Although I had an intense headache towards the end of the dinner, the food was good. My favorite dish was the spicy garlic eggplant. I like how the vegetables were soft but not mushy and over cooked or drenched in oil. Last night I almost ordered the tamarind baby back ribs. Since I am staying away from pork, I went with the waitress's recommendation of sizzling beef with red bell pepper. Excellent! We came here for the pad thai and it was so ordinary. I should not trust a person who doesn't like seafood. How am I going to share a meal with someone that doesn't eat fish? My whole protein diet is based on fish and red meat. You come here to drink Thai Tea with extra cream not a shot of whiskey for $6.00. It was a good business meeting but I am going to have to come back here with someone who really enjoys food. Huge Southeast Asian menu. Also coming from the Bay Area, the prices are unreal... amazing value. I would say all entrees except noodle soups can be shared by two people. Wow. Just going to say this was a gem! They were so busy but the service was a 10! The decor and overall feel of locals and patrons spanning from date night, family dinners, and ladies having dinner night together made it we'll rounded. Haven't seen a cajun-vietnamese-thai place before but the food here was amazing. Green curry and tom kha gai were my favorites, but everything we had was delicious. Green curry was just so flavorful and a tiny bit spicy, with perfectly cooked soft chicken. Teriyaki beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, even warmed up as leftovers. Huge portion of pad thai, only complaint there was our lime was pretty dry and had only a few drops to give when we tried to squeeze it over the dish. Was really craving seafood boil and it was pretty late- boiling crab, etc places in SJ were closing soon. I Yelped open restaurants and this place showed up. From the menu, it looks very much like just an Asian fusion restaurant with no specific cultural cuisine. Strictly just reviewing for the seafood boil. I arrived to the restaurant to make an order to-go. I was looking at old yelp menu photos and realized when I got there that the seafood boil order process has changed. 1. Choose your sauce (I chose jellyfish smack- mix of all sauces) 2. Pick your heat (I chose hot) 3. Add boil sides (I opted out of sides- they're an addition cost. I had sausage links, golden potatoes and eggs for soft boil, and rice at home) List of available seafood: - Snow Crab legs - Dungeness crab - Crawfish - Shrimp (headless for extra $2) - Lobster - Mussels - Scallops - Clams I chose 1lb crawfish, 1lb shrimp, and 1lb mussels. I don't like how there's no pricing listed for the seafood options and it just says market price. For frozen seafood, really? Everything added up being around $72, but I left a tip anyway. Totaling $78.40 The lady at the front counter was really nice and patient while taking our order. It satisfied my craving, but it was very average. Flavor of sauce was okay. Crawfish were on the small side, shrimps were over cooked, mussels were... mussels. The price point was not worth it in my opinion. I really love the drunken noodle with beef filet, hot and sour soup and garlicky yam fries with spicy aioli but recently I had the tom yum soup and it was not very good at all, so be careful here as it is pretty overpriced, make sure to stick to what is tried and true or you will definitely feel disappointed if you try something new and it underwhelms , but overall the food is very good and reliably generous size portions and decent quality with friendly service! Stopped by on the way back from a trip to Monterey with a party of 6 plus baby (plus stroller). We were one of the first patrons there as they opened, and the restaurant was very accommodating, giving us the best possible booth table with ample space for our stroller and high-chair. What I didn't know was that it is actually connected to a cajun seafood spot, so you can actually order items from both places, which is pretty neat. Most of the table opted for family style, which is highly recommended, as the dishes are definitely shareable size. Here is some of what we ordered: -Roti: two orders; a little small for the price, but the curry sauce packs a pretty nice spice; very nice and flaky roti though -Drunken noodles with mignon: steak bites were so good; very tender! the noodles were pretty good - a tad oily, but I personally loved the dish -Gilroy chicken: a bit of spice on this one, but solid mix of peppers, chicken, and nice sauce -Strawberry boneless pork: a bit out of left field, my dad wanted to try this one, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised - a little crisp to the pork despite looking like it would be soft/mushy, and the strawberries counteracted the sweet sauce, which I liked -Tofu and vegetables: solid dish to get your veggie fix in -Green curry: a little liquidy and not spicy at all, but the potatoes, baby corn, and insides were soft and delicious Overall, I really enjoyed this spot and would be down to check out other dishes and specials - would definitely recommend if you are around Gilroy! read more

