It took us a while but we finally discovered that there was a Texas Roadhouse in Ashburn. We had been to one in Mesa, AZ, a couple of times, so we were familiar with their setup. We were here on a Saturday for an early dinner, which turned out to be a good idea, as we were immediately greeted and seated at a two-top, which was just enough room for us. We were given some rolls. Each table has a metal bucket that has a bag of peanuts in it. Our server, Lily, came along in a timely fashion. She, like the hostess, asked if we had ever been to a Texas Roadhouse. We told her "yes," but not this one. After looking at the menu, we were ready to order. I ordered the 6 oz. Dallas filet, medium rare. It comes with two sides. I chose green beans and a baked potato. To drink, I had a sweet iced tea. My husband ordered the 8 oz. Dallas filet, medium rare. For his two sides, he chose green beans and a cup of chili. He had a Coors Light to drink. It took a while for our food to come out. When it did come, we both noticed the steaks were cooked to perfection -- tender and juicy. My husband thought the steaks were better than Outback's (they were also less expensive). The green beans were good, as they had some pieces of meat in them. My baked potato was well made. While we were eating, the manager stopped by to give us a coupon for a free appetizer. He even suggested we try their ribs next time. As dinnertime approached, the place got noisier and more crowded. We weren't surprised and expected it. We both agreed we would return. We recommend that management begin using hand-held POS terminals that can print receipts; this would speed up table turnover and payment processing. read more

How is it I can inhale a whole Chicken Fried Chicken with a large pour of white gravy? Well, after I finally had my oral surgery, the first thing I wanted was some substance! The chicken was super moist and the breading was so lightly tossed, it nearly melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were a perfect mix with my chicken. Service was very good. Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite go-to places and honestly, they get you before you even order. They start you off with warm, buttered weapons of destruction they call buns, served with that fresh, soft cinnamon butter. Don't come here counting calories. Just embrace the scale and reward those taste buds. We started with the potato skins without bacon. They were loaded with hot, gooey cheese and completely sinful. Definitely not the night to make good decisions. I always order the house salad because I love the chopped hard-boiled eggs. It's such a simple touch, but it makes the salad stand out. I ordered a custom-cut 20 oz. ribeye and my husband had the 12 oz. filet with a side of chili. We both ordered medium rare and both steaks came out cooked to perfection. Nice sear, juicy pink center, tender and packed with flavor. The mango iced tea was another surprise. It actually tasted like real fruit instead of syrup. I had three glasses, so that should tell you everything. Even though the place was packed, service never skipped a beat. Then, just when we thought we were done, the general manager stopped by our table to thank us for coming and asked how everything was. Well bless his heart. You don't see that very often anymore, and it says a lot about the culture they're building. Love, love, love this place. I'll gladly keep making room for those rolls. read more

