A decent bbq if you are near the town of Gilroy! We drove by and decided to have a stop before heading back to SJ. My favorite items are the ribs and coleslaw. Ribs are tender and with plenty cartilage. Coleslaw is refreshing and not too heavy unlike some places who are heavy on dressing. We also tried the tri-tip and the burnt ends. Burnt ends to me is a bit too sweet for me as compared to other bbq burnt ends. I probably wouldn't get it again. Corn bread is also dry, but garlic bread is good! As a pickle lover, I also wished they gave more pickled sides. *Overall, it's a decent bbq place if you are driving by Gilroy, but not my favorite out of the ones I tried in NorCal. read more

Their outdoor sitting was lovely on an early Oct evening. It is a great set up to enjoy a group's company. I ordered a 2 meat combo with brisket and tri tip. The brisket was fine but the tri tip was on the tougher side. The flavor was just OK, additional BBQ sauce was necessary. The spicy sauce was too hot for me to handle, regular sauce was good. I haven't been here in quite some time but I will start to make it a regular spot. This time around the service & food were superior to say the least !!! Friendly atmosphere with a home feel. Tried this spot yesterday and was impressed with the quick service. I placed my order at 1:15 pm, food delivered within 10 minutes and by 1:40 pm, I was basically done eating. I think this place has really good pricing - these two dishes after tax and tip were about $45. I tried the mac and cheese with brisket and my husband got the trip-tip meal with mac and cheese and potato salad sides. Plenty of parking and seating at this spot in Gilroy. My plate was large enough to take home my leftovers, and I was even able to share it with my dad. Definitely fills the spot when you're hungry in Gilroy. I'm not in the area much but I'd come back here if I wanted some bang for my buck and quick service! read more

Really enjoyed the food here. The brisket and pork ribs were amazing and the cornbread was tasty but not too sweet. Key lime pie was also fantastic. Easy to navigate parking lot, would love to come back and try the bbq chicken when I'm back in the area. Wish they served fries or potato wedges as a side but so good! read more

