Taryn was an awesome server. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor at this location is beautiful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but we just didn't like the food. In our opinion it's not authentic, tortillas were tough, and the grilled shrimp tacos could have been better if they had some salsa or something. Free street parking and parking garage available less than a block away.

We had put in our name at another spot near Barrio for dinner, but headed over to grab a drink at Barrio while we waited! We had a large group, around ten, so I feel like that is important context. 50th and France parking is always an adventure, but I'd recommend just committing to the nearby parking garage instead of circling and hoping for street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Barrio has a lot of space and is great for small and large groups![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is minimalist but gives you the feeling of elevated Mexican to match the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our group was sat at a large table in the back. Service was very overwhelmed during our stay, which created missed orders and slow arrival. At one point, we simply went to the bar to get drinks because it had been 20-30 minutes since we placed our order. The food and drinks themselves were great! They had my favorite Mexican beer, Victoria, and it was priced well! The queso comes with tortillas, which was an interesting choice, as you have to pay extra for chips. Overall, there are many better places in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't avoid this spot if you were in the mood for Mexican or if someone invited you there!

Live right up the road but hadn't been until stopping by for happy hour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is a classy, "business casual" vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not that it stopped me from rolling in wearing jeans and a hoodie. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty quiet and the staff was really friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Seems like it's much more of a late-night and lunch spot. The happy hour menu is pretty good with a huge serving of excellent guac and chips. It's the good, chunky kind of guac that lets you know you're eating avocado instead of some avocado-flavored mush. Well seasoned and comes with really good chips that hold up to the weight. They have a bunch of tacos as well and the vegetarian option was really good. Lots of filling, fresh tortilla, and I was stuffed afterwards. Didn't get a drink but they have some good specials on those as well. I'll definitely be back at some point!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely as one would expect at 50th & France in Edina, though for suburban Latin food - it's all tacos, burritos and tequila, effectively - maybe a bit too much white-tablecloth ambiance for my taste.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did enjoy the hell out of the shishito peppers, crisp and hot. I would caution maybe 2 of 10 were truly spicy-hot, but my first mistake was in not ordering a cold Modelo, a perfect pairing with the peppers. My entree (see photo) was a chicken plate, good but I could do without chihuahua cheese melted on the chicken. Loved the black beans and rice. Our service was adequate, but he lost a star for not delivering a martini. My second mistake was ordering a Hendricks martini, up with a twist, and it never found me. The waiter clearly didn't know what that drink was. I mean, it's gin and vermouth, not some cutesy concoction with egg whites and dry ice. Eventually, the server apologized as it turned out they were out of that gin, or perhaps all gin, I don't know. Like a valet that can't drive a stick, servers of cocktails should know the standard drinks like martinis or why are you waiting tables? I declined a substitute for fear of what I'd receive. Otherwise, Barrio was just fine, and maybe a little better if one doesn't arrive thirsty.

We went to Barrio for a bday party so we had a bit of a larger group (8 ppl). They were able to accommodate all of us and got all of our orders in before happy hour ended! The server was also super friendly and recommended some drinks to us. The portion sizes were pretty small, but they were tasty! I would recommend any of the tacos, but probably multiple of them if you are hungry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a smaller restaurant and there were a lot of people eating at the same time we were so it was a bit chaotic at times to try to find our server.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The walk to the bathroom was also confusing and had to squeeze around groups of ppl.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Felt like a crowded bar at times![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I still would go back, but probably during a less crowded time!

The wait staff was top notch, very attentive for our table of 6. They were always around but not hovering which was nice because we went through a lot of salsa. The salsa and guacamole were delicious as were the house made chips. The rest of the food for all 6 of us was was just fair. We had burritos, tacos, beet salad, chicken plate and a Cubano sandwich and it was all average. I would comeback for drinks and maybe just an appetizer but if I have a real hankering for delicious Mexican food this would not be my first choice.

Great atmosphere even if its only 3:13pm! There is no " happy hour" prices , regular prices for the 3p-6pm crowd. David- GREAT BARTENDER. Not yelling Would love to come back later in the evening for dinner one day That's all I got

Went during the Edina art fair and it was fantastic. Food was delicious and servers were kind. Great patio area and the windows are opened inside.

Tony was our server. He was great. Dining w my date who as a few of you know is vegetarian. Barrios did a great job accommodating with a great appetizer, slightly different guacamole. She got a burrito but way better than most and I make these myself so I was pleased too. I got a quinoa bowl and it was done tasty.

