Pineapple infused tequila
Katie N.

We came to Barcocina after taking a stroll through Fells Point. We were able to be seated right away and were able to get a table outside. We weren't sure what to order but our server recommended queso fundido and shrimp tacos. Both were great and full of flavor. We also tried their infused tequila which was a pretty big portion. Would recommended if in the area looking for a relaxing spot.

Drinks review only. Ordered two diff cocktails and maybe it was my choices, but both were too sweet and maybe a little too much mixer. The staff were lovely and very on the ball and the setting was fab!

We chose to indulge in the 'bottomless mimosas' thinking they would come in a mimosa glass, but they were presented on ice.. in a pint glass. The server kept handing them to me before I was done to 'make sure I got my monies worth'. Not very classy. The elote dip had no seasoning, my friend asked for some tajin on the side and that made it better. My hashbrown breakfast tacos sounded cool, but the bacon didn't look like it even made it to the stovetop. My friends french toast was a block of bread and dry. Next time we'll try somewhere else.

Steak and chimmichurri tacos. Amazing

I wanted to give this a 4 star rating so badly but I just can't. I had a hibiscus margarita with a tajin rim and it start off the evening right! Soooo good! My server GG (gee gee?) was amazing. Great recommendations. Has steak tacos and the firecracker shrimp tacos. Both were good. Steak was very well done with the chimmicurri but the fire cracker shrimp out shined the steak. With lime I loved the steak, but the perfect kick of the shrimp was inspiring with the margarita pairing. We sat in the water on a beautiful night. Parking could be an issue, as with anything in the area so plan ahead. Would recommend.

I absolutely love this place--wow, everything from the location, service, freshness of the food, and flavors was just great! We stopped at Barcocina while visiting Baltimore and looking for a brunch spot at the harbor, and we were so happy to find this gem. We started with the Brussels sprouts and guacamole--delicious. And the drinks... wow. We ordered the paloma and their signature pineapple smash, and honestly, 100/10. They make their own pineapple-infused tequila, and it really shows--it was amazing. For tacos, we had the rockfish tacos and the salsa verde tacos. The rockfish tacos were incredible--perfect heat, not overpowering, and excellent flavor. The salsa verde tacos were good as well, but as Latin food lovers, we felt the salsa verde flavor didn't really come through. Still tasty and very tender, though two of the three tacos had more fat than meat, which slightly affected the texture for me. Other than that, the food was great, the atmosphere is cute and elegant, and overall it was a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend!

I fell in love with this Mexican spot. We decided to eat outside and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It's right across from the Sagamore Pendry in Fells Point. The shrimp tacos were the best thing on menu. I also tried the Oaxaca Guacamole and I wasn't crazy about it. The traditional guacamole tasted way better. I would definitely come back.

Booked a resy on open table for Mother's Day brunch. We got a beautiful outdoor table by the water. The bottomless mimosas were watered down severely but our server Kelsey made sure we were taken care of regardless. All the food ordered was delicious and even with the holiday, food arrived promptly and still to temperature (main comment was all items could have been bettered seasoned). I've visited before and will be back again!

Can never go wrong with the chips and guac - def good for some yapping. The peach palmer was so good! I highly recommend for a nice refreshing cocktail. I got the rockfish (phone did not eat lol) and it had a kick to it but super good. My friend liked the green goddess salad as well

I love Barcocina. I've lived in Baltimore for 4 years and it's still one of my favorite places to go. Their brunch is great, their tacos are yummy and they have so much variety in terms of meat/veg and flavor profile. The first taco I ever tried was the Bang Bang cauliflower taco and I'm pretty sure I ordered it every single time I went there for a year. I also love steak taco, and at one point there was a taco take had Korean inspired flavors that was super yummy but it's no longer on the menu. For drinks I love the Julio smash and the red sangria. I also love that they always have bottomless mimosas. There's always ample seating inside and outside. However, if you're sitting on the outside that's closest to the harbor, you're kind of in the outskirts and I'm not gonna lie the two times I've sat on that far side it almost felt like our server completely forgot about us but you're by the water, it's nice and sunny, there's a nice breeze. It's also great for people watching or if you just want a little bit more privacy. The service is usually great, they are frequently training staff tho. I'm not sure if it's just a summer thing and maybe they have younger college aged adults who just need a summer gig, but once the weather gets nice there's a higher chance of you getting a server whose simultaneously training someone or you have a trainee as your waiter and then someone comes every so often asking how they're doing. Not a big deal but it can get a little annoying. Either way the food is great, the drinks are great, the location is perfect for the summer time and they have friendly staff. I will always be a regular there.

Cauliflower Tacos

Excellent. The service was great. The ambiance sitting outside in sight of the Pride of Baltimore ship was great. My son really enjoyed his steak tacos and I loved the cauliflower tacos. The guacamole and chips were excellent. I think it was the Barcocina guac.

Barcocina left me with mixed feelings. I came here for a night out and dinner after seeing strong reviews online and hearing several recommendations. Service: We were seated quickly, which was a great start. Unfortunately, after that it felt like we were mostly forgotten. Once our server came back, everything seemed rushed as if they were trying to catch up. Taste: The food itself was underwhelming. The salsa tasted like it came straight from a jar, and the tacos we ordered were very Americanized with little authenticity or standout flavor. Ambiance: This is where the restaurant really shines. The location right on the harbor is beautiful and the overall vibe is relaxed, making it a great spot to sit outside and enjoy the waterfront. Overall, the setting is excellent, but the food and service didn't live up to the hype.

