Many of the dishes can be easily shared as family style. The service was a bit disappointing as there are glowing reviews about this restaurant. Perhaps the staff was overwhelmed and understaffed during my dining experience. My party had to request for the same items multiple times and felt a lack of attentiveness from the staff. Food Complimentary fresh bread with softened butter The bread was served fresh and piping hot with a side of butter. However, my party had to ask for it to be brought out instead of the server bringing it out as a complimentary starter. Truffle Mac ($18.00) Creamy, thick, and truffle-infused macaroni and cheese. This dish was one of the few from the order that was good. Calamari ($20.00) The calamari pieces were fried and served on a bed of lettuce. It was't a very memorable dish as I've had better elsewhere. Kobe Beef Sliders ($22.00) Served with 3 sliders - the Kobe beef that had a few pieces inside with brioche buns. Clams ($22.00) The clams were swimming in seasoned broth. Pappardelle Bolognese Served with long strands of pappardelle noodles and the bolognese sauce and two pieces of garlic bread toast. This was one of the best dishes among the order. Beef Wellington This dish was served with a pastry topping and beef filling, potatoes, French fries, and condiment sauces. Was really hoping this would be the star of the dishes, but it was underwhelming. Chilean Seabass ($48.00) For the price and portions served with this dish, it was a bit shocking to see how small the Chilean seabass was alongside the broccolini and mashed potatoes. It was a bit bland and missing seasoning. Ribeye Steak ($74.00) My party ordered the ribeye to be prepared as medium rare and it was served as medium well. Since it took quite some time for the dish to arrive, we decided not to inform our server since it was already late. Customer Service Lackluster customer service was provided. My party had to follow up several times for items and the food took substantially long for it to be served. Ambiance Dimly lit restaurant with ample dining room tables and a bar. There's outdoor seating options available as well. Each of the tables had artificial fall floral arrangements with festive Halloween decor. The restaurant has a casual setting for all occasions. Location / Parking It's located between 3rd street along Monterey Road. There's street parking or a complimentary parking garage across the street.

We celebrated my sister's birthday here and although the food was just ok the service was terrible and the food came out so so slow. We had a 15 person party and yes I get it was a Friday night and everyone is out eating and it's busy. But we had to keep asking for things that should have probably been on the table already like plates, silverware enough for everyone at our party and complimentary bread which we had to ask several times. We ended up getting it after we got our appetizers and I guess they don't serve it unless you specifically ask for it. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers: Truffle Mac (5/5) $18 This was an actually really good. They used orecchiette pasta was creamy and cheesy with different blend of cheese infused with truffle oil and garlic cream sauce and the party did enjoy this dish Calamari (3/5) $20 This was a pretty pricey for the amount of calamari we got. It also wasn't as crunchy as it probably should have been so pass on this Kobe beef sliders (3/5) $22 This came with 3 so at an over $7 a pop for a small slider with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato also came with fries... and the patty was a little dry, meh.. Steamed Manila Clams (4/5) $22 The clams came in a creamy soupy sauce (bordelaise) and we did eat them all and it wasn't too salty. We got our bread after to dunk it in so this was ok Entrees: Beef Wellington (4/5) $52 This was good and the filet mignon was cooked right. The crusty exterior pastry had a slight crunch and went with the garlic mashed potato's and veggies and sauce Parpadelle Bolognese (5/5) $28 The pappardelle noodle was cooked perfectly and the ragu meat sauce was flavorful with chunks of ground chuck meat and came with a crostini Chilean sea bass (3/5) $48 This was ok. The fish I think was slightly overcooked and overcooked fish does not taste good. Came with the same side mashed potatoes and broccolini. Ribeye steak (3/5) $74 We ordered this medium rare aand it came out medium (fail) we were so hungry that we didn't complain since it would probably take another hour to fire up another steak so we ate it. Was pretty upset at this $74 price tag over an overcooked steak..... and it was also a pretty thin slice Overall I don't know how they have such good reviews. Maybe they were having an off day or something. But I don't think I'll come back anytime soon.

I had the crab cakes with shrimp and they were delicious and beautifully presented. The prices are on the higher side, but they do have a full bar and a nice vibe overall. We went on a Thursday for lunch and there was a decent crowd. The staff were friendly and attentive. They check on us a few times, and made sure our water glasses were always full, which we really appreciated. The only thing that throw me off, though, was an extra $2 charge for a few slices of jalapeño we asked for on the side. It was maybe half a jalapeño and for a restaurant in this price range, I just didn't expect that.

