Came here with a few friends for our book club during happy hour. I've been here before and had a great time. We order some tacos, brussels sprouts, spicy pork fries, and pesto udon. The only problems I had with the food was the brussels sprouts were drenched in the sauce which was just too much. The way that the pork fries came made it hard to get the meat with the fries. However, the pesto udon was the best dish we got and was delicious! It was a colder day so we sat inside which is pretty small. There's a patio area that's really nice once it warms up. We visited not long ago on a warm afternoon near closing time. Maybe it was the timing? But Bar Peached was just ok. The environment is cool; there's a sunken & shaded backyard below street level where we sat. They also have some indoor seating and a patio. The service was friendly & prompt too. What didn't impress was the food. We ordered 3 things: Fried chicken & pancakes, steak & eggs, and a side of the kung Pao smashed potatoes. Starting with the potatoes, I would not recommend. It was a very "gooey" dish w/ too high of a topping to potatoe ratio. I was also expecting more of a crispy exterior on the potatoes, but it seems like they were just baked/boiled then smashed, so overall gave a soggy impression. It was also covered in cheese (or what seemed like cheese) even though that isn't listed on the menu. The miso scallion sour cream was on the bottom and because it was served in a bowl, it was hard to get a bit that contained the right ratios of everything. Next the steak & eggs. They were fine in terms of flavor, but the steak was both chewy & seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. The color on the steak gave it that sort of dry look you might expect if the steak was sliced, then exposed to air for 30-60 minutes. The salsa did provide a nice complement to the egg & steak, so had everything been fresh and tender, this could have been a good dish. The fried chicken & pancakes were my favorite dish,l because the chicken had a nice crispy exterior, which was a pleasant contrast to the pancakes. I didn't realize the syrup would already be dispensed on the pancakes when served - I would have rather had it on the side - but the pancakes actually didn't get too soggy. We had the mozzarella corn and chips and it was delicious. I've had this at Korean BBQ but nicer like this with tortilla chips. It is my new favorite dip. The chimchurri fried fish is so full of flavor and we wrapped it in corn tortillas. The charred Brussels sprouts were tasty with the peach jam. We also got the Thai chili BBQ steak was cooked perfectly. It went well with the rice and egg. For dessert, we had the crispy and chewy rice doughnuts and caramel sauce. We look forward to coming back and trying other dishes and having binsoo for dessert. We loved everything and the service was fantastic. Really nice and thoughtful people work here. Girls book club happy hour meet up! Such a good happy hour spot for drinks & food. Our server was attentive and kept bringing full bottles of water for the table. I ordered 2 tacos (fish & banh mi). I thought the fish was pretty bland but the banh mi was delicious. Flavorful and lots of pork belly. I loved the pickled radish on the top, it really enhanced all the flavors. I tried the pesto udon, it was unique. I love pesto and i love udon so, no complaints there! The brussell sprouts were not super greasy, cooked very well. Everything surpassed our expectations! We came Sunday around 6 for dinner and happy hour! Happy hour is daily from 5-6:30! Great deals on drinks and food specials! The outdoor patio with the tree is beautiful and has shade coverage. We sat inside and it's very cute! Small brunch menu. The Thai noodle salad is mostly arugula and very few noodles. All the drinks had that nasty austin water flavor. They would benefit from a water filter. The drink Grey's Anatomy was too heavy w lavender, and my wife loves that flavor. My lemonade didn't have pulp, and left me wanting a chicfila lemonade instead. The bbq pork pancake was good. The issue was service; unintentionally our brunch waiter simply forgot to check on our table throughout the experience. As a result, when a food order was dropped incorrectly (missing an ingredient), no one came by to ask if everything came out okay preventing a chance to correct the mistake. While tables around us seemed to be getting decent service, we were simply ignored or forgotten. The waiter did mention how good my food must have been after noticing my empty plate, but after waiting for 20 minutes after finishing I had to take matters into my own hands and walk upstairs to find and pay my check. When a customer that you ignored and admittedly messed up an order with and who had to come find you to get a bill is visibly upset, it's usually a good idea to grab a manager or adjust the bill or something. I think in this case the waiter simply lacked the awareness of how poorly they did, and how poorly they responded to doing poorly (and here we are). Food was good. Made the reservations for Saturday brunch(patio), but could've just walked in, as there was barely 2-3 tables occupied(at 1:30), patio is cute but not as cute as there pictures, our host was nice, that's the main reason for 3stars, otherwise it would've been less. This was my second time to Bar Peached and my first time for the brunch menu and I would definitely come back again to make sure I get to try everything on all the menus! I got one of the Mother's Day specials, a Duck Adobo- it had coconut milk in it and was creamy, not like the traditional Filipino adobo I'm used to, but it was very tasty and a fun and different dish. I also got to try the chicken and pancakes- very tasty and the chicken was so tender though overall a bit sweet for me, and the bbq pork scallion pancake roll- also a bit sweet but typical for bbq pork. The house spicy margarita is bomb! A little spicy but most of the tingle hits the back of your throat, it doesn't leave the mouth burning. Photos are from our first visit which was the dinner menu; I don't remember what all we