Had such a nice afternoon tasting at Sarah's Vineyard! We came right as they opened on a Sunday in September and had the whole place to ourselves. We had our choice of indoor and outdoor seating, and opted for the nice covered outdoor patio. They had a good amount of seating in each area, and had a lot of shade outside, which is absolutely necessary in Gilroy. The patio and grass area was very pretty, filled with lots of plants and even a sculpture. The property is also next to a plant nursery, so that added to the beauty even beyond their property line. We were helped by Melissa, and she was great! They had two tasting flights of 4 wines to choose from on our visit, one of which included a white and reds, while the other was all reds. They did also have some extra bottles open, so they were able to make an all white wine flight for one in our party. The pours were a good size, enough to really get a feel for the wine and share a taste with others. Two of us ended up taking home the same bottle of pinot noir. read more

Bitter Sweet writing this review. I had my husband's 60th here and visited a few times with co workers and friends, good times ! Put my membership on hold due to not using it . I started my membership back, thought we'd utilize the wine tasting. First time back in over 6 months they did not bring us a menu, did not tell us what we were tasting and that was not a good feeling. On out third pour same day- fist day back we were accused of trying to get an extra pour Aaron asked what pour we were on, we didn't have a response because we didn't have the menu, we were accused of getting any extra pour? Not our responsibility to keep track, and if you did an extra pour what is the big deal? The comment made us feel uncomfortable, we stayed and purchased a bottle from their reserved red wine. This Saturday we went with another couple and my granddaughter. All was fine untill our third pour, we paid extra for the reserved tasting and it was a splash not a tasting pour. We discussed if we should say anything at all, and we decided to ask for a decent pour. My husband went in , talked to Aaron, he declined and dismissed us. Aaron said we had a decent pour, even though he was not around to see what was poured?? Typically a winery allows more than the 4 or 5 tasting, how else will you know if you like it enough to purchase a bottle. If a winery treats members that way it's time to end membership, and we did. Staff is like family at S V, we got the cold shoulder once my husband spoke with Aaron. We paid for our tasting, tipped our server. We will not revisit this establishment again. It was a nice place till it wasn't We have too many wineries nearby to allow staff to make you feel a certain way. read more

2 friends and I visited on a Sat afternoon at 1pm; the weather was lovely so we sat outside. We ordered some snacks and I had a standard flight. They offered complimentary starter Sparkling Wine which was light and bright. Chardonnay that was buttery Pinot Noir that was fruity Syrah that was flavorful They also closed with a port which was rich and not too thick Every single drink was great. We had a pretty decent time here at Sarah's vineyard. My husband and I each ordered a tasting. The initial glasses came pretty quickly but then they slowed down a bit. We were in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal. The waitress was knowledgeable on the wines and informed us of what we were consuming. The views are really pretty outside. Inside is a nice cozy feel. Great wine tasting experience. We were drawn to this location due to the fact that they stayed open until 5:00pm, which gave us more time to relax and explore. The tasting consisted of four tastings with the Viognier being our favorite. Service was great as well. Pets are allowed which we personally enjoyed seeing and petting the puppies. Love Sarah's vineyard! I like almost every red I have ever had here, especially love their Pinot. I've brought friends that have raved about the white wines and told me I'm missing out... My husband and I are consistently impressed with Melissa's knowledge of the wine and her ability to make wine club members feel special. We live fairly close (Morgan Hill) so are able to come often and listen to live music when they have it. It is a beautiful, comfortable, casual setting where we can enjoy some great wine with our own picnic or purchased Charcuterie. Arriving at Sarah's Vineyard was quite a journey. Trust your instincts as you drive along country roads, knowing the end is near. When you do get here, you are ready to drink a whole bottle of wine. But I didn't, because someone has to drive back to the hotel room to crash. Sarah's wines were nice, especially the wonderful woman who brought out the sample bottles. My first time at this vineyard and I was very pleased with my experience. I came here with my sister and her hubby and baby since they're members and we did the flights. I'm no connoisseur or wine sommelier, but I do know that all of the wines we tasted were good! The reds, especially, were very delicious! The rose garden around were really pretty and there was a big music symbol as a statue that added a fun and cute touch! Also, the employees were very friendly, cheerful, and super pleasant to communicate with, even through the heat haha. Definitely want to come back again! read more

