    Beef Empanadas & Hibiscus Lemonade
    Johanna J.

This was my first time dining at this food hall (back in November), recommended by a colleague, and it turned out to be a solid experience. Fareground feels similar to an elevated food court, with plenty of options and ample seating. Just keep in mind that it's mostly self‑service--you place your order and bring it back to whichever table you choose. I went with Taco Pegaso and had two beef empanadas paired with a hibiscus lemonade. Everything was delicious, and I'd definitely return to try more of the rotating restaurants.

Fareground Austin is a gathering space of food and culture. It is Austin's first food hall located downtown on Congress Avenue. I utilize it more for the culture aspect as I do yoga most Sundays in the outdoor plaza courtyard area with SwiftFit events. It makes for a great shaded meeting space for outdoor community events. They also offer other special events including live music, craft and vendors markets, happy hours and cooking classes. It also has 7 different restaurant options and bars on site. I have been to Ellis, one of the bars. I also have visited Taco Pegaso who prepares breakfast tacos from scratch on a flattop outdoors on Sunday morning. I hope to try some of the other restaurant options in the future. This is a great space for hosting community events.

I had the lunch special from Austin Rotisserie! I chose the sandwich with ham and carrot soup. The carrot soup could have used some more flavor but both were good! Would probably try something else next time!

    Happy hour Frosé

Located in the bottom of the Wells Fargo building. Has a great outdoor space to sit in the sun or shade. Multiple food options and you can online order all the restaurants at once and each restaurant will text you when your order is ready. There is a bar that has happy hour specials. A parking garage across the street that charges $10 for 6 hours if you can't find street parking.

I ordered one of the happy hour/game day special margaritas. It was okay, not bad pricing but taste was alright. I like that you can walk up and order and sit wherever and there's food options!

It took a second to find it, but so glad we did. It is across from the JW in the bottom level of the office building across the street!! This is a cute "food court" full of enjoyable eateries! We had the tacos but no need to go there again, they were good but nothing to write him about. I hope to get back down there to try the soup dumplings or the Venezuelan food!!!!! You can get better tacos at the TacoDeli down the street. It has a great seating area that looks up to the street and they have outside dining, great for those furbabies!!! They come around and pick up your trays, which was super nice!! If you are downtown check them out!

    Little Wu dumplings

I went to Little Wu to get some dumplings and they were definitely dumplings, though too crispy and too large and puffy to enjoy the filling in the initial bite. For like fast gyoza it's alright though, filling! The food hall itself looked much more spacious in pictures, it felt a fit cramped in person. I definitely think they intend on guests eating outside, which is definitely okay for a great weather day. It's very clean and cute inside though with kind staff so that was great. I'd love to try one of their other vendors though, I'd go back!

I really like the vibe of Fareground! I went on a chilly Saturday afternoon after a 2 mile walk. I ordered something from 4 of the stalls and had a couple of drinks from the bar. They have drink specials daily. There's plenty of seating inside, outside and at the bar. The service from each merchant was good. I'm glad I checked it out at the last minute. It's a great place to meet up with friends or family, blind date, any casual occasion.

It's an ok vibe here. Lots of space and outdoor area. Not lots of restaurants on the inside, I was hoping it had lots of restaurants. No bakery shops on the inside. That was a bummer for me.

Found this food hall in austin and it's a gem! I love food halls, reminds me of Europe and New York. Keep in mind, this place is tiny, with only a few places to eat, but I love that it's an incubator for restaurants to start out! I think it's a cute place to meet up at too. Austin rotisserie: I tried the croissant and poulet roti and was unfortunately underwhelmed. The croissant was heavy and had a strange sweet aftertaste, I'm used to light airy and flaky with a butter taste. The sandwich was quite bland + sweet and vinegary for my palette. What I did like was the cute presentation of the croissant coming with a tiny French flag, and the sandwich wrapped in twine! Little Wu Ah so good! My favorites were the taro chicken egg rolls and chicken Shu mai. The spicy beef noodles were great too! I didn't care for the chicken potstickers.

