Indaco is always pretty good. Like all places there are things they could work on. We went in for our anniversary and while there were a number of open locations within they seated us right by the door. Two other couples came in for their anniversary and they seated them both right next to us. Now there were three couples that were just looking for a cozy dinner with their spouse all crammed into the tiny space right next to the hostess station and front door. Every time someone came in or a waitress walked by they would have to squeeze past us and inevitably bump into us. The food is basically standard Italian and generally good but maybe a little pricey. I would say that seating is too tight to really enjoy one's experience especially for an anniversary so we will be going elsewhere next time. read more

Great food, great service, and overall good experience. Only compliant is the seating, for a party of two, they might seat you at a two person table that hardly has any room not to mention you eating elbow to elbow with strangers also in your same situation. Not the ideal situation to have a conversation with your dinner partner without have two other couples in your business. Not to mention, I'm staring two inches from service staff backside as they do their jobs. Again, good food and service. Just terrible table setups read more

Indaco was the perfect spot for our first meal in Charleston. The vibes were trendy, and the ambiance made an ideal setting for a girls dinner. I started with a Paloma. It was made with a Grapefruit soda which was refreshing and light. A little different than expected, but in a good way! We kicked things off with the focaccia, and it was absolutely delicious--fluffy and flavorful. And the whipped ricotta was SO creamy. A perfect way to start the meal. For our entrees, we ordered the Margherita and the Spicy Soppressata pizzas. Both were incredible - some of the best pizza I've ever had. As a side, we went with the crispy potatoes, and wow - they were the perfect addition to the meal. I'll definitely be back to Indaco next time I'm in Charleston. I can't wait to explore more of the menu! read more

Cool spot in the heart of Charleston. The Spicy Soppressata Pizza was a standout-- crisp with just the right balance of heat and sweet. Another standout was the Triangoli--great lemon and sweet pea ricotta vibe. This spot is a great vibe and has a wood-fired oven that sets the tone right away. Recommend if you're in the area and want a cozy, elevated meal. read more

From the moment you walk in, the warm and rustic vibe sets the stage for a truly comforting Italian meal. The focaccia is a must -- fluffy, golden, and served with a rich, whipped ricotta that's as creamy as it is addictive. It's the kind of starter you'll still be thinking about days later. Can't go wrong with a pasta dish. My favorite of the night was the bolognese, it's a standout. The sauce tastes homemade in the best way -- hearty, slow-cooked, and layered with flavor. You can tell they put care into every step of it. And if you're in the mood for pizza, don't hesitate. Ours was perfectly crisp with just the right balance of toppings and a deliciously chewy crust. We also tried the flatiron steak, and it was a showstopper -- perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with savory flavor. It's a great option if you're looking to mix things up from the traditional Italian route. Indaco nails the details and delivers on all the comfort you'd expect from a great Italian spot, right in the heart of Charleston. Highly recommend for date night, a cozy dinner with friends, or anytime you're craving Italian done right. read more

Updating my review once again now that I'm (sadly) gluten free and finally came back to Indaco to see what they offered! The pizzas can all be gluten free as can most of the pasta dishes. I had the gf tagliatelle and it was FANTASTIC! The staff were all super kind and helpful, can't wait to come back knowing I can still get a delicious meal here without gluten! read more

This review is 5 stars...mostly because I had the best meatballs of my life here!! cannot recommend them enough! we also had a burrata salad and I personally didn't love the greens as they were tough and bitter. Wine selection here was great and affordable! The ambiance was cozy and warm read more

What a meal. From the moment we walked in and our hostess, Isabella, took care of us to defiling ourselves on I five different menu items. The burrata, the chorizo pizza of the day, tagliatelle, risotto, and strawberry crostata. Every item was better than the last. The bartender, Tyler, was most impressive. His knowledge of drinks and his own creations were absolutely amazing. Well done sir. read more

Arrived 15 min late but did call ahead to let them know; host was rude to us and chose to argued with us about how late we were/that we surpassed the grace period to be seated. Won't try to go back based on that interaction. Shame on you, Dwayne, you are bringing down the Indaco name. read more

Nice atmosphere, inviting decor. The service was exceptional, Katlyn was on her game. Always checking in with a smile. She took good care of our table of 6. She gets 5 stars! Mostvof the food was average, which for pricey Italian, I was surprised. I had the pork chop, the taste was ok but it was on the dry side. Marinated olives were ok. I will say, my daughter got the Mushroom Rissoto and that was very good. In the end, mixed results. Not sure I'd try it again unless maybe for pasta. read more

Amazing food and service! We stumbled into this restaurant and recommended to anyone with an allergy. Olivia was so helpful with allergy selections. She was great in making sure allergy items were pointed out and she made wonderful recommendations. I love this place! I wish we lived closer. read more

