A low key, welcoming and enjoyable experience. Friendly service, low pressure setting. Nice air conditioning indoors on a hot day or sit outside with fresh air and take your time! We got a visit from Lucky the dog. A few snacks are also available for purchase.

Came here with my wife using a Groupon which was a great deal! The Groupon was $19 for two (4 pour) tastings, and a bottle of wine to take home! It ended up being almost a $50 value when you compare the pricing so I'd highly recommend! This is definitely a very "homey" winery near Morgan Hill / Gilroy that has a family feel to it! Nothing fancy, just plastic chairs, plastic tables, and plastic cups for the wine tasting! If you're looking to try a bunch of different wines on a budget, this is definitely the place to do it! Don't expect fancy service like up in Napa/Sonoma, but definitely expect a smile and a warm welcome from the owner! The only bummer about the experience was the lack of real wine glasses. I think that would really be a step up for this place!

My friend and I stopped by here on a whim when we were in the area. We are so glad that we did. The owner was super welcoming and we had a great time during our visit. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and they have a large variety of wines and wine styles to chose from.

A little late in taking the photo of our tasting flights. Delicious!

My hubby and I found this gem, a small family- owned winery. Carlo is an incredible host. We pulled in with our Honda off-road motorcycles in our truck, and it turns out he's also an avid rider. We enjoyed the wines - Zinfandel Ruby, Carignane Ruby, Rosè, Dolcetto Rosso, Marsala, Port. Lucky, the resident dog is so chill and friendly. This winery feels like home, beautiful setting, nothing pretentious, and so relaxing!

This winery had a very pretty patio and some really good tasty wines. I'm only a white wine drinker but my husband enjoyed not only the whites but the reds too. I had purchased a Groupon and it included a bottle of wine so we got to enjoy that wine that night. Also a very nice drive to the place, very scenic.

Can't say enough about how much we love Hecker Pass, Carlo & the team! Family owned, laid back vibe, friendly service & great wine for every taste (the Red Velvet is one of our favorite medium-bodied, the Chianti my favorite dry, and the Rose has been perfect for summer). With the transition to outdoor service due to COVID, they've arranged a great setup outside the tasting room and beneath a grape vine-covered arbor-- choose your wines, and a tasting sampler is delivered to minimize interactions. (Suggest calling ahead as I believe reservations are preferred due to county COVID regulations.) We are also planning our wedding at Hecker Pass and have been beyond grateful for Carlo's expertise, attention to detail & flexibility. We've had to reschedule several times due to he pandemic and he's been so accommodating-- even helping us put together a private elopement last minute, until we can hopefully have our big reception with family/friends next year. This has quickly become one of our favorite local spots to relax and enjoy our beautiful California weather with a glass of wine!

Amazing place for a wedding! Extremely cost effective and such a hidden gem. Everyone complemented us on how good the food was. So beautiful especially during the summer months. We got married in June and the vines were green, making it great for photos. Also, most of the tent drapery you see in the pictures were included!!

The first thing I want to say is that Carlo is amazing!! I been meaning to post this review for a while now, but here we go. We had our wedding at this beautiful winery during this pandemic, and because of it, we had to reschedule the wedding. Carlo was ALWAYS super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I am so glad that he made this process so much easier as we had to reschedule once. We had been planning our wedding for over a year. From day 1 to the wedding day, we had such a good experience that I would definitely have another event here. My family and friend were amazed at the costumer service we received by Carlo and his team, and we all had such an amazing time even though we decided to get married during this pandemic. Carlo's winery is family owned, the cost of our wedding was very reasonable, and the most important of all, it is the fact that we felt like we were treated like family by Carlo and not just as another couple trying to get married. Again, we just want to say how grateful we are that our special day was more than we expected it to be. Also, I added some of our engagement photoshoot photos :). They were taken at the winery as well.

