two plates of food on a table
    Rob B.

I had been to several great restaurants in the area during a mini getaway a while back, but on this night in particular I was looking for a great place to eat that was romantic. As we walked by we happen to notice this place and my ex-girlfriend looked inside and said it looked nice, but it was rather empty. The owner saw us and he ran out the door to greet us which was the only reason we decided to eat here. He is a very nice man and he is one of the best host/servers I have ever had. Now maybe it was because there was only two other couples there at the time, I don't know but I definitely appreciated it. He is Moroccan and my ex-girlfriend is from Portugal and speaks five languages so they enjoyed speaking about things in regards to Europe and such. We asked what he recommend for us to eat and we started out with the escargot and mushrooms with bread and garlic butter. I must say, it was amazing! So as we drank our red wine which was very bold and flavorful and I decided on the red snapper for me and the seafood paella for her. Now this is one of her favorite dishes so she was excited to try his after he bragged about how good his was. The food finally arrived and it looked pretty good but my the fish was filled with bones and wasn't very flavorful and the vegetables and baked potato were just okay. She didn't even finish 2/3 of her paella as she said the clams were overcooked as you can see in the picture and the risotto was actually burned to the skillet. I liked this place but the food could have been way better for the almost $160 with the tip I spent and especially when we were the last guests to eat and he had all the time in the world to prepare our meals with excellence to make sure we were served his best dishes. I will give them another try in the future when I am in the area with the expectation that my next meal is way better than the not so great ones we had on that night. I am going to give them three stars only because of the service and the escargot because the meals we had on that night were barely two stars

We were greeted right away and seated immediately, which was a plus. The evening crowd was light, so there was no wait at all. The food options felt endless. They had everything from crab legs (cold, boiled, and salt & pepper crabs) to a hibachi and ramen station, plus a wide variety of sushi. There's truly something for everyone. It's definitely worth the price, especially since drinks and boba tea are included--I had two and have zero regrets! I'm already looking forward to crab season when they bring the blue crabs back. Overall, this spot is a great mix of atmosphere, variety, and value. I'll definitely be back!

Now to the positive thoughts: place is clean, service is good, looove hibachi station, they cook it from the products you choose from showcase. Sushi are vey generic, but sashimi pieces looks fresh and pretty generous in size. I loved mussels, oysters didn't look appealing, Overall, for lunch it was decent selection for only 17 dollars. This is really good value. I would recommend it and would give them easy 4 stars,if not enormous sodium content. Will try next time other dishes with more neat and transparent ingredients and will update my review accordingly

We, a party of 4, all had hush puppies (brandished as a favorite by our waiter but I didn't detect anything sensational) and mushrooms. The latter were quite good and I love mushrooms so I really enjoyed myself. The gentleman next to me had Lobster Thermidor, and he raved about it. The lady across from me had roast chicken; the waiter said it was the best he had ever been served. I was allowed a bite and it was quite good though I would not have made that claim. Another gentleman across from me had risotto which came with gold leaf on it. He enjoyed it. My salmon was delicious but not sublime as I would expect from a Michelin chef. The service was very good. Our waiter had a lively personality, though not over the top, which I appreciated. He was familiar with most of the menu and did well describing the dishes. The ambience was wonderful with the fire that was the kitchen grill in plain sight warming up the atmosphere. I had a wonderful Boxcar Brown Ale from the Caboose Brewing Company in Vienna, VA.

I've eaten crab cakes all over including several famous MD crab cakes and I work at a fresh seafood market where we make our own crab cakes. So when I say I know my crab cakes.... I know my crab cakes. Talk of the mountain: this is a super cute and friendly small restaurant located on Main Street. It is very local friendly and the kind of place the staff/owners would know your name and your regular order. I LOVE that. The staff are warm and inviting. You can watch them breading your food and chat with them as you eat. I loved watching. We got the crab cake with fried oysters and shrimp plate with Mac n cheese and fries and hush puppies and another fried shrimp plate with their slaw. It was pretty pricey but we expected that when buying quality seafood. The fried shrimp were absolutely incredible as were the fried oysters (minus the pearl my son found in the one he ate... but again not too much of a surprise). The taste was great, the cook time was perfect, they were delicious! The fries were seasoned and tasty as were the hush puppies (nothing to scream about but definitely good!) the slaw was good (according to my son... I'm not a slaw person). The Mac n cheese was definitely different but not exactly mind blowing. I felt indifferent I didn't love it and feel like I needed it tomorrow, but it wasn't bad. I honestly didn't have an opinion either way on it but I did eat it. The crab cake. The good: this was literally packed with crab meat. Obviously we seek out places that Jam Pack their crab cakes with actual pieces of quality lump crab. Talk of the Mountain certainly does this.... In my opinion to the extreme. When they say zero fillers, they MEAN IT. So does zero fillers make a good crab cake? In my opinion not this way. It was not my cup of tea and I love crab and crab cakes (obviously). It seemed like their formula for the binder was a mustard based concoction and then it was solid crab. The flavor left a lot to be desired and it didn't feel like eating crab cake because there was no filler at all. Making crab cakes is such a delicate balance, a true art in my opinion and while TOTM most definitely is serious about ensuring you taste the crab in their "cakes" the end result was more of a pile of lump crab with a sauce. All that being said I would absolutely eat there again. They were fabulous and I truly applaud their style. This is just my personal perspective from the one visit. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Rating: my knee jerk is to give this a 4 because I really am not a fan of the Crabcake and would not order it again, however everything else and the people were 10 stars so I feel like a 5 star rating is deserved. If they ever modified their recipe I would try it again happily AND will def eat there again. The shrimp and oyster was phenomenal.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

A bit noisy for me to hear a conversation easily. The food was excellent. I tried the seafood jambalaya with had fish, scallops shrimp and spicy sausage with Cajun seasoning over brown rice. The fish was flaky and scallops and shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. I appreciated that the server made sure I understood that it was going to be spicy which it was but not unbearably so (I like mildly spicy to medium spicy). I loved the spinach crab dip appetizer. It was creamy and hot and delicious. The hushpuppies, of you are a hushpuppy fan were a must order. The arrived hot and very crisp coating with a moist interior. They come with a honey butter which really put them over the top. My spice got the grilled shrimp with shoestring potatoes. The shrimp were grilled perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning.
