Walked around downtown Morgan Hill and stumbled upon this cute spot and wow, what a find! The seafood was both delicious and surprisingly affordable. We started with the steamed clams in this garlic sauce, which were AMAZING. The sauce was so flavorful, and dipping the bread into it made it even better. We also ordered the beet salad, which was pretty good, along with the seafood linguini and seafood paella. The linguini was decent, but the seafood paella was definitely the star. It had a creamier, cheesier flavor compared to traditional paella, but it was so rich and satisfying. Service was great, and the atmosphere makes it a perfect place to sit down, relax, and enjoy your company. I've seen some reviews mentioning slow service, but honestly, I think we're just so used to being in a rush.. this felt like a nice, leisurely dining experience. Came here for Mother's Day and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. Our server was kind and doing their best, but the food quality and overall experience were not good at all. We drove almost 3 hours to visit while spending the day in the area, and honestly, we would've rather grabbed fast food instead. What made it worse was that we were hoping to treat our mom to a nice meal, but all of us ended up disliking the food. The appetizer plates we were first given were visibly dirty, so we had to ask for clean replacements right away. A few people in our group ordered the loaded clam chowder since we'd seen so many positive reviews online, but it was extremely underwhelming. The seafood tasted undercooked and the soup itself had barely any flavor. The wait time was also frustrating. We received appetizers fairly quickly, but waited almost an hour and a half for our entrees. During that time, staff kept coming by offering extra bread and refills we didn't ask for, which honestly felt more like an attempt to make up for the long delay. Meanwhile, several larger parties that arrived after us were served their meals before we were, even though our group was only 5 people. What also made the experience uncomfortable was that once our food finally arrived, we felt rushed to leave. After waiting, staff were already trying to clear plates while some of us were still eating, which felt unfair considering the delay was completely out of our control. By the time the food finally arrived, the quality just did not justify the wait. Overall, it was a very disappointing Mother's Day experience, especially after driving so far. Came here on a weekday to meet up with a friend for lunch. I wanted to come to a place that was local and this was the perfect opportunity to try out a new place. Was surprised to see as many patrons as I did on a Monday but I think I was the youngest person here (and that's saying something). I ordered a Loco Moco and the kitchen was nice enough to not include the mushrooms into my gravy (bc mushrooms gross me out). There was only 1 server and it took a while before she came to take our order and when the food finally came out, I was happy to not see the fungus on my plate lol. However I'm used to having the gravy on top of my eggs in a traditional dish like this. Oh well this is MoHi, not Maui. Service was quite slow and not that attentive. Our waitress pushed Margaritas on us but we opted for soft drinks and it never came until I reminded her of it. This whole time I was wondering why service was so slow and where the heck Rosy was but then remembered she was at the beach and that's why there was only 1 server. The patty on the Loco Moco was prob like a 4" diameter but decent thickness. It didn't have the moisture or tenderness I was looking for and the gravy didn't have that aloha flavor but at least there was enough of it to coat most of the rice that accompanied it. The interior looks good with a beach theme. Pretty spacious inside and it provides a comfy settings for people to get together for a meal. The table setting is clean. The food is ok, a bit disappointed with the portion. The portion is on the small side. The miso salmon tastes alright but the veggies are overcooked and mushy. For the prawns and scallops dish, there were 2 prawns and 4 scallops. The sauce is rich. The desserts are tiny. You can finish the lava cake in 2 bites. It's even smaller than the egg bites you can buy at Starbucks. The brownie is also small. It's expensive considering its small size. We went here for a birthday dinner because they wanted seafood. Was hoping this would be a good place to go but it's was not. The services was friendly, but they were very slow, took us almost an hour to get our food and I don't believe the restaurant was that busy. I tried the seafood boil which had decent flavor, but should've came with some bread or something and more types of seafood. Some people had the mashed potatoes as a side to with their dinner, and they said it was very salty and way too garlic, they told me it burned their mouth. My son got the miso salmon and said the fish was OK, but didn't like any of the other sides, he was not a fan of the pineapple, coconut rice. Our waitress was super nice but that was about the only thing that we liked about the restaurant. Place looks a little rundown in the bathrooms are definitely not maintaining. Very good and worth every bit of $40 First time here, we came in on a Saturday. A nice welcoming gentleman greeted us and I explained we are from out of town and it was our first time here and he already knew that we were there for the loaded clam chowder bowl.... He explained that people have been coming from far specifically for that bowl and stated it is only available on Sundays but he would check with the chefs and ask if all of the ingredients were available to make us the bowl and thank baby jesus that the chef said YES My friend