Bartender finally comes by and plops a bottle of water in front of us. Doesn't say hi / bye / or eff you (although she definitely gave off the latter vibe with her body language). After sitting there another 10 min and not being acknowledged whatsoever, I got fed up. Stood up, told my girlfriend I had had enough...and I flat out refused to give my money to an establishment that treats their customers in this manner. Honestly, I grew up in the Lowcountry and I can tell you that *most* restaurants/bars/shops/etc. in Charleston feature employees who are generally gracious/friendly/hospitable/helpful. Arrived a little bit early, but we were able to be seated after only a few minutes waiting. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Going into how delicious the food was. For an appetizer, they brought out some warm cornbread with sweet whipped butter. The cornbread was light and fluffy with a hint of honey. Sweet and delicious. For my main course, I ordered the sirloin steak that came with a side of potatoes and arugula. The steak was cooked medium as I requested. It had a great flavor and was absolutely delicious. I chose not to finish it off so I could save a room for dessert. For dessert, I ordered the peach cobbler. It was a ample portion of warm peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Again they knocked it out of the park. Everything about this experience was five star from the service to the food. Everyone was so nice. My friend opted for a Painkiller with a floater while I stuck with the classic version. Both were fantastic and instantly transported me back to the Caribbean. We also ordered a half dozen of the daily oysters. They took a little longer than expected to arrive, but when we asked about them, the manager couldn't have been kinder. He immediately brought them out and insisted on taking them off our bill altogether. Completely unnecessary but a thoughtful gesture and great example of excellent customer service. Our bartender, Caleb, was also a delight!!! He was friendly and helped make our visit enjoyable.
