    Garlic Salmon Salad with prawns
    Peter E.

We were traveling from San Francisco to Morro Bay and stopped in Gilroy for dinner. The waitstaff were friendly, the accommodations comfortable if dated, and the food was tasty and plentiful. My wife ordered the Garlic Salmon Salad, I got the Baby Back Ribs. Both were delicious, and were very ample serving sizes. The salmon was cooked perfectly and nicely presented with the added prawns on a bed of lettuce. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the sauce had just the right kick for me, and the baked potato topped it off nicely. The staff were appropriately attentive even while preparing to close for the evening. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant; wish we lived closer!

Went in again today and I had to try the New York Steak Sandwich and the potato salad with some delicious lemon soup. The New York Steak sandwich was PERFECT. Made to my request and the meat was so good. Not too much fat and bone. It was 99% meat and I was impressed because some places use meats with a lot of fat or bone and takes off the value of the plate. Overall this was a 5 star plate for me and the price was perfect for my wallet. LuLu waitress was great again and her service was a definite TRUE ONE!! The soda Coke with ice was also pretty good. Left me fed for the rest of the day.

We stopped by this cozy breakfast spot & we're pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was warm & welcoming & sat down quickly. The staff were friendly & attentive. We ordered from the breakfast special menu & everything was cooked just right -- my coffee cup was fresh and refilled often. Our plate sizes portions were generous, prices were fair, and service was quick even though it was a busy morning. We'll be back for sure!

The price was right, the coordinator Charlene was so helpful and the place was so beautiful and simple. Things I loved: -Outside patio for outdoor ceremony -bridal room -food was tasty - open bar, we did a his and hers drink -very spacious for 200 people - restrooms were nice and clean - very intimate setting - space did not feel crowded - catering team was friendly and quick to help clear tables Wedding planning is sooooo overwhelming but it felt so nice to have Charlene help us every step of the way. She was very prompt with responding to our questions and we even hired her as our onsite coordinator for our wedding day which was the best decision we could have made. Everything for the most part went smooth and I never felt stressed. I am only giving them 4 stars because I do feel like they can make some improvements with their food tasting. My husband and I were a little disappointed that we had to taste the same food versus each trying something different. We expressed our concerns and they were able to accommodate us with a second tasting since we were not satisfied with our first tasting. Also, we told the catering team that we had a friend that was vegan. They served him a plate with salad and strawberries. In a way that was our fault for not checking in with them with what the actual plate would be. My friend was a good sport about it but I felt so bad because he was really hungry. Lastly, our package included one hour to clean up after the ceremony ended but all my guests were rushed out by security leaving just my parents, myself and a couple of bridesmaids to gather our belongings. If they didnt rush everybody out we could have had more people help with taking down our personal decorations and not felt so rushed and stressed to get out. At this point Charlene was no longer in the building since she was with us since the morning but I do hope that in the future security respects that one hour and does not kick guests out. Overall, beautiful venue, amazing coordinator and great price! Despite the small complaints and hiccups, I would highly recommend this place as a wedding venue.