My husband and I had a wedding last June at Hecker Pass Winery. It was a great experience. Carlo rescued us. We had booked another venue, had gotten all our vendors for our wedding date, had sent out the wedding invitations to guests, etc. before it became apparent our venue was having legal permit issues that were unlikely to be resolved in time for our wedding. Carlo was easy to work with. He was flexible with all the vendors we already had and helped pull everything together. I had a wedding coordinator, but honestly my caterer (Mama Mia's Tiffany) and Carlo did more coordinating than my wedding coordinator did. Other perks: Pretty vineyard, sweet winery dog named Lucky, and amazing rosé. We booked the winery before the rosé was released, but we were so pleasantly surprised. It has become my favorite rosé. I will continue to return for more of it.

Well, very fine wine but one of the owners (pouring us the tastings) was obviously wishing he were elsewhere. Still, I really liked the wines but the tasting room experience is decidedly not upscale. Actually, taste-wise this is one of the best I experienced in the area.

First, you must try the Ruby Zinfandel. It is AMAZING and my favorite wine here. The main thing I am reviewing is the La Vigna event center here, where I had my wedding in June 2013. I highly recommend this place for a wedding! Carlo is the winery owner's son and manages the event center. This is a small family winery and the personal touch is apparent. The location is super beautiful and the layout is wonderful in terms of the ceremony/ dining/ dance layout-- the best I have seen. The wedding package was wonderful and affordable-- it included everything from chairs, tables, basic linens, wine, other drinks, and food if desired. The food was amazing and they worked with us to get it exactly how we wanted. For instance they took my husband's family recipe for chicken and made it perfectly! They also took the pasta I tried and made it less oily so that it was exactly what I wanted. They even made the fruit salad with only the good fruits we liked-- no melons :) We used the preferred vendors who were all wonderful and they all worked together seamlessly. Carlo and his staff are like personal friends who do everything they can to make sure your day is perfect. They worked tirelessly behind the scene and took care of everything. Our wedding day was extremely hot (110 degrees F!) and Carlo worked with the other vendors on last minute accommodations for the cake and flowers to survive the heat. The facilities are essentially all outside, so there was not much escape from the heat unfortunately. There is, however, a little bridal room which was air-conditioned nicely-- lucky me :) Guests had plenty of drinks available upon arrival so people were taken care of. Our guests loved the location and the food got RAVE reviews. I am so glad we had our wedding at Hecker Pass and highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you Carlo!

    Choices galore!!!!!

$5 to taste 5 wines. Generous pours. Stephanie was so sweet, just like the wine! I tried the 2 sweet wines and the 3 dessert wines. All were priced at $25 a bottle. A sign said the wines were 50% off but she didnt mention it. The wines themselves were delicious. Lots of varieties to choose from too! I didn't end up getting a bottle though because it was a bit too pricey for me and I have about a dozen bottles of wine at home that I don't know what to do with. I know what you're saying, you're saying, um, drink it. Ill get to it. Anyway, stop by this place if you're in the area.

The price was right, the coordinator Charlene was so helpful and the place was so beautiful and simple. Things I loved: -Outside patio for outdoor ceremony -bridal room -food was tasty - open bar, we did a his and hers drink -very spacious for 200 people - restrooms were nice and clean - very intimate setting - space did not feel crowded - catering team was friendly and quick to help clear tables Wedding planning is sooooo overwhelming but it felt so nice to have Charlene help us every step of the way. She was very prompt with responding to our questions and we even hired her as our onsite coordinator for our wedding day which was the best decision we could have made. Everything for the most part went smooth and I never felt stressed. I am only giving them 4 stars because I do feel like they can make some improvements with their food tasting. My husband and I were a little disappointed that we had to taste the same food versus each trying something different. We expressed our concerns and they were able to accommodate us with a second tasting since we were not satisfied with our first tasting. Also, we told the catering team that we had a friend that was vegan. They served him a plate with salad and strawberries. In a way that was our fault for not checking in with them with what the actual plate would be. My friend was a good sport about it but I felt so bad because he was really hungry. Lastly, our package included one hour to clean up after the ceremony ended but all my guests were rushed out by security leaving just my parents, myself and a couple of bridesmaids to gather our belongings. If they didnt rush everybody out we could have had more people help with taking down our personal decorations and not felt so rushed and stressed to get out. At this point Charlene was no longer in the building since she was with us since the morning but I do hope that in the future security respects that one hour and does not kick guests out. Overall, beautiful venue, amazing coordinator and great price! Despite the small complaints and hiccups, I would highly recommend this place as a wedding venue.