This restaurant is a gem hidden in Gilroy. I did not expect to love it as much as I did. We had an early lunch and were welcomed and seated immediately by the waiter. The decor inside is well done and there's so much seating for large parties. Random thing to like, but I really appreciated that their menu had pictures for almost every item! It made selecting our dishes so much more easy because a lot of the menu was unfamiliar dishes to me. They have a whole additional vegetarian menu too! We order quite a bit and the portions are huge!! Family style eating here is very easy. Here's our order: 1. Crispy calamari -- (5/5) you can order it with garlic or Cajun flavoring. We went with garlic. It's a tempura fried dish with a sauce to dip into. This appetizer is huge and can easily be shared amongst 4-5 people. 2. Veggie Chowmein -- (5/5) the noodles are thick and the overall dish is so delicious. So much better to fast food chowmein we are all used to 3. Gilroy Chicken -- (4.5/5) huge portions again. I picked this because I thought that it would be spicy, it was more sweet than spicy but had great flavor and paired so well with our chow mein 4. Fisherman Prawns --(3.5/5) this was so similiar to our appetizer that we wish we picked a different entree. It came with a spicy powdered breading and roasted red peppers that were drizzled over the battered shrimp. It tasted good but we wish that it was less dry. I think is wildly important to note that this place is internally connected to another restaurant called the Jellyfish Seafood Bar, so when you sit down to a table in EITHER establishment, you can order from both menus! As a first timer to both restaurants, this came to me as a surprise. I honestly came in to try the Jellyfish Seafood Bar, but was ultimately unimpressed by the menu and decided to eat off of the Pineapple Village menu instead. We came in looking for something to satisfy our need for food and to stay on track with our Lenten commitments... and boy were we in luck! Since Pineapple Village serves food family-style, I ordered three items to share. 1) Vegetarian Wonton soup, Walnut Prawns and Basil Fried rice. Everything came out piping hot and chalked full of flavor. Especially the basil fried rice--that sucker is very basil-forward in taste. Once you get over the initial shock of how potent it is, I swear, it is the most delicious thing you will have ever tasted. On another note, the walnut prawns were exceptionally crispy and paired perfectly with some candied walnuts which truly elevated the dish. And honestly, my favorite part of the vegetarian wonton soup was how fresh the veggies were without being soggy. While the broth is filled with veggie goodness, I'd highly recommend a dab of chili oil to add some flavor to the mix. Honorable mention: the cucumber infused water is super refreshing! All in all, service was excellent and the vibe was definitely casual and family-friendly. My one and only complaint is the fact that there is only one bathroom in the establishment and it was quite disgusting when I went in there. They do have a pair of sinks located just outside the bathroom door, but I'd suggest if you have some "business" other than hand washing, you do it elsewhere. Whenever I am in Gilroy, this is my go to spot. I love this place. I have tried a good amount of their menu and everything has been up to par! I do have to mention they are a family style serving plates so I tend to share with the person/people who go with me. My go to are always these three items: the Heart attack fried rice, Sizzling beef mignon and the Gilroy chicken. All of them are so good. The fried rice i order is filled with diced seafood such as calamari, shrimp, and imitation crab. The chicken is really soft paired with mushrooms and corn with a spicy sauce drizzled on top. And lately, the mignon comes in a sizzling pan with bell pepper and onion, the meat is buttery and soft. There is plenty of parking and the staff are friendly. I went to Pineapple Village today, and wow... 10/10 experience. I've been here plenty of times over the years, but today everything just hit different. The food was packed with flavor, and their chili oil? So good I grabbed two to-go after dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff was on it--tables cleaned right away, super attentive, and friendly. It was packed (Friday night rush), but we were seated right away. The first one, I went with my mom and ordered couple of dishes like the Pad Thai, Combination Fried Rice, Roti, Seafood Broil, Walnut Prawns. We definitely enjoy the Seafood Broil especially how it's served on a plate rather than in a bag. Walnut Prawns were also great but I wish it's a little crispier. Combination Fried Rice was alright (definitely will get the Vegetable Fried Rice instead) The second visit, I went by myself after some errands. I got the Beef Broccoli, Vegetable