Indaco was great! It was just two of us but we were HUNGRY--we grabbed the SC Peaches pizza to start which was just sweet/funky enough--the crust was nice and overall it was a solid 8/10. We then ordered the black pepper tagliatelle and the cappellacci. The tagliatelle was like a mix of a carbonara/cacio e pepe--it came with a raw egg yolk on top which I was totally fine with. It was delicious and the pasta seemed fresh and just al dente. It was a bit greasy due to the pork tesa but I still devoured it. The best part was the pasta itself. 7/10--I wish it was less greasy but I understand the fat is part of the flavor. My partner got the cappellacci--I tried a bit and it was really nicely cooked with the pasta being the perfect texture. I think the best part were the sweet onions--they really balanced the saltiness of the parmesan and chicken crackling sprinkled on top. 8/10! Overall, the experience was great and I recommend Indaco for a great Italian restaurant Downtown. It was a bit dark inside, so the photos didn't turn out well! The atmosphere is nice, though it can get a bit loud. We didn't try any drinks this time around but the bar looked well handled and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Service was stellar and the food came out fast. read more

Really overhyped and not worth waiting for.... Would recommend Legami Italian food right down the street which is way easier to get into and has just as good food. Much better service too. Had a poor time with the host Dwayne who was incredibly rude and someone in our party was pregnant AND had a reservation. Vibe is overcrowded and loud. Pick a better Italian spot you have many options. read more

As a girl with celiac, I just had the BEST restaurant experience of my life. Our waitress (I think her name was Jen!) went over every single menu item with me and confirmed if there was any risk of cross-contamination and how items could be modified to be made gluten free. Definitely recommend getting a reservation as the wait time was long, but if you're gluten free (and also if you aren't!) this is WORTH IT!!! Highly recommend the gluten free sausage pizza :) I will be back!!!!! read more

Make sure to get any seasonal item at this Italian restaurant. The dishes were very fresh and you could tell that everything was homemade. The pasta was overly salty, which I typically like, but this was a little too salty for my taste. The pizza was much bigger than I had expected. Shishito peppers came with this amazing lemon ricotta, which gave it an extra layer of flavor. The inside is very loud, which makes it hard to hear the people you are with. We had a table of six and it was extremely difficult to hear the people at the end of the table. read more

Everything on the menu I tried was delicious. The gnocchi that comes with the roast chicken and zucchini is giving me major Italy flashbacks. The meatballs were big and hearty and perfectly seasoned. I reccomend getting some of their seasonal items because they really do put thought into the menu and they are limited time. Our waitress was great, she was very attentive and helpful when we were making decisions. The environment was a little loud. It's all hard surfaces so when it gets busy in there it gets very loud. Above the bar is the only place they have added something to absorb the sound. Our party was 6 and it was hard to hear the people at the end of the table. read more

Amazing roasted chicken, great spaghetti and meatballs and according to my brother the best supreme pizza he has had in his life! The ambience is very moody. We ordered the calamari and wasn't our favorite we sent it back and they so kindly brought a fresh one back out. It wasn't our favorite but the fact that they tried was a nice touch. Service is good, we came oddly on a busy Monday evening. Our server had a table with 14 people so he didn't have the ability to be super personable but over pretty good. I would come back. read more

We decided to do the "For the Table" $60 a person meal and oh my heavens--it far exceeded expectations. For four of us, we were given two appetizers, a pizza, two pastas, one entree, and two desserts. Every single morsel was DELICIOUS, heavenly, decadent. By far my best meal in Charleston and we were there five days and ate out every meal. Indaco is simply the best! Best service, best variety, best meal! read more

You'll be hard pressed to find better food in Charleston! This gem has a refreshing take on modern Italian. Their wood fire Neapolitan style pizzas are delicious, but antipasti, pasta entrees, and craft cocktails are what put it over the top. Their meatballs are as tender and well balanced as any you'll have. Their focaccia bread is outstanding with a house made dipping oil that will blow you away with its depth. And their raviollini is one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Its sweet pea and ricotta filling, with its slightly acidic, slightly hot, slightly fatty sauce is incredible. Add to this an extremely knowledgeable and engaging wait staff and a laid back atmosphere and you've got everything you could want for a fantastic dinner. Couldn't recommend this place enough!! read more

The chefs tasting is amazing! But, it's a ton of food. Come hungry. For three of us, they brought a pizza, burrata, Brussel sprouts, meatballs with marinara, two pasta dishes, and a baked chicken dish. Tiramisu for desert. All delicious! The pasta was obviously house made. Don't miss the spicy pizza and the Brussel sprouts. Service was excellent. read more

A friend recommend this place and she was right on point. Unsure if getting a pizza or a pasta? Get both and share! The butternut squash pizza was delicious and certainly not a pizza you would find everywhere; as for the tagliattele is was great too but the portion seemed a little for an entree though. The decoration was very festive and the service was pretty good! read more