We assumed it must be a popular spot and decided to go for some wine tasting. The view of the winery was beautiful, but parking off the highway was limited. Additional parking was available in the gravel areas along the road, but be cautious when parking a low sports car, as there are rough spots with dips and larger rocks. Drive in slowly. Watch out for passing by vehicles, especially after your tasting. When we arrived, the hostesses welcomed us warmly and seated us quickly near the DJ, who was engaging with guests, playing loud tunes from mostly the '80s. Most of the customers appeared to be local families and friends hanging out. The bartender was pleasant and welcoming. Most servers seemed friendly and attentive to tables, but we had to wait 15 minutes for our assigned server, Alex, to take our order. While Alex was pleasant, he spent most of his time prioritizing and working other larger tables, leaving us waiting for long periods between wine pours. We came to the winery to sample some wines, and we were not disappointed with our selection, although we wished Alex would have more knowledge of the wines and take the time to provide us with more history of the winery. We chose to sample their range of whites and reds, and they were all nice except for the Zinfandel and one of the Chardonnays. We ended up purchasing a bottle of dry rosé, which we liked as a nice sipping on a warm day. Looking back, we could have easily served ourselves with one of the bottles purchased while we were there, which would have been a better experience. The menu had a variety of drinks, including whites, reds, mixed drinks, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a couple of choices of crackers. We observed that many tables brought their own snacks and food, which seems to be permitted at this winery. Overall, we were glad we stopped in to sample some of this winery's offerings. However, if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere without loud music, this may not be the place for you. We found it to be too loud and not the typical winery experience we were accustomed to. Unfortunately, the slow service by Alex made our first visit less enjoyable than we had hoped. For years, based on the promotional photos I saw, I avoided the Gilroy Gardens (GG) family theme…read morepark. I thought it would be tacky and hyper-commercialized. Curiosity, together with my wife's desire to see the place, finally got the better of me--and I discovered that I had been wrong. GG in my opinion manages to strike the best balance that any such theme park probably can in terms of appealing to the masses while at the same time avoiding the trap of being tacky or hyper-commercialized. The varied rides and exhibits are pleasant and well-maintained. Some are even quite artistic (like the totem poles, illustrated in the image attached here) and educational (like the ecologically oriented Green Barn). If you're already familiar with GG, you don't need me to tell you about it. If you're not, here are a few tips--which might not be obvious to the uninitiated--that might help you better enjoy it: * The lines for the rides can be very long at times. You might end up waiting for an hour before it's your turn. Best to be prepared for that and plan it into your itinerary. * We noticed a small number of people who avoided the lines for all rides, being let in through the back gate/exit. When we asked about this at the Welcome Center, we learned that GG sells yellow wristbands that allow people to skip the long lines and enter through the "back door" (exit). They cost something like $85 per person for the year or about $30 per visit, in addition to the membership fee. * Even with those wristbands, you'll need more than one visit to see and do everything here. Rushing around a lot will spoil the fun. * The food everywhere, as far as we could tell, is pretty bad. You'll be ahead of the game if you pack your own, which will also avoid your waiting in another line. * The big secret, so to speak, of GG is "hidden" in plain sight--in the second word of the name itself, "Gardens." Most visitors are so preoccupied with going on the rides that they miss out on the natural beauty of the gardens. We found Camellia Garden and Claudia's Garden, in particular, to be like sheltered oases of calm and natural beauty within the hustle and bustle of the park. In our opinion, the three most obvious ways in which GG could be improved are as follows: 1. Improve the quality of the food that's offered. With all the traffic the park gets, those concession stands must be worth a small fortune. Either get them to do better or replace them with businesses that will. 2. Design a more user-friendly map. Those who already know their way around don't need a map but for those who don't, the existing map is not sufficiently clear (hint: it probably needs to be larger). 3. Do a better job of training the staff, in terms of both knowledgeability and attitude. Some are quite good (a special shout out to Nina at the Welcome Center and Sean at the Garlic Twirl ride: they exuded both warmth and professionalism) but others, who shall remain nameless, need more training. Minus one star for those deficiencies, as well as for not making it sufficiently clear at the time of the 2026 premium membership purchase that the bring-a-friend tickets that came with the membership had to be picked up almost immediately or they would not be available.

