Ok, 3 stars for the restaurant but an extra star for our waiter who was freaking hysterical and made us laugh the entire time without being inappropriate or pushy!! So this was definitely a greasy over priced bar food type menu. Came here to grab a drink with a friend and had zero expectations to eat which was wise, because if you have celiac, you won't eat. Anything that could be made gluten free seemed a little bit high likelihood to be cross contact but our freaking awesome waiter knew exactly what could be altered to be "gluten free" so he may had been willing to work a little with the cross contact measures if I was legit hungry. Happy hour was limited on selection but the martinis were great for $10!! The patio was lovely and there was going to be live music which we missed but the warm up sounded great. I'd definitely go back for happy hour. The server, again, was super funny without being obnoxious or offensive when I mentioned my celiac (it happens quickly when people think it's funny) and honestly it was good vibes.

I should have knocked on wood when I wrote the review for Bar Louie because barely one week later, I brought a celebratory of 7 in at 4:30pm on a Friday, and the "positives" were SO much NOT. My thought was the group could get tasty Happy Hour food (such as the Salmon sliders I raved about in the first review). Nope! The Happy Hour menu has been "edited", so now they have a Happy Hour menu pretty much the same as every other pub-style bar/restaurant. They didn't even wait until they had new menus. It was pretty embarassing to take guests to a place that had printed out menus (hand-cut that looked like a 1st grader did it!). Come on, Guys! In addition, service was slower than usual, particularly our large cocktail order. The server explained (20 minutes after we ordered) that someone gad dropped a tray near the drinks, so they had to dump them and make new ones. Well, Ok. I didn't hear any glass break, but okay. Haha. The place is now...meh. I will definitely knock on wood next time.

Great vibe good service. Nice outdoor patios with fireplace. Cool place to hangout. Spacious inside dining with plenty of seating by the fabulous bar or at the tables or booths all around. Espresso old fashioned is good but the dragonfruit margarita is just too sweet and very light on the alcohol.

This place is fine for what it is. It's got plenty of TVs so good for watching sports, indoor and patio seating, and can accommodate big parties. The food and drinks are decently priced and definitely do the trick. Service is a bit on the slow side but it's nice not to feel rushed. They will turn on the audio for the "game of the day" too so that's nice. Came in for March madness final 4 and it was definitely lively. My biggest complaint is the bathrooms are gross here. Every time I've been here the restrooms are not very clean which leaves me wondering if the rest of the facility is.

You will need to park around the location but there is a lot of parking around the mall. We went for a work party. The happy hour was amazing. So many great items and larger in size. I think we easily ordered 1/2 of the HH options and all were tasty. Beers on tap were also on the HH menu. They took great care of us. We missed that they auto charged us a tip and tipped over the "pre-tip" but even with that due to the HH it was a great deal for all we got. We all pitched in $30 each and left full and happy.

Came to Bar Louie for dinner with my family. We ordered the Steak Frites, the Crispy Parmesan Chicken, Chicken Wings. It wasn't very busy since it was right after a holiday, but the food still took quite a while to come out. The steak came out more medium-well than medium--good portion size, but a bit tough for me. The Parmesan Crusted Chicken was flavorful, but not as crispy as I expected. The Wings Bone In were the highlight for me--really flavorful and crunchy. Overall, the meal had its ups and downs, but I'd come back to try other items on their menu.

    Yummy Caesar Salad with Chicken!

Great food...had a chicken caesar salad, fish sandwich, and Trio Dips & Chips (guacamole, salsa and cream dips are very tasty!) Sat outside on patio w our dog (super happy they allow dogs on their outside patio) near the warm fireplace (they also have heaters if desired) & watched game as inside screens face outside patio which is nice. Had the cheesecake & that was super delicious. And, if you like cheesecake, their cheesecake is definitely a must try for dessert! It is super yummy! Highly recommend Bar Louie for great food, excellent service, Avi was fantastic & we always like seeing Jade too as she is super to all guests as well! Prices are reasonable, food is fresh & delicious & the service is prompt & friendly. Conveniently located in the Tustin District near the theatre.

    Cool spot.

Great spot here at the District. Good food, great service, and plenty of TVs for all the games. Might honestly be one of the best sports bars I've been to. I'm in town for work and wanted a place to catch a little MLB (even though my Padres are out of the mix ). Came with a few coworkers and we all had a great time. Our server (name to be added) was awesome -- super friendly and on point the whole night. They had burger specials today, and I went with the mushroom burger but swapped the chicken for need. Perfect size since I wasn't looking for a huge dinner. I subbed a Caesar salad for fries or tots... but next time, I'm definitely going tots. Grabbed one of the beer specials and added a little sauza shot on the side -- total win. Great vibe, good crowd, and an easy place to hang out and watch a game. Will 100% be back next time I'm in Tustin.

First time at Bar Louie and had great drinks, appetizers and service. $10 Martini Monday was good! Effen good will not disappoint you if you are looking for something refreshing. Hands down the calamari was crunchy, flavorful and soo good!! If you get Nomi as your server you got lucky! Very sweet, attentive and fun. Will definitely come back.

