One variation of plate
Talina A.

I booked this restaurant for my girlfriends and I to do our 3rd annual secret Santa gift exchange and dinner. None of us had been here prior to our dinner. We were all pleasantly dazzled by our surrounding, food, staff and cocktails. We were even given a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to enjoy. The food was different but delicious. The cocktails were all delightful as well. We had the whole upstairs loft to ourselves which was really nice & cozy.

First visit to Costa we were lucky to reserve the only spot they had tonight at 5pm. The hype didn't disappoint. The chicken margarita entree was the winner! I would pair that with their ravioli and it's amazing. The menu does change frequently but many staples stay close to the same. The swordfish entree was a delicately crisp perfectly cooked 6 oz filet and prepared without flaw. Very clean tasting. The focaccia and olive oil were also superb. Service was top notch. Someone at all times overseeing the table without interrupting and making sure our experience was notable. We will return and we will recommend!

What an incredible dinner at Costa! My family of six made a reservation over Thanksgiving weekend about 30 minutes before we arrived and had an incredible time. We arrived in two separate cars and the staff was kind enough to seat us and let us look at the menu while we waited for the rest of our family to arrive. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and feels very elevated with the incredible service and extensive wine list. We had drinks and bread, my brother really enjoyed his espresso martini, and the bread was delicious and salty and perfect with the olive oil. For the food, we got the scallop crudo, caesar salad, tuna scottato, candele, beef cheek agnolotti, swordfish, carrots, and fingerling potatoes. Everything was delicious but I especially enjoyed the caesar salad and beef cheek agnolotti. We also got multiple desserts including the affogato, olive oil cake, and tiramisu and really enjoyed the olive oil cake. I will say the pastas are slightly smaller because they are used as appetizers for the various main courses, however because we decided to do the meal family style there was plenty food to go around. Overall really enjoyed our meal at Costa for its cocktails, unique and delicious Italian inspired flavors, and cozy atmosphere!

We've hung out at the bar at Costa a few times now - the place is stunning! The service is thoughtful & attentive and all of the cocktails are creative & balanced. I'm partial to the dirty martini & the tiramisu espresso martini - which is my favorite espresso martini in CHS. My boyfriend loves the levity THC drinks. You'll get creations here you won't find anywhere else! We were thrilled to visit Costa for his birthday dinner - every single dish we ordered was out of this world. Costa is an absolute must try & an incredible special occasion destination. We went with a group so we were lucky to order almost everything on the menu lol - it's hard to narrow it down but some of our standouts were: - SCALLOP CRUDO*   Passionfruit, Avocado, Finger Lime - HAMACHI CRUDO*   Heirloom Radish, Brown Butter, Yuzu - BEEF CHEEK TORTELLI   Braised Octopus, Bone Marrow Gremolata - CANDELE   Anchovy, Lemon, Parmesan - GARY'S EGGPLANT PARMIGIANA - CRISPY POTATOES  Taleggio Fondue (add truffles, trust me!!) The TIRAMISU & SFOGLIATELLA PIE paired with the tiramisu espresso martini - I'm still dreaming about this course!

We went for an improptu date night and Costa was recommended by one of the manager at Chubby Fish Restaurant. They had vallet parking for the restaurant so no worry on parking since the restaurant is in the apartment building with limited parking. The inside of the restaurant was really nice and we were greeted as soon as we entered and they seated us on our table right away. Our waiters was attentive and gave us some recomendation on drinks and meal. She explained the drinks very well and seemed very verses on the curated menu as well. We ordered himachi crudo as one of our appetizer which was sweet and fresh, cue the mandarin brown butter and yuzu sauce. We also ordered the beef carpaccio and it has some asian spin and I really enjoyed this dish! The banh mi flavor and the crunchi peanuts were a good mix. For the main course I had the grilled cherri points sword fish that was delightful with caper, lemon, and olive oil, however the portion is very small. My husband ordered the pecorini ravioli and he said it was really good and the filling of the ravioi was black. We ordered the broccolini and love that we did since the main course portion was really small. For dessert, I had the delicious tiramisu expresso martini. It was a good impromptu date night overall.

Aperitivo

I visited Costa for their spritz happy hour which happens Monday-Wednesdays at the bar. For under 20 dollars you get a drink of your choice and a selection of small snacks a la Italian Aperitivo. We sat at the bar which was pretty open on a Tuesday at 5pm and the bartender was very attentive and nice. The restaurant is brand new and it feels elevated and fancy. the aperitivo was great and looking forward to going back for regular diner to try their menu.

