A wholesome venue. The Emilio Guglielmo Winery is a gorgeous venue. I came by for the anniversary Pasquale Esposito concert and had a great time. The staff did a great job at decorating the space and making this outdoor concert feel like an intimate experience. The table setup made the crowd feel like they're apart of a community. At sunset, this winery has stunning views of their vineyards. The concert was great. Pasquale is a resident guest of the winery and has a phenomenal voice. The food offered (chicken marsala, sausage and peppers, and balsamic vinegar dressed salad) was underwhelming. The selection was limited and food was cold. By the time I got to the food table, they had run out of the sausage dish. The wine selection was very good though. I particularly liked a few of the white wines offered during the event. The staff and servers were all friendly. It is apparent they all enjoy working here. The donation-pushing felt a bit tacky, however. During the entirety of my visit, I felt like I was being asked to donate (at the table, during dinner, before and after the performance). Of course their cause (providing music lessons to children) is incredibly important and has left a clear impact on the program's students, but it ended up taking away from my experience (especially considering the high cost of the concert tickets). Side note: the parking situation is challenging. There are very few handicapped parking stalls with a tiny lot. On concert nights, parking is located across the road at the neighboring high school. If you are visiting with anyone that has mobility issues, definitely come early to secure close parking. If you get the chance to see a Pasquale Esposito concert here, I would definitely go!

Visited Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill for the first time on a Friday afternoon. My friend and I drove down there to do a tasting and check out their Holiday Boutique. Wow, they really had a lot of amazing gift items to buy at their boutique, it's open 7 days a week until Christmas Day. They have unusual Christmas decorations including jellyfish, mermaid Nutcracker, and a lot of good jewelry options as well. The tasting room manager is very nice and gave some good overviews of the wines, the winery and the history. It was a chilly day but on warmer days, sitting outside on their sunny patio with a bottle of their wine would be very pleasant. I'll be back!

Was it luck or fate that we happened to come upon Guglielmo Winery's 100 year anniversary? To enjoy the moment, we sat outside to enjoy some wine tasting, served by the lovely woman managing the store. We enjoyed some olives and tapenade. We enjoyed walking around their facility. Overall, we enjoyed the experience.

I went here for my birthday and enjoyed the champagne flights! The place was close by to a brunch spot I tried and there was available parking at 1pm! As soon as I walked to the entrance there was a lot of available seating and shade available and a few spots available inside and luckily found a table inside. The workers were very nice and open to share their recommendations! They were also available to drop off our drinks to where we were staying. They provided some plates and utensils to enjoy a cake a friend had brought for me. I definitely will come back again when the weather gets cooler.

Best local family winery with the kindest staff, loveliest grounds and tons of amazing community events, from regular bottle your own wine events (BYOB recycling too!) to outdoor concerts, Mother's Day events and more, this is a true gem and I'm so happy to support every time we visit. Being a part of their wine club is a great deal, two free tastings each visit and you can always switch out bottles for something comparable if the bi monthly picks aren't to your taste. I recommend the estate zinfandels and sparkling rose. Not every bottle is going to be a 92 but there always something good and always something new to try. Love them and hope they never change. Also very family and pet friendly, with plenty of light snack options (salami, crackers, etc) in their shop though I recommend bringing your own food.

Walked in for a last minute wine tasting and Carol was the best!!! She had great conversation and was so knowledgeable about the brand and wine selections!

My boyfriend surprised me with a reservation at this beautiful winery. After a nice little stroll around the vineyard, he proposed, and of course I said yes! This has become our new favorite winery. The wine is wonderful, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is incredibly friendly. It's a must-visit!

Guglielmo really has to rethink this event! It's very lame getting more expensive to ,borrowing no music no snacks.

Guglielmo What happened to u guys with all the fun Events??!! Not happy with bottle ur own event anymore, come on Covid is overguys!! really have to do better, you raised the price but not worth it anymore. I took a whole group and some wanted to become members because I told them how fun you guys make it, but drove 3 hours for a boring sad experience event.

My review may be a little dated 1996 to be exact August 31. My parents hosted my wedding, had the most amazing day & party for all of our loved ones a blessed day for him & I. When I go there today I still feel the love! Don't miss this!!

