Giving five stars, even though Gainesville was the best BL in VA. Outstanding service from Tyshawn at the bar, as always. Sam and Jenny are awesome if you're sitting at a table-- the pacing is 10/10. Sunday nights are a blessing with Ms. Jamie behind the bar. Reading some older reviews and just wanted to mention that whoever claimed that the "Manager Ashley is racist" was clearly not in their right sober brain and was absolutely misinformed about who chooses what music is played. This location has the most diverse staff.. not to mention none of the management is racist in any way, shape or form. Do not let someones drunk review deter you from visiting Bar Louie. Calling someone out for being racist online because the DJ is playing what the DJ wants to play is immature and harmful to a business and that individual needs to remove their review or apologize to management. read more

Even made eye contact and signaled to the waiter and she said "just a minute." Still hasn't come back! Asked to talk to the manager. Manager say she will fix the order. Really? That's it? Note: we came here (and drove quite a distance, since it was on InKind App. We want to pay the bill and they said they were no longer on the app even though the app still shows them on it. Very disappointed. For this, they lose a Star. Food (4/5): It's quality bar food. Tastes a bit fresher. The steak frites were cooked well and the truffle fries were great. Stopped here for lunch with co-workers and the place was totally dead on a Wednesday. Ordered the kickin' chicken sandwich with tots and thought it was decent. Too bad they don't use thigh meat b/c the breast was kind dry. Pretty flavorful though with the bacon and cheese. Service was OK and we were able to get out of there in a reasonable time. read more

Went last Tuesday and had an interesting and unique experience. We sat, ordered and waited. The waitress brought our food and we asked for 3 sets of utensils. She of course brought them wrapped in napkins. I looked down and I did a triple take there was a set of teeth veneers leaning on my plate! Not ours, not hers. We could only assume they came in the napkins. We summoned the mgr who apologized and had our items redone. We also changed tables. Never had anything like that happen to us. Who would? Disappointed we only got the apology especially for the long wait. read more

Maybe it's very difficult to compete with bunch of alike businesses located steps away from, maybe it's difficult to be successful with so generic menu,like burgers and Caesar salad. Of course,it's hard to impress,but I should say that service was amazing, very friendly and professional servers. I ordered salmon with asparagus and roasted potatoes and it was very tasty,sauce was herb beurre blanc,delicious I should say. But asparagus was not trimmed,so half of stems were inedible. Our party enjoyed burger and fish and chips,but biggest issue was non working air conditioner with 80 degrees outside. This was very unpleasant, I think they shouldn't serve food when cooling is broken. All in all,nothing wrong with food,but with this much choices around not sure when I'll think of giving them another try. read more

It was great the first night I went. This sexy bartender was there, wears glasses, forgot her name. Amazing service and very attentive. Went another night and there was another woman who was just terrible. Anyways, food was great, drinks were great from the first bartender. Atmosphere is poppin Friday and Saturday night; however the women think they're boujie and trynna find themselves an Elon musk type of guy. Oh and good luck trying to get a drink on the DJ nights. read more

A wonderful place to get food and drinks with a group of friends! Both are so delicious, and my go-to drink is any of their sangrias! With quality food, an extensive array of signature drinks and cocktails, and live music at night, Bar Louie is the perfect place to hit up for a casual date night or a fun bar night with friends! Service is a hit or miss, but I've had more hits than misses here. If you want to avoid crowds, I recommend dining in during the day or before the dinner rush. read more

On 12/12/25, we went to Bar Louie and had a very unpleasant experience with a group of friends. I write this review in hopes that other people do not have to go through this in the future and in hopes that this bar appreciates diversity. My friend requested DJ Timo to play bachata and when he did the floor was full and lively. BTW shout out to DJ Timo for keeping the party going, it was fun, until you see the Manager Ashley approach him and tell him clearly to play another genre of music. The Dj procceded to play hip hop and no one was really dancing. We wait respectfully for a while to pass as we understand there is many different diverse groups. The second time around, we go to DJ Timo to request latin music he states that he has being given instructions by the Manager, which we later found out her name was Ashley, not to play Latin music. He was very apologetic to us and felt bad that he could not fullfill our request, I saw it on his face. I felt so disrespected! I approached the manager and addressed how her not allowing the DJ to play Latin music was "kinda racist; as honestly there was no other way to take that. She Became visibly upset and loud saying you cannot call people racist to which I said her behavior was. My friend was next to me witnessing me addressing my concerns. We ended up leaving soon after as we felt racially profiled. We are people who enjoy all types of music and fully enjoyed dancing to hip hop and all genres and we embrace diversity but the way the manager wanted to control the music and would not allow latin music to be played that night was wrong in so many levels. She also failed to address our concerns or provide a valid explanation for her behavior that night. Before leaving I respectfully asked for her name and she declined to disclose her name, she kept walking. I asked another staff member her name and the staff said: she is right there you can ask. I said, l already did and she declined to disclose it out and the Staff member released her name. Also when I notified one of the crew members what had happened that person was appalled and said wow, that's messed up. Again, my hopes for this is that others do not have to go through a similar situation in the future. When going out to a place a welcoming atmosphere to all is a must. That was not provided to my friends or I that night. read more

I came in today or later this evening I guess in a pretty bad mood because it was so hot and my dog had ran away so I need a quick drink what I thought was gonna be. A one and done turned out to be a great experience. I'm at a server name maddie who knew exactly how to turn my day around with her upbeat attitude and her witty jokes. She really turned my day around. I'm not keen on places like like this because it's known for horrible service, but maddie has definitely changed my mind. Bar Louie is an old favorite when we lived in Herndon but since moving out to MD we don't have one so we drove back for the nostalgia. We use to rush to find a table on $5 burger nights. My kids always particularly liked Bar Louie. It's pretty laid back at this spot but I don't mind the vibe. It usually throws some people off who have never been to this location but it's usually "seat yourself". I come for the burgers and got an impossible cheeseburger. Food was good. Some hiccups with service but I think the guy was newish so understandable but overall good and would return again. read more