Well a new bar staff bumps up my overall review of this location. The bar staff were very efficient and attentive. Eaters were passed out along with our requested cocktails. We are regular customers at this Texas Roadhouse and normally come every Wednesday around 6-7 PM. We enjoy the food and usually have a very good experience, but I wanted to mention something from our most recent visit. We were a party of four, but two members of our party arrived before us. Both gentlemen are around 80 years old. They were told they could not be seated until the entire party arrived, so they were left standing and waiting while I was running a little late. I understand that the restaurant may have a policy about not seating incomplete parties. However, I believe there should be some common sense and consideration when applying a policy like this, especially when you have two elderly gentlemen standing and waiting and there are tables available. What made it more frustrating is that we have been coming here regularly, and in the past one of these same gentlemen has arrived early, explained that the rest of his party was coming, and was seated without a problem. This is why I especially want to recognize **Tomas Burks and Maddy**. As soon as Tomas became aware of what was happening, he handled the situation immediately. He and Maddy listened to us, understood our concern, found us a table, and made sure the two gentlemen could sit down. They did not argue with us or make the situation worse--they simply took care of it. That is what good management and good customer service look like. Later, Tomas came to our table to check on us and apologize for what had happened. Unfortunately, they had also run out of prime rib, which was what we wanted, and management came back again to apologize and make sure we were okay. The food we did have was delicious, and once we were seated, the rest of the experience was very good. My criticism is really about the way the seating policy is being handled at the front. Policies are understandable, but employees should also be trained to use good judgment and treat customers with courtesy and respect. Making two 80-year-old gentlemen stand and wait when seating is available doesn't create a welcoming experience, especially for regular customers. Thank you to **Tomas Burks and Maddy** for recognizing the situation, treating us respectfully, and turning an upsetting beginning into a good experience. Mid-afternoon on a Saturday, we decided to try this location again. It was a mistake. The host seated us as far from the front door as is possible; even with me viably walking with a cane. No staff came to our table for about 15 minutes. The food was delivered in about another 30 minutes. The food was as we had ordered, tasted good and was still hot. There was no visible manager on duty. But, there were many wait staff just standing around and talking with each other. The host was eating food at the host station when we departed. Went here last night for dinner and was surprised at how packed it gets on a Friday night. The food was good. I do wish the bacon cheese burger had more toppings or a fun aioli or sauce on it but it was good. The rolls and fried onion are always a highlight. I do wish it wasn't as warm inside. My husband's special request of no seasonings was treated with respect. He loved his steak. I loved my huge, top-shelf on-the-rocks margarita. Owner/manager (& charming) Tom stopped by our table as he made the table rounds. We were so pleased with the meals - especially the steaks, we ordered take-out on Monday 4/6 after a stressful day. I always love me some Texas Roadhouse but I feel like this last visit was a one off. We got there an hour after they opened so maybe that is why the food quality wasn't how I normally enjoy it. The service was fairly quick and good as normal. The ambiance here is casual. It's a bar so they have tons of TVs and drink options. They changed their early dine hours so it's M-T until 5:30 pm. The bread basket wasn't hot it was cold, I was very dissatisfied. I ordered the 8 oz sirloin and it was dry and not super flavorful. I usually get my steak as a medium, but it still wasn't juicy. My bf got some Texas combo with a 6oz steak and ribs. He said the ribs were extremely dry but the flavor was good. Overall, I normally come and enjoy the food so I think it was an off day. read more

The birthday boy decided he wanted prime rib from Texas Roadhouse. So, we carried out food for dinner. Two of our family members ordered the prime rib. I have to say it was tender and tasty. The portion size was huge. I thought their horseradish cream sauce was the perfect compliment to the prime rib. They have soft, doughy, dinner rolls and they send home a honey butter, that just rolls off your tongue. The baked potatoes were hot, well cooked, and large. They provided butter and sour cream to go. Yum! A couple of missteps were: they forgot our salads. Unfortunately, they called when my son was home already. Also, I ordered the grilled shrimp and it was ice cold by the time it got home. That is why I gave them 4 stars. I would probably order prime rib next time. My son really enjoyed his birthday dinner. I don't know why they don't have a higher rating - this place is the best! Where else can you get a full steak dinner for under $25 with quick, friendly service? We were weekly regulars while living in the area and we moved to the Fredericksburg area and the TRH there doesn't even come close to this Ashburn location. A quick trip up north had us back here tonight and it did not disappoint. Thomas(manager) stopped by to chat - gave us a quick rundown on how they cook and season their steaks and why they're so good. By the fact that there is always a line or short wait for a table, that should tell you that this is the place for a great meal. Don't believe any of the less than stellar reviews. I don't know why people sleep on Texas Roadhouse. Yes it may not serve dry aged cuts of beef and have truffle steak fries but for an under $30 you can get a decent steak with two sides and a drink. The staff at this location were accommodating and attentive. The menus were clean and not sticky and the tables were wiped clean as well with no stains or crumbs on the floor. The location is close to Leesburg where the outlets are. read more