Very inviting and welcoming atmosphere. It's one of those premium steak/seafood restaurants that have integrity/show appreciation/respect/honor for first responders & military veterans. Good code of conduct. Restaurant is beautiful inside with a huge open bar area. Excellent customer service and great foods at Ladera Grill. Owner and management are passionate about serving its customers. Owner has another restaurant down the street. Good people. Holiday decorations are everywhere and there's plenty of spacious long tables and chairs indoors & outdoors. Great vibes and great location (Nob Hill public hiking trail is just down the street). There's a lot of pride, especially with all the veterans coming here to eat for free on Tuesdays throughout the year. Plenty of free street public parking in downtown Morgan Hill. 5/5 Filet mignon 8oz. & 12oz., shrimp/prawns/salad, ravioli, seafood cioppino/pastas, desserts of all types, etc. During lunch hour, staff offered us to browse the dinner menu too. Sweet! Food temperature was hot. Portion were huge. Not cheap eating here, but food quality is excellent. Menu had wide selections. Our server Ricardo/Ricky was attentive, experienced & organized. Love it here. Everyone felt welcomed. This is one of the most generous and a well established restaurant that cares about its customers. It's a happy place for dining out indeed. Highly rated. Great for celebrations and holidays. Excellent service and good food presentations here. Everything was delicious in every bite. Fully satisfied. Our group felt special, blessed, and were glad to stop by for such an amazing moment to celebrate as a group. It's worth revisiting next time. You can also book private events too. Nice. We will be back! Amazing. Outstanding restaurant. Thanks to the owner and all employees providing outstanding service here.

    Petite Filet Mignon

We visited Ladera Grill for dinner and ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, Petite Filet Mignon, and finished with the Chocolate Marquise for dessert. The Chilean Sea Bass was fantastic; it was perfectly cooked, moist, and flavorful with its miso soy glaze. The garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed greens on the side complemented it beautifully. The Petite Filet Mignon, however, was underwhelming. Even though we requested medium-rare, the steak came out closer to rare, making it very chewy. At this price point, I expected more precision in cooking. The Chocolate Marquise was rich and smooth, easily the best part of the meal after the sea bass. Service was decent, and the atmosphere was pleasant for a night out. But at over $140 for two entrées and dessert (including tip), it felt overpriced for what we received. Overall, the sea bass and dessert shined, but the steak's execution and the high price tag keep this at 3 out of 5 stars.

Always the best salads in town! I had the beet and prawn salad and it was delicious! Perfectly seasoned and grilled prawns with lots of citrus in the salad. And, service is always great!

Food was a 5, service was a 2. This restaurant is charming and in a great location. I've heard great things and was excited to visit but the service or lack there of knocked the wind out of my sails pretty early on. We were greeted with a rash "what are you having" rather than an introduction to our server, sharing the specials or simply asking how our party was doing tonight. Our food was brought out by runners and our server never checked on us to see how it came out or if we needed anything else. The restaurant was steady but it was a Tuesday night so not overly busy. Our party all loved our meals but would truly have to think about returning bc the experience for such a nice restaurant was lacking. Beautifully decorated for Christmas though!

The Ladera Grill is an excellent restaurant that makes their guests feel welcome, provides great attentive service, and serves delicious food! We ate here recently to celebrate a milestone birthday and were very happy with the experience. We had reservations and were immediately seated inside and presented with bread and butter. There are two inside dining rooms and an outside area. White tablecloths and cloth napkins were on the tables. Cocktails were $15 and Mocktails were $9. It's nice that they have non-alcoholic versions for people who prefer that. We all ordered the Beef Wellington ($52 each). This is not made with pate and mushrooms, but instead with spinach and mushrooms in between the meat and the puff pastry shell. We all ordered ours medium rare. It was cooked to perfection and was delicious. The Wellington was accompanies by vegetables and mashed potatoes. Nobody left anything remaining on our plates! Since we were celebrating a birthday, we were presented with a complementary birthday dessert of ice cream in a churro like pastry, which was tasty and enjoyed by all.

I had a wonderful experience at Ladera Grill. We went with a group of Veterans and they covered our entrees. The food is very good. Everything was prepared well and looked amazing. I had a clam chowder and a beet and prawn salad. The prawns were tender and delicious. Salad was good overall. Others had the filet mignon and loved it. The lobster ravioli came with prawns and also looked amazing. And the cioppino was packed full of seafood! Our server was great. Overall great experience. I highly recommend them. And I will go back! And thank you for the kindness.

I have been dying to try this place! I finally got my chance and I ordered the filet. It looked and smelled so good. The mushroom sauce was really delicious. The mash potatoes and veggies were "ehh". My stake was extremely rare! This. Aught me off guard, I have never had it raw like this. I was not the only person at my table who ordered this, the other 6 people also had raw steaks. 2 people sent their stakes back. The rest of us ate only the outside of the steak leaving the uncooked raw meat. I didn't want to wait and send my meal back because our servers were already bringing out the desserts. The rest of us ended up taking the uncooked meat home really disappointing. I was really looking forward to Ladera Grill. Otherwise the service was great!

While shopping Morgan Hill's main drag on Monterey Road, we happened to stop for a quick lunch break at Ladera Grill because they had outside dining area. The establishment is nice and clean. Not too pretentious. The dishes are above par, offering mainstream dishes such as salads, pastas and gourmet burgers to name a few. Service was spotty though. I got their sliders. It was good. Now onto the next shop.

