Came back to Sorelle for dinner and it completely missed the mark. Our flounder arrived cold, the tuna had zero flavor, and the pasta was... just pasta. Nothing stood out. I also had pretty high expectations for their service, and that fell short too. They were clearly trying to deliver great service, but the execution just wasn't there. There was a lot of miscommunication, our dishes were brought to the table next to us three different times and then handed back when they realized the mistake. On top of that, the manager interrupted our main course to make small talk while I was taking my first bite. I usually appreciate that kind of interaction, but the timing felt off and inauthentic. Sorelle is my favorite coffee shop in charleston! I stop by every time im in town and treat myself to their special latte of the week! Their pastries are super yummy and the staff is always friendly! Sorelle wears many hats, so look out for reviews that reflect the experience you desire. I came to Sorelle for a Michelin-recommended fine dining experience. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles and a sea of welcoming staff. We booked the chef experience menu ($124) with classic wine pairing ($99). I'll note that the prices reflect "full participation" e.g. if you want to book the wine pairing, or any complementi course, you must book for *all* members of the table. Through the chef menu and wine pairing experience, I felt spoiled to dine without lifting a finger or making a decision. Each course was memorable, my favorite being the antipasti: a bright arugula and fennel salad with lemon, and crudo di tonno. The attention and attention to detail from staff was what made this experience so special; Our high top table was decorated with a "Happy Anniversary" card sweetly signed by all of several staff. The host pulled out my chair for me. The sommelier shook our hands and thanked us for dining before serving us our first glass (but disappointingly swapped roles with another sommelier afterward without warning.) Our lovely server introduced us to each course and checked in on how we were doing. Various other staff served our dishes and wiped our table of crumbs after each course. Another server personally showed me to the restroom. Multiple staff wished us farewell upon our exit. I think my only wish was for our wine glasses to be removed from the table more quickly so our table felt less cramped. Our time at Sorelle will be solidified in our minds (and bellies) as one of the best fine dining experiences. We were more than happy to tip 25% and look forward to revisiting for a future anniversary! read more

The food was really good! We had the Italian hero and the Caesar sandwich. It was amazing. The Caesar sandwich was a 9/10! The bread was toasted perfectly! The Italian hero was definitely 10/10. Would've liked mayo but I understand those sandwiches don't usually have mayo. The raspberry pastry was 8/10 but the pistachio was 10/10. The weekly matcha was 1000/10. As someone who have never had matcha before, it was phenomenal that I'm literally craving it again as I'm writing this review!! The service was amazing!! They were so nice and so helpful. I spoke to them for a while and they recommended items to me and we spoke about just random things. Came here for our one-year anniversary in May, and it was such a memorable experience that I had to come back on Yelp to review it :) When we first arrived at Sorelle, my boyfriend and I were waiting in line to speak to the hostess. A tall man in a grayish-blue suit was already speaking with her, and when he noticed us, he apologized for "being in the way." We assured him it was no problem at all and that we definitely did not mind! And then he left. We didn't think much of it at the time. Fast forward to dinner: we were seated outside on the patio, which was absolutely beautiful. It had this charming old-town feel and was perfect for people watching. I have quite a few food allergies, and I was so grateful that the staff was accommodating and helpful with recommendations. I ended up ordering the Potato Gnocchi (modified to be dairy- and shellfish-free), while my boyfriend had the Tajarin Al Ragu. The gnocchi was hands down the best I've ever had, it was perfect in every way. I may have eaten it a little too quickly, but I have no regrets! The biggest surprise came at the end of the night when we asked for the check. Our waitress told us that our entire dinner had already been covered. My boyfriend and I were stunned, this had never happened to us before. When we asked who it was, she said it was a man in the lobby. Immediately, we looked at each other and said, "Was he in a grayish-blue suit?" She confirmed it was. We were blown away by the generosity of this stranger and wished we could have thanked him. Berk was fantastic! Took the time to walk us through the menu and recommend his favorites as it was our first time. Dining room upstairs is wonderful and the seating is so comfortable. I would recommend every dish we got that evening, but my two favorite were the Zucca Parmigiana and the Carpaccio Pizzette. We definitely over ordered but the service was paced and coursed fantastically thanks to Berk. Both cocktails I tried that evening were excellent, my favorite was the Galileo Gaze but the La Befana was the perfect compliment to our first course. Over all a very well thought out experience from the interior design details referencing each other throughout the property to the fact that there is no such thing as a bad order there. I was craving a shrimp pasta so I asked the server about adding shrimp to something, she then asked the chef and they whipped me up and amazing garlic, lemon pasta!!!! Best Italian spot I have ever been to. With a unique menu, every dish is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. We had a large group for a