Stopped here for some good Vietnamese food and drink just a few miles from the Gilroy Outlets. I ordered the Pork Belly Bahn Mi that was filled tender pork belly and veggies that was crunchy, fresh and appetizing. Service was excellent as well and took our order quickly. Lots of seating in the dining area with no complaints. We were able to bring in our therapy dog, Ava in the dining area which made for a comfortable and relaxing meal. read more

Been going here of and on for a few years with my family. The drinks are pretty good and up till today the customer service was pretty good. Seen the owner a couple times and she seems very friendly as well. Today we went inside it was pretty empty. There was a man behind the counter that seemed to completely ignore us. We waited patiently for quite a while and while a woman walked out from behind the counter and left the store absolutely no one acknowledged us at all. The man seemed to be making drinks and didn't say someone will be with you or anything and it was obvious we were waiting to place an order. Me and my wife just looked at each other in disbelief as he keeped passing us at the front counter. Eventually I told my wife that we should just go, and we can get a drink elsewhere. It pains me to write a review like this for a small business but I would not recommend this place if you are not in the area already. I normally try and support small/local businesses but this is not run very well as all the prices are at least 20% more than what the signs and menu say. While they do have a disclaimer prices have increased they don't tell you how much it is until you see it ring up. Of course you can change your mind but this surprise is a little shocking when all the menus have lower prices. I don't know how this place isn't more well known... so let me help you! If I could give 10 stars I would. By FAR the Earl Grey salted cheese drink is the BEST I've had! It's actually TEA and not powder and so flavorful! In fact I normally want Jasmine milk tea but the EG is superior! The Jasmine tea is also very good and fragrant. My husband originally got the Jasmine milk tea but liked mine so much he ordered again . We split the Basil popcorn chicken at medium spice. It is spectacularly good! And fresh! And it's thigh meat not breast, huge win! Juicy, tender, lightly fried in their own homemade mixture. Let's talk about the incredible customer service too. They came to our table to see how we liked it! When my husband ordered his 2nd tea they came out and said "about 5 minutes so I can make fresh tea". Wow! Too notch customer service! Love the vibe of the place. Good chill music, can fit about 20 people inside. I seriously hope this place makes it long term because it is 5 star worthy! We stopped by on a trip to Gilroy Gardens. They were out of tofu, and the only other protein I eat is shrimp, so I couldn't get the banh mi. The guy recommended the rice bowl, which I got, and wow, it was such a rip off. $17 for a big bowl of rice, with 2 slices of tomato, a few slices of cucumber, and lettuce that was going bad. Plus 5 pieces of shrimp that were overcooked, not much flavor, and a pain to peel. Super disappointing. The drinks we got were good - couldn't reduce the sugar level down all the way for some of the drinks. Watermelon slushy, strawberry smoothie, and honeydew smoothie. These people are crooks!!Ordered two lunch plates with two thai teas for lunch and dinner. Inside pork bowl, only part of bowl had rice in it under a partial salad! Both drinks were half empty! I paid for full drinks with soy milk- i expect full drinks!!!!! I paid for over priced full bowls of rice-meat-and veggies - therefore I expect full bowls of food for their too high overcharged prices!! I will not be placing future orders!! I'm new to Gilroy so still on a hunt for good boba. This place has very good popcorn chicken (juicy dark meat which is the best!) and their avocado smoothie is great. I'm lactose intolerant so I rarely get to enjoy smoothies but their avocado smoothies here do not bother my tummy and I don't have to sub for any alternative milk. They don't have a large variety of drinks like San Jose spots but still good. Best way to beat the unpredictable wait is to call in to place an order before arriving. For coffee that is $7 plus dollars you expect it would be filled to the top. We told the person who handed our drink that it's not filled to the top and they just kind of just brushed us off. It seems Sundays can get quite busy, and skeleton team is doing their best to keep up. I waited about 48 minutes for an order of two, and another very patient customer who came in after me eventually let the kind, hardworking staff member know she couldn't wait any longer after 30 minutes. Came in here for a quick smoothie. Noticed they offered basil popcorn chicken so I ordered that as well...Should have not ordered that because I was waiting extremely long. There was literally no one inside when I came in so the long wait was confusing. It took approximately 27 minutes for a small snack of popcorn chicken...? The smoothies came out fast but that defeats the purpose if I cannot enjoy with the food. Apparently the owner opened up a business next door which actually connects the two businesses, but it seems that staff is severely shorthanded. I ordered a pineapple/watermelon smoothie, but It seems it was more of a slushy than a smoothie. Flavor was decent but nothing more glamorous than a Jamba Juice. Also tried the Mango smoothie with basil which was better because it had more texture. Was thick like a smoothie. The popcorn chicken was spiced up but lacked a consistent flavor. Flavor was somewhat bland but I kept eating them. Don't know if it was because I was hungry or if they had an underlying solid secret sauce. Ranch sauce pairing made the chicken quite tasty. I stopped here for a Bahn Mi sandwich, I think it was overpriced. For the $15+ I spent I could've gone to the Togo's in the same shopping center and gotten a sandwich worth the price. The good: I tried the kiwi tea and matcha milk tea. I loved that the kiwi tea had bits of mint and mango chunks (I believe). I added chia seeds to it which added a nice crunch. I asked for 25% sweetness but the cashier recommended 50% because she said it'd be sour and it tasted good at 50% (though I think 25% would've been fine too). The drink was refreshing because of the fresh chunks of milk. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. They have tons of snack options that include banh mi and popcorn chicken. The bad: I got the matcha at 25% sweetness but it tasted like 100-125% sweetness compared to other matcha milk teas I've had at boba spots. I initially ordered the black charcoal kumquat lemonade drink but they didn't have it. Music inside is a bit loud. They have storage stuff laying around in the main dining area. I came by earlier today to use up a gift card that I had been given but found out I could only use it on their website so we sat down to order. My boyfriend and I ended up ordering Gilroy Sunrise and classic Assam milk tea with boba. It took quite some time for our drinks to come out, but it looked pretty busy since the staff were taking orders by phone and customers kept coming in and out. We asked about the status of our order after 15 minutes and the staff said our drinks were already done, and apologized for the delay. The milk tea wasn't bad but I felt that 75% sweetness tasted closer to 100% sweetness. I tried my boyfriend's Gilroy Sunrise and it just tasted like liquid sugar. I would say that TeaLeaf tends to run on the much sweeter side so make sure to adjust the sugar levels accordingly. Okay so I have decided! By far the best boba in Gilroy and MH area hands down ! We got a taro, Taro was my fave! 49ers fantasy and classic milk tea ! Soooo yummy ! I would ask for light ice. Came to this place exactly one week ago. We ordered the exact same thing and as you can tell one is completely different with whipped cream, caramel, and a marshmallow. Today we came in expecting the exact same level of service but instead we got a cashier that was very dismissive when taking our order. We waiting a whole 30 minutes for two drinks. We did not have an issue waiting for our drinks since we knew it was a treat we were going to enjoy and was worth waiting for. The cashier ended up being the one who made our order and literally just threw everything in a blender and made the drink in a minute. Coming from a previous barista myself, if you have orders that include food and are going to take longer since the food has to cook. You put the food to cook and start pushing drink only orders out. When we were observing the drink questioning why they looked completely different the cashier yelled from across the bar "Did you want the marshmallow?!" We said no and took our drinks since we had already waited long and she was very dismissive and unwelcoming the whole time. This was a very bad experience and I would recommend anyone coming here to ask the older Asian guy to make your drinks. Last week they were very busy when we came in but he was very nice, pleasant, and made our drinks correctly. Spending $8 on a drink that he makes is worth it.