    Happy Hour Short Rib Tacos
    Nicole B.

New Happy Hour!! It has extended from the bar area to the patio Mondays and Tuesdays! The house wine went up to $6. Added some new items to the food list. Can not believe the truffle Mac & Cheese is still only $10. The portion is huge! I got the short rib tacos. Comes with a few pieces of cabbage, a sprig of cilantro and a salsa on the side. The salsa was a perfect addition. The short rib pieces were huge. The star is off by one because it took 25 minutes to order anything. The server was friendly, but had no urgency to help anyone.

Came in for a late dinner right before closing. We were sat at a table and put in our order. Out server was friendly and welcoming and took good care of us making sure we had evrything we needed. Small Plates Fried Calamari $19.00 Lightly breaded fried calamari with a spicy marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, and fresh lemon. Calamari were good and flavorful, however, I would have perfered them fried just a bit mor for a cruchy texture. Baked Brie $22.00 Triple cream french brie with local honey, roasted fennel, onions, dried fruit chutney with nuts and figs, strawberries, and crostinis. Brie was a good. Would have liked it a bit warmer so the cheese was a bit softer to spread onto toasted bread. fig fruit and nuts were a good pairing and complemented it well. I would deffinately order this again just ask for it a bit warmer. Filet Mignon $68.00 Regular 12oz $68.00 Petit 8oz $58.00 USDA PRIME, the tenderest cut of corn-fed midwestern beef Steck was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and melys in your mouth. Added a side of seasoned fries that were also cooked to perfection. Fries were well seasoned and flavorful with a golden color and good crunch like a fry chould be. Entree was filling and satisfying. I can see myself orering this again on our next visist. Chocolate Martini We had to order something to quench the pallet. This martini was good and did not lack liquor. It was a bit bit strong but good. the chocolate drizzle added a bit of sweatness. 12/7/2024

Ask the Community - Ladera Grill

Hi, what is the corkage fee?

We were there last night. Can't remember what corkage was but it was reasonable. I want to say $20.

When will you guys look into adding plant-based options? And by plant-based, I mean more than a side salad and french fries. Thank you!

They have a few options now. Still not impressive, but I think this year was better than last.

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes they do. Good portion size.

Does anyone know the corkage fee at Ladera?

    Yes

    Are reservations required/recommended?

Friday & Sat pretty much mandatory unless your going off hours. Before or after normal meal hours.. Very popular place.

    Are they pet Freindly?

    Yes they are pet friendly.

Didn't Ladera Grill use to serve breakfast on the weekends? Maybe a couple of years back? Trying to settle a bet.

Yes, they used to do brunch last year on Saturday and Sunday. Their chilaquiles were delicious!

Not fancy, but 2 cheeses, 2 meats, assorted nuts, olives (have pits be safe!) and grapes with a few slices of a nice crusty bread and these really good large cracker type bread that was just perfect to have with our sangrias. We sat outside while a great local band played, the heaters were perfectly warm, nice string lights, and a good atmosphere. We also ordered a coffee and a beer later on, but I forget what kind of beer. Was good, I just don't recall the beer or ale. Staff was pretty attentive most of the time. The reason for not 5 stars: while I was in the industry for almost 50 years, our server seemed to get bored with us at some point and we had to flag her down. It was busy so I understand but the attitude changed a bit. Also, we wanted an item on the menu from The website and it wasn't available as the website wasn't updated. Minor issue, but the server seemed annoyed. Next time I keep the menus so that doesn't happen again. Still, totally worth the visit and since I live in the area now I would love to become a regular! Next time I want to try the flatbread

The staff did a great job at decorating the space and making this outdoor concert feel like an intimate experience. The table setup made the crowd feel like they're apart of a community. At sunset, this winery has stunning views of their vineyards. The concert was great. Pasquale is a resident guest of the winery and has a phenomenal voice. The food offered (chicken marsala, sausage and peppers, and balsamic vinegar dressed salad) was underwhelming. The selection was limited and food was cold. By the time I got to the food table, they had run out of the sausage dish. The wine selection was very good though. I particularly liked a few of the white wines offered during the event. The staff and servers were all friendly. It is apparent they all enjoy working here. The donation-pushing felt a bit tacky, however. During the entirety of my visit, I felt like I was being asked to donate (at the table, during dinner, before and after the performance). Of course their cause (providing music lessons to children) is incredibly important and has left a clear impact on the program's students, but it ended up taking away from my experience (especially considering the high cost of the concert tickets). Side note: the parking situation is challenging. There are very few handicapped parking stalls with a tiny lot. On concert nights, parking is located across the road at the neighboring high school. If you are visiting with anyone that has mobility issues, definitely come early to secure close parking. If you get the chance to see a Pasquale Esposito concert here, I would definitely go!