Review update for the start of 2026 season:…read more I expected the park to be refreshed and in top top shape for the start of the season. They just opened for the season! Unfortunately, I didn't find that was the case. We went during spring break on a weekday, and found it was more packed than usual. With that, it's no surprise considering local schools were on break. What was surprising to me was how dirty some of the rides (the caterpillar is an example) were. I feel like all of the attractions need a good pressure washing and clean up before busy season starts. We were also surprised to learn that they're now a cashless park. I'm not sure when they stopped accepting cash ( I usually use a card ) but wanted to highlight it for visitors to plan accordingly! Will be updating this review later into the season. Fingers crossed they just haven't checked some of the cleaning off the to do list yet!

But the more I work inside the semiconductor industry, the more I want to get away from the noise, the people, and be w/ the animals. When animals are hungry, they eat. When animals are tired, they sleep. When there are conflicts, they fight. They have no hidden agenda. They will love you unconditionally no matter what you bring to the table. Booking the reservation was easy. You pay half of it first to secure the timeslot. At the time of your reservation, you will be asked to pay the remaining balance. Paying cash will give you 10% off. You can bring children and even your dogs! They have a small area for kids to play. You can bring fruits/vegetables or purchase food for $10. All of their animals (cows, chickens, alpacas, goats, rabbits, and dogs) are secured. You can feed them, take selfies w/ them, and pet them but you cannot be inside the enclosures. The cats are healthy and friendly, they roam the property. There wasn't a single area I saw that wasn't maintained. Every animal and every enclosure were clean and well taken care of. Jasmine and Andrew were personable, friendly, and you can see how much love and patience they radiate. I cannot wait to head back. This time I will bring Gavin. From that day on, I decided to stop consuming lamb, goat, and a day after turkey. i am not trying to be vegan or a vegetarian but I wanted to reduce my carbon footprint what w/ all the AI data centers and the artic no longer being protected, I just feel it's my duty to do my part in helping preserve this planet not just for my kids, but for all living beings on this planet - mainly the animals.

We had our choice of indoor and outdoor seating, and opted for the nice covered outdoor patio. They had a good amount of seating in each area, and had a lot of shade outside, which is absolutely necessary in Gilroy. The patio and grass area was very pretty, filled with lots of plants and even a sculpture. The property is also next to a plant nursery, so that added to the beauty even beyond their property line. We were helped by Melissa, and she was great! They had two tasting flights of 4 wines to choose from on our visit, one of which included a white and reds, while the other was all reds. They did also have some extra bottles open, so they were able to make an all white wine flight for one in our party. The pours were a good size, enough to really get a feel for the wine and share a taste with others. Two of us ended up taking home the same bottle of pinot noir.

I started my membership back, thought we'd utilize the wine tasting. First time back in over 6 months they did not bring us a menu, did not tell us what we were tasting and that was not a good feeling. On out third pour same day- fist day back we were accused of trying to get an extra pour Aaron asked what pour we were on, we didn't have a response because we didn't have the menu, we were accused of getting any extra pour? Not our responsibility to keep track, and if you did an extra pour what is the big deal? The comment made us feel uncomfortable, we stayed and purchased a bottle from their reserved red wine. This Saturday we went with another couple and my granddaughter. All was fine untill our third pour, we paid extra for the reserved tasting and it was a splash not a tasting pour. We discussed if we should say anything at all, and we decided to ask for a decent pour. My husband went in , talked to Aaron, he declined and dismissed us. Aaron said we had a decent pour, even though he was not around to see what was poured?? Typically a winery allows more than the 4 or 5 tasting, how else will you know if you like it enough to purchase a bottle. If a winery treats members that way it's time to end membership, and we did. Staff is like family at S V, we got the cold shoulder once my husband spoke with Aaron. We paid for our tasting, tipped our server. We will not revisit this establishment again. It was a nice place till it wasn't We have too many wineries nearby to allow staff to make you feel a certain way.
