My problem with this location is that it feels like you're at an office building and walking down the hall I felt like I was going to a doctors office or meeting To me, so much of wine tasting is about the ambience and I was realllly disappointed when we walked in . The photos on yelp are really deceiving . There are no grapes, there are office blinds and office hallways. Nice tasting room in an out of the way industrial park. Our attendant was spectacular. She gave us a lot of information about the wines and winemakers. This winery doesn't seem to have their own vineyards but sources grapes from up and down the CA coast. The winemakers certainly seem to know what they are doing as the wines they make are very good. We liked many of the wines but ended up buying bottles of the Teo and Classic Red blends. read more

What a nice place. Amazing inside if you want to sit in and sample some wines. It's a nice and sunny day you can sit outside on a comfortable chair. The staff were really friendly and helpful. After the tasting we had a glass of Pinot noir rosé which was awesome. The tasting room is just of 101 going to San Jose very convenient to get on and off on a semi industrial area but with a nice garden area (see the pictures) We were able to bring our own food and have it with the wine. read more

We made reservations for Saturday at 1:30pm and requested outdoors. But when we arrived, they still had to set up the tables for us. I was surprised we didn't need to put down $50 deposit for the reservation like it said on their website. There was only 1 other table taken outdoors. It was not busy at all. You have a choice of 3 kinds of flights: white, red, and mixed ($20 for 5 wines). The wines here are pretty bland. We prefer bolder flavors. The pours weren't generous. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You can also bring your own food/snacks. It's located in industrial area. They have a IG picture worthy area that has wine bottle and glass. Cute touch. Service wasn't anything to mention much. They put the whole flight on a wine rack so we didn't really need much service. I went in to pay to make the check out process faster. read more

Vivian did a wonderful job of making my boyfriend and I feel welcome even though we showed up right when she opened at 11 AM tired from the drive. We had a BOGO coupon from the Campbell Wine walk so we paid about $20 for the mixed flights for two people which is very reasonable. Great new local tasting room in town and a welcome addition to thre community! Peter was more than helpful and made our experience memorable. The space is really great, as they have a nice large room in the back that would work well for private events, and a cute courtyard out front that is going to be great in the spring/summer. They just opened this past August and still have a few things in the works. I look forward to seeing what they have in store for us! Now on to the important stuff, the wine. It's delicious! I'm partial to whites these days, so I really loved their Santa Cruz Chardonnay. The reds were also quite tasty. Standout for me was the Fellom Ranch Cab. This is one of the best wineries South County has to offer. Don't let the unassuming location in an office park dissuade you from coming here. The wines are all top-notch and it is obvious that the winemakers, Sofia and Christian, know their stuff. Their library has a number of different varietals, as well as sparkling wine and French style blends. The tasting room manager, Vivian, is the best. She is always conversational and friendly when we visit. The tasting room is clean and cozy, with both indoor areas and a small seating area and grassy space outdoors. There are weekend live music events in the summer, which I haven't had the chance to attend but hope to in the future. In summary, this is a hidden gem in Morgan Hill and definitely the kind of business you want to support. read more

To start, this was a Valentine's Day surprise for my wife - our first Valentine's Day as a married couple. We arrived early, and got seated right around 6:50pm. For the next 50 minutes, we sat there with no food, wine or even water in our glasses. Now being almost 8:00pm - we received a glass of chardonnay and the whipped goat cheese plate. Reading the menu, we noticed the wine was already paired wrong... chardonnay was supposed to be with the next lobster gnocchi dish. That is fine, a little frustrating but not the end of the world. Now that we finished our meal, the server asked us to all stack our plates and pass them down the table to help them clear the tables faster?? Because this was unexpected and frankly staggering as a request - we started to stack and pass where the server frustratingly communicated "keep your forks please!! You need to reuse them". So now we need to unstack, grab our forks for the next meal. Now we get poured the rose... again not the right pairing. Next we wait another 30 minutes for the next course, only for the lobster gnocchi to legitimately be raw. The lobster was fine, but my wife literally cooks gnocchi a few times per month and it was inedible... just raw potato dough. At this point we are losing our patience. This was a $300+ meal and we are receiving the wrong wines, raw food, clearing our own plates, getting reprimanded by servers, and it is almost 9pm and the steak isn't here. Now the steak and cabernet arrives... except not my wifes. The whole table was served, including me first and she was forgotten. Since there were only 2 people working all night, it took us another 15 minutes to find someone and get her a dish and mine is now cold. At this point it is past 9pm, we are receiving cold food and we left. read more

Not where you would expect... So when I think of wineries, I think of Vineyards, on a hill side, open concept. This is not what I expected. Now this is not a bad thing. This place is in an industrial building, but really nice! We saw signs along 101 and thought let's try them. We pulled up and the first thing I thought was brewery. They area is very quiet. Their courtyard area is well kept (where you will do your tasting). Now the people here are very friendly. In fact the own/wine maker came and talked to us. She is so delightful. Really sweet and VERY knowledgeable about the wine. She stopped by to say hello and we started up a conversation about dogs (also this place is pet friendly). She then started to give us an extra taste of her favorite wine she makes. She also finished out our flight with us. Talking about where the grapes are grown. How she ages them. How and when they bottle them. Notes and tastes. It was so awesome. So nice to see people with passion and love for what they do. It truly shows in her wine. Try this place out with an open mind. What a great little last minute stop on the way up to SF! Sophia, one of the founders, was pouring behind the bar and was amazing talking about the wines and history behind the tasting room. What a nice little gem Light Post Winery is. It is located right off the 101 freeway and Cochrane road in Morgan Hill. We have been here before covid and they are doing outside tasting now. The tasting menu is diverse and you are almost certain to try a grape varietal that you have never tried before. For me it was Pinot Noir Rose. It is exactly what it means. Bring your dogs, bring your kids, lay out a blanket on the shaded lawn. Take a little time to yourself and you will be sure to visit again. read more

It's at the end of a cul-de-sac, which seems a little weird at first, but they've got great ambiance, easy parking, and most of all, I loved the wines! I can't wait to go back. Wines were very good and the staff was welcoming, accommodated our group, moved tables around for us etc. Lightpost stays open later than most (until 7PM Wed. through Sun. which is wonderful). And it wasn't crowded. Seating was very comfortable. Nice, new, clean facility with indoor and outdoor seating options as well as the tasting bar. The "business park ambiance" with freeway sounds wasn't as nice being in a winery located in the vines with more traditional vineyard sights and smells, but still ok. Given the somewhat steep prices for tastings ($15, $20, and $30 tasting menus - I did the $30 menu), I would have liked the staff member who poured to have engaged more, providing information about the wines we were tasting, the winery itself, the winemaker's approach to winemaking etc. beyond the notes that were printed on the tasting menu. read more

I have been wine tasting ever since college and this is one of the only wineries I have been to where EVERY WINE IS GREAT! Usually tasting rooms have a few noteworthy wines and then the rest of the list is "What was the winemaker thinking?". Not only are the wines great the but the tasting room staff is friendly and attentive. On the weekends you'll often see Sofia one of the owners there. She really knows her wine and works side by side with their excellent wine maker and can tell you all the interesting details about each vintage. Definitely worth a visit when you are tasting in the area and it's worth the short drive down from San Jose. read more