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint what so ever. Everything was amazing. We got the combo 2 meat with burnt ends, brisket, potato salad and Mac and cheese. With a loaded tri tip baked potato on the side. With a tropical beer on tap!! Me and my husband shared so it was a good portion. No complaints about anything. We live in Stockton and wish it wasn't so far from us or we would have gone back the next day and at least once a week. Thank you to the cooks and the workers. Long day shopping, yelp suggested this place absolutely delivers what they offers. The brisket was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor, with just the right amount of bark. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked--moist, flavorful, and easy to pull apart, even without sauce (though the sauce just makes it better). The burnt ends were a standout: crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, and full of rich, smoky goodness. The sides were just as impressive. The potato salad was creamy and well-seasoned, a great balance to the smoky meats. The beans were hearty and flavorful, clearly slow-cooked and infused with BBQ flavor. This was my third time at this restaurant, and each time I had an enjoyable meal. This last visit my wife and I went to lunch. She ordered the pork ribs and I ordered the two meat meal. My wife loved the ribs and she did not feel the need to add bbq sauce. For my meal I ordered the tri-tip and pulled pork which came with 2 sides and garlic bread. The 2 sides I chose were the beans and the Cole slaw. Both meat items were very good, nice amount of smoke on the meat. The beans were slightly spicy, the coleslaw had a vinegar based dressing. The garlic bread was basic, We ordered at the counter and our food was delivered to our table very quickly. The restaurant has lots of out door seating and some indoor seating. The brisket here is pretty good! The cuts I got were pretty lean, but not dry. Well seasoned and I loved the barbeque sauce options too. Not too sweet. I definitely recommend pairing it with the potato salad! Really tasty. Tastes homemade even. I definitely want to come back and try a rack of ribs or some dessert next time I'm in town. Stopped by BBQ 152 and overall had a really solid experience from the food to the service. I ordered the tri-tip, chicken, and pulled pork to get a good feel for what they do best -- and it definitely hit the spot. The tri-tip was the standout for me. It had a nice smoky flavor, a good crust on the outside, and stayed tender through the whole serving. Not dried out, not chewy -- just well cooked and full of flavor. The chicken was surprisingly juicy (which says a lot for BBQ chicken). The seasoning wasn't overpowering, and each bite had real smoke without being heavy. It's easy for chicken to come out dry at BBQ spots, but that wasn't the case here at all. The pulled pork was soft, smoky, and pulled apart easily with a fork. It had great flavor on its own and paired well with sauce without being drowned out. If you're a pulled pork fan, this one is worth ordering. On top of the food, the service was friendly and fast. Staff were welcoming, answered questions without rushing, and made sure everything came out right. Even with other customers around, the flow stayed smooth and the wait time was reasonable. Passing by on a road trip got only brisket..they were good and moist...nothing out of the ordinary compared to houston. Brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage, and tri-tip were ultra tender and incredible; pretty generous portions and affordable prices. Enough to share with a couple to few people. Corn bread and Mac N Cheese were totally delicious. Rapid service and wonderful staff. Outdoor dining was super comfy and clean: adjacent to Downtown Gilroy. Let me start by saying I LOVE BBQ, I came down for the weekend and was looking for a nice sit down area outside well of course I was going to pick bbq. I read a few reviews and decided to make my own decision. I ordered the 4 piece pork ribs with Mac and cheese with beans. I'll start with the Mac and cheese, it wasn't horrible I would say alone it was a good 2, soft, warm and cheesy however it was a white cheddar, I'm a yellow cheddar type of girl. I should of asked before but again it wasn't horrible Now moving on the beans, this would get a 1 at the highest. No flavor, Smokey flavor I felt like I was eating chili beans from the can I didn't even finish it and left it there Lastly the pork ribs, these would get a 2 and that would be only because of the sauce. I initially asked the cashier if the ribs fell of the bone and she said "oh yes" so that was the determination between ribs and pulled pork (I wish I would have gotten the pork) the ribs in fact did not fall off the ribs but were a good texture. To finish it off I also got "cornbread" it tasted like bread from the toaster but they gave me some honey so it them became toasted hunny bread which wasn't the end of world. Overall I gave them a 3 for the ambiance. Side note: the person I went with got sick within minutes and they can eat read more

This place has the best barbecue!! I got the #2 meat combo. My meat choices were ribs and burnt ends. It came with the choice of garlic bread or cornbread, and two other sides. I chose cornbread, baked beans, and coleslaw. The burnt ends are by far my favorite! They were so flavorful and absolutely the most perfect texture. Not too much fat, but so much flavor! The ribs were also delicious. They weren't "fall off the bone", but not everyone likes that anyways. I thought they were amazing! The baked beans were fine, I was expecting them to be sweeter but now I know. Next time I'll get the potato salad. I got to try it and it was delicious and unique. The coleslaw was good and fresh, perfect crunch. It was a nice contrast in flavor with all the meat and barbecue sauce. The cornbread is not the sweet kind. Which is nice because you can put your own butter and honey on it to your liking. They have an awesome selection of beers in the fridge and some on tap as well. Such a cute little BBQ spot, but just a little expensive. We tried the brisket, burnt ends and pork ribs with sides of beans, corn bread, Mac and cheese and garlic bread. The meat was cooked very well, nice and tender. But what disappointed me a little was that there is only two selections of sauce (regular BBQ and spicy BBQ). It would have been much more flavorful with different sauce options. All the sides were pretty decent too. The environment is super cute and welcoming and staff are extremely nice. Quick trip to Gilroy shopping and late afternoon we were starving. We had a dog with us so outdoor seating is important. We're happy they have a large outdoor space. Ordered the family pack of ribs and brisket. Supposed to be good for 3-4 people but we both finished it no problem. We even ordered extra garlic bread. Corn bread was nice and moist. Meats were good but nothing stands out about it. Mac n cheese and coleslaw sides were good too. I love the addition of pickled veggies. The service was very good. They have tons of beer in the menu. What really stood out to me was the customer service everyone was super friendly, attentive, and great with kids. They were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. I decided to give BBQ 152 in Gilroy a second chance, hoping this visit would be different. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I tried calling multiple times to place a to-go order, but no one answered the phone. According to Yelp, they were open, so since I happened to already be nearby, I figured I'd drive over in person rather than keep calling. When I arrived, the place didn't look busy at all, which made the situation even more frustrating. With hardly any customers around, there really wasn't a good reason for the phone to go unanswered. It gives the impression that whoever is working there either doesn't care or isn't being managed properly. I was ready to order a few tri-tip sandwiches and a full slab of ribs, so this wasn't a small order. Instead of welcoming business, they completely dropped the ball. After standing around and realizing I was basically being ignored before even ordering, I decided to leave. Customer service matters, especially for a local restaurant. When someone is making an effort to give you another chance and spend their money with you, the least you can do is answer the phone or acknowledge customers. Sadly, they lost my business again, and I ended up eating somewhere else instead. Very disappointing experience, and unfortunately I won't be returning. read more