But the more I work inside the semiconductor industry, the more I want to get away from the noise, the people, and be w/ the animals. When animals are hungry, they eat. When animals are tired, they sleep. When there are conflicts, they fight. They have no hidden agenda. They will love you unconditionally no matter what you bring to the table. Booking the reservation was easy. You pay half of it first to secure the timeslot. At the time of your reservation, you will be asked to pay the remaining balance. Paying cash will give you 10% off. You can bring children and even your dogs! They have a small area for kids to play. You can bring fruits/vegetables or purchase food for $10. All of their animals (cows, chickens, alpacas, goats, rabbits, and dogs) are secured. You can feed them, take selfies w/ them, and pet them but you cannot be inside the enclosures. The cats are healthy and friendly, they roam the property. There wasn't a single area I saw that wasn't maintained. Every animal and every enclosure were clean and well taken care of. Jasmine and Andrew were personable, friendly, and you can see how much love and patience they radiate. I cannot wait to head back. This time I will bring Gavin. For years, based on the promotional photos I saw, I avoided the Gilroy Gardens (GG) family theme…read morepark. I thought it would be tacky and hyper-commercialized. Curiosity, together with my wife's desire to see the place, finally got the better of me--and I discovered that I had been wrong. GG in my opinion manages to strike the best balance that any such theme park probably can in terms of appealing to the masses while at the same time avoiding the trap of being tacky or hyper-commercialized. The varied rides and exhibits are pleasant and well-maintained. Some are even quite artistic (like the totem poles, illustrated in the image attached here) and educational (like the ecologically oriented Green Barn). If you're already familiar with GG, you don't need me to tell you about it. If you're not, here are a few tips--which might not be obvious to the uninitiated--that might help you better enjoy it: * The lines for the rides can be very long at times. You might end up waiting for an hour before it's your turn. Best to be prepared for that and plan it into your itinerary. * We noticed a small number of people who avoided the lines for all rides, being let in through the back gate/exit. When we asked about this at the Welcome Center, we learned that GG sells yellow wristbands that allow people to skip the long lines and enter through the "back door" (exit). They cost something like $85 per person for the year or about $30 per visit, in addition to the membership fee. * Even with those wristbands, you'll need more than one visit to see and do everything here. Rushing around a lot will spoil the fun. * The food everywhere, as far as we could tell, is pretty bad. You'll be ahead of the game if you pack your own, which will also avoid your waiting in another line. * The big secret, so to speak, of GG is "hidden" in plain sight--in the second word of the name itself, "Gardens." Most visitors are so preoccupied with going on the rides that they miss out on the natural beauty of the gardens. We found Camellia Garden and Claudia's Garden, in particular, to be like sheltered oases of calm and natural beauty within the hustle and bustle of the park. In our opinion, the three most obvious ways in which GG could be improved are as follows: 1. Improve the quality of the food that's offered. With all the traffic the park gets, those concession stands must be worth a small fortune. Either get them to do better or replace them with businesses that will. 2. Design a more user-friendly map. Those who already know their way around don't need a map but for those who don't, the existing map is not sufficiently clear (hint: it probably needs to be larger). 3. Do a better job of training the staff, in terms of both knowledgeability and attitude. Some are quite good (a special shout out to Nina at the Welcome Center and Sean at the Garlic Twirl ride: they exuded both warmth and professionalism) but others, who shall remain nameless, need more training. Minus one star for those deficiencies, as well as for not making it sufficiently clear at the time of the 2026 premium membership purchase that the bring-a-friend tickets that came with the membership had to be picked up almost immediately or they would not be available.

Review update for the start of 2026 season:…read more I expected the park to be refreshed and in top top shape for the start of the season. They just opened for the season! Unfortunately, I didn't find that was the case. We went during spring break on a weekday, and found it was more packed than usual. With that, it's no surprise considering local schools were on break. What was surprising to me was how dirty some of the rides (the caterpillar is an example) were. I feel like all of the attractions need a good pressure washing and clean up before busy season starts. We were also surprised to learn that they're now a cashless park. I'm not sure when they stopped accepting cash ( I usually use a card ) but wanted to highlight it for visitors to plan accordingly! Will be updating this review later into the season. Fingers crossed they just haven't checked some of the cleaning off the to do list yet!

When we mentioned it was our first time visiting and that we were excited to be there, there was no warmth, no enthusiasm, and no effort to tell us about the wines or the property. Even the pours seemed careless. I know this is Gilroy and not Napa, but I still expected a welcoming experience and better wine service. Unfortunately, both the service and the wine itself were disappointing. The best part of this place was definitely the beautiful grounds, which would make a gorgeous wedding setting. Maybe this place is better suited as an event venue than a wine tasting destination, but based on my experience, I would not return. The two stars are for the beautiful grounds.