Visited this place yesterday, April 29, 2024 after a hike in Uvas Canyon. My boyfriend and I were hiking with my fur baby Nimbus so we called to make sure that he would be allowed in. The female who took the call said that it would be fine. When we arrived to the tasting room, there was a sign that said "open" but there was a button to press for service. We hit the button and no one came within reason so we proceeded to enter. We were met with an older male and female. My boyfriend asked if we can do a tasting. The older gentleman explained that there was a list of tasting wines and it would be $15/ person. He explained how many of each type of wine there was and he asked what we would like. He said not to mention all of them at once, and because he would forget. I pretty much said I like sweet things, reds are not usually in my list of favored wines, go ahead with your sparkling and white and proceed in an order you find appropriate. My boyfriend thought that it was tasting by category; whites, reds, and sparkling. As I quickly explained with the older gentleman had said, the older gentleman seemed to be have a look of impatience. We tired our wines, some were good some were not to our liking. When the older gentleman was bringing out a bottle of one their mango, pineapple white wines (that my boyfriend just tried) my boyfriend explained that I probably wouldn't like that. When he did the older gentleman slammed the bottle at the bar and proceeded to get me another bottle of wine. This was an odd air. I was perturbed, but since he kept looking at something under the bar, possibly a cell phone, I linked it to maybe he's having a bad day or something going on in his personal life. Sadly, I do believe that if you have problems outside of work, they should be left at the door. After talking to him and the other woman they are actually retired so maybe it's just a place of fun for them. Which if that's the case, I hope it is fun for them - but he kind of gave me the vibe of off putting. He seemed a lot more kinder when he talked about wine tartar buildup on barrels - I am a science person so I appreciate knowing the workings behind things. He was not the most knowledgeable on that, and he did have some brain farts and hiccups with his execution of information. The woman who was also there is the saving grace of this visit. She was very kind, explained which items from their pantry area was made by them and which was not. She made it feel every rustic and homey vibes. She definitely gave me caring individual feelings. She further explained how the winery does multiple events and how fun they are. She did give us a date for a harvest festival in mid August of this year, and explained the live music events they would be starting soon. She added a personal touch when we said we just came back from hiking in Uvas, that she vacationed in a town right outside the canyon for several decades now. She even explained a little about how the town works. She even walked me over to show me where the almond wine was that was my finisher to my wine tasting. I love my vinegars, and she explained that there was a red wine vinegar that they made, and she offered us a taster after our wine tasting. This definitely was coming with us. The downside is there was no food for purchase that they made themselves that could go along with their wine tasting. The tasting, however, was only $15 so significantly cheaper than many. My boyfriend likes his zin, and the older gentleman said there was no open bottle to try when he asked. Their bathrooms are outside of the tasting room in a seperate structure so that was different. When I got home later that night to South Bay, I was rather displeased and unhappy. We were missing a bottle of white wine that we both enjoyed and wanted. We wanted the Cuvée and it was not with us when we got home. I was pretty unhappy considering that the older gentleman did put out a vibe, not necessarily the most positive one, I tried to talk to him and make conversation, and I did not leave with the first wine that hit my palate that I really really enjoyed that day. If you know me, I am not the most fond of wine so finding wines I like - I will buy the bottle when I leave. In addition, we surrounded what we were making for dinner based off the Cuvée! Dinner was a seafood pasted with a side of clams and bread. We also live in Mountain View, so an hour or so away so we were trying to get everything we wanted during this trip. Two stars, because I really enjoyed the woman's company, and her thoughtfulness, and the wine was good. Stars knocked off for customer service and for not ringing us up for the Cuvée.

Nice spot if you don't want to go to Napa. The tastings and flights are cheap at about $10-15pp, and you can pick up snacks like crackers and pesto in their mini market. There is a small area to walk around and take pictures where they hold their events/weddings.

Unfortunately it was. All were bad, some worse than others. The "champagne" had no bubbles. We noticed this before we began our tasting. They all tasted like they came from bottles that had been opened weeks before being poured for our tasting. My fiancé asked if they had tasted the wines that morning to QC, and the tasting room hostess said she had. She either has no clue what the wine should taste like or she lied. Maybe both. We heard that this winery has been changing hands frequently and that in the past had produced good wine. It's street parking only, but here that just means you'll be down a block or so instead of right in front. This is a smaller space located in an old school colonial style courtyard. There is seating at the counter for six (comfortably) to eight (if you are really friendly) and there are a couple of two spots based on empty barrels scattered around. For the most part you'll be at the counter. The decor is pretty standard wine tasting room stuff with the exception of the local art display. As far as the wine goes, you know how it is. One persons nirvana is another persons bread and butter and a third persons nausea. The wine to my uncultured palate is not great-but it is good. The reds on offer here are pretty decent. They are aiming for some exquisite spanish styles and well, stick with the reds. They are not quite where they want to be just yet. Even though (to my mind anyway) the wine is just okay, there is one area it becomes excellent. On my visit it was entirely possible to get a case of wine for forty bucks. Sure, it's not a perfect wine(very much so), but as I've said before perfect is the enemy of good enough and this wine is more then good enough especially at forty dollars a case. Heck at that price you could take a bath in it han dynasty style, harem not included. When its all said and done this is a charming, small (I would say terroir but that might only confuse people pianist style) very local winery not without it's small charms.