Fried Rice, and Seafood Clay Pot. For a single person that's a lot of order but it also means lots of left over Anyways, I like all of the three dishes that I got. The amount of seafood in the clay pot was good. A lot of times, when the dish says seafood, it's usually lots of squid. But this seafood claypot has shrimp, fish, scallop, and squid. In addition, there's also tofu in it. The Beef Broccoli tastes sooo good too. Lastly, the vegetable fried rice is a must try I'll say. The seasonings and the vegetable it has works well. The second visit, it was a little busy - maybe because it's like dinner time. It has an average loud level. It was not that dark yet as it's around 7pm but I wonder how it's gonna be like when it's night time. I feel like it'll be dark inside when it's around October. The server who's supposedly checking on me if I need anything visited my table twice (not including the times she delivered the food I ordered). The first time is to check if I'm doing alright. The second time is basically asking if I need a box for my left overs. A lot of times, she is entertaining this one particular customer on the other table. Definitely going to go back here especially I enjoy eating the food that they have. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Gilroy. My husband & I come here pretty often & whenever we have guest visit us, we bring them here too & they always enjoy it. LOVE that they joined the two restaurants (Jellyfish Seafood Bar) now & you can order from either menu. We often change up our order when we come here but the dishes we always have to get are: Fisherman's Prawns (my husband's favorite) Garlic calamari (the one with the onions & aioli - soo good!) The service here was great, attentive and very accommodating for the littles/kids. I also loved the variety of food. This is a dual restaurant with Pineapple Village serving Southeast Asian Cuisine and Jellyfish serving all sorts of seafood dishes. From the Pineapple Village menu, we got a few "bento"/combo lunch specials which for under $20 included soup, rice/veggies and an entree felt like a deal! And from the Jellyfish menu we got a loco moco which was a patty and egg over bacon fried rice, with a tasty gravy -- the little was a big fan and even though he doesn't eat much -- he devoured it. Also, their eggrolls were soggy the last 2 times we ordered them, which is why we didn't order them again. We tried this business not long ago. The food was very good however, there were items missing from our take out and they had closed by the time we realized. The food is very favorable and well made in reference to their other reviews. We were excited to try the different recommendations we had seen. I got the filet mignon pho both the first and second times I ordered here. The first time the broth was very favorable and the fillet was cooked tender. The cold additions like sprouts, onions, lime, fresh basil and jalapeño were present on the first order but there was no hoisin sauce or siracha style sauces to add. I was disappointed at the missing sauces but the pho was still delicious. The second time I ordered it I asked for the hoisin sauce on the side, no onion and the addition of extra fresh basil. I received the pho with a scant few bean sprouts, some sliced fresh jalapeños and some hoisin sauce. They completely omitted the basil (I asked for extra) and lime (or lemon?). Basically my soup was mostly noodles (I think they used wheat this time instead of rice noodles), the broth was not as rich as the first time and it lacked all the freshness of the additions. The hoisin sauce helped but had I lived closer I would have taken it back and asked them to remake it or get a refund. I've tried the pho twice and the only consistent is the inconsistent. Bummer as the original broth was great. The consistency of additions wasn't. Two time strike... most likely won't order it again. But the other food is very tasty and worth a good review. read more

I picked up to go and it seem service is good and the foods are a bid on the saltier side for our liking. For the local Morgan hill and Gilroy i think is an acceptable place. It's hard to write a negative review, but something has to change here- starting with the chicken. My partner and I wanted some Pad Thai and I hadn't tried any around Gilroy, so with the 4 stars I wanted to give it a shot. When I saw the recent reviews I saw someone posted the quality of the food wasn't great and I though "how bad can it be"? First, I asked for gluten free pad Thai, which they said they could do. Everywhere I've gotten gluten free pad Thai it still has a delicious sauce but with soy sauce omitted. Here they literally gave me only salted noodles with no other sauce. My partner got their normal pad Thai and said it was edible but the least favorite he's tried with taste and quality. The chicken quality was the worst chicken I've ever come across. I didn't even want to give it to our dog with how questionable it's texture and appearance was.
