The meat has absolutely no rub. It needs black pepper, peppercorn or something. It needs spice. The bbq sauce didn't compliment it well. Maybe slather in sauce and let it cook for a nice glaze. Pouring sauce onto the rib only made it taste like sauce and you lose all the smoked flavor.