Drink two bottles of wine and get your steps in!…read more If you've never done a wine walk, wineries set up tables in shops and restaurants in a downtown area. Often they are stuck in the back so that you have to walk by the merch, but sometimes they are out front. They're usually manned by a pair of owners, managers, or growers. In the case of L&M Wineries, for example, we were served by both L and M. They're almost always patient and gracious, giving me a courtesy smile when I say it "tastes like grapes". Often you get just one pour, but you might get two if they have two different wines or you're charming. I have the charm of a bee in the car, but I get mine by wearing a cowboy hat and pretending I'm not a b-hole. Besides supplying a map, the downtown association ties balloons to the door to make them easy to find when your vision starts to blur. Then, people who paid $60 or so for wristbands and promotional glasses enjoy their easter egg hunt, getting 2-3 hours to drink and turn their teeth purple. After 7 years of Wine Walks in Los Gatos, Campbell, Willow Glen, and Mountain View, this was the first wine walk that used tickets. This meant you must submit a ticket at each of the twenty spots. They likely do this to curb people from getting "seconds", but even though I've never tried to get seconds at the other places, this restriction triggered me to do so. (My wife heard this and told me I'm not allowed to put my socks in the laundry basket). Anyway, next time I go, I am bringing pre-made index card fragments that read "Ha Ha Wines" or "Sucker! Winery" I had two pours of Fortino Winery at Maison A, and 1-2 pours of Martin Ranch at Sinaloa Cafe where a band Encore played a Tom Petty song. Had 1-2 pours of Guglielmo wines at Cigarland, 2 pours of Miramar at Noah's Bar, and 1-2 pours of Kirigin at Avery's Avenue. I may have gotten another pour from Sinaloa (by being nice) and allegedly from Maison (purportedly by using the ticket book cover), but I can't be certain. We got 1-2 pours of Aimee June wines at Betty's Bistro, 1-2 pours of Wildeye at Portraits by Rebecca, where the lines starting getting about 8 deep. Saw a dog parade (a highlight, as MHDA has many dog events). We got Verde at Bubbles and Brew, and L&M Wines at Studio 38. We got Moose Mountain at Craft Roots, Hecker Pass at Trail Dust, Solis at Urbn Ranch, Sarah's at Dezign Salon, Little Uvas from Rosy's at the Beach, Clos La Chance at Sushi Confidential, and Giorgio's for Lightpost Winery. We got a pour of Emmalily at Jewel Box where my wife got her ring cleaned (I didn't have cash for tips- next time I'll also make index cards that read "one money").

I signed up for the $100/4 bottles quarterly membership, and it's been great until recently. I noticed that they've been charging me $130 instead of $100 for the past 6 quarters without informing me of the change. I've gone in person to the San Martin location and spoke to two different people on two different occasions who told me the price should be $100 and that Theresa could fix it. I left my name and number, and no call from Theresa both times. Called the Hollister location today to resolve this issue. The person who picked up told me that they sent two notice emails out and that it probably went to my spam. I have never gotten a DeRose email in spam because it's been marked as "important" ever since I signed up for the membership. It turns out that I got one email about a sparkling wine event. At the bottom of that email is a short notice on membership price increases. There should be a separate email with the proper subject line and a dedicated message on the membership price increases. I'm not scrutinizing every event email for a potential price increase. I cancelled my membership. Not very happy and will not be supporting this business again in the future.

Castillo's Hillside Shire Winery Review from my visit on Sunday 5/17/2026…read more I was very excited to visit this location because the photos online looked absolutely stunning. The beautiful home and landscape are very well kept, and the winery itself is a cozy little spot nestled along the hillside. Prior to visiting, my friend kindly called about two weeks in advance to ask permission to take her graduation photos there so we wouldn't be imposing on their property. We were told it would be perfectly fine as long as we purchased a bottle of wine, which we happily agreed to. Unfortunately, upon arriving, our experience was disappointing. The woman working in the tasting room came across as very cold and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in. She repeatedly questioned us about taking photos and stated there was a $250 insurance charge required for photography on the property. When we explained that permission had already been given over the phone, she simply responded with "okay" before ringing me up for a $49 bottle of wine. What was most disappointing was the lack of kindness and professionalism. I was genuinely excited to visit this winery and support the business, but the uncomfortable interaction completely changed my perspective on the location. Hospitality goes a long way in the winery industry, and unfortunately, we did not feel welcomed here at all. Such a beautiful property, but sadly the customer service experience left a lasting impression, and not in a positive way.