bachelorette party, and they provided a private room with helpful and friendly service. Eagerly awaited our brunch reservations on a Sunday ! We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation to a huge line (for the coffee shop)- which proved extremely confusing to us and those waiting. The hostesses seemed a bit overwhelmed as well once we did reach them so the start of the reservation was a bit stressful - but not off putting. We were taken up stairs and the restaurant was absolutely stunning. Our server was so sweet and helpful- took our drink orders and patiently answered our questions. We decided to share some options and went with the chicken, a pizza and the spaghetti. All were wonderful- though we did find it odd that the chicken was served alone. We joked we had our own version of chicken parm and truly it paired wonderfully! I cannot express how much we enjoyed this experience at Sorelle. It was a year ago that I came but only had the caviar service and didn't try any of the entrees. The 3 of us came for dinner that night and it was nothing short of a wonderful time. Their sommelier Angel who is absolutely charming, friendly and knowledgeable about their wine program decanted a bottle we brought and even share some very special Syrah with us after knowing we're wine lovers ourselves. Caitlyn our server who we got to know throughout the night was amazing. She made suggestions and gave us options for my husband who has celiac and we were able to pick a handful of dishes to try. The service was fluid, with all hands on deck with the food runners and management team. Whoever came up with the Negroni mignonette is a genius because it was so good with the oysters. They brought us out this beautiful baked bread along with a gluten free option for my husband which was so thoughtful. We had the zucchini layered lasagna that was colorful and beautiful. We opted for the GF options on the bolognese and classic Pomodoro red sauce. That bolognese had this slight tanginess to it that made it so enjoyable for me. The suckling pig rotolo was freaking ridiculous and I've never had anything like it. The flavors were rich and powerful, the crispy top edge of the rolled pasta and each spoonful was heavenly. They were on top of the table maintenance with replacing and replenishing our plates and utensils. Our last course we shared the bone in pork chop. Ugh it was so juicy and delicious. The next day I crushed what was left on the bone because I don't waste anything. When I thought it couldn't get better we ended on dessert. This was not your average affogato but perhaps one of the best interpretations of it. One of the managers came by and presented it to us and poured the hot espresso over what was like chocolate shell that melted into the gelato. I mean it was so decadent and perfectly executed. Our server Caitlyn surprised us with also giving us the Zeppole (doughnuts) OMG those were like pillows that you dipped in this delicious creamy sauce that is unforgettable. We were given a choice of 5pm or 8:15pm reservation. We took the 8:15 for 5 people. We arrived on time but had to wait a very long. Around 8:35 they offered Prosecco to our group, 4 accepted. We continued to wait for an hour but in the end, they were very apologetic and professional and made up for it. The arancini were the best I've ever had in the US. Crazy authentic. A creamy hit. OMG- highly recommend!! We had several pizzas. It would be had to say which was best. Loved the asparagus and mushroom. The one topped with prosciutto was authentic. All were delicious. My only gripe was that there were five of us and each pizza was cut into four pieces. I am happy to report no fights broke out! Bread was amazing - it had sesame seeds on top with a very fluffy middle. It was served with olive oil. The warm olives as appetizers were tasty. But I had to pace myself! No room for more than one! The octopus with the chic peas was amazing!!! This dish was incredible. I would highly recommend this dish as well. We ordered two pasta dishes to share. The pillows of gold lived up to the hype. I was pleasantly surprised. Wow. Drops of 25 yr balsamic drizzle. The pistachio pesto dish was delicious as well. Soft shell Crab and chicken cutlet were good. I think the pastas were the star of the show. And that says something! Desserts light and delicious but I didn't eat much since I was stuffed by this time. Ambiance upstairs was amazing. In fairness, we never got to eat here. We walked up and got our names on the list just before 8, maybe 7:45. They told us there was only one name ahead of ours and it would maybe be an hour. We didn't get a text that our table was ready FOR TWO AND A HALF HOURS. I'm sorry but no. One name ahead of us? And the restaurant is not small. I called to inquire earlier in the day if it was busy and it was so awkward they refused to tell me they said we had to walk in to find out. All staff we talked to (twice on the phone and all the host staff) were a bit rude. Like pretentious vibes like they were something special and we should be lucky to have their attention for a fleeting moment. Absolute lack of customer service. No thanks. Very disappointing after so much build up to get a reservation. The octopus appetizer was rustic, and good, nothing special. I ordered a glass of Billecarte rose' and was a poured a glass without being offered a taste first (at $40) so I found that less than satisfactory. The spaghetti I ordered was first served before I had placed an order for my next glass of wine, changing to red, and someone noticed me looking closely at the plate (not eating because I was waiting to order wine) and I saw a fiber in the crunchy zucchini on top. That plate was taken away with a promise for a new plate with my wine. My new plate was cold, undercooked spaghetti and one bite was enough to send it back, with some pasta still stuck to my teeth. I don't know how that could be served and I gave up there. Still having my glass of my glass of Nebbiolo, I ordered some arancini to go with it, graciously served on the house and brought out quickly. They were fine, but a bit lacking in flavor. I didn't really have dinner but that was my choice after not getting an edible plate of pasta to begin. Service was good, but my table was cleared for crumbs twice, once when there weren't any. My silverware was replaced and then someone tried to replace it again. When I wasn't happy with my pasta entree no one was around to see how I liked it. I was not happy with this dinner at all and I noticed the woman at the table next to me barely ate half of her spaghetti but I didn't hear any wait staff commenting on it. read more

