Had a pretty disappointing experience here on my first visit for a girls' wine day. We came in excited to try somewhere new, do a tasting, and hopefully buy a few bottles to enjoy on the grounds, but the service immediately felt cold and uncomfortable. The staff member behind the bar greeted us with a blank, deadpan stare (otherwise known as a "GenZ Stare") that made the whole interaction feel awkward from the start. When we mentioned it was our first time visiting and that we were excited to be there, there was no warmth, no enthusiasm, and no effort to tell us about the wines or the property. Even the pours seemed careless. I know this is Gilroy and not Napa, but I still expected a welcoming experience and better wine service. Unfortunately, both the service and the wine itself were disappointing. The best part of this place was definitely the beautiful grounds, which would make a gorgeous wedding setting. Maybe this place is better suited as an event venue than a wine tasting destination, but based on my experience, I would not return. The two stars are for the beautiful grounds. read more

Kirigin is our new favorite winery in Gilroy and Monterey bay!!! Simply amazing wine and even more amazing wine clubs!! They have a huge selection of reds and their desert wine is to die for. They also host large events. I absolutely love the ambiance of the tasting room, which includes a very long tasting bar for those crowded days. By all means, allow a couple of hours for this tasting, you'll enjoy your time here. The downside, I'm currently living in MN and there's no shipping offered to that state, otherwise we would have joined a wine club. read more

My family of 10 (including 3 kids/babies) came here on a holiday weekend. We showed up around 10:30am and easily found parking. The grounds are beautiful (we saw a wedding being set up) and we were able to snap a few pictures before it was closed off for the wedding. We ate some snacks and enjoyed some wine in the shaded picnic table area which was great. It wasn't too hot and it allowed our toddler daughter to walk around without disrupting others. We tasted wine inside. We were quickly greeted and helped by Pam. She was absolutely great. She was very knowledgeable about the wines (educated us about the grapes, tasting notes, and award winning wines) and helped us decide which wines best suited our individual palates. She was very sweet and made us sure we had a wonderful time while still pouring for others (it was busy by the time we left!). We had a great time and look forward to coming back. I've been coming here for years on my days off for usual wine tasting and visiting the venue with my dogs. Friday we came in and enjoyed the wine tasting and a pleasant conversation with Pam, I believe, so that was good. As I'm just walking around looking at flowers and taking pictures with my phone, an older long haired blonde woman tells me I'm not allowed to do that in a condescending way...like I've never been told that since visiting here. Walked back and asked Pam and another gentlemen why so, so they gave me the understanding. The point to be made is, this unexpected interaction just ruined our visit and left early, unacceptable! Two stars taken away for this lady and three stars for usual wine tasting. I would post pics of beautiful flowers and experience of our visit to support this winery for others but can't because of this rude lady. read more

This is a quaint little winery in Morgan Hill. To top it off the wine is easy drinking and tastes great. I ended up joining the wine club. What a great price for an every day wine that doesn't need to age. Will look forward to picking up my shipments and enjoying wine through the year! read more

Beautiful setup of the estate and the picnic area and they also have a nice lawn with flowers for weddings. Our waitress for pouring is friendly and even open a new bottle for us when we didn't taste the goodness of petite Syrah as she'd liked. Wine are ok, a few of them are not bad but in general they don't have much tannins. Rather fruity and ready to drink kind of wine. The pricing is interesting, if you buy 6 bottles it's 30% off, 12 bottles are 50% off and you can also go with 36. Wine tasting is $10, super reasonable these days. The vino de mocha is a nice dessert wine. We also like the Melbec and the Malvasia Bianca. read more

Very nice lady hosted us. We were a large group, with a reservation, so they should have expected us, but she was the only one, so to say the tasting was "slow" is an understatement. We were fortunate to have attended a party at the Kirigin Cellars. Th entire event was absolutely first class. The wine tasting was absolutely wonderful. We were offered a large variety of wines and the servers were all well informed about the wines and vintages. We are particularly impressed that the grapes for all the varietals offered are grown right there on the estate. The party room is spacious and beautiful. One caveat, the room is very live, severely lacking in noise abatement décor. Restrooms are large and sparkling clean. Parking is convenient and ample and near the entrance. If you are looking for an afternoon of winetasting or for an event venue I can highly recommend Kirigin Cellars. read more