Indaco - Italian Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

Utterly delicious, fantastically charming, and wonderfully warm Indaco is worth gaining more midsection padding to partake in this delightful wonder of an Italian restaurant. Twice I have pulled myself up to the bar (seriously this place has the highest bar stools) and found myself instantly at ease. While Southern hospitality is on full display throughout Charleston, Indaco seems to take it up a notch. Both times the bartenders have been warm, welcoming, and utterly delightful answering any question with great conviction. The food is phenomenal. I have guiltily had their tagliatelle both times and regretted neither. The noodles are perfectly toothy, the bits of salty pork contrasts and balances the bright sauce. My taste buds sing its praise. I have also had dessert twice and I will not captivate you with those tales because the dessert items I have tried were seemingly limited items. All I can say was both were very good. I love a good pastry dessert and Indaco has never let me down in that regard. I will go here again before I go home because it is just that good! read more

It's a very nice place. We enjoyed the dinner. We didn't have reservation and were seated on the bar area. Every seating choice, bar or table, has pros and cons. Tonight we love it be seated on the bar, because the place was packed and we felt that we could have a better experience. Service was excellent. We loved our Aperol Spritz. Cabbage salad was par excellence, one of the kind. Mushroom pizza was delicious and another par excellence dessert choice "Orange pistachio cake" To summarize entire dinner experience was great. It's a place to come back. read more

Decided to try Indaco in Charleston for brunch after enjoying it for dinner at their Greenville location. I was not disappointed! I got a basic breakfast with two eggs any way, bacon, and toast. The breakfast came with crispy fingerling potatoes and a side salad. It was nothing super fancy--just the basics done well, which, in my opinion, is the best. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the toast had a great berry jam that came with it. I also really liked the side salad. It was lettuce with a light lemony dressing. The service was great. As with the Greenville location, they were unfazed by my dairy allergy and easily accommodated it. A great place for people with dietary restrictions. We sat on the porch even though it was a little chilly, but it was pretty covered and had space heaters, so comfortable overall. read more

I *loved* Indaco. While visiting Charleston, this Italian spot was recommended to us. It was described as really good food without being a tourist trap. That plus Italian = I'm sold! I had a couple cocktails including the "Georgia on my Mind" mocktail (peach, lemon, soda) + vodka, and my favorite part was that it came with a peach ring gummy garnish. Too cute! The drink itself was a bit tart/sour for me. If I could go back, I'd love to try something different, because their cocktail menu sounds SO unique and interesting! For an appetizer we had the burrata with peaches and MY GOODNESS I was obsessed. The texture and flavor combinations with the crunchy grilled bread, soft creamy burrata, and fresh and juicy peaches was truly outstanding. It was a great, light appetizer to kick off the meal. For my entree, I couldn't resist ordering the stuffed pasta called caramelle (Candies). This was such a fun and interesting pasta, shaped like individually wrapped little candies. The hands-on work and attention to detail for this dish was really fantastic, props to the kitchen!! And the dish was DELECTABLE and rich. I believe it was stuffed with cheese and mortadella, and had rich brown butter and fresh pesto sauces, plus mortadella chunks and pistachios. It was SO good. Overall we really enjoyed our meal here and I hope to have the opportunity to dine here or another of the Indaco locations sometime in the future! read more

Delicious pizza and salad. Food was fabulous as always. Our go to place every time we visiting Charleston.

The food was great and the service was excellent. The tables are a little too close for my comfort; Especially when the gentleman sitting next to us had to put his hand on our table in order to get up from his seat. Yeah, that happened. My husband had the Radiatori and I had the market fish which was a seared red drum. I thought my fish was overcooked because the outside was seared pretty harshly with a little bit of burn ends, but the inside was perfectly cooked. So it just had a hard sear. The fregola, butter beans, celery, radish, arugula, herb vinaigrette added just enough balance of flavors and acid to the fish. We had the tiramisu for dessert and it was amazing! They also gave us three samples of the gelato because we were celebrating our 41st anniversary. We had pistachio, vanilla, and chocolate with salted caramel. All were very good!. We also had Espresso martinis with our dessert. Yum! The restaurant was very cozy with a modern industrial style. The ambiance was romantic until the lady by the window decided to pull the shade up and the blinding light from the outside shown into the restaurant. Before that it was really nice with candlelit tables. read more

Fabulous restaurant with cozy setting, excellent service, and the most fantastic pasta I've had in years. My husband and I were visiting Charleston and had already had some very good dishes at some very good restaurants. But by far the best experience we had was at Indaco. The atmosphere was cozy, inviting, and relaxing. Our server Alex was perfect, attentive, and friendly and the other supporting staff were all professional and efficient. For dinner my husband had a wonderful wood fire cooked Margherita pizza that I also tried and it was absolutely delicious. But I will have to come back to Charleston if only for the pasta dish I had. I had the Agnolotti pasta that I paired with a lovely Pinot Bianco. The pasta which the ingredients were listed as roasted sweet potato, ricotta, pecan ragu, pecorino, and aged balsamic had the perfect blend of taste and textures. Not since a trip to Boston many years ago had I had a pasta so unique and so delectable. Our evening dining at Indaco was the perfect dining experience. read more
