4 1/2 stars. I took the metro from downtown Washington DC to Virgina where my uncles retired friend from over 50 years ago picked me up. It was a Monday, so she decided to bring us to one of the few wineries that were open for wine tasting. Formerly a cattle ranch, this three generation 300-acre estate is a family-owned winery. I discovered that Virgina was the first state to start producing wine since 1607. The estate is beautiful with a large wine tasting area and massive patio to enjoy with their fine wines and offer a diversified menu to dine on. Our sommelier was friendly and detailed with our tasting. I ended up purchasing a few bottles to enjoy and one gift bottle for our host. I would put Stone Tower Winery on your list of wineries to visit when you are in Leesburg VA.

Beeeeeautiful winery with a well kept & photo worthy property inside & out! There were several wines that I enjoyed here! It's pretty crowded during the summer, but even so the service is great!

I truly didn't know what to expect when coming here but I left pretty impressed. As I walked and turned more, the amoint of seating just kept going. I said wow! This was an extremely busy day. Everyone had the same idea because it was nice outside. The service was also pretty good for how busy it was. The staff was so nice!! All very knowledgeable about the wine and even let me sample some of the wine (Petit Manseng and Port) that wasn't on their menu and that I could only buy a bottle of. They had my favorite wine (Petit Manseng) but somehow I ended up loving the 2024 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve. I even ordered a glass of it after my tasting. It was light, smooth, and had a hit of guava taste to it. Very refreshing. Loved my pizza too! I was stuck between getting a pizza or their smash burger, but happy I chose the pizza. The brownie I got was pretty good too and apparently it was gluten free. The property is pet family friendly. I think the 21+ side looks the best and has better views as well.

Love this winery! One of my favorite places to hang out at when the weather is nice! Wine and our Truffle Fries came promptly to the table after we ordered. For some reason though, our pizza took forever to come out, but once we were able to flag down a waiter, it was resolved. Overall, the food is good but on the pricier end as expected. There are many picture perfect locations around the property, and all the staff is extremely friendly!

Ambiance: beautiful property. There are 2 separate tasting rooms, one is for adults only. Seating can be found inside or outside. They had 3 cute ski gondolas you can reserve. Super cute!! Service: great service. There are QR code that you can order drinks and food. Food: Pizza was great! Wine were delicious as well.

My first time in over a year and this winery and it was better than I remembered! It was definitely a nicer weekend so I was expecting them to be busy which they were- but they were also very efficient. They have two buildings and pretty ample indoor and outdoor space. I actually love their harvest barn that has indoor tables and the tasting bars but was not overpacked. The wine here is really good- I'm partial to the sparking wines but also enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and the reserve Chardonnay. The person who conducted my tasting was so nice and she adjusted to my white, rose and sparkling preference so easily. I really appreciated the conversation and background of the wine. Also had some snacks (chicken tenders and fries) that were a good compliment to the wine!

Came here on a Sunday with a group of coworkers - the day was partly cloudy (photos attached) - and it was just beautiful and perfect!! The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of photo opportunities all around the property - the food/drinks, the landscape, the barn/gazebos/decor... plenty to see and it is very well maintained. The wine and food was also wonderful! As a gluten free person- they were incredibly knowledgeable and even had gluten free pizza which was delicious. Highly recommend that you come here my gluten free peeps! Service was great. I truly have no complaints and can't wait to return!

Such a relaxing environment with comfortable seating. Cushions can be cleaned. The staff was really friendly and checked in a few times to give us a heads-up about last call, which was actually appreciated. We ordered the margarita pizza, sausage & pepperoni, and truffle fries--everything tasted fresh and homemade. We had a wine that we loved--fresh, crisp, and semi-sweet--but totally forgot the name. (If you're curious, just show them the picture of the bottle below and they'll know what you're talking about.) Bonus: they give you complimentary wine glasses to take home! Parking can get tight, especially on weekends, but there's usually a good amount available. Definitely a spot I'd return to.