My sister had her wedding here and it was great. We also did the rehearsal here too. For the rehearsal we met in the tasting room then went to the wedding area. We bought a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc. It was pretty decent on a hot day. Their wines were affordable. You can taste for $10 but then have to buy a bottle but that $10 is used for credit, so essentially if you pick a $10 wine you paying for a bottle with free tasting. Haha. As for the wedding, it was beautiful. The ceremony on the field. Then the reception in the back area. It had AC, so that was nice. I'm not gonna lie, their wines are not the best compared to the big players like Sonoma and Napa, but compared to Gilroy, it's fine. The staffs are also super nice! I got to visit Kirigin Cellars whenever I was still dating my last boyfriend as his family is member of this winery. It was for an event that they had which had pizza, ice cream w/ wine, and of course wine! Haha.. I enjoyed the pizza as I chose a slice of Indian pizza, and it was tasty! The ice cream was pretty yum as well. The wines that I tried were pretty good. I think I had a glass of pinot noir and a glass of a white one that was supposed to have notes of lychee. The grounds were pretty nice. I remembered I spent most of the time there chatting with his parents as he was always running around with his kiddo which is okay. But I could sense that the relationship was fading a bit. I think it was one of our last dates before our breakup. Oh wells..but I'm glad that I got to visit another winery. read more

Location and atmosphere 10/10 the main reason for our visits. That along with being pet and family "friendly". I have been going to this location late 2020 during pandemic it was perfect for social distance fun with friends with a glass of some wine. I liked so much had a Gold membership for 2 years. It became the mom group oasis we went 1-2 a week during summer breaks. Until Customer service and wine itself was inconsistent along with their "policy". Their policy is something that the employees know but depends on the day and the mood if they want to enforce anything. Many empty weekdays employees were chill and let us stay all day. Back in 2021 they had 2 hour time limits and they said that was due to the pandemic but they are more lax these days. Today a Monday with a handful of people at picnic tables, 0 in tasting area and 0 in picnic area, our group of 3 adults arrive with our total 5 children. I go in to check in at 12:45pm advised we were going to enjoy the picnic area. Bill was awesome got my bottles of wine I payed for opened one bottle and try to convince me of a membership as I told him I cancelled due to price increases and bad experiences. I told him I would reconsider since he sold me and I would discuss with my husband. Come 3pm a salt and pepper bearded man told my group while I was at the bathroom that they were having an event tomorrow and needed to begin set up in the space so they can leave by 5. And asked to move from the location. So when I arrived back from the restroom we moved to a different grass area. Then a lady on her golf cart comes by and says we need to leave now rudely. We begin packing our stuff and gathering our 5 kids items when the man comes back. He said was I not clear. I said no and communication was lacking like your sign says 4:45pm and she said leave now at 3:30pm. He was semi apologetic saying they have an event tomorrow (a Tuesday) and their employees want to leave at 5 so need to set up now and that they have a policy of 1 bottle per hour per adult. I said Bill never mentioned this policy when we purchased the bottles. We could have purchased more wine if it was expressed to us the policy at any point besides after they advice us to leave the picnic area before closing. My friend wanted to buy wine and go to picnic tables but I was beyond irritated by the treatment I left. There is no written visible policy there or online on time limits or minimum purchases. Actually the owner wrote on yelp that 2 wine bottles purchased per household was limit to picnic, no time limit listed. They are inconsistent on when they want to enforce their "policy". I am glad interaction happened as solidified things haven't changed that they aren't friendly. I have enjoyed all the tasting specialists. But grounds people were rude. Telling my kids not to play on grass because they want to water it. Or don't go near the flowers. All the rules make sense if it was consistent, clearly stated and kindly explained. We aren't there to fight but to enjoy ourselves with the views, wine and company. I did not renew membership and I am on the hunt for a winery for my family and friends. read more

