    Happy hour deviled eggs
    Dave U.

Quality food at happy hour prices. That's why we keep coming back. Cocktails are generous pours. Chef puts together a full menu of small bites for happy hour. It's 3:30-6:30p. The bar staff is attentive and constantly checks on us. The room is dark, almost speak easy/like. You might need a flashlight to read your menu.

Beautiful restaurant space with multiple levels if you want to have a private dinner party. Just on the outskirts of downtown, perfect for a cocktail to begin or end your night. The food was fine but the infamous French Onion Soup is definitely a must. The fried oysters were okay- over battered and not hot, but flavored well. Nice wait staff but mostly there for the vibes. Looks like they have good Sunday Sunday deals I'd want to go back for

    Pineapple Upside Pancakes

We went to Lightfoot for Saturday Brunch, and it was all just okay. The portions were sizable though which was nice. For my dish, pineapple upside down pancake (a new flavor) the pancake was thick but the flavor wasn't all that special to me. I ordered for the chicken tenders to be added which costed an additional $5. Honestly without the added chicken tenders I'm not sure it would have been a very filling meal. In general, it was kinda just dry. We also had the deviled eggs and zucchini fries with feta dip. Deviled eggs were pretty standard. The zucchini fries were very floppy and would break apart when dipping it into the sauce. The feta dip really saved the dish though. I highly enjoyed that sauce. Service was okay, and the decor was interesting to look at. Seemed like a clean place. Overall, a very average restaurant.

Soooo nice at Lightfoot!! The architecture, decor, originally a bank, keeping much of the original features on display. Food amazing, staff excellent!!

Just not OK. Brought me wrong wine to begin with. I could taste that's not the one I ordered. They said we will check at the bar. Finally admitted that that was another bottle and they confused with the wine I ordered. Brought a completely different starter dish. Let us have it at no charge- fine. But the one we ordered we just uneatable - so soggy and oily ( French fried zucchini) The scallop gnocchi- salt. Nothing else. Not to mention we were sited at the table next to a molded wall.

Another wonderful family celebration at Lightfoot Restaurant. The food and service were great. We ordered off the regular menu instead of having a modified menu. The private room was very enjoyable without hearing the noise from the main dining room. The server was attentive and got all our meal, drink and dessert orders correct. This is a great option for that special birthday or anniversary event. Everything was perfect.

    Key lime pie

Came here today for an early dinner. The restaurant is beautiful especially the bar area. Ancho margarita- too sweet for my liking. I feel the balance was off with this drunk- one would expect more sour than sweet to compliment the heat of what is supposed to be a spicy drink but this leaned way too far into the sweet category. Old Fashioned - boozy. Not bad. Deviled eggs - meh...the consistency was overcooked and rubbery, and the yolk was a bit bland. Fried green tomatoes- the cheese was good as was the accompanying sauce but the tomatoes were just ok. Key lime pie - again, just ok. I've definitely had better. The accompanying cream was nice, as was the scoop of vanilla I added. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, although hearing a woman in the kitchen repeatedly yelling at my bartender, 'Why didn't you tell me you were a redneck?!' wasn't quite the mood enhancer I would've preferred. Overall, it was an enlightening first visit.

    Filet from Restaurant Week

We like Lightfoot, we go there at my Mom's request for special occasions. I've not had anything bad, just not dazzled by it. This time we went during restaurant week so we selected from that menu (sorry I forgot to take a pic). They were very short staffed and, despite our waiter Joe doing his best running around, it showed. If you weren't understanding of shirt staffed service, you would not have been happy... The hummus was good, the lobster bisque was good , with nice chunks of lobster, gazpacho was pretty good. The halibut special for restaurant week was good but not terribly flavorful. Filet was well cooked and really good. The berry desserts (off the regular menu) were supposed to have cookies but we didn't feel like the wait to get it fixed. They didn't have several of the beers on tap that were on their menu. The espresso martinis were excellent. So a good, not great meal, especially for the price. But.. Definitely better than the 3.5 stars it has.

We went here for Father's Day and it was a great experience. The restaurant itself is in a historic old bank and delightfully decorated a la art deco. The service was adequate. The food was fantastic! We each enjoyed our meals very much. They had ample vegetarian options. I got the potato soup without bacon (my brother in law and I both got the potato soup, and agreed it was the best potato soup we've ever had. I wanted to sit in the middle of the bowl and eat my way out!) and greek egg dish which were both delicious. The rest of our party also enjoyed their dishes. The pricing was reasonable though there is an 18% service charge applied to parties over 6 (?). Definitely a must eat! Will eat here again!

    Split entree of rockfish. Perfection.

I was in town visiting a friend and he suggested we dine here. Am I glad he did! I am a foodie and I approach new food adventures with a bit of skepticism. If I was only following Yelp as a guide I wouldn't have gone here with its inexplicable 3.5 star rating currently. I give this place a solid 5 star review because I throughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit from the service to the quality of the food, to the live entertainment (piano man) and stellar bar. My buddy and I both felt like having fish and steak for dinner so our terrific server told us the kitchen would be happy to split the entrees for us. They charge $5 to do it but it was well worth it. We were both able to enjoy 2 standout dishes; the rockfish and filet mignon. Both were absolutely delicious. The drinks are creative and strong. I enjoyed washing down my meal with a few of them. I have already told my friend this is the spot for me when I return next year. Looking forward to it already.