got but it was all fantastic! I think the lettuce wraps were for the pork belly which was just right, a little crispy and tender. Ambiance fits well for anyone interested in a casual and fun upbeat mood, with your selection of tons of outdoor seating (worked even on a rainy day, to be honest), tables, or a fairly large bar. Came specifically for the happy hour. $5-$7 drinks (draft cocktails, draft beer and wine), and $2-$5 off snacks and small plates. Looking forward to returning for the social hour burger. From the social hour taco menu, would recommend the pork followed by the fish (although we tried all three). Brussels were what you'd expect. Happy to get some veggies, but wouldn't jump to order again. The star of the visit (other than bartender Yaz) was the Thai Chili BBQ steak with the 14-min cooked egg (sous vide). A friend suggested this place so we got a reservation for 4 on a Saturday evening. Nice ambience was the first thing we noticed. The service was quick and attentive and the finally the food and drinks were really nice too. We got the drink of the day (forgot the name) and a lot of appetizers. I visited bar peached for the first time for a friend's birthday. The food was well seasoned and expertly cooked, but the portions were very small for the price point. I ended up picking up food on the way home. I tried their draft cocktail, Margarita de peached. It's adorned with VERY salty salt. I was under the impression it was cut with something, but ended up feeling like I drank from the spout of table salt. The garnish also made the drink salty so it was hard to drink. I didn't care for the very large picture of cowboy Clint staring at me while I ate my food downstairs. As a Black woman who very recently relocated here and being the only two Black people in the dining area, it just made for a very awkward and slightly uncomfortable dining experience. i loved how quaint and cute this place is! the menu has really unique asian fusion items, but unfortunately i was disappointed by the taste. both the brisket and banh mi tacos were too dry and the meat didn't taste quite right. the gochujang wings were so tiny and was drenched in sauce that was both too sweet and bitter at the same time. also we tried to send something back that we didnt order, but they told us not to worry and just keep it anyway, then proceeded to charge us for it. it took forever to take off the bill too. however our waiter was really nice and even gave us a free dessert for our friends bday + a polaroid picture of her. tldr i think this place is good for vibes and happy hour but i wouldn't come here to enjoy the food read more

A very homey vibe to the place we arrived during their happy hour and they graciously got us a table on a Friday night. They told us we had to be done at a certain time because that table was being used for a reservation. They have a great happy hour and we ordered a couple of items on their happy hour menu and they also an Austin restaurant week menu going as well. All of our food was delicious but our Austin restaurant week items were coming out very slowly. With it being new items on their menu they were having troubles keeping up and we never got our main dish and the dessert. It was a disappointing experience and unfortunately got charged for the items we never received. Everything else about the experience was great and the food is delicious and they have a great menu. All photos online looked great and made my mouth water, but the food itself was very disappointing. I know it is Asian fusion with southern comfort food, but I feel as if the southern twist made the food unexciting and bland. The Malaysian fried rice was pretty bland, but the fish on the other hand had a few sauces that came with it and really made the dish pop. Service- The host was nice and seating was very quick. Our server was enthusiastic, attentive, and catered to all of our needs although it seemed he was the only one working on our visit with it being a full house too. Ambiance- The ambiance was perfect for a date night. We sat inside and the lighting was moody.... with the restaurant being set in a small house it was the perfect vibe being downtown. It has a homey feel also. Other- Maybe it is just me being an Austin transplant (from Dallas) but the 'Wellness Tax' (5% added gratuity for employee benefits) makes no sense. Why am I funding Bar Peached employees when it is the employers responsibility? I'd recommend they take this away. The burrata with peaches was a very generous portion. I ordered the noodles and we shared both dishes for the first course. For the second course, we both opted for the vegetarian alternative which was a mushroom dish. It was very tasty and had a perfect level of spice to it. Desert was sticky rice with peaches and ice cream. Yum! My cocktail was a plum one. It wasn't a ten but it was pretty good. I also liked the glass it was in. I was so full by the time we left. Taiwanese Duck Roll: Really tasty and very filling appetizer. Would recommend! Mapo Bolognese: I was looking forward to eating this meal the most and was a bit disappointed in how cold the dish was when it arrived at my table. I saw many warnings beforehand that it is super spicy (it definitely has a kick, but not spicier than the Samyang spicy noodles if you like those!). Honestly it missed the mark for me. The dish would have benefited from some more salt or soy sauce IMO, just something to give it a bit more depth of flavor or umami tones. 