I had lunch here with a friend today. We were greeted and seated right away. Waters were brought to our table quickly. The food was outstanding! We shared the empanada platter, the Cebiche Chino-Peruano, and the fried plantains. I loved the "chips and salsa" that was served complimentary. Everything was so fresh and mouthwatering. We also ordered a couple of drinks that were pretty good. The unfortunate part of our lunch was the waitress assigned to our table was not attentive. I mean, she took our order and then we didn't see her again until toward the end of our meal. We asked for a refill of chips which she never brought. The entire rest of the staff were pulling their weight and we ended up getting our second round of drinks and chip refill from a very friendly gentleman who seemed to be doing all of the work while she was MIA. Everything else was amazing from the food and the fun vibes (live music out front). I definitely plan to go back but will avoid having the same waitress.

Got here early and it filled up shortly later. Service was fantastic. Everyone was polite and very quick to clear empty plates. Food came hot and fast, too! We sat outside and it wasn't too cold. The braised short ribs were delicious. The swordfish was ok. It was a bit under seasoned, but everything else in the dish was tasty. The octopus was cooked well like last time. We had empanadas, too. Was good. Had the flan too, but it wasn't what i expected. I thought the toasted quinoa would be better. It was too soft. The molten lava cake was molten, and for the price, it's much better than the flan. There's only one restroom.

Came in after researching peruvian places in the area, looked at the menu and really wanted the adobo. Had decently high but not crazy expectations because of the prices and needless to say coming here was definitely worth it. We got the Adobo and the Ceviche Mixto and we liked both a lot. The ceviche was one of the best I have ever had in awhile, the fish was fresh and a good variety, as well as the peruvian flavor was unique to set it apart from any other dish Ive had. I wish the portions were larger but the dish was amazing and I couldn't get enough, would recommend. The adobo was very flavorful and honestly the portion was a little bigger than I expected. I loved the texture of the meat as well, was recommended in hindsight to get a tortilla, I think this is a really good idea so maybe next time! Needed a to go box and honestly got pretty wavy off one drink no complaints here. To be honest this isn't something I care a lot about but I guess the selection of drinks could be more varied - if this is important to you perhaps you should factor this in. Overall- 8.5/10. This is a place I would recommend, food was great, servers were so nice to be honest. Making a reservation was very easy. Very satisfactory experience.

It was a birthday celebration for a friend. A reservation for eight at 6:30pm had been made through Open Table. Unfortunately, one of the guests was unable to make it due to a scheduling conflict. We arrived early and were able to be seated before everyone else arrived. We were seated at the very back of the restaurant. Chips were placed on the table, and we ordered a pitcher of House Made Sangria. In many restaurants, Sangria is served with fruit in the glass as well as the pitcher. Here, the fruit was only in the glasses. We're not big drinkers, so while the flavor was very good, but we would have preferred more fruit. There was a lot of conversation before ordering, most of it not related to dinner. When it came time to place our orders, it was decided to order both Appetizers and Entrees at the same time. It was quite the chaotic scene, lol. For appetizers, we got Cerbiche Chino-Peruano, Cebiche Pescado and Palta Rellena. The flavors were excellent. The Avocado on the Palta Rellena may have been a day early to be served as it was quite firm to cut through but I think that's more of a personal preference. We got two orders of Arroz con Marisco. Surprisingly, we were not able to finish both plates. We ordered our food Family Style and everything was shared. Had we ordered individual dishes, this would have been my choice and I would have easily finished it. I found the Churrasco disappointing. Essentially, it's cut up Steak with Fries and Rice, not something I would ever order. What I didn't like was the Steak was covered by the Fries and I couldn't see the meat. And to me, the double starch of Rice and Fries doesn't make sense. I had a very small portion and was not impressed. The Seco de Res was interesting, but my wife felt that the Short Ribs were tough compared to other Short Ribs that we've had. Not so tough that we would send it back to the kitchen but definitely not something we would order again. This dish was her choice. The Aji de Gallina was pretty good. It's a dish that we often order in Peruvian restaurants. The Elote was okay. Unlike Mexican Elote that we've had, there was no mayonnaise which would have helped the Cotija Cheese "stick" to the corn. This was a birthday celebration and we had brought a cake with us. They stored it for us until the end of dinner and then brought fresh plates and forks. Our server also offered to cut and serve for us, but we dealt with that ourselves, making sure that she got a piece of cake as well. Service was good at the beginning and at the end of our meal. In the middle, it was lacking. Not because of anything the staff did or didn't do but we were there for a couple of hours, so we could see when the staff was getting overwhelmed. When the restaurant got busy, there simply wasn't enough staff. It looked like there was the Hostess, three servers and a runner. The smiles faded a bit and as they moved past tables, they lost eye contact with guests. Everyone was moving quickly, even the Hostess was serving water, drinks and chips. There was a man in a suit that greeted us at the end of dinner, but we hadn't noticed him until then. There were two musicians outside the restaurant to the left of the front doors. It's unfortunate that guests inside the building aren't able to enjoy the music while dining. I asked if I could get the wifi password and was told that the wifi wasn't working although I could see it on my phone. I mentioned that it would be nice to have some pillows to sit on. We were on a wooden bench, and I guess I don't have as much padding as I appear. Would we come back? Yes, I would give them another try if we needed dinner while in the area.