I had came in the other day and ordered the family pack number 5, this was my first time ordering here I was recommended this place by a friend of mine. I called ahead and Nataly the worker helped me with my order she said since I'm feeding 5 people one of the family packs would work out best. It came with a full rack of ribs, tritip, chicken, garlic bread and 3 sides. She helped me with the sides being beans, potato salad, and Mac and cheese since she said those were the most popular ones people order. When I got there she even helped me pay and handed me my food, the place was very welcoming I loved how they had decorations for fall which I found cute for pictures. When I got home eveyone loved the food the ribs were very delicious and had a good amount on meat on them and everyone loved the Mac and cheese the pack even came with a. Came here today afternoon, I got the 2 meat combo which was to die for, definitely will be coming back again. The cashier in the front Yully was her name helped me pick out the meat she said her favorite was the burnt ends and her suggestion did not disappoint, They were sweet and savory same for the brisket it was really tender and juicy. She brought out my food in less than minutes, the place itself is really spacious and comfortable. I just got back from lunch at this restaurant like I do every Saturday, had the two meat plate, brisket and hot link. It was really well prepared, the quality of the sausage was excellent, properly spiced and great texture. Also, the jalapeño poppers deserve appreciation because they are finger licking good! I've come twice already for a burger and poppers. It's been the same person at the register and each time she's been lovely, respectful, and helpful. She made it so easy to order and totally accommodated a burger with bbq sauce instead of mayo and mustard. The first time we came on Sunday for dinner and it was busy! Wow, people sure do like this place. There was a family celebrating a birthday here. The second time, I came in on a Friday night and I noticed they had lots of delivery pickups and orders to go. There is ample seating to enjoy a happy meal. I've gotten the meals with fries and drink and also just the burger. We are so fortunate to have a fresh burger place. I will say. WOW! This sandwich came out HOT (temperature-wise), and it was huge! Mild spice level was perfect. Produce was fresh. I will definitely be back!!

For the owners please don't use just tri tip as (steak) the way it's being cooked is not the right cut of meat and will always look gray and dry. I would give it another try but maybe staying away from the steak unless told clearly what you're getting.

THAT WAS DELISH! The fried onions gave it a nice crunch and the cheddar was like enough for a non huge cheese lover in warm sandwiches. Quantity of tri tip was pretty decent. ) The fried chicken was an 8 piece bucket, with 6 jalapeño cheddar cornbread muffins -- i enjoyed this. It came with a sweet butter of some sort. Their chicken had a nice thick batter and salt flakes but we felt the chicken needed more seasoning or at least a bit more salt-- and I'm really sensitive to salt so it definitely could use more salt. OVERALL, nothing too special or unique about this chicken. The parm Brussels were yummy! And we added the apple slaw because I love sides and it didn't disappoint. The mash and gravy was fair, nothing special. Total cost of the meal was eye opening at $86 for all of this. Though portions if the sides were decent. KIND OF A LOT for a fried chicken bucket meal, I'd say. Probably wouldn't order this again but definitely will be back to try their regular menu.

Server was always checking in on you. Food arrived hot, water glass was always kept full. Wonderful service. Ordered Bacon, rice and two over easy eggs and they were yummy! Hope to be back soon for a meal!