3.5/5 Malaysian Fried Rice: I loved the peanut undertones of this dish but wasn't the biggest fan on the texture. It was more soggy/sticky instead of separate grains. That was my only complaint with the meal. 4/5 Service wasn't the fastest on a Sunday evening, but there was a large party seated next to us which may have slowed things down. The other day we were looking for a place to brunch and we end up trying Bar Peached which is an Asian fusion place that's part of the Peached Tortilla family of restaurants. Located on West 6th St near Lin, this place had a beautiful outdoors area. The trees provided a nice canopy of shade and the fans provided decent cooling for brunch. We had walked upped and were seated quickly. Our waiter, Jack was nice and friendly and knew a lot about the food and drinks. I started off with a Bloody Samurai and my friend had the Life is a Peach Frosé. I love Bloody Mary's but the Bloody Samurai is just as good, if not better. Surprisingly the sake and habanero bloody mix worked great together. The salt on the rim is very fine and seem to provide an extra level of taste with the bloody mix. The frosé was very refreshing. For food we started off with the Pork Buns. They tasted just as good as they looked. For the entrees, I had the Steak & Eggs and my friend had the Thick Cut Seasonal French Toast with a side of eggs. The Steak and Eggs were amazing. The fried egg was perfectly runny that blended the Akaushi Tri Tips and Shiitake Hash. The Serrano Salsa and Horseradish Crema provided a nice heat and extra layer of flavor. The French Toast was divine with the bourbon cream caramel. The Beetlejuice is a can't miss as is the Morelos. One is tequila the other mezcal both are light and refreshing. Dinner menu is comprised of dishes that are unique yet familiar. From the corn ribs that will remind you of Mexican style street corn to the Korean poutine like spicy gochu pork fries are sure to satisfy your palate. My favorite however was dessert, you can't leave without trying the choco-monster Korean Bingsu. It's like a the ultimate cereal bowl! So, good stuff first: food is spicy and interesting, room is lively, drinks are strong and creative. We (ultimately) had a really good dinner. But before it got good, it was pretty awful. Five of us showed up for a 7:15pm reservation and got escorted to "the private dining room." Spoiler: it's not a private dining room; it's a basement. 20-something other people were eating down there, surrounded by industrial boxes of toilet paper and paper towels. I get it: Bar Peached has gotten popular and there's a ton of demand, but if you're going to seat diners in a windowless basement, you should warn them. We gently asked if there was something upstairs in the, errrr, actual restaurant. We were told it might be a few minutes, which was totally fine. We were there for a birthday and the ambience, happy to wait. Went up to the bar, and night went from odd to embarrassing. We had just ordered a drink and settled in to wait for table, when hostess Alli launched herself our way SCREAMING. "No standing at the bar! Let's go! Get out!" The two members of our party who were sitting in bar stools were allowed to remain; the three who were standing and waiting were marched outside, downstairs, and parked next to a dumpster while we waited for table. I now understand: despite the name, Bar Peached REALLY isn't a bar and takes that incredibly seriously. They want you ordering dinner at bar, not drinks. And they very much don't want anyone standing and waiting. And... okay, I guess? But Alli yelled at us, embarrassed us, talked down to us, and just totally ruined a nice evening. It was baffling behavior -- unnecessary, unhinged, unkind. I gently said as much and the response was "I'm just doing my job." Again, okay, maybe? But wow. We were eventually marched in from the (literal) cold and seated at a terrific table. Dinner was lovely, server was great, food was inventive and delicious. But it's hard to come back from a terrible and insulting start to evening. I stepped outside and spoke to manager during dinner -- she was apologetic and understanding. Explained that the hostess in question "was on her way out." Not sure if that implies a termination or resignation, and it totally doesn't matter. Good she won't be working there anymore, bad she's still behind hostess stand insulting customers with one foot out door. Anyway. This is an adorable little restaurant with a creative menu and stellar cocktails. Secretly, we liked the apps better than the mains and the deserts even better than the apps. But all great. The patio is equipped with fans, shade, and friendly staff amid white and turquoise seating areas. The tree canopy cannot be beat! For brunch we tried the steak and eggs, French toast, and pork buns. The Serrano salsa on that steak was amazing, especially when combined with the egg yolk and horseradish cream! The French toast was huge! (All the portions are.) it had a seasonal fruit compote, hand whipped cream and brown sugar crumble. I'd change the crumble to much less- really; a salted bourbon pecan crumble would have neutralized some of the sweetness and added another dimension. The pork buns were think and done well. A bit too much hoisin, but they were good. The drinks were spot on! I could have drank 10 of the froses! I went here Saturday night with a couple of friends who are locals. The picked it and I'm so glad they did! I love a good fusion spot, and Bar Peached has Korean-Soul Food-Tex Mex with some sprinklings of other Asian influences. We tried a bunch of different things and they were almost all hits. The loaded fries were fantastic. The Brussels sprouts were only ok, a little too oily. My friends loved the fish tacos. I had the burger and while the whole plate was a little sparse for the price it was tasty! The vibe is what we really enjoyed though, it's a great patio setting and and a fun environment. I would love to return for brunch the next time I'm in town. read more

This place is great. Food, service, cocktails- I really like it and it's convenient to a lot of places I tend to go to so I would love to go more often. However, I find the 5% wellness charge pretty obnoxious. To be clear- totally in favor of employee wellness and everyone I interacted with there is great- but just charge me a couple bucks more for an entree and use that to provide whatever benefits you'd like to. Having this on there and then putting it on me to ask them to take it off the bill if I don't want to pay it is, frankly, passive aggressive and just crappy. Again- happy to pay more, tip more- but please don't embrace these San Francisco-esque shenanigans. We're all adults here. read more
