This is what all restaurants should drive to be - beautiful ambiance, lovely employees, mouth-watering food, and yummy drinks. We had a reservation for a friend's birthday. I had never been there before but my friend mentioned it's one of her favorite restaurants. Now it's one of mine. Apparently the menu changes so I wasn't sure what to get. We decided to do family style dinner where the kitchen decides what to serve you. A foodie's dream! We mentioned a couple of things we did not prefer (not a lot tbh) and let the experts wow us. Wow us they did! We received so much food and quite the variety for such a reasonable price. As the starter we had meatballs - fantastic quality meat and wonderful flavors, a hot honey pepperoni pizza - perfectly thin crust, and some kind of bread with an apple butter and cream that I cannot recall (we left no crumbs so so divine). For the entrees we were presented a carbonara pasta - so creamy and flavorful, steak frites with potatoes - perfectly cooked steak and crispy potatoes, a ravioli, and some kind of endive salad (not my most favorite). For dessert we were given their cannoli donuts (out of this world)! Their cocktails were equally flavorful, unique, and thoughtfully crafted. There was not a drink we did not like - we all had different ones. Someone mentioned their espresso martinis were spectacular so we had to try and I thought it was fine. Nothing really stood out to me. Overall, I'm going to make another reservation now that I'm in my foodie feels.

No pictures of the food because I was there for a catered event, but I will share a picture of the menu. The wine list is nice and the pasta is wonderful. As a New Yorker I can't say the Pizza is the thing that would make me come back, but there was a sweet potato pasta dish and I'm not a big sweet potato person, but it was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy and honestly, I will be thinking about it for weeks to come.

Indaco is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston. In my opinion, the best way to experience it is by ordering the chef special. For $60 per person, you get a selection of appetizers, two pastas, and two pizzas, which lets you try a variety of dishes you might not normally order. I have gone a few times and picked items on my own, but the chef special really feels like the way to go.

I visited Indaco during Charleston Restaurant Week and was blown away!! I ordered SO much food and left with so many leftovers and had zero regrets. The meatballs are absolutely huge! They are tender and could be a meal all on their own! The spicy soppressata pizza was giant and I took half of it home (reheats great). Next time I'll order the honey on the side but other than perfection! The radiatori bolognese was to die for. The house made pasta noodles were a type I had never had before and they went with the sauce so well! And again I had tons of leftovers and it reheated so well. Not the normal pool of grease you normally get when reheating noodles! The tiramisu was also amazing. So moral of the story Indaco is amazing and I highly recommend. Their happy hour at the bar is also a really good deal so definitely worth checking out! The bartender was really great and super attentive and helped us with our choices. The restaurant itself is nice and has different seating options for different size parties. They also take reservations would I recommend.

Update -- we did not intend on coming two nights in a row. We went to happy hour at south church and they were closed for a private event. We both voted to walk the 1.5 miles back to indaco and ditch somewhere new. Even better tonight. We made it in time for happy hour at the bar with Mattie. Great wine and beer and she had us try the sweet potato side. It wasn't good... it was amazing. We also had the potatoes and Brussels-- also amazing. So flavorful. And of course the bolognese for my husband. We left full and happy! I can't imagine we will find a better bartender and food anywhere in town.

We had such a nice dinner here! Our food was all so delicious and fresh. Our server was very personable and even bought me free dessert for my birthday. I would recommend the focaccia for sure. And my boyfriend loved the spicy soppressota pizza. Inside was nice and I noticed some people were casually dressed while others had nicer attire on.

Indaco has easily become one of my favorite places to visit and spaces to sit and sip for a while. Everything is always so rich with flavor. The meatballs are insanely good moist flavorful the focaccia bread with a mountain of Parmesan cheese on top is a must. They always have great pizza specials this time I ordered the supreme pizza and can we say Yum! Very bored with a kick cause I love a little spice and it was perfect on this night out. The service is always phenomenal.

I've never had a bad experience at Indaco and realized I am long overdue for writing them a review. I visited this past weekend with one of my friends where we split the focaccia and mushroom pizza. It's bread, sauces, and cheese so it's hard to mess up. The mushroom pizza is delicious. In the past I've ordered the tagliatelle that is one of my favorites on the menu. The ambience is low lit and casual dressy (no flips flops and tshirts but you also don't need a suit.) overall the prices on the menu are fair for King Street. A little pricey for pizza (if that's what you order but they have loads else on the menu!) My only complaint this visit was when I initially walked in and asked for bar seating they said "yes it's first come first serve but we seat people." Those are two very different things. Long story short they held 9 chairs at the bar for about 30 minutes for no shows and eventually sat us so just a heads up- you can't just walk in to the bar anymore. This is a new policy.