Everything was amazing beyond words. From the moment we walked in it was such a welcoming environment. The dining room is stunning- with a nautical mid century modern feel. The exposed wood and ropes are beautiful. Dom was our server and he was awesome. He was well informed, but wasn't pushy he let us take our time and explore different options. The star or the show was truly the Somm Mark!! He was absolutely incredible. He picked out the most amazing bottle of champagne that was off menu for us after we told him we usually drink veuve and wanted a similar price point. He explained it perfectly and took the time to make sure we enjoyed it. Our glasses never fell empty and I love that he offered to either put it on ice or leave it at the table- a few of our recent spots have not offered chillers which is a deal breaker for me. We started with the tuna, hamachi crudo and waygu carpaccio. Holy cow they were insane. The tuna was by far my favorite but everything was truly outstanding. The flavors in the sauces on the tuna and the hamachi were seriously addictive. For an entree we split the crab pasta special- omg it was like comfort noodles at home but Elevated beyond belief!!! The shaved truffle on top was everything. We ended our meal with the tiramisu espresso martini- we asked to share it and they ended up giving us one so we each had our own. Then more surprises kept coming- they sent out the most amazing desserts( I hate sweets) but this was the first time in forever I've eaten a full dessert item. The ice cream served with the benne wafers was one of the most unique flavors I've ever had and I enjoyed every bit of it. Mike the AGM here is awesome and truly took care of us as well. Mark, Mike and Dominic are the best thank you so much!!!

What a wonderful meal at Costa last night!! On a whim we found out they had availability for two. We were warmly greeted as we entered and seated right away. After a few seconds, we decided to start with a Negroni (I mean it is an Italian restaurant after all!) and a glass of Pinot Grigio. Both were very good. Appetizers consisted of a Caesar salad, which almost 1st on entrée size, and beef carpaccio. This piece of Wagyu beef was phenomenal and a top a bed of pickled salad and peanuts and a few breadcrumbs. Pro tip when you get the Caesar salad take the flat and Parmesan covered breadcrumb and top it with some of the Wagyu beef. it was phenomenal. We decided to then order the entrées and instead of choosing from the entrée portion, we made a pasta course our main entrée. She went with a tubular-like pasta called Condele. A beautiful dish with an anchovy butter, lemon sauce. I opted for the carbonara, a beautiful creamy pasta with bits of guanciale & covered with shaved black truffle! Both pastas cooked the perfection with a great al dente tooth some bite. We added some of the focaccia bread with oil and some broccolini as the side dishes. After consulting with the sommelier we paired the meal with a bottle of 2020 Sgarzon Teroldego. Delicious red wine with the perfect amount of the Italian acidity to help cut through some of the richness of the pasta dishes. So for dessert, we opted for what they were calling milk and cookies. The cookies were about the size of silver dollars and the cookies were: double chocolate chip, maple, vanilla cream, biscotti, a gingerbread person, and a green wreath with raspberry cream. The milk was a little milk with bourbon and slight touch of nutmeg on top. Whimsical but delicious and a great way to top off a fabulous meal. All of the staff that interacted with us were professional and personable. A great experience working with people who, even if they don't, acted like they really enjoyed their job. This is definitely a plus for the restaurant scene in Charleston, South Carolina.

Fresh focaccia and burrata

This is an excellent new(ish) addition to the Charleston restaurant scene. I finally got a chance to go with a chef friend and we enjoyed every dish. We shared the burrata, fresh focaccia, beef cheek tatelli, and ricotta ravioli. Her favorite was the beef cheek and mine was the ravioli. We both loved the ornate and flavorful garnishes on each dish as well. Can't wait to come back soon!

Costa is a wonderful restaurant to go to when you have more than one dinner companion along with you! The portions are large- like family style. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and the vertical roots salad -- each one being enough in size for four people! I am lucky to have my daughter and family living nearby as most of this evening's meal will be going to them! Ambience is lovely and sophisticated. Even though Costa is housed in an office type building the feel once you are inside is that you are dining in a very tastefully done spot! The high end finishes and open kitchen arena good idea and adds warmth to the dining room areas. The chef's are busy in the kitchen ~ and you are able to see them busily preparing the orders and are in perfect step with one another other. I arrived when the doors opened at 5:00 pm and by the time I left the dining rooms were filled. Will return but will bring a "crew" along as it definitely caters to parties of 4 and up portions wise! Next to me the couple wisked through their salad, was happily working on the ravioli dish and went on to share the chicken entree. I sat and had the chocolate tart for dessert and it was served with a house made dollop of whipped cream ~ the chocolates was bittersweet... so not sweet at all and the cream gave it some balance! The coffee came in the form of a nice Cortado.

