Lamb chops

This restaurant is in the Salamander resort. Service is fantastic and Manuel our server was excellent. Definitely provided 5 star service. The food was excellent and tasty. The ambiance and view from the restaurant is peaceful and beautiful. The place is very clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is for the price the quantity is pitiful. $41 for two small lamp chops, $25 for 6 pieces of chicken wings, $19 for a mocktail. Even for a 5 star resort that is a bit too much. For me and my wife 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 soda and 1 glass of wine cost $135. The food was good but nothing spectacular or memorable for me to come back and pay that price again.

I like Gold Cup Wine Bar for what it is: a quick-ish dinner that is slightly less pricey than Harriman's for guests staying at Salamander. There are "hit's" and "misses." We really enjoyed the pecan fried shrimp and mussels, but the tempura shrimp was mushy and apple pie sundae didn't seem terribly impressive for what was described. Service was decent. We didn't enjoy the gnats that kept flying around during our dinner. We also didn't enjoy the $65 charge for Prosecco that we saw on the menu as $24. Salamander is one of the few restaurants I know that write pricing on their menu as by the ounce versus by the glass then bottle; they wrote $14/$24. I'm closing with: you get what you get

Great location obviously, not good food or drinks. Plan ahead and get a reservation at Harriman's. 1. Reservation: won't hurt, you can always walk in. 2. Big bar area, decent drinks, but not all good 3. Food: 3 stars at best For such a nice place, they could really up their quality and taste especially for the price they charge. - cheese and charcuterie board: 2 stars. meat pate thing was horrible. totally not edible with funny smell. Our waitress fully agreed, still did not change it or solve it. The usual brie and goat cheese were fine and they have this god-awful cheese. I didn't think it would be possible for me to hate cheese as I love all of them, but they found a horrible thing here. WORST CHEESE ever can be found here. - ahi poke: is okay but the thick and super hard wonton it came with was horrible. How do they think this hard thing goes well with tuna that was practically melting in mouth? We only went this far, it was so bad, we decided to have entrée elsewhere. 4. Ambience: super dark inside. But i always loved it. Bright and hot outside. Won't hurt to bring bug spray as they don't have any. All in all, eat at the other restaurant that is a few steps away and 1 tree away if you're sitting outside. World of difference in quality of food and service.

Not bad but I'd suggest maybe trying a restaurant in old town Middleburg if you're staying at the salamander! Had lunch here and it wasn't amazing but wasn't bad. Burrata was good

Excellent food, wine, and service in a beautiful yet casual setting. Pianist played in the background the evening we were there.

Salamander An extremely classy gem hidden within the Salamander Resort. In a handful of visits I've been consistently impressed by the quality of the food. They have wonderful, shareable appetizers and their entrees evidence a high level of talent in the kitchen. The red meat dishes came out perfectly cooked and they always have a selection of seafood dishes on hand. The service has been consistently good showing an attention to detail in their hiring as well as their food. But the best thing about this place is the beautiful decor and ambiance. They have beautiful indoor seating, a wonderful deck if you prefer outdoor seating, and even "formal living room" style seating options in an adjoining room which is perfect for after dinner chats with a group of friends. One of the best date night destinations in NOVA for sure. My favorite time to come is for lunch during a nice day where you can opt to take a walk after your meal. They have acres of beautiful grounds with a number of areas to sit and talk with your date or with a group of friends.

First of all, the setting: a charming little house turned restaurant, but inside it's giving modern minimalist chic -- clean lines, warm wood, soft lighting, and the kind of cozy vibe that makes you immediately relax and say, "Yes, I will have a cocktail." Speaking of cocktails... my friend and I started with two delicious drinks (Gin and tonic and French 75) that disappeared suspiciously fast. (Research purposes, obviously.) Then came the tapas parade: * Creamy burrata that was basically a love letter to cheese. * Spicy lamb ragu that had just enough kick to keep things interesting. The portion was nice too! * Perfectly cooked steak that was succulent! * And a sea bass in red curry that brought a little bold flavor moment to the table. Four plates, two drinks, zero regrets. Small space, big flavor, and the kind of spot that feels like you've discovered a secret. Middleburg, you're hiding gems!!! 10/10 would celebrate another birthday here -- even if it's not mine.

We came here first before heading to brunch and a second winery, and honestly, it set the tone for the entire day. The grounds are absolutely beautiful--peaceful, scenic, and everything you want when you're trying to escape the city for a bit. The wine selection is solid, and everything we tried was smooth, well-balanced, and easy to enjoy with friends. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, take your time, and be present. What I love most about Greenhill is the vibe--it feels elevated without being pretentious. Just good wine, great views, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. If you're planning a Middleburg wine day, start here. You won't regret it.

It would be a beautiful place to visit in warmer months, but on that chilly day, the tasting room was quite cozy with inviting wood accents and local decor surrounding the bar and tables. I especially enjoyed the artwork by a couple local artists and bought some printed art cards on the way out. Two of our group did a wine tasting while the rest of us ordered individual glasses at the bar. I didn't catch the name of the person who served us, but she was very informative and friendly. My chenin blanc was crisp and satisfying. It was later in the day on a weekday, so the place was quiet and relaxed. If we had stayed longer, I would've been interested in their mezze menu. I would love to come back and explore the vineyard more. Much appreciated their hospitality!

It was one of the best decisions we have made. The wine is superb, only to be elevated further by the incredible guide, Gunner. His knowledge of wine, the grapes, and the high praise of their wine maker really made the whole experience so much better. The low sulfites bring out the flavors of the wine and make it truly enjoyable. The white wines were nice but the reds are the ones to bring home. I must say, huge compliments to the wine maker who is trying something different and new with bold and delicate flavors. The remodeled horse stable presents a beautiful ambiance with a fireplace and windows all around to absorb the views. The main level and the upstairs area are nicely designed in a modern rustic style. The outdoor patio is perfect for the summer or fall days. We also met Elizabeth who is a treat to chat with. The food is great here as well. Amazing! Highly recommend.

The dough itself was really good and we enjoyed the thinness of the crust. It also came out piping hot. The winery itself is very pretty with a lot of outdoor seating. It ended up raining when we were there which was no issue since there's also some seating indoors.
