5-Star Review for OD's Kitchen in Gilroy I finally made it…read moreto OD's Kitchen in downtown Gilroy, and wow--what a fantastic spot for breakfast! This place lives up to all the hype as one of the best breakfast joints in the area, with huge portions, friendly service, and that cozy local vibe. I started with the chocolate cream drink (their rich, creamy hot chocolate or chocolate milk variation--whatever it exactly is, it's indulgent!). It was perfectly sweet without being overpowering, super smooth and velvety, topped just right. If you're a chocolate lover, this hits the spot and pairs amazingly with breakfast. Not too heavy, but definitely satisfying. For my main, I went with the famous Rosebud breakfast, and I can see why it's a favorite for so many people. It's a hearty, loaded plate with eggs, meats, potatoes, and all the classic fixings done exceptionally well. Everything was cooked perfectly--fluffy eggs, crispy edges where needed, and those fresh country potatoes were addictive. The portions are generous; I couldn't finish it all and definitely didn't need lunch afterward! The staff was quick, welcoming, and the place was buzzing with locals. If you're in Gilroy and craving a solid, no-fuss breakfast with standout items like the Rosebud and a great chocolate drink, OD's Kitchen is a must-visit. Highly recommend--I'll be back soon! 5/5 stars

It's been awhile since the last time we were here so it's good to come back and try again the food…read moreif it's the same still. I got the steak and cheese and chose pancakes and country potatoes for the sides while my mom got the od special . It's always nice to have choices what would you like for the sides. My mom and I didn't expect that we can actually change the toast to pancakes as it's not mentioned in the menu. My favorite part is the maple syrup as it's served warm. For someone who only uses syrup for pancakes that's a big plus for me. The steak and cheese was good but I feel like it's missing some taste to it that the salsa helped to cover. Service was good. We sat at the back room but I feel like we're checked enough times to make sure we're okay. The only funny thing I found was when I paid for the bill in the front, one of the server supposed to walk to our table to give us the to go box but instead the other server stopped her and gave me the to go box instead. The ambiance was casual. At first, it's really nice as it's quite peaceful and can actually enjoy the food quietly but when a big group came, they're loud that I tried to rush to finish so I can leave the restaurant already. Definitely worth to come back but hopefully they'll have more options with their pancakes.

First off, these burgers are amazing!…read more I'm so glad I was told about this place. I was told the burgers are so fresh here. They were right- they are fresh and delicious! Also, the jalapeño poppers deserve appreciation because they are finger licking good! I've come twice already for a burger and poppers. It's been the same person at the register and each time she's been lovely, respectful, and helpful. She made it so easy to order and totally accommodated a burger with bbq sauce instead of mayo and mustard. The first time we came on Sunday for dinner and it was busy! Wow, people sure do like this place. There was a family celebrating a birthday here. The second time, I came in on a Friday night and I noticed they had lots of delivery pickups and orders to go. There is ample seating to enjoy a happy meal. I've gotten the meals with fries and drink and also just the burger. We are so fortunate to have a fresh burger place. It's clean and they have a bathroom. You'll see in my pictures, they have cheese sticks, too.

This is exactly what you need when you want a good burger and fries, quickly, and affordably!…read more The burger is big and the price is great. I got the bacon burger and it was excellent. The bacon had great crisp. The crinkle cut fries are really tasty and well seasoned, with just the right amount of crunch, yet soft inside. I wasn't that impressed with the side of fried mushrooms we ordered. They were fine, but I wouldn't order them again. The batter was very thick. I did appreciate the side of ranch it came with! This is the spot when we go to Gilroy Gardens and need a quick dinner afterwards. This time we were heading to Pinnacles after, and also needed dinner. It's very close to the theme park.

I have been wanting to dine in at this Gilroy local favorite establishment for a while now. We…read morefinally had the opportunity for a date night so we decided to try them out. We arrived on a Saturday early evening for dinner recently. Old City Hall Restaurant is located in a nice area in beautiful downtown Gilroy. Parking is accessible along the streets. The restaurant use to serve as Gilroy's old courthouse and jail. It has been transformed into a majestic and historic restaurant building. The decor is modern and traditional. Plenty of tables are available for dine in downstairs. There is a full bar with plenty of bar stools. The lovely patio looks inviting and spacious. Unfortunately I was not able to see the upstairs dining area. We ordered a Chicken Cordon Bleu with a Caesar salad and baked potato, Scallops and Prawns with a house salad and coleslaw, crème brûlée, and a couple of happy hour drinks of local IPA and house Chardonnay. Everything was delicious. My Chicken Cordon Bleu was flavorful and the combination of the cream sauce, cheese, ham, and chicken all went well together. The wifey said her Scallops and Prawns was scrumptious and the tropical salsa was a delightful complement. Her only gripe was that the portions did not match the price point of the dish. The crème brûlée was delectable and the perfect dessert to complement a wonderful 3 course meal. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Old City Hall Restaurant. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The vibe was bustling and inviting. Daily happy hour is always a nice touch. We will come back to try other dishes especially the burgers.

Wish all places had someone as charismatic and hard working as Mike P. His service was a game changer after an extremely busy workday. Stop by and check it out. Have to say this is now our new favorite place in Gilroy, Love eating her after the chaotic day of shopping, Thank you Old City Grill and Mike P for wonderful food and service!!