Food is always a winner here. We came for a Friday night happy hour and got some tasty bites. The crab dip was a generous portion for happy hour prices. The nachos were huge and it was vegetarian. Drink specials were 3 cocktails and house wines and a lager. All were heavy pours and we appreciated it. Service was good. Our server was the bar keep and the server. He provided great service despite being the only person working the bar area. There's public parking in the back. Use your Park Mobile app. The place is reminiscent of an old school cocktail bar. They do take reservations.

It took 10 mins for anyone to come see us. I had to get up to ask for someone to get our orders. To boot, the person who was supposed to assist us, was in the back hall by the restrooms texting and hanging out. I assume no one told her that we were there. The cider I ordered was warm, so I had to ask for a cup of ice at the bar. My husband's burger was meant to be medium well and it was raw. Lastly, it's extremely loud in that room. The chairs are metal, and when drug against the flooring, they make an awful sound! They really need a form of rubber on the legs. Very hard for grandma, who has hearing aids. Poor thing was so uncomfortable. The room next to us, with a door leading to the window to the kitchen, was so incredibly annoying. They were pounding the entire time we were seated, and it was LOUD! We all just sat completely silent. This was an incredibly disappointing visit and we will not come back.

The ambiance is beautiful as it has the historic charm, modern, and cozy atmosphere. (Amazing location as it's on the prime corner of downtown Leesburg) My friends and I ordered their Espresso Martini which comes with Tito's, espresso, coffee liqueur, Grand Marnier. Amazing martini, bold, perfectly balanced. For appetizer we got the deviled eggs, which came with candied bacon. Love the salty and sweet combination. For entree my friend and I got Shutters Eggs Benedict (poached eggs, lump crabcake, fresh English Muffin, béarnaise, with fresh fruit) and Ricotta Tartine (house baked sourdough toast, whipped ricotta, caramelized pears, spiced honey, hazelnuts). The Benedict was perfect, crab cake was flavorful and balanced perfectly with the béarnaise, and neither one overpowered the other. Ricotta Tartine was very unique and good, however, I would not recommend that as an entree and it instead should be considered an appetizer or even dessert as it was a much sweeter entree. With the Ricotta Tartine being 'sweet' , we actually ended the meal with some Mussels (white wine, shallots, garlic, crème fraîche, baguette) to finish it off on the savory profile we were looking for. Lovely spot and looking forward to trying their dinner menu.

I rate restaurants within their category and concept. I am not comparing a pasta tasting menu spot…read moreto a Michelin star fine dining restaurant. If a place executes its vision at a high level and exceeds expectations for its lane, that is a 5 star experience to me. And this meal absolutely did that. We relocated to Northern Virginia a couple of years ago, so we have been exploring the dining scene here with fresh eyes. Since moving, we have visited The Wine Kitchen several times, and each visit has been consistently impressive. They are truly a gem in Leesburg. We went with the pasta tasting menu and it was an outstanding, technique driven progression that really showcased the kitchen's command of fresh pasta and sauce work. The pasta itself was the foundation of the experience, clearly house made, with impeccable texture across every course. Each shape was cooked to a true al dente, with that ideal balance of tenderness and bite that only comes from properly handled fresh dough. Nothing felt heavy or muddled, which is no small feat in a multi course pasta progression. The mushroom tortellini in brodo was beautifully restrained. The broth had deep umami from the mushroom parmesan base, yet remained clean and structured, allowing the delicate tortellini filling and chestnut mushrooms to shine. The truffled Alfredo could have easily gone overboard, but the richness was controlled, silky, properly emulsified, and well seasoned, with the truffle supporting rather than overwhelming the dish. The lobster ravioli was another technically strong plate. The pasta was thin and tender, the filling sweet and delicate, and the crab fat sauce added depth while the ginger Calabrian soffritto brought a subtle lift of heat and brightness that kept the dish from feeling too rich. The short rib rotolo delivered deep, slow cooked savoriness, balanced nicely by the ricotta and the earthy luxury of the truffle fonduta. What really made the dish stand out for me were the crispy edges on the pasta, which added a beautiful textural contrast to the tender filling. For dessert, we enjoyed the tasting menu dessert and also added the cornflake French toast. The French toast completely wowed us. Texturally, it was outstanding, crisp exterior, custardy interior, and that nostalgic cornflake crunch elevated into something refined. It had richness, sweetness, and contrast in all the right ways, and ended up being my favorite of the two desserts. Overall, this is how you do a pasta focused tasting menu with finesse, strong technique, thoughtful balance, and flavors that feel indulgent without becoming heavy. In its category, this was a 5 star experience for me, and I would absolutely come back.
