I stumbled upon 50 West Vineyards when looking to kill time. 50 West is super chic and cute. Keep in mind, it is a 21+ only location. I did a guided wine tasting. My person was super knowledgeable and taught me things I always questioned (ex. the difference between a vineyard, winery, and tasting room). She even showed me that not all Viogniers are the same!! The warmed cheese with honey and walnuts was delicious! This would be a super cute date spot or even a girls' adventure!

Visiting a second time and doing the wine tasting. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and you really can't beat the views of the vines and hills. It's a perfect place to relax with friends and enjoy some wonderful wine.

We went to a few wineries in the area and this was the most elevated in my opinion. The wine and food was great (loved the fresh baked focaccia). The patio was gorgeous and super comfortable, great big umbrellas for shade. I liked their prosecco best!

This place is child free and gorgeous visually, providing view of the rolling Virginia hills in a quiet setting. We came in on a Saturday and it was fairly busy but had live music going. We sat upstairs and did the wine tasting for the table, however it got busy and we ended up having to come in to get 4/6 of the wines. That was fine just wish they had just told us when we stopped in after the first time it may be easier to just do the full tasting at the bar instead of expectations of them coming out. The Chardonnay and light colored rose was nice, as well as some of their reds. They do not allow outdoor food and have some small bites you can order. Will certainly be back.

Beautiful dwelling with two floors of glass walled tasting & dining rooms! The Staff were nice and welcoming! Property is set on a higher ground overlooking the lush green landscape and which allowed a backdrop for wedding venue. During this visit on Saturday April 13, our friends Dr. Rob(chiro) and Elizabeth invited us here-they are members here(and I, at Fleetwood). As for the wines, I've only had the reds the few times I visited here and they were okay, needed more time to mature in my opinion. $50 for a bottle of cab franc or $40 if you're a member, which makes it comparable to other vineyards in the area. Almost forgot that our quarterly wine pick up in the winery i'm a member renders about the same but taste wise way better! Place serves a redeeming great brie and bread which I like so that makes it easier to enjoy the wine. Important to note that I appreciate about 50 West is the friendly easy going but great ambience also extended to man's best friend so how can it go wrong? My beautiful blue eyed Border Collie/Aussie will be joining us next time for sure that the weather is more agreeable-he has great manners so don't fret!Worth a visit! Hi

BLUF: Not bad, but there are more welcoming vineyards in the area. Went back with a group on a Saturday afternoon. This was my third visit. One thing that hasn't changed is that the staff is very controlling, and pretty focused on corralling people into where they want them to be. For example, we were told we had to leave the room we were in because they had a live band that was going to play and that band attracts a lot of "groupies" so they wanted the space. Well, there were LOTS of tables open the entire time that band played. There were other examples, but let's just say they don' t make it easy to like being there. The actual people serving the wine were wonderful, but those running the place could be a lot more accommodating considering it was a miserable cold and wet day and we brought in people who bought plenty of wine and food. The wine itself is okay. Nobody raved about it. I will say they had a blended red that is about the only red wine I've ever liked. If you're not a red wine liker/lover, ask to try it. I sadly can't recall the name, but they will know if you ask.

Sexy Boujee Winos (SBW) Our recent tour on February 9th was an absolute delight, as we were graciously hosted by two exceptional wineries Our destination was the stunning 50 West Vineyard. I was thrilled to return and show SBW the new tasting room. Katie, the owner, was a delight to collaborate with and enthusiastic about hosting us. Natalie weingardt was in charge of our guided tasting of 6 wines and was informative and very knowledgeable. Kelly Gilfillan was also eager to help and provided excellent service. The wines and service at 50 West were absolutely incredible, and the overall experience they provided was truly outstanding. The new tasting room is absolutely stunning and adds to the overall ambiance of the winery. *My favorite wines were the Viognier, AShby Gap, and the Merlot . A huge thank you is in order for 50 west for providing such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend visiting as it offers something truly special that you won't want to miss out on!

We stopped by 50 West Vineyards on our way back from a hike. The space was open with beautiful outdoor seating areas. We tried the tasting menu which reasonably priced. It was done by the bar and was guided by the sweetest staff member. After our tasting menu, we grabbed a glass of our fav wines and a small bite indoors to avoid the bugs. Food was great, the ciabatta bread and Camembert were warm and delicious. I would skip the spread next time though. We stepped outside to enjoy the wonderful views afterwards and enjoyed our time there.

This is the first visit since a couple of visits in the early days of 50 West. The Aldie/Middleburg area is beautiful so you will get great, pleasant views. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The tastings were great, and it made it easy to pick our wine for the day, the Rose of Sangiovese. Being a bit hungry, I asked for a few suggestions and ordered a few things. Every item was presented well and tasted great. I strongly recommend the summer bruschetta board.

I appreciate a winery that is adults-only. Nothing against kids (I have 4). The staff is always very friendly and attentive and they have a decent wine selection. Beautiful hillside location off Route 50 west!

