Bbq 152 im a local and enjoy coming here but I'm hoping they can tweak the side recipes. The meat is 10/10 but the sides are mediocre.. beans are watery and tasteless it needs bbq sauce and bacon or something. One bite of the brisket had me wondering if it was the lean or the tasty (top) half... I could not tell, so on to the ribs.. yes!.. smoky, smoke ring, tasty as any top 10 ribs should be.. Yes, we showed up at 8:10 PM but They close at nine. when we asked for hot sauce and napkins, they said well we're closing so we put it all away. Then We found a hair in our food (no worries it happens) and when we showed them ... they said are you sure it's not yours and that there are no females in the kitchen. Rude. My constant gripe about barbeque places: it's way too cold. Hey, people working here: Look up. If patrons are shivering and wearing jackets it's too damn cold. And eating barbeque is messy and not something you want to do while wearing a jacket. The meat was flavorful in the brisket sandwich. Did I detect a whiff of soap in the smokiness? I wanted to get the 2 meat combo but when I found out they only give you 7 oz of the pulled pork which equates to basically 2 forkfuls, I got the individual order itself and even that wasn't much for the price. I also got the pork ribs which were the tiniest ribs and more on the dry side....maybe it was just a bad day but I don't think I'll be coming back. We were looking for a place to eat after spending the day at Gilroy Gardens...and I found Bbq 152. Really nice and clean outdoor patio. They had Blues music playing outside which was perfect. I had the regular tri tip sandwich and my husband had the large brisket sandwich. The bread was soft and toasty. We both got the bbq beans which were good. I've eaten here numerous times throughout the year. I've never really had a bad meal yet. Some people complain that it's a bit pricey but I think the price is pretty average for a barbecue joint. You're getting hefty chunks of smoked mammal - and I am a sucker for good tender smoked meat. Pepsi products adorn the soda fountain. I am a Coke drinker but was happy to see they had Dr Pepper. The only issue I have is if you try to come for dinner or late lunch they tend to run out of stuff. I love the fact that I can get Texas style brisket here-but sometimes it's simply not available if you come to late. So my advice is if you have a hankering for something do you come early enough to make sure it's on the menu. read more
