they were great. Location is great, if you are on the beach. There is outdoor seating/standing while waiting for a table, and seating for food indoors and out. The menu is standard beach fare, but I think the food is definitely better than "standard". We had conch fritters, which were clearly made locally, and split a fish sandwich. Again, clearly made on-site with local fish. The fish was flavorful and cooked nicely, I was really impressed. They have a decent beer selection and plenty of cocktails. I opted for a margarita (couldn't taste the tequila, but tasty otherwise) and it fit nicely with the sand on my feet and the sound of the ocean just past the dune. I could sit here all day. She Said: He had to run back to the hotel while we waited for our table, so I sat at the bar for my first drink of the night. I love this place. You see, I staggered off the beach on a blazingly hot August day into this place for an ice cold pitcher of beer back in 2003 before I had the means to live here. Back then, the massive dune that shields much of the beach view today was not there. It was a flat run to the shore...but I digress. I'm pleased to say that the beer has only improved. They've added plenty of crafts to their list, it's still as cold. The proximity to the beach is still the key, regardless of the dune's obstruction. The renovation of the shack is nicely done too. But the real story here is the food. I've had quite a few of their menu items and I'd say the Shipwreck Burger and the Ahi Tuna Tacos are worth a try. I also like the Minorcan chowder, although it's not the best in town. This place is a must stop on when on the beach. Service is good, prices are reasonable and the food is very good. read more

And barely 3 stars. Clearly this place is about location location location! And this is the only reason I gave it even 3 starts. Otherwise it be a 2 star. It has THE best spot there is less 1 big wave waiting G-d forbid to wipe it out. Let's hope not. It literally sits on the start of the beach ramp at A street, hence the motto, where A street meets the beach. Well that couldn't be truer. Has small front area you can stay outside if you come at the right time and it's not too crowded. Good luck parking there is a tiny lot next to it. Same with the inside. Been a few times now. Honestly the few food items we've tried are nothing to write home about & not worth going back for honestly. Once we went in it was so busy. We somehow got a spot at the bar which takes up most of the room after someone left and bar tender shouted there was 1 line on far other side by the door to get a drink. Little confusing as we're at the bar & should be waited on by bar tenders going around. I feel bad for the servers trying to walk around serving food when it's that busy. read more

Such a fun little spot! Good food, great service and awesome vibes right on the beach. Must walk, no parking unless you ride your bikes. Right at the beach access on A. We stopped in for a cold one and apps after riding our bikes from the hotel! They have plenty of outdoor seating with fans and indoor if it's too hot! Jennifer our server was so sweet and made us feel right at home! All the apps we had were on point (avocado ranch with the egg rolls was awesome, Calamari was super fresh with light breading and Buffalo mahi mahi bites were the tables fav) and the perfect mid day snack! Fun restaurant! Very family friendly. The staff are helpful and professional. The food is delicious! Expect to wait. It's very popular and there is very little parking. My only complaint is the bathrooms need a lot of attention. Quite and unpleasant experience. Overall id recommend it and we will definitely return if we are in town! read more

This place is definitely more pedestrian/bicycle friendly-- parking is a nightmare, and only further complicated by the employee who was outside "helping" guide cars in and out of the lot. Parties over six (we were 8) have to sit outside, but the deck had ceiling fans and was well shaded so pretty comfortable even in 95° heat. The service staff was much more friendly than the parking attendant, and food was all very good. I wouldn't recommend this if you're driving around looking for a place to eat-- but it seems like an awesome spot to walk to lunch on a beach day! read more

Walked over beachside on a very breezy December weekday for lunch. Ate inside in the bar area. Ordered shrimp pita and the blackened Mahi sandwich, both of which were specials. They were fresh and delicious. The fries were standard but well cooked and the dill cucumber potato salad was a hit. Finished with a slice of authentic key lime pie, just like you get in Key West. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant because of its fun location and the children's play area we saw online. Unfortunately, the play area was nowhere to be found when we arrived, though that was fine. We were seated promptly, and our server, Russell, was very nice. We started with some happy hour drinks and appetizers. The gator tail appetizer was decent, but the wings were almost rubbery. My wife had a poke bowl, but the rice was both watery and hard, and it lacked flavor. The only thing we somewhat enjoyed were the fries. Even our toddler didn't like the fried shrimp, which was also rubbery. Russell did remove the wings from our check, which we appreciated, but overall, the quality of the food was really disappointing, especially as newcomers to the area. It's hard to believe we spent so much on such poorly prepared food. The back of the restaurant near the restrooms smelled like dead animals. read more

Location! Location! Location!! They aren't lying when they say they are on the beach! There is a ton of outside seating, inside there is bar and hightop table seating. Fun decor and great happy buzz to the place. The staff is ON POINT. Our little gal server was new and I gotta say she did a great job. Very attentive. The gator tail was absolutely perfectly cooked and the portion size was pretty substantial. I'm not a Manhattan style chowder person but wanted to try their take on it and it was really good. I wasn't disappointed. Their shrimp were LAEGE, I had a half pound and again they did a great job cooking them. The gyro... good lord folks! Was huge! The beef and lamb were super tender and had really good flavor. The fries! Crispy and cooked right!! These are some of my favorite kind, I call them 'tavern fries' because they have that slight batter. Ugh. So good. The margarita.... guys.... I could drink this all day. Outstanding flavor. Excellent lunch place next to beach! The fish sandwich was fantastic. The calamari appetizer was the largest portion we have ever seen. Heavily breaded calamari with Parmesan, but very tasty. Fish and chips was also a good sized portion with large pieces of fish. The fish tacos were the least exciting of what we ordered - fish was fresh and grilled well but served on flour taco with cabbage and crema, it was a bit bland.