So, I've gotta give this place 5 stars and there is one major reason that I'll just get to right off the top. They have VERY inexpensive wine that's actually really good. We bought four bottles before we left and our $10 tastings (2x) contributed to those four bottles. I asked why they are so cheap and the person behind the counter said they make most of their revenue from events so the owner decided to just keep the wine in the lower price ranges. They do have some bottles at $38 but that's the highest. We liked the Zinfandel and it was only $9.90. I wouldn't barely consider buying that at Total Wine for that price, but, it was great here. Also, the grounds are very cool and "old world" in style. It's not even really a style because the place is over 100 years old. It feels like you're on the Italian countryside enjoying some wine, "vin ordinare". The spelling is wrong, but, the sense is there. Everyday wine. If we lived here, the Zin could be our everyday wine. We took a bottle and hung out at the shaded picnic tables outside. They even have free WiFi since the AT&T cell service is so bad, if not non-existent. read more

I love Kirigin Cellars! I have come here about a dozen times now and they never disappoint. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. The inside of the tasting room is so cozy and I love the wood fire - I just wish there were chairs to sit up at the bar with. My favorite wine is the barbera but I tried some new wines this time, including the delicious Syrah and the new blend of the sweet wine. We visited this place on our way back from Sacramento. We have an event scheduled here next year and decided to swing by to check it out. The Drink I don't frequent vineyards or wineries that often, but it is a nice once in a while experience with friends. I got a chance to experience Kirigin Cellars, one of California's oldest wineries. Between the few of us, we got two bottles to try, but unfortunately I forgot what they were . The first bottle was fairly light in taste, with more hint on the floral taste than alcohol. The second bottle had a more "proper" wine taste to it if you will, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Besides the two bottles for share, we also decided to buy some bottles individually. They had a special deal so we all decided to get a few bottles. - Kirigin's Delight - Cabernet Sauvignon - Pinot Noir - Vino de Mocca They have a good selection of wine available if you are looking for something new. The Miscellaneous The vineyard itself was not difficult to find, and plenty of parking. (spare parking lot nearby) As you enter, you might notice quite the scenic field view in the distance. Especially during cooler spring or fall weather. During the current pandemic, only outdoor seating is available. But the winery is quite spacious with a nice outdoor picnic area. Kirigin Cellars have a good selection of wines to choose from at quite the reasonable price. They also offer promotions on top of that. It pains me to write this review but their new policy for picnicking with larger groups is insane. We were a group of 8 adults and 7 kids that wanted to buy bottles and picnic for a few hours. We used to be members for over 10 years but cancelled recently. They charge $10 per adult per hour. We weren't hosting a party....just buying bottles to have some food, good company, and great location. From the check in, they wanted the money up front...the lady even denied tastings for the group (I'll pour a couple for you but that's it)... We inquired about rejoining the club membership and Pam mentioned "it wouldn't have mattered anyways". Show me a winery that doesn't incentivize membership. Instead, when we checked out we were forced to buy the bottles we had prepaid for. Pam gave us a smirk at the end saying "3 hrs huh, it's not our first rodeo" because you know how dare we stay on those empty lawns for 4 hours instead. What a joke this place has become. I would give zero stars if I could. Walked in for a late afternoon tasting and waited patiently to be served since there were only two people serving guest. We were ignored and never acknowledged after standing behind guest who were in the middle of tastings. After 15 min of waiting we recognized a couple walk in who were at a winery we just visited. They walked right up and were immediately served. We waited a few more minutes in hopes of being served since my sister is a local and has previously had a good experience. We ended up leaving! I was there with a friend on the Wine Trolley. The final tasting took place in the event center due to our group of 30 people. 3 tastings were good, however my friend had a pour of Sauvignon Blanc, the employee didn't empty her glass of the red she had left and poured the Sauv Blanc, it looked like Rose! I am a wine club member and got up from my seat, went over to ask for a clean glass of Sauv Blanc. I did receive the pour, however there was 1 employee pouring for the group of 30! After visiting a second time, I need to bump Kirigin Cellars up to a 5 star. My friends and I visited for a tasting on a Saturday (late) afternoon, and had no issues showing up as walk-ins (as a group of 6). The tasting room was lovely, with a big wooden bar, pleasant ambiance, and attentive staff members. Our tastings included 5 wines, and the price of the tastings could be applied towards the purchase of a bottle(s) at the end. I genuinely loved every single wine I tried, especially the Barbera, Petite Sirah, and Owner's Reserve. My friends were also impressed with the selection and we ended up happily purchasing two bottles. We stayed until the tasting room closed at 5 PM, and then took a quick walk around the grounds. The patio seating area was so pleasant (and shady) and the vineyard itself was beautiful, with a great view of the green rolling hills behind it. Would happily return for more great wine! read more