One of our favorite wineries - best views, wine, and pizza in the DMV. Our favorite bottle is the Wild Boar Sanglier Noble. The grapes are shipped from California so it doesn't have the "Virginia skunk" taste many vineyards have in the area. We always pair it with a wood-fire pizza. We have made it a goal to try every single one on the menu with our favorites being the pepperoni and the hogback. Service is always fast and friendly. The place gets busy so come early!

Service: Very warm and welcoming. I took my parents to the winery, it was their first time and had a zillion questions. Staff were patient in explaining the details. Ambiance: the Views, and views in every direction. Scenic and peaceful. Perfect place for photo shoots Food: we had truffle fries, gelato, pizza and chicken tenders. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend. They have ample parking too!

Came for my friend's bridal shower and it really is a great spot for big groups! The food was solid and the wine was, of course, great. Service was alright; they weren't the friendliest and we had some issues with some of our orders (one order wasn't properly sent in and there was a while where no one checked up on us). I think it'd be a great wedding venue, though, and judging from the other reviews it seems service is usually better (to clarify, it wasn't bad, just not the most inviting vibe when we went).

Gorgeous outdoor area, shaded and plenty of room

Incredible views, expansive outdoor and upstairs dining areas easily accommodate the crowds on the weekends when the weather is nice. The wine is actually great as well! The Nebbiolo is our go to, but have also enjoyed the other varieties sampled. It's an entire experience whenever we visit and appreciate the family / dog friendly atmosphere. Food is ordered in a separate "barn" and you get a buzzer to pick up when ready.

Ask the Community - Stone Tower Winery

    Are dogs permitted?

Yes, dogs are permitted at Harvest Barn (Gate #1) both inside and out.

Do they have a good selection of sweet wine?

They don't have any... No good winery would have a "selection" of sweet wine, rather a select few might have a dessert wine.

    Do they have live music?

Hopefully not... It's loud enough from the crowds!

    Where's the food menu?

Here! Their food is great. https://www.stonetowerwinery.com/tower-view-menu

The layout of the outdoor space also meant the kids couple play without disrupting other patrons, which is important to me. The wine and beer were both above average and the servers were very knowledgeable on their products. We came back today for the first time in years, and wow - we were blown away. We did a wine flight, and each one we tried was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and delicious. My husband also tried their beer and was impressed. The sandwiches are generous in the servings of meat, and the bread was fresh and the perfect texture. On top of the delicious food and beverages, the location is beautiful. The only negative is that there were young children everywhere, but at least the shrieks they emitted were happy. Can't wait to come back again soon!

First, a shoutout to our wine server, Hannah, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wines without ever making us feel like we needed a sommelier certification to enjoy them. She guided us through the $20 tasting, which included a wonderful mix of whites and reds. It worked out perfectly because I'm a white wine fan while my husband prefers reds, so naturally we shared every pour and declared ourselves a two-person tasting committee. Now let's talk about the food. The truffle popcorn should probably come with a warning label because it is highly addictive. We kept saying "just one more handful" until the bowl mysteriously emptied itself. The fresh baguette with pimento dip was equally delicious and paired beautifully with the wines. The winery offers plenty of seating options, whether you prefer lounging on the grass, relaxing indoors, or enjoying the covered patio. We chose the covered patio, which provided the perfect balance of fresh air, vineyard views, and shade. And yes, I'm actually going to mention the bathrooms. They were some of the nicest winery restrooms I've encountered--modern, spotless, stylish, and clearly well-maintained. It's one of those little details that says a lot about the overall experience. Great wine, delicious food, beautiful setting, immaculate facilities, and outstanding service from Hannah. Greenhill Vineyards has earned every one of these five stars. We'll definitely be back for another "research trip" in the near future.

We came here first before heading to brunch and a second winery, and honestly, it set the tone for the entire day. The grounds are absolutely beautiful--peaceful, scenic, and everything you want when you're trying to escape the city for a bit. The wine selection is solid, and everything we tried was smooth, well-balanced, and easy to enjoy with friends. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, take your time, and be present. What I love most about Greenhill is the vibe--it feels elevated without being pretentious. Just good wine, great views, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. If you're planning a Middleburg wine day, start here. You won't regret it.
