This place has the best barbecue!! I got the #2 meat combo. My meat choices were ribs and burnt ends. It came with the choice of garlic bread or cornbread, and two other sides. I chose cornbread, baked beans, and coleslaw. The burnt ends are by far my favorite! They were so flavorful and absolutely the most perfect texture. Not too much fat, but so much flavor! The ribs were also delicious. They weren't "fall off the bone", but not everyone likes that anyways. I thought they were amazing! The baked beans were fine, I was expecting them to be sweeter but now I know. Next time I'll get the potato salad. I got to try it and it was delicious and unique. The coleslaw was good and fresh, perfect crunch. It was a nice contrast in flavor with all the meat and barbecue sauce. The cornbread is not the sweet kind. Which is nice because you can put your own butter and honey on it to your liking. They have an awesome selection of beers in the fridge and some on tap as well. We ordered big catering sizes for a baby shower and the meats were delicious. Tender and juicy bbq ribs! We had to push up our pick-up time by a few hours because of schedules and the staff on the call were very nice about changing that--even though it could've meant less time to prepare the meats. Great service each time I went. The brisket is decently tender and the sauces available are solid. Mac and cheese isn't super cheesy but still very flavorful. Garlic bread and cornbread are both good as well I'd rate this place a 7.5/10. Good food, and a meal for about $20 is pretty standard and fair in my opinion. 10/10 Absolutely amazing, loved every bite! I ordered both the tri-tip sandwich and a side of tri-tip, and everything was perfect. The sandwich had a generous amount of meat, super well-seasoned, and the bread was incredibly soft. Nothing was dry at all and it didn't need any sauces or extras, it stood on its own. I also loved the side of jalapeños and what looked like fermented onions such a unique, flavorful touch. The tri-tip itself was cooked perfectly: juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. I can't tell you how good this food was! This is the best brisket I have ever had! The bbq sauce was very flavorful and the beans were off the hook- with a little kick. Be careful ordering the backed potato it was HUGE! Dammm! It was enough for 3 people. It had just the right amount of cheese, green onions, and sour cream. If you level up and add a meat - we did tri tip omg it was good. We also ordered the bread pudding (forgot to take the picture) it was amazing with the vanilla ice cream. So my husband and I LOVE this place. We come down every few weeks to see our hairdresser but make sure we absolutely stop here for lunch. Well today (11/14/2025) we were able to come down earlier for breakfast. We both had the breakfast sandwich (both with brisket) and I don't think I have done the "omg this is delicious" happy dance in a long time. The egg, cheese, brisket ratio was spot on and that sauce on it was perfection. I joked with the gentleman behind the counter, Fidel "ohh you'll see us again for lunch today!!" And of course. We came back for lunch and had our usual 3 meat combo. My husband is obsessed with their tri-tip and burnt ends, I adore their brisket. Fidel say me and made a little laugh that I was back. Just average for me. Place is cute and lots of seating. Can sit inside or outside. Since it is in Gilroy outside can get hot but they have umbrella to shade u from the sun. You order from the outside then find a place to sit. It's pretty much self serve so you grab your plate utensils, sauce and drinks. We went for family meal as better bang for your bucks and also order ala cart. We had pork rib, beef brisket and try tip. We all agreed the tri tip was the winner. Brisket was ok. It was good eaten on its own or dipped in one of the bbq sauces. The brisket had a nice char to it, but it was a bit too dry for my liking and the pork ribs were not fall off the bone. The only side that stood out to me was the white cheddar mac and cheese which wasn't overly sauced or too cheesy/dry. It had a nice consistency and the noodles were soft. On our way back to SJ we decided to go to BBQ 152. The brisket was pretty good, with good smoke flavor and nice texture 7.5/10. The ribs were super disappointing barely any meat and a little dry (you can even see this in the picture). What was more upsetting is seeing another order come out for other customers that were meaty and moist looking 3/10. I have been going to this place for awhile, and to their affiliated restaurant Mission Street BBQ in Santa Cruz, CA for around 10 years. The food is good, and the staff is friendly except for one guy. I tried ordering on line, but it was not available. I called to place an order, and the guy on the phone interrupted rudely, wanting to know what meat. I told him I was getting to that, he was rude and acted like he doesn't want his job. There was so much noise in the back ground, that the conversation was drowned out. So I hung up. The rude guy called back, I told him what I thought about his bad attitude, and told him he just lost a $50.00 order, and a customer. While some may think it's petty, it's down right ridiculous when businesses take your money while treating you poorly. These businesses that treat customers poorly like they don't want your business, are failing regularly. You'd think they would understand that. I can't even feel bad these days when so many businesses close down. That's what they ask for. read more

What a gem of a BBQ spot in Gilroy. I've had good BBQ in New York, LA, and even Texas -- but BBQ 152 really surprised me with how consistently flavorful and tender everything was. We got the meat combo with brisket, tri-tip, and pork ribs, and honestly, each one was excellent. The brisket had that perfect smoky bark and just melted in your mouth. The tri-tip was juicy and well-seasoned, and the pork ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. You can tell they know what they're doing here -- no shortcuts. But what truly makes this place stand out is the owner. He's one of the most genuinely kind and warm-hearted people I've met in the restaurant world. You can tell he really cares about his guests having a great time -- not just a good meal. He chatted with us like we were old friends, lent my nephew a cowboy hat, and even brought him a little dessert just to make his day extra special. That level of hospitality is rare. I advise to maybe come early because the menu is only served till runs out. By the time we arrived on a Sunday night the pork ribs were sold out for the day. A decent bbq if you are near the town of Gilroy! We drove by and decided to have a stop before heading back to SJ. My favorite items are the ribs and coleslaw. Ribs are tender and with plenty cartilage. Coleslaw is refreshing and not too heavy unlike some places who are heavy on dressing. We also tried the tri-tip and the burnt ends. Burnt ends to me is a bit too sweet for me as compared to other bbq burnt ends. I probably wouldn't get it again. Corn bread is also dry, but garlic bread is good! As a pickle lover, I also wished they gave more pickled sides. *Overall, it's a decent bbq place if you are driving by Gilroy, but not my favorite out of the ones I tried in NorCal. read more
