I recently returned to Heritage Smokehouse and it was better than it's ever been before. Don't get…read moreme wrong, it's not like it was ever not good. But I do think the sauces and sides have been lackluster in the past. Not this time! I was pleasantly surprised to see about five or six different sauce options including an absolutely incredible "White Lightning" sauce. SO good! I remember in the past there being literally just BBQ, hot sauce, and mustard so it's nice to see there being more of a variety. The sides I tried including the beans and coleslaw were also delicious. I remember the coleslaw being good in the past but for whatever reason, this one just hit different. It was perfectly seasoned and went well with the brisket and white lightning sauce. Did they change the recipe or am I just losing my mind? I'm not sure but my stomach was definitely happy either way. My boyfriend also mentioned how the mac and cheese was much better than before and although I didn't try any myself, it even LOOKED better than previous versions. The cheesy sausage was delicious as usual, the brisket was moist and fell apart, and the wings were perfectly cooked and slathered in a delicious buffalo sauce. OH and the drinks? So good. If you like tiki-inspired stuff, you'll love their menu. Is there someone new back in the kitchen working some magic or did I just really miss coming here? I'm not sure but it was one of the best meals I've had here so far and I will definitely be returning!

Michael loved it! 5/5 - best bbq I've had in Baltimore so far. Great ambience (small town Texas…read morevibes) and service. The brisket was tender and juicy. The sausage was perfectly texture, smoked, and spiced. The beans were spicy and delicious. The Mac and cheese was rich and decadent. Prices were reasonable for the quality.

Neopol easily has my favorite sandwich in the city! So much so that I rarely order anything other…read morethan the salmon BLT. Pro tip: get the sunflower bread! It was nice checking them out for Restaurant Week. This was the first time (that I can recall) they participated and they really had a good deal going. It included a shrimp, a mussel, a sandwich, cookie, chips and a drink, all for $20. In all my years of coming here I have only had their shrimp salad, white fish, and the aforementioned sandwich; and that's basically it, so it was nice to try something different. The mussel really surprised me because I typically dont like them; I guess smoking changes the texture and I approve lol. I love the flavors, the attention to detail, and the consistency. Not to mention the service is typically fast and friendly. One of these days I'll venture to other menu items because I hear the pastrami is killer.

My first time trying Neopol and I see why they are such a staple here in Baltimore…read more Since Neopol was participating in the Baltimore Restaurant Week, I figured there was no better time to try them. For $20 they offered a sandwich of choice, a bag of chips, 1 jumbo shrimp & smoked mussel, lemonade, and a chocolate chip cookie, which unfortunately they forgot to give me. Nonetheless, I got the BLT Salmon sandwich and nestled up at a table outside to enjoy my lunch. The sandwich was quite tasty. Crispy bacon with smoked salmon, perfect lunch bite. But the star of my lunch was their ginger lemonade. There are no words to describe how delicious this lemonade is. First sip and you automatically think where has this been all my life. Neopol's counter offers a variety of smoked items from fish to purchase by the pound and mussles, to salads, smoked garlic, and sandwiches. The staff is really nice and the food is perfect for a quick bite. I can't wait to try some of their other sandwiches and maybe some of their smoked garlic.

Pig and Rooster has the BEST mozzarella sticks I've ever had. Like ever. They come out piping hot…read moreand the cheese pull is always insane. If you ever visit, do not skip the mozz sticks. They come with a marina sauce but I swear you don't even need it. Their normal Detroit style pizza is bready and yummy, but the New Haven style is thin and so crispy. You can't go wrong with either. They also have good salads and super crispy chicken tenders. I only wish the breading was seasoned as they taste a little bland. On the other hand, I find the pepperoni a little too salty but overal the pizzas are usually well balanced. Service is attentive and quick and the place gets packed but there is plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice! Such a good neighborhood spot for a happy hour or dinner!

Was in Baltimore for a show at Creative Alliance (highly recommend checking out Get Mortified --…read morefantastic show!) and stumbled across Pig & Rooster... and wow, what a find. This is the kind of neighborhood bar you instantly want to make a staple every time you are in the area. Chill vibe, and absolutely phenomenal Detroit style pizza. Our group tried four different pies and every single one knocked it out of the park: crispy edges, great toppings, perfect dough. The bartender was awesome too, super attentive and even shared a good laugh with me about a couple of the signs around the bar. It made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you are in the neighborhood, or honestly, even if you are not. Pig & Rooster is worth the detour.