Sarah's Vineyard was such an amazing experience. We went as it's was my daughter "Sarah's 21st" . It was amazing right from driving up to this beautiful venue. The wines were SO good but it's the people that make this place feel extra special. They were so warm and welcoming. The winemaker even came out to say Happy Birthday and tell us about their wines. Beautiful location and atmosphere. Just keep your eyes out for the sign, altho the winery sign is highly visible, my GPS lead me right past their driveway. We stopped by at 4:40pm to pick up our wine membership and didn't expect a tasting since it was so close to closing. Melissa, who is the main reason we signed up to become members, insisted we sit and do the tasting since she remembered we traveled from Hollister. We had THE WORST experience at a Alara in Morgan Hill because we got there at 5:40 and they closed at 6. We didn't want to put that on Melissa but she insisted we complete a tasting and even remembered our days off. We love coming here and our time with Melissa! She welcomed our son in with open arms. Really like this place! We came last Friday night. They had tacos for sale the only thing is they ran out 1 hour and a half into it. No condiments left. And started putting tiny amounts of meat to spread out the taco servings. We were going to DoorDash but you can't bring outside food which I would rather buy there to support! Very last second visit to Sarah's on the way to Santa Cruz last weekend and we fell in love with the place! Lots of comfortable seating outside with a bocci ball court and love music area. No pretentious vibe here! We did the $15 tasting each and liked each wine more than the next. I'm not a avid wine drinker myself but they staff inside were happy to fill me in on all the wine jargon! This place does start picking up in the afternoon so make sure you get there a little early to find a great spot. Also don't forget to bring snacks or picnic to share with friends. This is a beautiful vineyard located in Gilroy. The tasting room is aesthetically pleasing and the staff is informative and friendly. They do offer cheese and salami packs on the side, but they do t serve you cheese or aperitifs. I had a reservation on a Wednesday at 1:30pm, only 2 other parties were there. Had their standard tasting: 2 whites and 2 reds, $15 for the flight. Tip: ask if they have any other bottles open in the back - if they do, you may be able to swap the tasting wines. Don't do it if they're busy though! Wines: The whites (Chardonnay, Jours) were crisp and light; not the best I've had, but nice to sip on. Reds were fuller-bodied, but still refreshing and fruity. I'm not one for super deep and complex red wines, so I really enjoyed the ones offered here! I enjoyed the 2016 Madonne the most, as it's punchier than the Pinot Noir. Atmosphere: 10/10! Bathrooms are very clean. This is a great place to go on a sunny day. Every table in the sun has an umbrella, and there is a very nice grove of trees that shades a large section. Ambiance is great. Wine was decent. Unfortunately the service and food need major improving. They did not greet us when we walked in. Just stared at us. Cheese came out still in the packaging that we could not even open. We could barely cut the cheese with the flimsy wooden knife and plate they gave. So we asked if they could slice the cheese for us since the knife could barely cut, which they would not do. Service seemed lazy. Not sure if they realize what customer service is. read more

Terrible Service. We have had a reservation confirmed for quite some time, as we were celebrating our mom's birthday, we were a party of about 10. When we arrived they said they do not have our reservation, my sister showed them the email confirmation and they still told us it is not confirmed, I am still so confused by this. The email clearly shows a confirned party today for our family, they did not honor the reservation and told us to go to another place up the road and also advised us to come back tomorrow to talk to the vineyard staff who confirmed our reservation. Don't come here, go to the place they suggested, Fortino Winery, they were more than happy to seat our party within minutes, they had so much more delicious food and wine options, the staff is so kind and wanted to make sure we had a great time and we did, despite the horrible experience in the beginning with Sarah's , so incredibly unprofessional. I gave 1 star because obviously the experience, but the gentleman that took care of me a at Sarah's Vineyard while I waited for my family, (I was early) was really kind to me. Husband and I visited today as I told him it was one of my favorite places in Gilroy ( he hadn't visited yet). We saw they had a special Valentine's tasting with a recommended chocolate pairing. After visiting another nearby place that also had a chocolate tasting, I was a little skeptical. Boy was I wrong- every wine was good and Aaron and Aaron in training we're so knowledgeable. I got to say the wine is amazing but the service is terrible . I had an old grey hair bobbed cut hair lady say the most rudest remarks to me and my girlfriend . We simply asked for the least expensive wine and she came back at us insulting us to go to BevMo to get cheap wine . We went there because we love their wine . A group of my friends headed down to Gilroy for a weekend of horse riding and wine tasting and stopped here. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a very nice guy that was there to help us with our tasting. We started with 2 white wines, followed by 3 reds. The Chardonnay was a hit but the rest of the reds did not fit many of our palettes. We did not end up buying any bottles to take home, but if you do, definitely recommend the Chard! The vineyard has plenty of parking and is easily accessible. They have a nice inside area that allows dogs (part of the reason we came here) with plenty of seating outdoors as well. There are products on sale in the winery that you can buy for yourself or your four legged friend. The tasting was $10 for 5 pours. They have a side event room also that was set up small barrel tables. Next time, I probably would skip the tasting and go straight for a glass! read more

I LOVE this winery. It is one of my favorites in the Bay Area. They have excellent wine, I especially love the Grenache Blanc but all of their wine is really good.They are known for their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Went there yesterday to celebrate a friends birthday and first, the parking situation is horrible. Second, there were hardly any people considering there was zero parking, yet we sat for 30 minutes waiting to be seated and served. They were expecting us yet they were horrible. Zero service at all. We ended up just going in and buying the bottles ourselves from the store. By the time we were even approached nearly 40 minutes had passed and we felt pretty awkward having to chase a server around. We ended up leaving and going downtown to the amazing new place Tempo Bar where we had the best service Ive ever had in Gilroy.