First of all - Huge props to our server Virgil, a king among men! We had a reservation for 7:30, I think, and ended up waiting just over an hour to be seated. One of my friends was pretty irritated, but once we were finally seated, the staff really made up for it. Virgil told us they'd be sending out some complimentary items to apologize for the delay, and he wasn't kidding. We got free pizzas, olives, bread, octopus, and a whole slew of other small plates. Everything was delicious. My personal favorite was the dish called Pillows of Gold, which absolutely lived up to the name. There were five of us, and we ordered everything family style to share, which was a great way to try a little of everything. The only letdown was the main entrees. One was a crispy milanese that unfortunately got completely soggy from a pile of wet vegetables they placed on top. Total texture sabotage. The dining room where we were seated upstairs was gorgeous, but kinda a drag for us small bladdered ladies as you had to take an elevator up or down one floor to use the facilities. The night ended on a high note. Virgil brought each of us a mini bottle of orangecello to take home, which was such a thoughtful touch. And the final bill? This was our first visit to Sorelle and we were looking forward to it. We were disappointed. We ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer. It was basically tuna soaked in olive oil with a few cherry tomatoes. It had no flavor at all except olive oil. The server did take it off of our check since we didn't eat it. I ordered the spaghetti. It was okay. Not great, a bit bland but I ate it. My husband had the lasagna roll ups. He thought they were okay. I know it's getting to be the norm now days but for a high end restaurant to charge $9 for 4 pieces of bread is crazy to me. We spent over $300 dollars so it's not inexpensive. We also were told this was a fine dining restaurant but there were people in shorts and tshirts, tank tops and flip flops. Not really what we expected. The room itself was beautiful. It's a truly lovely restaurant but we probably won't go back and would be hesitant to recommend it without explaining our experience. Wow!! I've lived in Charleston for a few months and have tried a couple of the local favorites but Sorelle has really jumped to the top of my list of all time favorite restaurants. I was luckily ably to grab a reservation in their lounge area which was right by their bar and provided a wonderfully fun atmosphere. The service was impeccable - from the hostess greeting us promptly and politely while offering to take our jackets - to our waiter giving us expert advice on each and every menu offering. This dinner became a whole experience with incredible food included. We started with the pane and charcuterie board which included warmed olives, bruschetta, prosciutto, and a crisp piece of fried pasta in the place of bread or crackers. The fried pasta was definitely a different take and something i had never tried before but was so crispy and airy it was truly delicious. I would highly recommend the Pane as it was warm, light, flaky, and garlicky deliciousness! We also decided to try the caesar salad which had a fun twist of being broccolini instead of lettuce. My choice of entree was the pillows of gold which was lemony-sweet goodness filled with a ricotta type cheese. It truly was divine and just the right portion for us to share after the first three items. Kicking off my 2025 Yelp reviews with the last meal I ate out in 2024! We headed to Sorelle to celebrate Tracey's birthday on Sunday December 29th. This was a brunch visit. We were sat in the bar area that is super bright with natural light. I forgot our servers name, (super unique) and she was super friendly. She provided great service the entire time. For drinks I stuck with Prosecco. Normally I would have at least had a specialty cocktail, but I didn't find one that was for me. For food, we shared the burrata, prosciutto, lobster Benedict, Roman toast, and pillows of gold. I'm a stickler when it comes to seasoning and I felt like the tomatoes with the burrata would have popped more with S&P. The most seasoned thing I had was the spinach on the lobster Benedict. The eggs really needed S&P. My favorite bites of the day came from the pasta. Super delicious. So was the lobster. And finally the sweet Roman toast with the vanilla mascarpone and berries was soooo yummy. We had an amazing time and I would definitely go back. Tracey said we have to see the upstairs dining room. This was our first time at Sorelle and needless to say we were impressed. They were very busy but it was worth the wait. We had a 9:30pm reservation and we were taken back promptly on time. Our waiter recommended a wine pairing with the meal and it was perfect. We got the pumpkin appetizer and the strawberry caprese which were both unique and fantastic. We got the pillows of gold and the spaghetti for our meals and both were delicious. The main dining room was gorgeous and had the perfect lighting. Our water was never more than half empty.