The T-bone steak I had here was massive and delicious. It had that nice smoky char from the grill and was seasoned just enough to let the meat speak for itself. Sides were okay, I had roasted veggies and a baked potato, nothing special but did the job. Staff was welcoming and even offered to cut and re-cook it if it wasn't to my liking, which I appreciated. Overall, say my experience at the Texas roadhouse was great, using online queue to join for a table is a great addition and beats going there and waiting for the extra time. I would definitely not recommend going on a busy holiday as it's busy obviously, but even through that the service was pretty good! The food also came out pretty well. I quite enjoyed my sirloin steak and mashed potatoes. The only grape that I have is that my mashed potatoes was a little bit cold because of how long it took to get to the table. read more

I got the ribeye and requested it medium temp. When it came out it was rare, I sent it back and eventually it came back out in another 10 mins. The second time it came out it was completely well done. I told the waitress and she agreed, they ended up making a third steak but unfortunately I had to take it to go. Upon opening it up it was also well done. I find it very weird that my steak was cooked incorrectly three times in a row while everyone else at my table ended up having their steak cooked as requested. They did comp my meal however after waiting for an hour and never getting any of the steak cooked right I was outright disappointed. read more

Let me just say that Texas Roadhouse Ashburn is by far the best restaurant I've been to in a long time. I was greeted at the front door by the host and they sat me right away and offered hot bread before seating me. What's even better about this place is when I got my food, the manager came up and asked if I needed anything which I kindly declined because I was all set. That's true leadership there, she even asks other people if they needed anything and she did the requests right away. She deserves 5/5 stars after doing such a great job. The food came out and it smelled so good, I got the grilled BBQ chicken with shrimp and it tasted so delicious. The chefs in the kitchen did a fantastic job. The house salad and string beans were amazing as well. The restaurant itself has such a nice welcoming atmosphere and I love all the neon lights on the walls and even the ceiling looks great because the ceiling has a different look in some areas of the restaurant. I feel like I'm in the state of Texas. Overall the associates did a fantastic job and I'm happy to give Texas Roadhouse Ashburn the best grade I've ever given. The restaurant gets 10/5 stars the highest grade in the history of the world. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I will return and I hope other people visit too. read more

Visited recently when we were at the outlets shopping nearby and wanted a good meal! We went on a Saturday around lunch time. We started with their fried onion (not pictured because it was too good to take pictures) as an appetizer. This was amazing and reminded me of Outback Steakhouse's. The sauce it came with on the side was also great. I then got a Caesar salad as another appetizer which was great. For entrees, I ordered the NY strip with Shrimp and broccoli + green beans. I usually opt for the sirloin but changed it up this time and it was a great update. The NY strip was tender and cooked perfectly medium. The shrimp was also great as usual; I love the garlic herb sauce used. My dad ordered a ribeye with a side of ribs and mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent here but everytime he's ordered this, the ribs have been on the side as to not get BBQ sauce on the steak. This was a little disappointing for my dad because he is picky about bbq sauce. Overall, service was quick and we got a lot of bread and boxes to take stuff home as the portion sizes were huge for the price. Definitely recommend! read more

