Unfortunately, this restaurant was arguably one of the worst dining experiences in Baltimore. They have an ordering system where you fill out a paper with your selected options, but then nobody reads the papers. It took 45+ minutes for my food to get made and I was the only order in at that time, with just one employee who was not actively doing anything. Then, the shrimp were small, and all of the food was doused in sauce that overpowered any other flavors. I do not recommend this place - there are plenty of great alternative in R House. read more

My family ordered meals yesterday at the stall two doors down from Be.Bim, but they did not have spoons and we needed one plastic spoon so that we could share some of our rice with our 11 month old baby. Due to varying menus, not all of the stalls in R.House provide plastic spoons, but they kindly recommended that I stop by Be.Bim to ask for a spoon since they knew that they had them. I asked the employee at Be.Bim for a singular, plastic spoon and was told "they're for customers only". We're talking about one, singular plastic spoon that is bought in bulk and there were hundreds of them behind the counter. This is embarrassing customer service and by saving themselves the unfathomable cost of giving away one singular plastic spoon, they lost the business of several members of our party of 8 who came to R.House for lunch. There is no excuse - regardless of your thoughts on the cost to operate a small business, denying someone ONE PLASTIC SPOON to feed a BABY in a shared community such as R.House is embarrassing and says a lot about the core business practices of Be.Bim. Absolutely disgusting. Not only is Be.Bim's reputation tarnished in our party's opinion, but its apparently a shared thought among other vendors at R.House. Shout out to Taharka Bro's Ice Cream in R.House who happily gave us an entire handful of spoons when we asked as we laughed off this situation :-) read more

Today I paid $17 for a very disappointing salmon bowl. The portion size was paltry beyond belief. The bowl was barely two-thirds full and looked like the ingredients were just tossed in without care. The woman on the phone said the food was being brought right out, but it never actually came until I called back ten minutes later, after which point it arrived immediately. Be.bim is my favorite spot in R House. The portion size is quite filling so you get your money's worth. I usually get the spicy beef belly bowl with wild rice. Everything is so done so efficiently and since there's usually isn't a line, you get your food and payment done within 2 minutes. It is perfect for on the go. The spice level is very manageable without compromising flavor. The sauces add the best finishing touch to a delicious meal. read more

Tried this place when I was at R house the other day. I haven't been to any of the other places though so can't compare. I thought this was pretty good, but not outstanding. I got the pork belly bowl which allowed you to build a bowl a la chipotle. I do like that they have 2 sizes for bowls so if you are starving you can get a larger bowl. I have never had bibimbap before so I wasn't really sure how or what to order, but I went with a salmon teriyaki bowl and was pretty satisfied with it. You order a meat or seafood and then choose the type of rice, vegetables, and sauce you want in the bowl. I don't really like kimchi, so I skipped that (I know, blasphemy when eating Korean food), but the eggplant was really delicious! I was surprised to find that the vegetable toppings were all cold (not sure if this is normal for this dish), but everything kind of came to a lukewarm temperature once I mixed it up with the rice and the salmon. Overall I found the bowl to be pretty yummy, and I might order it again. I also ordered a side of pork dumplings that were just okay. The prices were quite expensive, but consistent with everything else in R. House and it was a large portion size. read more

(3/15/2017) Went nuts in our first visit to R House, the new "eat-porium" in Remington. Place is a renovated auto showroom (Anderson's), gorgeous, new industrial chic kind of way. Love the different niches to suit different dining styles and sizes (little chairs for little people), including booths, cafeteria-style, bar-style facing no one so you don't have to make small talk, and crawl around spaces (for little or big kids). About a dozen or so stalls to start with some incubator/pop-up mini-stalls. Got a Spicy Pork Bibimbap to go for dinner later (having just gorged ourselves on offerings from BRD, Hilo, and White Envelope already). Opted to fry my own egg at home rather than cough up the $1.25 for them to fry it for me. The Chipotle-style build-your-own bowl concept was easy enough and the customization is great for picky eaters. Maxed out my free number of toppings with Napa cabbage kimchi, mung bean sprouts, fried eggplant, shredded carrots, Brussels slaw. Got the classic gochujang sauce. Was a pretty decent bowl, which is expected from the folks who own the Brown Rice restaurants (not sure why they wouldn't keep the name here). The Mandu were delicious, handmade fried dumplings, chewy and crisp wrappers with savory fillings and sweet potato noodles. The pork filled ones were more savory and seasoned than the ground duck that we tried. Rent in the place must be pretty high, partly you're paying for new renovations and fueling the gentrification of Remington, but the prices seemed to suitable, and we did really enjoy the food and atmosphere. read more