Great experience! Service was EXCELLENT, really impressive attention to detail. I enjoyed each of my dishes but wasn't as "blown away" by each bite as I've felt at a few other Charleston spots. Gorgeous venue though and I love the open air kitchen and cutie elevated ocean decor. Looking forward to going back!

We had a VERY enjoyable first Costa experience. Yes, you really do need a reservation if you go before 6. We thought we'd beat the rush at 5, but they were completely booked. We ended up scoring bar seats by the well (which we enjoyed) and got to see all the restaurant's bustle. Shout out to the host for working with us. Costa's eggplant parm really does live up to the hype and is the second best we've ever had. Perfectly breaded, sweet/chunky sauce, and a low-moisture mozzarella that holds it all together. We also tried the Vertical Roots Salad, Mortadella, Pecorino Ravioli, and finished it off with the chocolate torte. Yes, if you're concerned with portions (as we've read in some other reviews), you should absolutely order the eggplant. Julian, our server/bartender, was "on one" and was able to take care of us, the well, and help others. We love the open kitchen concept, clean decor, high ceilings, and spacing. Obviously, Costa's team has great taste. We look forward to our next Costa outing, tasty Negronis, and the eggplant parm.

My party had made reservation to sit with a specific server, but was told we would not have that server when we arrived. We then waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. After some back and forth, we were able to be seated for the server we requested. The menu was described in much detail to get you excited about the food that they offer. The server was very knowledgeable in the dishes they had. We had also ordered bottles of wine that he recommended would be flattering with our entrees. The lighting of the place is dim and you can tell it's an upscale place. We used the complimentary valet which was also very easy. The menu is pretty limited due to the high caliber of creation, but most of the food ended up being pretty good.

We had reservations for a Sunday night, and our server Joe was quick to greet us after we arrived. He delivered friendly service all night, which began with a thorough knowledge of the menu. We had starters of rosemary focaccia and braised artichokes. The focaccia is a must order, it's so soft and delicious. It's served with 3 sides of olive oil, marinara, and my favorite whipped ricotta. The braised artichokes, was a pass for me. No flavor, too soft a texture. Their entree menu has a nice variety of house made pastas. We chose fusilli lunghi, and rigatoni bolognese. Both were delicious flavorful entrees, with the pastas served perfectly al dente. The rigatoni was made with spinach, and the meat sauce was meaty and with a balanced tomato sauce. We ended our dinner, with carrot cake and chocolate cake. Yum! The chocolate cake was amazing, it was moist, velvety, and rich in chocolate flavor. A round of espresso martinis helped top off our dinner, and we ended the night with a rich appreciation of this experience.

My husband and I are big fans of early dinner lol. When we got there before 5pm it was pretty empty so we got sat right away. The main reason we tried this place is because I have a recently discovered that I have a soybean oil allergy and this restaurant is seed free. When we got sat, they brought over bread right away which was really delicious. I got a glass of Pinot grigio for a drink, and by the way the wine pour is very generous. We ordered mozzerella sticks for an app, for an entree I got the rigatoni with vodka sauce (the none spicy version make sure to ask for that if you don't like spicy things) with burrata. I also asked for crispy breaded chicken on top which wasn't on the menu but they added it no problem. My husband got the carbonara. The mozzerella sticks were decent maybe a 3/5...I wish they had a bit more salt. The batter tasted kind of bland. But it was crispy and cheesy. The rigatoni was amazing though, the pasta was cooked perfect not too al dente. The burata made everything creamy, they put a large piece of crispy chicken on it as well which was delicious. I would definitely order it again. My husband loved his carbonara. We are as much as we could and still had left overs which we ate the next day. Side note: for parking don't bother trying to find street parking, just use the parking garage near by. It's an easy walk and cheap. We were pleasantly surprised by the tomato sauce, and that stracciatella cheese was perfect gooeyness of flavor. We shared a beautiful lettuce salad, but it did not appeal to us; too much frisee. Entrees though were the stars, I had the mafalde with heritage pork and veal bolognese. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente, and its cut easily held the bolognese sauce. There was a delightful spiciness to it also. Then my husband had the cacio e pepe bucotini. This rich sauce was made with plenty of butter, parmigiana reggiano and pecorino romano. Yum!