I've heard some people raving about how good Texas Roadhouse is, so I had to come and finally got a chance to give it a try. Service is absolutely phenomenal, from being greeted at the front desk when you enter, to the server taking care of you during your meal. The vibe was pretty cool walking in, you get a showcase of their cut of steaks. Once you get to the table you can either grab one of the physical menu to look at, or on a tablet they have. They placed down a basket of their roll, and wow, absolutely delicious with their honey cinnamon butter. The roll was so soft and fluffy. We started off with the Cactus Bloom, Cajun sauce for dipping. Perfectly cooked and plenty of it to share! Between my sister and I, we were unable to even make a dent in it. It came with a Cajun sauce for dipping. Definitely enough share for 4-5 people as a starter. We for the Caesar salad to share, it was good, nothing that stood out to me. Wish the dressing had more of a kick to it. Definitely more mild of a Caesar dressing than I'd like. We got the 16oz Forth Worth Ribeye, it came out and my sister and I was so excited to try it. The temperature was cooked perfectly to medrare. The only problem is, even though it was cooked to medrare, the consistency of the steak was actually quite tough. It definitely did not have that juicy bite of a steak, I can only think that it must be the quality of the steak itself. Was definitely disappointed. We actually also added in the Fall off the bone ribs with our steak. I was very excited, then my sister and I took a bit and it was extremely dry. I started picking at it and realized, one half of the ribs was cooked perfectly, and the other half, completely overcooked and dry. Our server was way more than accommodating, when I bought it to his attention, he immediate apologize, took it away and took it off our bill. We usually go to the Chantilly location and will continue to go to the Chantilly location after trying the Ashburn location. It wasn't terrible, but the food and service is subpar in comparison to the Chantilly location. We got 2 ribeye steaks (medium rare), both came with two sides. One of the ribeyes look like pork, it was so white-looking. And the other steak was more like rare than medium rare. One of the sides we ordered was a chili and it was so watery, almost like a soup instead of a chili. We also ordered 2 prime ribs, both also came with 2 sides and the meat was a bright pink and dry, looked unappetizing. The server came by to get our order and gave us bread and didn't really check in on us after that. Our appetizer plates weren't taken away so when the entrees came out there was limited space for the dishes on the table. Their bread and honey butter was very yummy - that is the lasting impression. read more

Went there for Mother's Day and I ordered a cheeseburger. What I got to eat was very good but then I bit into something hard, when I finally was able to fish it out of my mouth, it was a hard black thing which I was told what they put in to measure the temperature to make sure it's cooked correctly. We gave it to our waitress who was very apologetic. She came back and told me they were making me another. The rest of my party was eating their dinner while I just sat there. The waitress came back a few times to let me know they were making another one. By the time it was finished the other five in my party finished eating. I did get to bring a fresh sandwich home with me but that's not the point. We went there for Mother's Day and my dinner was a mess. It was my daughter, two grandsons my husband and my son in law. Before the waitress brought my dinner she asked if I wanted it boxed to take home since everyone was finished. We weren't offered anything and I'm not sure what your policy is but at this point I'm pretty disappointed with this situation. read more

Out of Prine Rib at 8pm. Do better. All I wanted was Prime Rib. This place is a sinking ship.

I was just here today and honestly the experience was less than good. On the plus sides of things we were seated quickly and the food was tasty. But that's basically where this good side of the story ends. It was a little busy people coming in an out, and we waited a good 5 minutes might have been closer to 10 before our server even came by to greet us. At this point we decided to order our food and drink based on the rocky start of this visit. Well, I got a salad with my meal, and the salad came a good 5 minutes before our drinks even came and it wasn't even as if we were ordering some complicated drink from the bar. It was iced tea! Not sure if he needed to harvest the leaves or what. I see him look in our direction from across the restaurant and I think he could tell I had a cross look on my face, as he runs back towards the kitchen area and voila our iced teas arrive! He was apologetic so I did appreciate that he apparently got caught up in running food. Ok great, glad we're not a priority as far as a table that would have given you a decent tip if service was better. What appeared to be the manager did his rounds but honestly at the point towards the end of our meal, I could tell that he was checking a box and really didn't care about us so I didn't bother to let him know that the service left a lot to be desired, especially when I saw tables around us being well tended to by their waiters/waitresses. I might give them another chance in the future, but if the other chance goes as poorly as this visit, I'll go to another texas roadhouse. There's plenty of other good choices of places to eat where I can spend money where service is actually service. read more

They cut the steaks but the size of what you order is horribly inconsistent. If they do not have qualified kitchen staff they should at least purchase products scales. The quality of the meat is also inconsistent. Tonight's experience was an embarrassment. read more
