Very experienced Korean Lady's place... We've been 3 times... Today we had eda mah meh, white fish which is signature plate and spicy chicken with noodles... For me toooooo salty but it's ok. She is quite different attitudes...Very bossy, she tryed to make the best for you and she is way to explain little bit unusual:) Decoration very unique We love Suzi anyway...

Suzie's Soba has been a Korean staple in Hampden since 1998. If you don't notice the inside artsy decor or cozy outdoor seating in back with beaucoup de plants, you could be forgiven, if you walk on by. But the decor and outside landscape--and the food--bear the stamp of owner Suzie. And Suzie will definitely (defiantly?) go down as a true Baltimore restaurant character. It's easy to pass by this local treasure without realizing the true Korean food you can savor inside. I have been re-visiting this place, having experienced a typical noodle lunch in the cozy outside a few weeks ago, and inside on this cool night. And so: Tonight I could only eat half of the seasonal special melt-in-your-mouth, spicy (to taste) Korean short rib with potatoes and carrots with white rice. I can't tell you how delicious this seasoned meat was! (Note: This special takes 20 mins to prepare, so call ahead before you visit.) I also enjoyed a hot mug of Gin Ma Cha or roasted rice green tea. The problem is Suzie is old school--no online presence! Also, the hours are sporadic, so either walk on by and check out the menu or give a call to find out what's up! See the menu here.

Just so much character and fun! Make sure you call before going or else you may be turned away. We went at 6 and there was nobody else there, and we were treated to first class sass and great service. The food was also really nice, but a little pricey. We ordered the donburi, beef shabu shabu, and chicken pad Thai. All dishes were seasoned well (shabu was slightly too salty) but really complex and nice. Will definitely be back.

This is absolutely my favorite spot in Hampden for lunch OR dinner! Suzie is an absolute force and her talent in the kitchen and charming wit makes any meal so so amazing. If you're only able to make it to one restaurant on the street I'd recommend this one. Pictured are the mushroom and spinach noodles- but they were so good I ate them before I remembered to take a picture!

We had dinner at Suzie's for the first time a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Suzie has been in Hampden for more than 20 years, and she is a character. She helped us order (we ordered a few dishes, and Suzie made some suggestions for better pairings) and entertained us throughout. It's definitely Suzie's shop; she's the owner, the chef, the waitress! It feels personal to eat at her restaurant. I'm not sure if Suzie is seating people inside right now, when we went for dinner we asked to sit on the patio, and I didn't see anyone seated inside. But the patio is lovely. Suzie has planted some gorgeous plants out there, and it's very private and quiet and charming. On a pretty day, this patio is a dream. Based on Suzie's suggestions, we ended up trying the steamed chicken dumplings, the cold cucumber salad, and the chicken soba (with scallions, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, and a spicy-ish sauce). Everything was delicious, and I definitely didn't regret letting Suzie talk us into some different dishes. I really enjoyed our meal here. Suzie is a delight, the food was great, and the patio is really wonderful. A great place for a meal on a pretty day!

Wow! This place was legit! I would definitely recommend it to friends. I've been in this area of Baltimore so many times I can't believe this was my first time trying it out, somehow I have overlooked this place. The Korean food is on point and Suzie helped me pick what I wanted to eat on a day when I was being indecisive. The food portions are perfect sized and don't leave you hungry! The owner is funny and comes off as a little intense but is friendly. I can understand that some people don't understand her but she had me cracking up. She is straight to the point and means business if she doesn't know you. There is an outdoor enclosed patio area with lots of seating, that's private and perfect for sunny days or if you want to eat outside.

Thai tofu is delicious! I got mine with spice, it was very mild.

The food here is very good, my partner and I plan on returning and bringing friends the next time we are in town.

Decided to stop in today The noodles and things on the window caught my attention so why not?? I went in looked around. The cook didn't say anything to us initially so we continued to look around at everything in store because there's so much shit everywhere. She finally walks over and asks if we wanted to order and my bf asked where the menu was so the cook said it's over there(pointing to the entrance where the menu is.) I began to look thru and my bf walks back across the restaurant to look around and rudely and very loudly the cook says "you gonna order or not" then mumbles something else. This is the first time i was addressed soo rudely in an establishment. She acted as if she didn't like having black folks in her restaurant. Even if I wanted to try the food I would never go back because of her. She was a complete ass!

Seaweed salad was so delish.

The older woman (who I believe to be the owner) is incredibly rude and nasty. Spend your money elsewhere. Don't waste your time.

This past Friday it was really chilly and my work colleague wanted some hot tofu soup. Not to mention this is one of the best Korean Pocha spots in the city, with a 70-80's retro street vibe features traditional Korean cuisine, Korean BBQ & other specialties. The wait staff was really nice and inviting. They were very knowledgeable about the various food options. It was really cool to hear catchy K-pop songs playing as week. The food is fire hands down. I went ahead and got the Teriyaki mayonnaise Cup Bap( rice bowl topped with the korean fried chicken, teriyaki sauce and mayo). So delicious, my friend got he soft tofu soup with seafood and we split a hot sake to share. I am still mad at myself that I have not come here sooner, I will definitely be back. Their fried rice dishes look amazing. I also love the price point here as well. For both of us it was $40 bucks. So if your in the station north area, please stop in. You wont be dissapointed SYOY

It was packed but we got one of the last tables available and were seated right away, others that came later had to wait. Service was great--staff were friendly and attentive. The Noodle with Pork & Black Bean Sauce and Noodle with Veg & Beef Spicy Seafood Soup are my top favorites noodle dishes here. We also got the Fried Dumplings, which were just okay. Pros- Clean establishment…read more Cons- High priced Food is ala carte Service could be more attentive We came to check this place out as my daughter likes it. In the door the place was clean and well lit. Our server was attentive to us in the very beginning b I t did decline. Menu choices to me were a little odd to include everything is ala carte, you dont even get rice with a meal. We were a party of 8 so we all ordered something different. For me the food lacked flavor and the fried beef was like eatting beef Jerry. We had some children with us who dont eat with chop sticks and getting regular utensils seemed difficult. Our server filled our waters in the beginning but that was it, after that finding her for anything was not happening. Finally, they attached a automatic gratuity which i have an issue with, I am a great tipper but if service sucks then it should be my decision on how much to tip.

We tried out a combo meal of 6 with ribeye, sirloin, mainly beef. The servers also grilled and cut all the meats for us which is nice. All side dishes are pretty standard like most other Korean restaurants. A delicious bowl of steam eggs came with the meal, wish they would at least offer two bowls for a party of 6 and surprisingly no rice came with the combo. We had to add an extra order of steak and seafood pancake since no one was really full with the combo. I would say this place is for those who have high expectations of fresh & premium meats. You will not be stuff or over indulged because it can be quite pricey. Our bill with tips & taxes was about $55 per person. It's a bit pricey for lunch and I wasn't even full. If you never been to this restaurant before, I recommend that you try it out at least once but I don't think we will be back here anytime soon.
