We decided to check this place out during Winter Restaurant Week for lunch because everything sounded good and we love checking out new places. The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything we got. For the meal deal you were to chose a dip, a small plate and then tacos. We each got different things for our dips so that we could try 3 different things; salsa trio, guacamole with house made chips and sikil p'ak with grilled gorditas. For the small plates we got the brussel sprouts and queso fundido. The Brussels were delicious and some of the best I have ever had. We then ended with the last entrees and my mom and I got the shrimp tacos and my sister got the potato taquitos. It was all delicious and we even got some mocktails to wash it all down with and those were also tasty. It's very cozy inside with tables near the windows plus booths in the back of the restaurant plus half booth/half chairs where we sat and it was vey nice. I would say the service was pretty good, he didn't come by for a while to check on us so good thing we really didn't need much. We did have to ask for takeout boxes but we didn't have to wait too long for them. I want to go back and visit for happy hour since they have items on there that they don't have on the regular menu.

Pajarito is a great, upscale choice for a date night, friend hangout, etc. Their food and drinks match the upscale vibes of the restaurant and deliver a great experience. FOOD: I've had their caesar salad with chicken (not a traditional choice for a Mexican food establishment, I know). The salad is quite good with its toppings, etc (although I never like the "wedge style" serving of salads). The chicken is a little basic but no real complaint on that as I am ordering something pretty non-standard. Their chips and beans are above average. Chips are perfectly thick yet crisp and lightly salted. Beans are flavorful. DRINKS: their margaritas are quite good (especially if you're a fan of a very salty rim and style). I appreciate that they can make a good "skinny marg"-- I know, I'm basic. AMBIANCE: upscale to the perfect extent for either a romantic date night or just a good dining out experience. SERVICE: always friendly and professional. I do recommend Pajarito and have been 3-5 times over the past two or so years.

I came here on a last minute Monday visit when I was randomly in the neighborhood and had a craving for Tacos. I'm super happy that I found this place now. We stuck to the happy hour menu and got the quesadillas, chicken wings, and nachos. We also got the habanero margaritas. The best item was the nachos which had a perfect ratio of tasting toppings and chips. The quesadillas were quite tasty as well. Highly recommend both. The wings had good flavor but the actual wings themselves were a bit lacking in meat so could have been better. The margaritas were by far the spiciest I have ever had! Which my wife and I both liked. But half way through we took out the pice of habanero and that tamed things down quite a bit. But if you like spice go for them! We had great service for a Monday afternoon. And we enjoyed the patio out front right on 50th. They also have a back patio that looks perfect for a summer evening.

This is an amazing place to get drinks and dessert before seeing a movie across at the Edina Theater! Full bar and good food on top of the awesome friendly service! (Props to Rosa, our awesome server!). It's a great place for a casual get together or if flying solo, just get a seat at the bar. Worth a try if you're in the 50th and France area!

Always one of my favorite places to have relatively upscale Mexican food, and on Valentine's Day, they even had a few additional items to order, so my partner and I tried 2 out of the 3 dishes offered that day and both were incredible. I tried a few different types of tacos from what I would usually order and they tasted very good. Previously I have tried the birria tacos, and I loved them. I believe that I talked about it when I wrote my review for the Saint Paul location. The alambre tacos had a good balance of crispiness and softness in terms of texture due to the cheese (crispy), and had beef and bacon included, which essentially made them a meat lover's heaven. The shrimp tacos were just as good as how I remembered it, that the honey-chipotle aioli worked magically well with crispy fried shrimp. I also tried the Valentine's Day item called Papa A La Huancaína Empanadas, and the red chimichurri sauce on the top gave the empanadas additional savory flavor that went very well with the mixture inside. I also ordered the octopus this time, which honestly was a catch for $20 because lime aioli, white beans, and peanut salsa macha are three ingredients I wouldn't have thought of to be added with the octopus, but worked so well to provide four distinct kinds of flavors and textures. The entire culinary experience with this dish was just amazing. I didn't have as much of an impression on the shrimp ceviche, but the fact that it existed at all, I appreciated it, because it provided a contrast from the other dishes in terms of taste, warmth, and overall vibe. The chimichanga dulce was essentially a strawberry cheesecake in rolled format which was innovative and tasty. Turning a crepe looking item into a filling sweet dessert was something I fully supported. The key lime cheesecake was great in a conventional manner, with the brown butter graham cracker adding both extra flavor and texture on the top rather than the bottom of the cheesecake. For $9 each, they were easily worth trying and enjoying. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that this establishment continues to thrive within Edina (and Saint Paul) and I think it does a very good job providing high quality food for a relatively reasonable price. Coming here on Valentine's Day was a blessing because this spot wasn't even fully booked when I looked up places to reserve, and yet it was an amazing time and experience for my partner and me.

I'm not big on upscale Mexican spots because I like to stick to the authentic, but we came here and it was decent. The crab ceviche was good, comes in a hard taco presentation. The wood fire octopus was good enough, not enough octopus to sauce and toppings ratio. The star of the show was sweet potato small plate, absolutely delicious I wish I didn't have to share it! Our server was nice and attentive.

Visited 5/7/24. Just barely missed the happy hour by a few minutes aka the amazing nacho deal but the quesadilla was still great too. Loved the salsa/sauce that it came with. Only bummer is that nachos are only on the happy hour so if you miss them no chance of re-ordering these. Otherwise, loved the different margarita and drink options. Service was solid and we enjoyed the patio seating options.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon for late lunch. The guacamole was the star of the show. Tasty margaritas. We tried several different tacos and it was nice to mix and match. Parking is available in several different lots within a short walk. Definitely leave time for strolling and window shopping around this fun city spot!