What can I say. BAR FUCKING LOUIE is a good name. Catchy. And not just 'cus it's my name in the Caucasian version. I probably came to Bar Louie randomly throughout the years, mainly at this Tustin Legacy / District location, but once in Downey, CA after having dinner at Lazy Dog. I typically would only come here to drink -- not 'cus I was avoiding the food, but because I usually ended up here post-dinner and in goblin mode. The last couple of times I was there (Sunday and Monday), I finally spent a little more time and realized it's a really cool and chill spot. The food is actually not bad at all. I like places with happy hour and some deals, and Bar Louie delivers on that front. And honestly, I'll just leave it with this: I understand now why Bar Louie (at least this location in Tustin) has such a high rating, especially considering the high number of total reviews. I think it fairly deserves a 4.5 and would leave that exact score if Yelp actually allowed a more granular, detailed, and specific grading scale. I like keeping it real here. But the reason I'm rounding up is because of the customer service and hospitality I received nights in a row, back to back. Tony Z, the bartender in particular, was awesome and so much fun to talk to and order from. His partner in crime who was there was great too. I forget her name, but she referred to herself as a certified bigback -- which resonated with me and basically means we're probably related. Cheers. I look forward to coming more often than I used to. The lemon pepper wings are way better than the ones at that miserable, pathetic Buffalo Wild Wings, btw.

So I tried this place again, years later, to see if service had improved. I'm disappointed to see it did not. The food was subpar and pricey. The chicken strips were super dry and overcooked so we asked for additional sauce to try to eat them (since what we received barely made it for 1 piece). When the bill came we were charged extra for the sauce. When I questioned the server she ignored me and just asked if I was paying by card. Service was slow with only a few tables filled. There were definitely more workers than customers. I definitely won't be back and would recommend you walk on by and find another place to eat and enjoy.

The ambiance is a bit quirky and moody, great setting for a special occasion. Interesting menu with lots of variety. We ordered the grilled cheese dumplings, yellowfin tuna poke, parmesan garlic fries, ribeye, and chilean sea bass. Two clear favorites: the grilled cheese dumplings are such a creative concept -- if you love tomato soup and grilled cheese, it's basically the perfect bite in dumpling form. And the chilean sea bass was really the star of the night -- beautifully seared so it's crispy on the outside but soft, juicy, and tender inside, and the couscous paired with it really well. The one thing I'd skip is the ribeye -- the texture and flavor just didn't deliver the way the other dishes did, especially at that price point.

They bread was perfectly soft as if it just came out of the oven. The honey and butter was a great complement to the bread. For our main we got the seafood risotto and NY Strip. Both were excellent. The drinks were very refreshing and strong. Our server was very attentive and provided great service throughout the night! We even got a complimentary dessert for our anniversary! Will definitely be coming back here in the future!

One of the ingredients listed was shishito peppers. I showed the server that there weren't shishito peppers. Without me asking, he told the kitchen to prepare a plate on the side, which was nice. However, for a $50 plate that's a big oversight. The "yuzu glaze," tastes like something from a Panda Express or an Asian fast food spot. I scraped it off since it was overly sweet. The sea bass was perfectly cooked, which was the one good thing about the dish. My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops, which were under seasoned and the carrots were undercooked. We wanted to order more, but decided against it because we were disappointed by the arancini, which was also under seasoned and greasy. We live close by and really wanted to like the restaurant. The ambiance was pretty poor. The large wall screen was playing a series of "screensavers"/stock footage that was distracting. It was on repeat too, and I probably saw the dancing astronaut 3-4 times. We were celebrating a birthday and the hostess said she'd make a note when we made the reservation and they'd take care of us. Nothing happened, and that's fine but just shows that the price you're paying doesn't match the level of food or service you'd expect. For any special occasions, I'd celebrate elsewhere.

The raichi drink was good and the miso carbonara was creamy and the proportion of bacon to pasta was perfect. It is super cute inside as well, but the service was kinda slow because they only had one server for all the tables. I think it's important to compare this to Ini ristorante because I think with this place being new that it is quite similar to Ini especially with the japanese italian fusion concept. I would say it is basically the same price if not more expensive than if you were to go to Ini and I personally think the food, ambiance and service is better at Ini than here. So in the future, I would be open to going back and there was nothing wrong with the restaurant, but I would definitely choose Ini over momonoki just cause I feel like I get more with how much I spend.

Know where you're aiming to go. - There is a sister restaurant named Mono Yama two doors down ...cue to me walking in between aimlessly because my friend recommended the place and all i recalled was "momo". That said, the people were super nice in both places. You can tell it happens often. We went right as it opened, and we got seated right away. The menu is via a QRC on the table. We ordered 3 things - vongole pasta. Previously they offered it uni but this one had claims and shrimp. We also got the pesto and the calamari. Calamari was crispy but it also was slightly too salty and seemed to be a lot of batter. The calamari pieces were small. The pesto pasta was okay, but the pesto wasn't the traditional pesto. I couldn't put my finger on it but it must've been the dashi. The udon was cooked well though. Soft, definitely not al dente. This vongole was the biggest miss. It had a taste that we also couldn't figure out, but it was not enjoyable to eat. We left the meal very dissatisfied. The friend I went with, who has gone before, also agreed it was disappointing. As someone who hates to waste food, we were very close to leaving nearly half of each dish there. My friend ended up taking it back. Later that evening, we both were feeling off. Idk, perhaps it was a coincidence. In the end, it was a truly sad experience.