Landlords want the land to build new high density apartment buildings. * * * Double Waah. The Bouldin Creek Food Park is still around. Bouldin Creek Food Park is probably the worst of the traditional First Street food courts. It is the northernmost of the First Street food courts - the one nearest to Palmer Auditorium and downtown. It is on a teeny tiny strip of land between First Street itself and the gulch of East Bouldin Creek. The lot is too narrow and oddly shaped to permit high density development. So the landlords are going to leave this place alone. Just as there is precious little room for development, There is also precious little room for the food trucks and the parking. So simply from lack of space, the customers sit practically on First Street itself. The eating tables get the full blast of First Street traffic. The eaters get the noise and the carbon monoxide. They also get the uncompromising blast of the Austin summer sun There is one exception to the rule. If you look carefully, you will find exactly one table in the back that is rustic, quiet and pretty. The East Bouldin Creek Gulch runs there. The gulch has lots of shade and really nice rock cliffs. Picnic heaven? No such luck. The back is where they dump the detritus and spare junk from the food trucks. The back has pallets, framing and extra plastic bottles the carts don't have room for. You are in a eating in a trash pile, a shady trash pile but still a trash pile. * * * Life gets more interesting if you have to go to the bathroom. The bathroom literally is a porta-potty. To be fair, they empty it frequently, so it is not too gross. However, there is no running water to wash your hands after you do your business. Not being able to wash your hands is not great if you intend to eat food afterwards. * * * If the food trucks were absolutely marvelous, one might tolerate the bad location and set-up. The trucks they have are run of the mill. Dawa is better than run of the mill. The rest are ho hum. All of these trucks would be more pleasant in a nicer location. Mueller for example would be a huge promotion for any of them. If you have a food truck you adore, and Bouldin Creek is where it happens to be, all power to you. Enjoy your meal. Enjoy watching the cars drive by. Be sure to go to the bathroom before you leave the house.

We ordered the ox knee bone soup. The soup was great and had lots of meat in it! I would highly recommend this place - the location is kind of hidden in comparison to the other stalls with bright signs so I can see why people end up eating the other places tha this spot.

Narrow Street 512 serves up Authentic Korean food with a personal touch. It feels like you're eating a home cooked meal at your Aunt's home in Korea. I experienced Narrow Street as a solo diner. My go-to dish I order 90 percent of the time I go there is the Chadol Plate (A3). It is beef brisket. You normally need to go to a KBBQ spot and get covered in a layer of smoke. Skip smelling like a campfire and get A4 at Narrow Street. The beef brisket comes with rice served in a metal bowl. You get 3 or four small plastic containers of banchan the rotates seasonally. There is a variety of different kimchi, fish cake, corn slaw, potato salad and more. Once in a while I like to switch it up and I order the Cold Noodles (F1) or squid and pork stir fry (A4). The cold noodles are refreshing with crisp cucumber, white radish kimchi, and korean pear. The noodles are bouncy with a nice chew. Great in Summer and Winter. The Squid and pork stir fry comes with a bowl of rice and it is quite spicy. It is spicier than average but still less spicy than Thai chili. The chewy squid and pork are nicely complemented with the crunchy stir fried cabbage. Once you taste it you can't stop eating it. The price at Narrow Street very reasonable for what you get in my opinion. It is sit down restaurant quality food in a fast casual setting. You can dine solo or go in a big group as there is plenty of seating at the Hmart Food court. You place your order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to alert you to go pick up your trays of food. The Korean ladies who work there are super friendly and will help you make your menu selection if you have any questions. I've been a dedicated regular since 2023. Narrow Street is my go-to for my Korean food fix!

The exterior building mural was amazing - Asian street scenes. Loved the cute Asian table cups, table decor, and the bathroom was another story lol, the toilet was a full on bidet. Toilet seat opened up automatically when I came up to it. And the paper towels were luxuriously thick and soft, not the cheap stuff. Our server was attentive, accommodating , and understanding. We told her of our special needs and she answered our questions. We all ordered from their lunch menu- which included choice of soup and steamed rice. I ordered the crispy shrimp with jalapeños. Perfect! Extra large plumpy shrimp with bits of sliced jalapeños and cooked veggies. Definitely not spicy or saucy. I enjoyed my choice of soup- egg drop, comfort soup for the soul. Our table shared an order of soup dumplings and shu mai. The soup dumplings were fabulous- an explosion of soup in each delicately wrapped package. Everyone at our table enjoyed their dishes! Overall, excellent food and service with cute decor!