For appetizers, we ordered the chips and three salsas (Ancho-Guajillo, Avocado-Serrano, Arbol-Cashew) along with the guacamole which was a must! The thick cut, crunch of the chips paired well with each of the salsas along with the guac. We also ordered the shrimp tacos and quesabirria which comes with two tacos per order. Both sets of tacos were absolutely delicious! The shrimp tacos were nice and light, while the quesabirria was rich in flavor. We were able to get seated right away, and the food came out in a timely manner. There are also options for both indoor and outdoor seating.

Pajarito never disappoints. Has been a bit since I was here last and it was during the winter. We enjoyed the patio on a beautiful summer night. The Habanero Cilantro margarita was made to my heat preference, delicious! We shared the guacamole and chips and a trio of sauces to kick off our meal. I love a hearty salty chip! Then we shared the shrimp and quesabirria tacos which was a good mix. Two of the quesabirria tacos would have been too rich for one person. Both were made perfectly and came out piping hot! The service is friendly and helpful, as we asked our questions to zero in on our order. We were asked multiple times how we were doing and if everything was all right with our food. Will be back more quickly next time! Highly recommend if you are in the 50th/France Ave area.

    Happy hour nachos
    Rob B.

Happy hour is where it is for Pajarito. They have, hands down, the best nachos. It's the only place that doesn't give you a pile of fry chips with stuff on top. They are thoughtfully spread out so each chip has toppings. Those are nachos! Beware though they are ONLY available during happy hour. That's why is a 4 instead of a five

Excellent spot for a nice, special occasion dinner out where you're looking to spend a bit more than you might otherwise. It's a casual atmosphere with families sitting next to couples dressed to the nines. The dining room is a bit cramped so it can get loud. Service was attentive and pretty quick; had enough water and they bring dishes as they're ready vs all at once. No dogs allowed but they've got a curbside seating area and a small alleyway patio. The dishes were all super flavorful and texturally interesting. The hearts of palm salad was fantastic and refreshing on a hot day. The palm was tender enough to cut with the fork. The vinaigrette was bright, citrusy, and just salty enough to make the veggies pop. Grilled octopus is amazing. Love the chewy texture without it being rubbery. The beans were silky smooth and crazy rich. The salsa macha adds a nice kick of heat to all the heavy flavors and textures. . Mushrooms were my least favorite dish. Very vinegary and the flavors didn't really blend. The mounds of Cotija aren't really fatty enough to cut through the woody, tangy mushrooms and chili oil. Overall it's excellent for special occasions or a night of treating yourself but a bit tough for my blood.

I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... : Xochitl In Love : La Clandestina : Tuna Tostada : Chicken Tinga Tostada : Seared Scallops : Tlayuda : Colita Old Fashioned : Lamb Barbacoa Tacos : Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing! Order a whole bunch of stuff and share with the table! Value: As I mentioned earlier, I wanted upscale and the priced dddooo reflect that. Lol. This is a nice place so be prepared to spend... Like you're downtown somewhere. In conclusion, I loved this place and I will come back over and over. Check this place out the next time you're in the area!

But once the order was in, everything turned around fast. The service was smooth, friendly, and the food came out quicker than I expected. And that shrimp burrito? Unreal. The tortilla was warm and perfectly toasted, the sauce had that rich, savory kick that makes you pause mid‑bite, and the shrimp... there were so many I genuinely lost count. Owned and operated by three brothers, this family-owned restaurant serves incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes. If you visit, you'll most likely be greeted and served by one of the owners, who treat you like family--wholesome and genuinely high-quality hospitality without doing too much. The service provided and the love poured into the food are comparable to none. I've frequented this restaurant several times, throughout several years, and I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes here include: - Empanadas de Carne or Vegetariana: Beef or vegetable empanadas. These empanadas are pan-fried corn dough, stuffed with your choice of tender, juicy, perfectly cooked braised beef or fresh vegetables. The empanadas are served on a bed of roasted tomato salsa and crema casera. The crispiness and warmth of the empanadas, combined with the tanginess of the sauces, make this dish my absolute favorite. If you're undecided in the appetizer section, this would be the one thing I would absolutely make sure you order. - The guacamole is made with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, roasted tomato, salsa, and served with crispy corn chips. It is one of their top-selling items as it is made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious as such. - The shrimp ceviche is another favorite! Made with a blend of tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and citrus juice, this ceviche is both juicy and packed with tons of flavor. It's the perfect light and refreshing appetizer. - The Tostones and fried yucca, each crispy and crunchy, are also excellent options for sharing or nibbling solo before your main dish. - The Carne Asada is one of my go-to lunches when I visit. Overnight, marinated steak is grilled to perfection and served with achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice, black bean purée, French fries, and a small house salad. The combination with the red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes is sensational. Paired with an achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice that waters your mouth, as well as a side house salad served with a tangy lime vinaigrette that will blow you away. - The Mexican Tres leches is my absolute favorite version! I've tried several, not all, across the Twin Cities, and this is always easily my favorite. A homemade cake soaked with a blend of three milks, whipped cream, caramel chocolate, and topped with crispy coconut flakes. This dessert is decadent as it is delicious. In addition to these dishes, Cahill Bistro offers happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm with specials on appetizers and drinks. They also have daily soup specials and brunch on Saturdays.