Kirigin Cellars was recommended to me by one of my friends, who happens to be a wine club member. We actually came to the winery together because she was picking up an order of wine! My friends and I all had tastings, and had the pleasure of being hosted by the owner himself! We had such a wonderful and intimate tasting experience that he curated to our individual palettes! I've been to many "upscale" CA wineries in Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles, and I have to say there is just something so special about Kirigin Cellars. All of the wines we tasted were very well balanced. I'm not a huge fan of Chardonnay but I found it to be extremely refreshing. Prices here are unbeatable, even if you aren't a wine club member. We opted to go for 3 cases of one (one for each of us). Each case was priced at $110 plus tax. 12 bottles for $110? How can I say no? Needles to say, my other friend and I both walked out as wine club members. We can't wait to come back again next time! :) read more

This is my favorite and most visited winery. I found them as I was traveling with kids and this place was kids friendly. They can be in the tasting room or outside. Their wines are good and like mostly their Owner Reserv series. I was lucky to have 101 and I loved it. Their purchase discounts on quantity are really good. They start at 6 bottles and give great discount. I usually take 6 bottles every time I go there and I don't have to be a club member. I also like the venue. It looks just right amount of fancy and also as working winery. The production facilities are just there and also the grape plants. The staff is always very welcoming and easy going. I hate do this but tonight around 4:50pm we had an extremely rude worker. On a golf cart he went around and was really aggressive when telling people to leave. To the point that he was threatening that he was going to lock everyone's cars in the parking lot if we didn't get out in 5 min. I understand that the lawn closes early and then Kirigin closes at 5. We had small kids running around and for him to be like was unnecessary. A friend of ours went into the winery to talk to the manager, which he said he was: and asked her if she couldn't read since there was a sign. Please know this is not acceptable for anyone to talk to someone like that, especially people coming to spend money on YOUR wine. I hope something is done about this because we do like coming to your winery. This was the email sent to a manager and no reply what a disappointment to our community and an embarrassment to their establishment. Hopefully this "manager" is no longer employed. read more

The area is like a postcard! Picture perfect and breath taking! What a great setting to see new plants in! Proven Winner is a collection marketing company taking the best genetics and building a brand of plants. This winery is where they choose to hold their new item and marketing show case for the week. What a spot!! The plants are almost secondary to the surroundings. It is truly beautiful! However PW also had quite a few new introduction winners as well. One of my favorites was the Rockin Fuchsia Salvia... it is a stunning plant and a true new introduction in color! It will be an awesome addition to our plant lines in 2019. The Cats Pajamas is another real breakthrough in a class of plants (nepeta) that have been pretty unwieldy in the Perennial world to date. Over all a great stop to start the day! read more

We just had our wedding at Kirigin, and it was better than we expected despite COVID-19, wildfires, and a heat wave! The hills around the property are very picturesque! The property had a variety of potential ceremony/reception locations and wide open outdoor spaces that were perfect for group photos (and social distancing). Dhruv, the owner, was incredibly responsive and generous in accommodating multiple changes to the ceremony/reception plans. The wine is also tasty, with the Vino de Mocca (wine with coffee+chocolate) being a particular favorite for the non-wine drinkers who attended the wedding. read more

This place is gorgeous! I've been here a couple times and love strolling the property throughout the tasting. The staff were very friendly and the wine was good, my fave was the Chardonnay. Most recently I came during COVID and they require you to buy a bottle ($10) which also comes with 4 tastings. The tastings are small and if it's crowded they will move you along pretty quickly. But then you can take your purchased bottle and sit in the pretty grounds and hang out. read more