Service drives the 5 stars of this review! Not all wineries are created equal, some might have good wine but don't understand customer service....50 West Vineyards has BOTH. The minute we stepped into the tasting room we were greeted with a warm welcome and this continued through out our visit. Tasting bar staff were personable and knowledgeable You can taste at the bar or take a flight, glass or bottle to a table inside or outside on their beautiful grounds. Nice variety of wines, most made in French style. Gorgeous grounds. Note: 2019 Ashby Gap was the 2022 Gold medal winner at the VA Governors Cup and the VA Governors Case Winner

If you are looking for the best vineyard in Middleburg, look no further - 50 West is the one. Great views, great customer service, and even better wine! I went with girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon and we just sat on the peaceful outdoor patio. We started off with the wine slushies - frosé and strawberry pineapple. I enjoyed the frosé the most - it was refreshing and not too sweet. Each wine I tried on the sparking flight and white flight was delicious. I'm not usually a fan of Chardonnay but theirs made me want to buy a bottle to savor the taste and enjoy from home. Tasted the Viognier and Petit Manseng, and had to get both! I heard they have live music on Friday nights and on weekends. I wish they had pizza on the menu but they do allow you to bring your own food if that's what you have a taste for. Thank you Miles for making sure we had a good experience.

My husband and I spent a delightful afternoon with friends at Greenhill Vineyards in Middleburg,…read moreand from the moment we arrived, everything was a perfect 5-star experience. First, a shoutout to our wine server, Hannah, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wines without ever making us feel like we needed a sommelier certification to enjoy them. She guided us through the $20 tasting, which included a wonderful mix of whites and reds. It worked out perfectly because I'm a white wine fan while my husband prefers reds, so naturally we shared every pour and declared ourselves a two-person tasting committee. Now let's talk about the food. The truffle popcorn should probably come with a warning label because it is highly addictive. We kept saying "just one more handful" until the bowl mysteriously emptied itself. The fresh baguette with pimento dip was equally delicious and paired beautifully with the wines. The winery offers plenty of seating options, whether you prefer lounging on the grass, relaxing indoors, or enjoying the covered patio. We chose the covered patio, which provided the perfect balance of fresh air, vineyard views, and shade. And yes, I'm actually going to mention the bathrooms. They were some of the nicest winery restrooms I've encountered--modern, spotless, stylish, and clearly well-maintained. It's one of those little details that says a lot about the overall experience. Great wine, delicious food, beautiful setting, immaculate facilities, and outstanding service from Hannah. Greenhill Vineyards has earned every one of these five stars. We'll definitely be back for another "research trip" in the near future.

We came here first before heading to brunch and a second winery, and honestly, it set the tone for the entire day. The grounds are absolutely beautiful--peaceful, scenic, and everything you want when you're trying to escape the city for a bit. The wine selection is solid, and everything we tried was smooth, well-balanced, and easy to enjoy with friends. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, take your time, and be present. What I love most about Greenhill is the vibe--it feels elevated without being pretentious. Just good wine, great views, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. If you're planning a Middleburg wine day, start here. You won't regret it.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous scenery and picturesque views. Fair warning, though, the road leading up to the winery is a bit rocky. My girlfriends and I were seated on the East Porch, and it was such a lovely setting. We took beautiful photos, enjoyed the views, and had ourselves a time! Our server was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Now, the food! The empanadas were SO good that we almost ordered a third round. We also thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie platter, which was beautifully presented. The duck prosciutto was phenomenal. We questioned whether we were just hungry or if this bread was just this tasty and we settled with the latter. We opted for the $45 wine flight, and while I'm not particularly fond of Chardonnay or reds, I happily stuck with the Sauvignon Blanc after my third glass. All in all, I was genuinely impressed with Crimson Lane. Beautiful property, delicious bites, lovely service, and an enjoyable afternoon with my girls. I can't wait to return!

We ordered two different wine tastings and crab cakes, but the crab cakes never arrived. The service was also extremely slow despite being the only 2 people at the tasting bar, with excessive wait times between pours, and our water glasses were left empty. We've visited 95-100+ Virginia wineries and sampled thousands of wines, so we understand that wine preferences are subjective. However, out of the eight wines we tried, only one was enjoyable to us. Unfortunately, between the wine selection, service, and missing food order, this was not an experience we would want to repeat. Of all our Virginia winery experiences, Crimson Lane and Muse are at the bottom of our list. We were really hoping for a better experience, especially while celebrating a special occasion, but this one will be a never again for us.

My friend had the strawberry sour cocktail, and I had one made with gin and lemon called Marc c --both were delicious. We also tried several of the ciders, which were a little sweeter than my personal preference, and the wine was just OK. That said, I have to admit we had just come from several wineries, so the wine had some tough competition! We visited at an unusual time on a weekday, which ended up being perfect because we essentially had the entire space, including the cave, to ourselves. The property is beautiful from the moment you arrive, surrounded by the vineyard, and the winery itself has a very modern, sleek, clean aesthetic. We booked the Estate Pairing, which combines their wines with different food pairings. Mark was our server and was fantastic! He explained each wine and pairing, answered our questions, and made the entire experience feel welcoming and relaxed. They were also able to accommodate dietary restrictions for my friends, which was a huge plus. Erin the general manager is great as well! Overall great service. Something I especially appreciated was the pacing. At some wine and food pairings, someone stands there while you taste everything, which can feel a little awkward when you're trying to eat. Here, they explained everything and then left us alone to actually enjoy the food, wine, and conversation at our own pace. They checked in afterward to hear what we thought and offered us the opportunity to try something else, order another glass, or purchase a bottle to take home. We also tried their Crémant, which was particularly fun because this is the first year Boxwood has produced it. Overall, this was such a relaxing and enjoyable wine experience. Beautiful property, wonderful service, thoughtfully done pairings, and plenty of time to actually enjoy yourself. I would definitely return and would recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if you're planning to visit on a weekend.