Overall the food was too salty and the service wasn't good neither. Heads up that parking will be challenging too.

Trendy and delicious Peruvian spot in the Lafayette area! Came for a birthday dinner and it was the fastest service we ever experienced. All the food came out super quickly and with huge portions too We went with the ceviche sampler which was but different than I was expecting but came with lots of fresh fish and fun garnishments. We also grabbed a couple cocktails that were unique and tasty. I went with the squid ink seafood paella and my husband for the lomo saltado. Waitress was the best and we really enjoyed our dinner

I love my experiences here each & every time. The grilled octopus, the cocktails & today far exceeded my expectation when the sun was out, patio seating is back & Rolando Morales was on the patio playing beautiful music!!! It doesn't get better than this!!

We went here for a birthday celebration and there is a lot of space for big groups. We had 8 people in our party and there was plenty of room for everyone. Service was attentive and the drinks were good. I had the sangria, which arrived in a very full glass loaded with juicy bits of fruits. My husband was very happy with his old fashioned. The pisco sour and pisco punch didn't seem too different from each other according to our family members who ordered them but I didn't try either of them. The empanada platter had four different types; beef, chicken, corn, and spinach & mushroom. They were delicious - savory with a hint of sweetness from the light dusting of powdered sugar, I think. It was served with a sauce but I thought they were fine on their own. The squid ink paella was rich with tender calamari rings, clams, shrimp, chunks of fish and slices of olives. It could have used a bit more acidity like a squeeze of lemon but it that's a minor complaint. The tuna tartare served with house made chips was also good and it had hominy mixed in with the avocado and ahi. It was topped with cucumber slices and a quarter of a hard boiled egg which surprisingly gave it some interesting texture. I liked it but it could do witha bit of added heat from peppers. I would come back here again and maybe next time I'll bring my ghost pepper sea salt to spice some entrees to my liking.

We made reservations for Valentine's Day here this year and were excited to try something new. We haven't had Peruvian food in a few years and the dishes looked intriguing. When we arrived, it was a bit chaotic in the restaurant but we were seated right away in the outdoor area. The ambiance is pleasant and vibrant here and the service is friendly. We placed our orders right away. The waiter recommended the empanadas and arroz con mariscos (paella), which we ordered. It did not take long for our food to arrive once ordered, which was appreciated because we were both quite hungry. The empanadas were presented thoughtfully with one ground beef, chicken, cheese, and mushroom. All of them had great texture but the flavors were lacking for the most part. I'm not sure if they forgot to season the meat but it was bland and the ground beef was chewy and overcooked. The dipping sauce tasted strongly of mayonnaise and the ratio of ingredients just seemed off. Next was the paella . Again, the presentation of the food was appealing but the flavors were not. Neither of us enjoyed it. My wife said all the seafood tasted fishy and not fresh. For me, everything lacked flavor (felt like there was absolutely no seasoning on anything) and the meats were all overcooked. Keep in mind I am someone who doesn't like too much saltiness, but this dish tasted like they left out the flavors altogether. I've had better seafood out of a frozen package from Winco. Such a disappointment. We were hoping for a better experience, but Barranco did not deliver. We won't come back here again, but hopefully the restaurant can improve and bring things back to basics. Keep the ingredients fresh and authentic. I felt that the food was very overpriced for the poor quality.