and I shared a Grilled Salmon w/asparagus salad. That salad was very good 10/10!!! Salad portion is huge and I am so glad we shared it I had a Lychee Martini made by Jacqueline martini was good There is plenty of seating available, indoor and outdoor seating There is a bar area with TVs, restaurant is clean and well decorated Food is fresh and very good, parking can be a little hard to come by, basically street parking, however parking is safe. We worked up a fierce appetite after a 3 hour hike nearby and my guy recommended this place. We were seated right away which was nice for around 4pm on a Sunday. Our server, Jacob, greeted us quickly and took our drink orders. I was in the mood for red wine so opted for the Rosie's red, which aparently is a cabernet, and I really enjoyed it for the cheaper price. My guy had a Modelo draft. We ordered, where the drinks and food came out quickly. We heard there was fresh bread coming out too, which ended up being very delicious. I ordered the Grilled Summer Seafood Salad and was SO good! It had two large scallops, shrimp and salmon on a spring mix with cheese, corn and bacon. The lemon thyme dressing wasn't overpowering and was very tasty. My guy had the shrimp and scollop meal which had a butter sauce, mixed veggies and rice. Also very tasty, but I preferred my salad. We skipped dessert, and I waited a bit to get a second glass of wine, however I wasn't too upset since I saw our server running from one end of the restaurant to another doing his best to keep up. This is a cute beach themed restaurant in downtown Morgan Hill. They have great outdoor seating in the front and back for those nice days/nights. The parking is limited in the front but you can find spots behind the restaurant. The service was excellent. Our waitress knew the menu and offered wine selections to pair. We didn't sit at the bar, but they had a nice area with a couple tvs. We were interested in this place due to the SJ Mercury article regarding Bay Area Best Fish Tacos. We had to order the Salmon Fish Taco plate. The plate came with rice and beans, plus a slice of lemon. The fish was cooked to perfection, but came with a small portions of fish. The rice and beans were good. Overall, this was a good plate. On Tuesdays, they offer the salmon taco for $3 al-a-carte. We also ordered the Boardwalk Burger. Definitely expected more for this buger, the bun to meat ratio was off. We felt like we were eating a lot of bead. The fries were well seasoned. The slaw was okay, definitely appreciated that it was not to saucey. We will back to take advantage of some of their daily specials! read more

If we are in the mood for some local dine in legit seafood, Rosy's at the beach is one of our go to spots. Ever since we moved to Morgan Hill about 16 years ago, we have been dining here for years. Their daily specials such as the Salmon Taco Tuesdays and no corkage Sundays are attractive and of great value. We also like their cozy downtown Morgan Hill location where parking can be easy and accessible as well. The wifey and I recently came here for a Sunday lunch to try their new loaded clam chowder. They offer it only on Sundays. It's been awhile since the last time we were here. Restaurant still looks nice and is busy. Service is always accommodating. The complementary bread and butter is a nice touch but our bread was burnt that day. I ordered the calamari with fries and coleslaw. It was tasty. The wifey ordered the loaded clam chowder. First of all the presentation was out of this world. It came with a lobster tail, clams with its shell, 2 big shrimps with chowder underneath all that in a sour dough bread bowl. Everything in that bowl was delicious. Wish there could have been more clam chowder since there was an abundance of seafood instead. Came here on a Saturday in April for lunch. We did have a reservation, but the young lady at the hostess table who appeared to be doing nothing did not acknowledge or welcome us into the restaurant until we spoke first. It was a hot day and after being seated I ask her if she could bring me a glass of water. She told me that was not her job, and that I would have to wait for my server for that. She didn't ask any one to bring me the water and she went back to doing nothing at the hostess table. The restaurant is a really cute place and when server came she was really nice, and provided excellent service. The food was well prepared and served in a timely manner. Overall it was a delightful dining experience and I do recommend coming here. I would have given a 5 star review if it had not have been for the unpleasant experience with the hostess. read more

There was a viral IG post about the loaded clam chowder that first put this place on our radar. My husband and I came on a Friday night with friends so we got other food items since the loaded clam chowder is only available on Sundays. We ordered the oysters on the half shell and combination fryer plate to share, and I got clam chowder and the Spanish paella for myself. Overall the food was decent but I feel like the Spanish paella could've used a lot more flavor, as it tasted pretty bland despite there being a good amount of seafood. Rosy's has always been a fun restaurant we like going to. We chose to have our Mother's Day brunch this year 2026 and we're highly disappointed. The restaurant has been nicely refurbished. I commented on how nice it looked and our server told us Rosy had sold the restaurant and it was under new ownership. The staff were friendly and efficient. However, the food was a disappointment to put it mildly. Two of us ordered the Garlic Shrimp and Scallops which consisted of one scallop and three very tough shrimp. It was basically a bowl of sauce and they did not offer bread, so no dipping and the mashed potatoes were