My boyfriend opted for the 5 deal and I got the Espresso Martini (Espress Ya' Self) which was $3 off. My drink was pretty tasty. We shared the pretzel for $7 which comes with mustard, I also asked for some beer cheese to go with it. My boyfriend got the Nashville Hot Slider $6 which he liked. One of the CLEANEST restaurants I've been to ever in my life. The bathroom was immaculate and I could smell the cleaner. The dishes had no stains or water spots, floors and tables were spotless. I loved it. I ordered the chicken and waffles, with a side of bacon and eggs, it was a beautiful presentation, and waffles were almost like cake, yum! On the other hand the chicken was not seasoned at all, but I could overlook that because I enjoyed the waffles so much. We also didn't know the regular menu was available at brunch, so we then ordered a side of sticky ribs, that were not what I expected. I wanted to wait until I visit again to make my review because I just didn't have the same experience and my fellow yelpers but if I wait any longer I'm Going to forget important details. Now, this review is based off of brunch on a gloomy, rainy, Sunday. There is paid parking around the building, even on Sundays so we parked and went in. It wasn't busy so we sat down right away, the waitress was so kind and just a sweet little thing and attentive so customer service was 4 stars. When we sat down to look over the menu we decided that we probably should of came for more of a late lunch/dinner setting. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my husband ordered the chicken sandwich. Chicken and Waffles were decent, more of a pretty presentation then they were good. It was tasty don't get me wrong I just wish the chicken was more seasoned because it was bland, I opted for the sauce on the side and I'm Happy I did because I didn't like it. I asked for hot sauce and the one they had did not taste good, they don't have like regular hot sauxe. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich he said he wished it had more season as well. My friend recently moved to a new area and wanted to grab dinner. She recommended Batch & Brine because it was a good halfway meeting point for us and she had heard good things about this eatery. I enjoyed my dish as it's been ages since I've last had falafel. It came with five balls of falafel piled on top of hummus. The falafel was crunchy and the exterior seemed a little overcooked but it had a nice spice to it. My friend devoured her slider and we appreciated they did half and half with the fries. The garlic fries weren't too garlicky but were a bit soggy while the sweet potato had a crispiness to it. Along with the happy hour menu, their main menu is mainly American fare with sliders, sandwiches, mac and cheese, and other small bites. All of the customers dining in seemed to be enjoying their meals which is a good sign! Batch & Brine isn't easy to miss as it's located off Mount Diablo Boulevard. Metered, street, and parking in the shopping center's lot are easy to find around the area. You can sub your fries for their many variations for an extra charge. We started off with the fried burrata which was yummy but I wish it was served warmer than it was. The wings were generously tossed in sauce which I like. They also had Cali Craft on tap, yaaass to their pog spritzer. I didn't like the tuna sandwich, the filet was super thick and there was no other sauce than the wasabi aioli which was very wasabi tasting. Wish they offered a spicy mayo as a sub or something. The food was pretty pricy and didn't blow me away. There was a lot of bread to stuff ratio for the bahn mi and fried chicken. The duck bahn mi was unique and I appreciated the flavors but the fried chicken was a little on the burnt side and didn't feel as flavorful. I'm also usually a big fan of sweet potato fries and while they were good, were a little too thin and crispy for me. I wish they were the width of the regular fries! It was also VERY loud. The chicken sandwich had very little flavor including even the spicy aioli, and I got the Nashville style (for an extra $2) that was supposed to be spicy and flavorful, and it was neither. My daughter's bbq pork and beer cheese over fries was really not very good - the beer cheese was an off flavor and was gritty (like not fully melted) and the bbq pork was overly sweet and didn't go with the cheese sauce. I will say that the eggs were poached perfectly. *Chicken fried steak - my friend didn't even make it half way through and said it was garbage. *Nashville hot chicken and waffle bites - there's zero spicy about this and there's also too much batter. ^^ So basically, don't bother coming here for brunch, it's not good and I don't even think they had coffee. *Pretzel - this might be one of my favorite things here and a great bar snack *Wings - nothing to write home about, but a good bar snack *Nashville salad - pretty decent (though obviously the worst salad option ha!) *Kale caesar - very decent salad *Little burgers - again, good as a bar snack, it's a couple of bites! I've been going to Batch & Brine for sometime but this was our first brunch visit. They only accept reservations for 5 or more guests. And they don't take same day reservations. We've been fortunate to not have to wait too long for a table. A few times, when we're being asked to wait, we need to have a back up plan. There are a few other great restaurant options nearby - Pizza Antica, Social Bird, etc. The brunch menu is great, with some traditional breakfast items mixed in with lunch offerings. There a little of everything for everyone here. They also have a full bar. I had the chicken and waffles which I likely won't order again. The chicken was dry and the waffle was very cold. But I was hungry - it was 11:30 and my first bite of the day. My friends were all happy with their orders! We ate inside which has lots of big open windows. If my brunch dish was better and if their reservation policy was easier, I would give them 5 stars. read more

I came across this restaurant on Yelp and really wanted to try it. Came in on a Saturday and it was nice because there was no wait. We were seated right away and the food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the chicken fried steak, the chicken/waffle bites, a side of millionaires bacon, a side of biscuit, taquitos, and a Bloody Mary. The staff was friendly and checked in on us often. The food itself was nothing spectacular and left me wanting more. I think there is potential, but I've had better. I came for lunch so I ordered: L.E.S - short for Lower East Side where they are famous for pastrami sandwiches. Although this sandwich wasn't Katz deli, the sandwich was good. The duck confit fries I had on the side were very good but rich. I felt a little overindulgent after eating it. Service was solid and the restaurant is impeccably clean.