Warm Elotes Dip

I went here twice in the same week and different experiences... the food is hit or miss. The tacos are lackluster, if you know what a good taco tastes like, these taste like they're missing something. The jalapeño cornbread and octopus dish were both good and creative. The corn dip is just ok, not a standout, and same with the guac. The service is also just ok, my first waitress here was nice the other was very disinterested/not wanting to be as helpful. It is by the water so it's a great vibe/atmosphere-- a homeless guy did come up to our table and he went in the restaurant to ask us to buy something for him so it is a pretty open space.

Food, service, ambiance was all a great time. Love coming here for tasty tacos & the bartenders are all always so nice!

Its…read moreusually hard to get a breakfast buffet wrong but unfortunately this buffet experience was lackluster. They offered a variety of items: deviled eggs, scrambled eggs, chicken and waffles, beef and chorizo quesadillas, sausage, home fries, and French toast. They advertised fruit salad on the menu but they didn't have it out on the day we went. For starters, the food was lukewarm. Everything could have tasted so much better if it was warm. Even when they would refill the pans, everything was still not warm enough. The restaurant was not packed but they were slow to refill for the parties that were there. When we tried to go back for a second plate, most of the items weren't replenished and the line was getting longer. It was so bad that one group asked to pay for their drinks and leave because they weren't able to get any food. My option of each item: Deviled eggs- yolk mixture was on the drier side and bland Scrambled eggs- they were ok. Just needed to be warm Chicken and waffles- it was giving "chicken tender on eggo waffle" chicken was better than the bland waffle. It also didn't help that the syrup they had was cold and thick. It made the waffle (and French toast) colder and hard to swallow. French toast- the first batch was (with the exception of being cold) perfectly cooked and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. The refill batches were so burnt and hard to chew and they didn't bother putting powdered sugar on them. Again, the cold syrup didn't help. Beef and chorizo quesadillas- they may have been a crowd favorite because getting a second serving was hard because they kept going quickly and took a while to replenish. They just needed to be warmer and served with sour cream. Home fries- great with the peppers and onions. Just need to be warmer. Sausage- my least favorite thing because it didn't taste like Sausage. It was very dry. Sadly, the food was a epic fail. This may be a great place for cocktails because the bartender mixed our margaritas perfectly. They had a Build Your Own Margarita menu with many different flavor options. I opted for the watermelon margarita with a Tajin rim. Delicious! My friend had a pineapple mango margarita with sugar rim and he was impressed also. The drinks earned them an extra star because otherwise, I think the food and the slow refilling of the buffet earned it 2 stars.

Forno is officially one of those spots I will make the drive for. This was my second visit, and yes, I came all the way from Gaithersburg because the food is THAT good. It's a super cozy, family-owned, hole-in-the-wall Italian spot with such a warm, homey vibe. Nothing overly fancy or pretentious, just really good food, good wine, and the kind of atmosphere where you can settle in and stay awhile. The MUST order for me is the Arrosticini -- marinated lamb skewers grilled with lemon and EVOO and served with arugula. These are authentic Italian-style lamb skewers, and I'm telling you, you do not find these everywhere. They were so good we ordered TWO rounds. I almost went for a Third but they were sold out...no shame in my game. The fried artichokes were another standout, especially with the creamy cacio e pepe sauce. That sauce was so good I was dipping everything in it by the end of the meal. We also shared the meatballs, prosciutto burrata salad, and the Calabrian Sweet & Spicy pizza which is has fig jam, Calabrian chili, mozzarella, brie, and balsamic glaze. That sweet, spicy, creamy combo on the pizza was so good. We split a bottle of wine too, and I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable some of the bottle prices were. Sam took care of us and was incredibly personable and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We ended up lounging on the couch, sipping wine, eating amazing Italian food, and just vibing. Honestly, such a good date-night or catch-up-with-friends kind of spot. Everything I've had at Forno has been delicious so far. Can't wait to be back! 100/10 recommend. Worth the drive. Come hungry, order the lamb skewers, and thank me later.

This time, I finally tried their food! We grabbed a smoked salmon dip recommended to us by the waiter, and it was well worth it. Smokey, creamy dip topped with fresh dill, pickled onion, and capers served with a variety of buttery crackers. YUM. We also grabbed the Libyan meatballs, which were a spicier twist on a classic marinara meatball. My friend and I shared a couple drinks, but I don't recall the names as the craft cocktail menu changes frequently. One was a boozy tropical sipper topped with a lime, another was a beautiful spicy mango drink topped with mint, and finally we tried a pistachio infused sparkling drink with a side of pistachios. Out of the three, the spicy mango one was my favorite, but they were all very unique and delicious. Love this spot as always and I can't wait to come back!

I have not eaten a lot of Indian food and certainly not recently so I asked for recommendations. We got an order of pakodas for the table and shared them, and also in order of samosas. Both were delicious and the pakodas were incredibly unique, and lightly fried. One of the people at our table had the restaurant weeks prefix that included tomato soup and beetroot pattie, an entree, vegetables, rice, naan and dessert all for $45. The rest of us just ordered off the menu and I opted for the chicken curry with rice which was fantastic and also got a side order of the garlic naan. It was super garlicky but very tasty. The restaurant itself is small with maybe a half dozen tables inside and two or three tables outside but it was just enough for us that evening. Our servers were excellent and helped explain aspects of the menu and helped us make decisions on what we wanted to eat. The only reason for one less star is we were finished eating and the checks arrived, we were never offered the opportunity to get dessert which was really weird. The broth of the curry was nice and rich with a good level of spice, much of what a good curry should have. The goat itself had a bit more bones than I'd prefer, but overall even those were extremely tender & flavorful. Additionally I had used the Naan bread to help finish up the broth, which ended with a very satisfying comfort meal. The service & ambiance itself was also a pleasure. I personally prefer small establishments to avoid unnecessary noise while dining. Mix that with the incentive staff and you'll definitely enjoy yourself on your vist here, much like I did.