Got drinks and dinner with friends while visiting Charleston. Our experience here was good but it wasn't anything to write home about. I had the Tagliatelle which I had them make dairy free, so maybe that's why I didn't love it. But it was very citrusy. I tried my sisters who got the same thing just not dairy free and it was pretty good. The service was a little slow. My favorite thing I had was the lime nd coconut cocktail would definitely recommend it!

I came here with some girlfriends visiting me in Charleston, and I was honestly impressed! Even though I have passed by this restaurant a handful of times, Indaco wasn't really on my radar. We ordered the Tagliatelle, Peach Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, and the Mafaldine for food. Everything came out perfectly. The pizzas were excellent and a shareable size. However, I wish the pasta entrees were larger to make it easier to share. Our server helped explain to us the differences between pasta dishes and what customers' favorites are. We had a dirty martini and the 'La Paloma' to drink. The restaurant was smaller than expected, but I enjoyed the intimate setting. I would come here again or try their pasta class!

A moody Italian restaurant with so many great options! We had a group for a bachelorette and were seated at one of their bigger table. We arrived on time and had a reservation but were asked to wait outside as they got the table ready. Once sat, the waiter came promptly and took our orders. They have a good selection of wine and cocktails. Their espresso martini was YUMMY! We were suggested the squid ink pasta but I don't think it was the best pasta there. I truly enjoyed the papardelle option. All the dishes can be shared with others, allowing you to try all options they have with your friends!

I recently wrapped up dinner at Indaco with their tiramisu, and it was a delightful way to end the meal. This classic Italian dessert arrived with rich layers of mascarpone and espresso-soaked ladyfingers, dusted with just the right amount of cocoa a sweet and sophisticated finish.

Are the gluten free noodles a dry pasta or a zoodle?

Our gluten-free noodles are similar to a penne pasta!

Are the pizzas personal size? Or are they big enough to split between 2 or 3 people?

I didn't have a pizza when I went there but from what I could see definitely big enough for 2 maybe 3 to share. Guess it depends on everyone's appetite.

    Is there valet parking?

Yes. We went behind the restaurant and the Valet parked our car for us. Great option.

I’ve seen young kids there with their parents before. It really depends on how picky of eaters your children are. For me, I couldn’t take my kids there. They do serve pizza so I’m sure that you could request just a plain cheese pizza for them. I… Read more

Their entree menu has a nice variety of house made pastas. We chose fusilli lunghi, and rigatoni bolognese. Both were delicious flavorful entrees, with the pastas served perfectly al dente. The rigatoni was made with spinach, and the meat sauce was meaty and with a balanced tomato sauce. We ended our dinner, with carrot cake and chocolate cake. Yum! The chocolate cake was amazing, it was moist, velvety, and rich in chocolate flavor. My husband and I are big fans of early dinner lol. When we got there before 5pm it was pretty empty so we got sat right away. The main reason we tried this place is because I have a recently discovered that I have a soybean oil allergy and this restaurant is seed free. When we got sat, they brought over bread right away which was really delicious. I got a glass of Pinot grigio for a drink, and by the way the wine pour is very generous. We ordered mozzerella sticks for an app, for an entree I got the rigatoni with vodka sauce (the none spicy version make sure to ask for that if you don't like spicy things) with burrata. I also asked for crispy breaded chicken on top which wasn't on the menu but they added it no problem. My husband got the carbonara. The mozzerella sticks were decent maybe a 3/5...I wish they had a bit more salt. The batter tasted kind of bland. But it was crispy and cheesy. The rigatoni was amazing though, the pasta was cooked perfect not too al dente. The burata made everything creamy, they put a large piece of crispy chicken on it as well which was delicious. I would definitely order it again. My husband loved his carbonara. We are as much as we could and still had left overs which we ate the next day. Side note: for parking don't bother trying to find street parking, just use the parking garage near by. It's an easy walk and cheap. We were pleasantly surprised by the tomato sauce, and that stracciatella cheese was perfect gooeyness of flavor. We shared a beautiful lettuce salad, but it did not appeal to us; too much frisee. Entrees though were the stars, I had the mafalde with heritage pork and veal bolognese. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente, and its cut easily held the bolognese sauce. There was a delightful spiciness to it also. Then my husband had the cacio e pepe bucotini. This rich sauce was made with plenty of butter, parmigiana reggiano and pecorino romano. Yum!