cold. It was my granddaughter's $50 Lobster that was just not edible. It was bland, tough and cold. We all tried it and all agreed it was really bad. Maybe from frozen to overcooked? I informed our server of how bad it was, but she basically dismissed it. My husband did say his steak was good. We then ordered desserts. We got two lava cake desserts to share between two, but honestly they were so teenie that two bites and they were gone. If it had not been Mother's Day I would have spoken up more, but I didn't want to ruin the day. Absolutely no attempt was made to compensate for the Lobster or no apology made! So, unfortunately we will not be returning to Rosy's. It would behoove them to get their act together considering all the new eateries opening in MH. Price and Food Quality & Quantity was not what my family and I expected. We order the Steamed Clams, Garlic Shrimp & Scallops, and Mac Nut Halibut. Our Steamed Clams were tasty but the quantity and price was not worth it at $18 - There was barely a dozen clams on the plate. The Garlic Shrimp & Scallops was not worth the price at $28 - I expected more than 3 shrimps and 2 scallops and the sides (mash potatoes & steamed veggies were cold). The Mac nut Halibut was dry. Overall the food quality was not there. My family was not pleased with the service. Our waitress was not attentive at all. She spent majority of her time chatting it up with another table where the conversation lasted for about 10 - 15 mins in total (it was 2 visits). After hearing so many folks around me talk about how much they loved Rosy's we decided to give it a try. To say I regret that decision ... is an understatement. The service was great all the staff were nice and attentive. The environment reminded me of an attempt to dress up a 90s 'fish house'. Chairs were warn and old ... mismatched painting and mountings of fish on the walls, etc. I grew up going to fish houses ... my grandaddy owned several while I was growing up so I am familiar with the fish mountings and wood paneling. The food was absolutely terrible! The shrimp spinach empanadas with a significant lack of shrimp (and spinach for that natter), calamari fried so hard you could not chew them (oily rubber bands), crab cake tasted like a store bought egg roll (hubby and I still can't figure this out), shrimp and fish over fried, clam chowder had no clam in it (was relatively ok potato soup), French fries tasted like day old reheated Wendy's fries (they had that reheated fry texture), shrimp overcooked slightly mealy, fish over fried and slightly oily, tarter sauce was runny dill herb sauce and NOT tarter sauce (someone needs to give tarter sauce making lessons to someone around here), the tuna poke' was funny tasting and a bit slimy (so was the avocado). More on the tuna poke'... I ordered it as my entree. I took a total of one bite of the tuna which was weird texturally (please keep in mind - well, you all know I eat poke' alllll the time) and it had a slimy texture and weird overly sweet taste. I immediately told hubby 'this is odd, I'm not sure I should attempt eating this'. I tried to eat the seaweed salad off the top ... it too had a strange textural feel and taste. I then tried the avocado... it too was slimy. After three bites I pushed it aside and told waitress that there was something the matter with it and I could not eat it. She asked if I'd like something else and I declined. I do not think I have ever sent a dish back to the kitchen declining to eat it. First time for everything I suppose. About two or three hours after I got home I got sick and have been feeling sick all night. Currently sipping on seltzer water ... avoiding all food and regretting that I once again listened to word of mouth recommendations! I absolutely do not like Rosy's... in fact at this particular point in time I absolutely despise Rosy with a burning purple passion! 0 stars ... DO NOT recommend! read more

My dish lacked flavor. I ordered the seafood linguine and a bowl of clam chowder for my daughter. The mussels, clams, prawns and calamari in the pasta were tough, overcooked and lacked flavor. The bits of salmon in the dish were also bland. The menu lists that this should have a chardonnay butter sauce, but there really was no flavor of that in my order. I asked for parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes to add something to it. At $24 I was disappointed at the quality of this dish. The clam chowder was also a bit bland and watered down. My daughter loves clam chowder but she was just not a fan of this one. My husband ordered the Sesame Encrusted Ahi and the flavor was good. However, there was a big chunk of ginger hidden in the greens and when he bit down he was not expecting that huge burst of ginger flavor to blast his palate. Overall, the decor is lovely, but service is pretty slow and the food was underwhelming. I had hoped it would be a place I could bring a large group for a birthday or celebration, but after experiencing the food and service I probably wouldn't. Maybe it was an off day, maybe some people prefer their food this way. For me, it was not the best experience. I don't get to go out to eat often, so to have slow service, then have the server spill a glass of wine on me then have our food be bland it was just too many negatives in one sitting for me. Server was lovely and apologetic and I was not upset about the wine spill at all, accidents happen. Maybe you will have a better experience than I did, but this is my honest review of my visit. read more

Both were predominantly flour thickened tasteless goo. If you want great clam chowder walk a half block up to Giorgio's. Lastly if you want to be rushed through your meal, this is the place for you. At 7:30 on a Thursday night there are plenty of tables to turn.