Found this Peruvian restaurant in Lafayette and has a great outdoor patio with a lot of space for seating, you also can find street parking, restaurants is right in downtown Lafayette great location!! Really nice host, good music, bar area, and indoor seating also available. I think the best dish that we tried was churrasco and the empanadas 10/10!! The worst main course that we got was the anticuchos, no flavor, dried, over cooked, just not ordering that again. Desserts were awesome, what a flavor! My favorite was alfajores!! Service was friendly

This was my second visit to Barranco, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The lomo and paella were prepared to perfection, bursting with authentic flavor, the ceviche was one of my favorites. and the service was outstanding. I look forward to returning again soon!

If you like something refreshing I highly recommend recommend The Lady, it was delish! The food was tasty, served hot, and everything tasted like it was made to order. Also, the cebiche is soooooooooo good!

Parking is free, the outdoor space is nice, and we were quickly seated. After that, it was all down hill. We ordered off the happy hour menu - caesar, cheese plate, shishitos, sliders, and a couple of drinks (none of the specialty cocktails are on happy hour). The beers were the best thing, then the shishitos. Our cheese plate was completely INEDIBLE. You could tell that it had been sitting out for a very long time because the cheese was sweaty and some pieces were MOLDY - like the edge piece of a hard cheese after it's been in your fridge for a while that you cut off and throw away. The grapes were shriveled as well. Not sure how this is acceptable to serve. Supposedly it was made earlier for room service. All they did was take it off the bill and barely apologized - we were in a hurry since it took about 20/25 minutes for everything to even come out and could not wait for them to remake it. Idk, it was appalling and I was hoping for more restitution. Will not be recommending.

From the moment we walked in, the hostess was warm and welcoming, and our server was exceptional throughout the night. The cocktails were also a standout -- the Old Mez, The Vintage, and even my Matcha Bliss mocktail were all . We started with the Brussels sprouts, mussels, and truffle fries. The appetizer portions were generous and satisfying. The mussels were cooked perfectly with a flavorful sauce that had us finishing every bite. The truffle fries were hot and crispy, served with ketchup and aioli. The Brussels sprouts had the perfect crisp in every layer, while the onion, apple, and bacon balanced the dish really well. Unfortunately, the lamb chops completely changed the experience. When the plate arrived, both my husband and I immediately noticed how small the portion was for a $45 entrée -- just a few lamb chops and four small carrots. Compared to the appetizers, it honestly felt more like an appetizer than a main course. I ordered mine medium rare, but my pieces came out rare and chewy with quite a bit of fat, leaving one bite of meat per piece. My husband's pieces were cooked more accurately, but his cuts were a little thicker than mine. For the price point, the dish simply didn't feel worth it or satisfying enough to be considered a true entrée. For two people, including tip, the bill was over $200. We would return, but next time we'd stick to cocktails and appetizers, because that's definitely where Chateau shines.

On my last two visits we ordered just from the appetizer selections, and every dish was superb. After seeing a flaming dish at an adjacent table, I knew I had to try it. It was Greek cheese lit on fire, then extinguished with lemon juice. Fantastic. The lamb meatballs and the grilled octopus were outstanding. Definitely one of my favorte places to go.

The cebiche pescado is our favorite of the ceviches, paired with chips. It features the fish of the day, which most of the time when we've ordered has been red snapper. The Empanadas are a must-order here, and you can't go wrong with any of the options. If you want to have them all, like we did, get the Empanada platter! The chicken empanada is our favorite. For entrees, my fiancé and I shared the Pollo a la Brasa and got the whole chicken. Honestly with the side of fries and salad this meal is enough for 3 to 4 people, especially if you had starters / small plates first. All of it was delicious. We had leftovers for both of us, and it was more cost effective than ordering two separate entrees. Don't forget to use the side of sauce with the chicken! Reservations are easy to make, and parking usually isn't too difficult in the area. The only thing that keeps us from coming back more than a couple times a year is how pricey it is - we usually spend a minimum of $100 just on the subtotal for food before drinks, tax, and tip. Service is very good. The outdoor patio is quieter and tables are more spaced out than sitting inside.

However, My friend said he thought Parada was better than Limon in Walnut Creek for Peruvian food. So I figured I'd give it a shot and try something new. The ambiance was nice and there was live music being played on a Friday night. We were able to get seated without a reservation. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food wasn't amazing but not really bad either. The empanadas were really good and the corn was good too. In my opinion it's not a good value for what you get here. It was pretty pricey but the portions were very small for $18 to $25 per item. In my opinion they should consider bigger portions to provide a better value for customers. Ultimately, I think it's definitely worth trying. I'm sure there are lots of people that would love this place. It just wasn't a great place for me.