This is both the most expensive and worst bibimbap I have ever had. The price was $16.50 for beef bibimbap in a hot stone bowl. For comparison, I believe jong kak nearby charges about $11. The bibimbap tasted like lighter fluid. Neither my wife nor I could eat more than a few bites. It was actually a little scary in that it tasted possibly toxic. My wife was concerned and addressed it with one of the workers. He took back our mostly full bowl but didn't offer a refund or any other explanation other than that he's had that complaint before and believes it is just the sauce. As there are plenty of other good Korean options in the city I would highly recommend that others go elsewhere. read more

Service was very friendly, and the smoked tofu bowl seemed healthful. The dish was very smoky, so probably not great for a vegetarian who's afraid of things reminding them of meaty flavors. The hot sauce was also really good. Unfortunately they don't have free tap water, though they did have a lot of drinks for sale. Apparently this is the more protein-focused version of it's sister restaurant, Brown Rice. This is within R. House, which is really cute, kind of like Union Market in DC. It was pretty delicious and flavorful, but they give you a very small amount of meat. It may have been 1/3 cup of beef...if that. So, I'd change that. I was surprised to find a nice food court in the middle of Remington. Be.bim is located inside R house food court. I tried their ddek bok ki platter (spicy rice cake). It's about $11 which is high but it is more like a combination between stir fried squid dish and rice cake with a nice kale salad topping and I enjoyed it. Never been to their other locations of brown rice on Charles or in Mt Vernon marketplace but def stop at any, it won't disappoint. This is unfortunate, so let me explain. I've had their Spicy Ramen Soup and Bebimbap and enjoyed them enough to have come back for a third time in eight days. I ordered the Hot Stone Bowl today and was not impressed. The rice on the bottom of the bowl was burned, about 1/4 inch, and had a really funky burned plastic smell and taste. The guy I told said it was supposed to be like that, so I gave him the bowl back and was not asked if I wanted to order anything else or wanted my money back. Today was my first visit to the R House and I have to say the whole experience was amazing. I got the spicy pork with pickled cabbage, sprouts, etc and the spicy sauce and it was super authentic and rather tasty. If you go, I suggest the multigrain rice. The only thing staff should do is change the way they serve the "proteins" as they call them. Instead of having them ready in warming stations they should prepare them while you wait; it wouldn't take that long and the customer would receive hot and even more fresh, for example, pork over the traditionally cold veggies instead of a luke warm product. I'll admit that I was late in saying "oh this will be takeout" but the way of how he just dumped it into the "carry-on" turned me off. The chicken was dry, and they served it out of a rice pot which made me think it was cooked earlier and just continually heated throughout the day which would explain the dryness. I recently tried the ramen and it was a very bad experience. I've had another dish that my husband ordered from this restaurant prior and it was good (some of the sauces are delicious). The broth of the ramen, however, tasted like water with no flavor at all. I visited this establishment on Monday evening, 4/10/17. I wanted the beef bulgogi, but could not have it due to cross contamination with other meats. This should have been my red flag. Different tongs are supposed to be used to practice food safety. So I opted for fresh cooked pan salmon. The food was tasteless, even with adding extra sauce which was just cold, watery, and sunk to the bottom. Mushrooms taste like rubber. The rice was hot at one point, but once the ice cold veggie toppings and cold bulgogi sauce were added, that changed. The staff were polite, including the inappropriatley dressed young woman whose entire bra was exposed from the sides of her shirt. There could not have been a manager present as the staff were disorganised and there were workers handling money, and handling food without washing hands. I wanted to like this place, but too many errors were made and the bland food to top it off. There were four of us, who all had different menu items, two of us got sick after eating our meals.