I am updating the review because Pajarito delivered the experience I knew they would and exceeded expectations. See my previous review (chips are great, proteins are great, drinks are great) and all that stands. The additional details here are: they brought us a celebratory split champagne, dessert of choice on the house (the bunuelos were actually super good and I would get them again-- had no idea just how warm, light, sweet, yet dense a donut could be), and a aperatif (a fruity post-dinner mini shot/drink). Not to mention, the host was quick to say "congrats" (I had let them know of the occasion ahead of time). As well, they were happy to reserve an ideal seat of choice for us with advanced notice. Overall, such a great dinner and great service, which is what I was hoping for for this once-in-a-lifetime milestone celebration. Pajarito delivered. Thanks!

We know Mexican food, having traveled extensively throughout Mexico since the 1980s. Mexico City is a frequent destination now that we're older, and hopping around the country isn't as easy. The many dishes we tasted at Colita were bland and lacked the explosion of flavors of authentic Mexican regional cuisine. Go to Oaxaca, and your taste buds will be blown away. Service was cold and perfunctory. We sat at the bar on this Sunday evening in August, and the female server was decidedly corporate, casting humanity aside for a robotic affect, half listening and half uninterested. Fun was vacuumed out of the room. Colita was not designed for laughter and frivolity. The place was crowded, but this was a restrained crowd on a Sunday night. Colita was more Linden Hills than Kingfield, if you know what I mean. Our favorite dish was the carnitas tacos. They had the flavors of Mexico. Our check was Minneapolis high, usually worth it, but maybe not at Colita. It was our last night living in the lakes area before we move to the North Loop. Colita was a good choice to remind us why we're moving. However, it was the wrong choice for a celebratory evening.

It's a cozy atmosphere, it doesn't feel like you need to be all dressed up to fit in. Now the food. My wife and I have been here twice. Once for lunch last week and tonight for dinner. On both occasions the food was outstanding. We were treated by a combination of fresh ingredients, a chefs eye towards delicious flavor profiles, great execution, and fair prices. Certainly keen to come back. I'd recommend the ceviche for an appetizer and if you're feeling spicy ask for the house hot sauce. It's a roasted habanero and it's awesome. For lunch I had the shrimp tacos and they were great also. I feel like I'm gushing here, but the rack of lamb and scallops were both also amazing dinner entrees as well. It's the whole "oh it's upscale so less is more" concept. And listen, yes, the lamb was amazingly tasty, as were the veggies that came with it. I'm definitely not saying the food wasn't good; it was excellent, it just sorta felt like a rip-off? And the chocolate torte the four of us shared at the end was also REALLY yummy (but $10 for a small slice w/ a scoop of vanilla, so it better be). If you've got money to blow, by all means, but for the majority of us, this ain't it. I was sincerely dubious the moment we drove up. The place is in a hole-in-the-wall run-down strip mall and the parking lot is full of potholes. The Chinese place right beside it looks like they haven't replaced their signage in thirty years, or maybe they're outta business. When we proceeded inside I could tell the owners had done their best to convert a crappy space into something roleplaying as modern and fancy. It felt a little out of place. The ambiance wasn't all that stellar (which is normally not something I much bother commenting on, but again if you're gonna charge thirty bucks a plate, I begin to factor in more nit-picky things like that); there wasn't any music or anything to cover up the perpetual mechanical hum that seemed to emanate from the kitchen? The bathrooms had a similar kind of "gloss" over it. I was unimpressed that the men's was just a unisex stall without a urinal or anything that actually makes it "men's." Like, just convert your two single stall bathrooms into gender-neutral or all-gender (literally all that takes is swapping signage) so people aren't "waiting" for the "correct gendered toilet" when there's zero difference between the two. It's 2026, y'all. We don't need to practice pointless segregation. Service was reasonably quick, food was hot. The server did a good job of keeping up with my in-laws' unslakeable thirst for iced tea. Everyone was polite enough to us. And I appreciated they were open fairly late into the evening on a Tuesday!

It took us about an hour to get two burritos yesterday and the restaurant didn't look busy. Maybe they were just short staffed. My main issue is the salsa. They limit you to one packet per person, and it's not the slightest bit spicy. And where are the limes? This place desperately needs a salsa bar with real options and some heat.
