We stumbled upon this place, and we're so glad we did! The staff was very friendly in explaining what they do: cheesecake samples! For only $7 (what a deal!), you get three cheesecake tastings (and they have A LOT of flavors to choose from). Not only that, but you get complimentary tea and some pineapple bites. So much for such a great price! And the cheesecake is delicious, of course! And the ambiance is really nice, especially during the holidays. I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews. This place is in a run down house with no ac. The cheesecake was warm and filled with artificial flavors that didn't impress. The room was so hot it was hard to enjoy anything. The server left us for 20 minutes and there was no one in sight. We had to get up to find someone to pay so we could get out of the overly stuffy and hot room and that's coming from two people who live in Florida. Not sure if it was an off night or what but I would never recommend this place to my family or friends. read more

Our experience was so incredibly exceptional that I don't know where to start! From the moment we walked up to this unassuming, beautiful and quaint restaurant we were welcomed with immense hospitality. We met several of the owners and each one was friendly, helpful and kind. They provide their guests with complimentary hot or iced tea as well as fresh pineapple upon your arrival. They said pineapple is an international sign of hospitality hence the abundant pineapple decor. We only had an appetizer and two of their cheesecakes and every bite was overwhelmingly delicious!!! The cheesecakes are small, round individual portions beautifully presented. They're French style cheesecake so they're light and not heavy like a typical New York style cheesecake. When I tell you this restaurant is a MUST TRY..I mean it with everything in me!!! They even serve flights of cheesecake with an expansive selection as well as wine and many other menu options. My girlfriend and I made a trip down to St. Augustine for yesterday, and after walking around the downtown historic district, felt we were craving to end the night with something sweet! After reviewing desert spots in the area, we settled on trying the Bar Harbor Cheesecake Company! Going in, the place was quite small, but very cute. We waited a couple minutes to be seated, but the wait was well worth it, as the interior had a wonderful dining at home vibe to it! In addition, the servers were all very friendly, and we had the chance to speak with 2/19 original owners who were awesome too. That night, we ordered 3 flights of cheesecakes (each flight is a $5 plate of 3 flavored cheesecakes). Note: they have 50 flavors, so good luck trying all of them all In one night. We decided on the following: chocolate chunk, almond bliss, orange cranberry, georgia peaches, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, key lime pie, blackberry wine, and a chocolate mocha flavor! Going into this review, the cheesecakes were very good! Unlike most cheesecakes I've tasted, these tasted very whipped, and there was a clear distinguishable taste between each of the flavors. Pumpkin pie had reminiscent of pumpkin spice, the cranberry orange had a tart yet bright sweet orange flavor, the mocha was just a subtle taste of chocolate but had a nice fragant taste of mocha with cocoa beans, the Georgia peach (our FAVORITE) was like oranges and cream yet with fresh chunks of peach (sooo good), and etc.! Our least favorites were the key lime pie and blackberry wine as they were a little too tart for our liking, but again this is subjective to the taster I feel. Zero stars if possible. Talk about a place that does not put their customer first! Upon arrival we were told we needed a reservation (which they don't offer on their website mind you.) We didn't have one but she "checked" and said they could have a table in 10 minutes. We would need to pay a $9 per person minimum to enter. Ok, that was fine as we intended to have cheesecake. We wait 10 minutes in the winter cold on their porch to "wait" for our table only to enter a completely empty and cold restaurant. Okay. They offer us hot tea, great. Ten minutes later they return with hot water. Okay. We order and 30 minutes later my husband arrives outside and is told he can't enter and join our table of 6 (with 5 of the seats taken) without paying $9. He is not eating cheesecake just waiting for us to be finished. They state every seat is $9 and they may need that seat. They are completely empty. He is forced to wait outside in the cold no exceptions unless he pays. He now has no desire to spend money in a place that has a cover charge to sit in their restaurant and are so rude. Informing them that I'm a local and won't be back they had no sympathy at all. Only one customer had come in the hour that we had been waiting for our cheesecake mind you. When it arrived it was a "flight" of one bite per flavor we ate in 3 minutes. Some good, some very artificial. The management and policies here make no sense. The way they treat customers is as if they are all tourists they will never see again. Well, successfully they won't see us again. We went here after going to the Potter's Wax Museum which was just a hop away. We got seated immediately and our server was super friendly. They have a TON of flavors and our waiter was able to answer our questions easily. Hubby ordered a glass of wine but they really only have dessert wines which make sense. As we were waiting for our Flights, our waiter brought us a plate of freshly cut pineapple just because which was so incredibly nice!! We got the Flights and they had thrown a 4th flavor on there just because as well!!! The portions were just perfect! If you are worried that the sizes being too small - don't. When you combine them together it's pretty much the same or even a little bit more than an actual slice of cheesecake. Okay so the break down the flavors: Hubby - Glazed Doughnut, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Monster Cookie Wifey - Cookies n' Cream, Dark Chocolate Orange Truffle, Strawberry 4th surprise flavor was Eggnog for both of us If you look at the pics we obviously couldn't wait before we dug in! We loved all of them!! We had a hard time picking our favorites but hubby was between the Doughnut and the Macadamia Nut and I was between the Cookies n' Cream and the Strawberry. The Eggnog was also yummy and a great surprise. Now on to the best and most surprising part - the price. Out total was less than $20!! The flights are $5 for 3 and the wine was $7. It was the cheapest food we had the entire time and we were happy and full when we left. So food was AMAZING, menu options were great, price was super cheap and the service was impeccable!! We are always looking for hidden gems and we found one. We walked in right before closing which we hated to do yet the staff was just amazing. Taryn and Keith are just amazing , they checked on us and had great conversation with us the entire time. You can really see the passion and love for their food. The cheese cake flights are the way to go. We loved this place so much that we visited it again the next day before heading home. Every thing we had was delicious and we tried 17 flavors between the two visits, oh and the wine flights are also very tasty. I would give this place ZERO starts if I could! Never in my entire life have I experienced a CULT like business. We had reservations for 2 midweek, 3pm. We show up and there is a man sitting on the porch just staring, and a woman behind a counter. When we told her we had a reservation she first tried to sell us tiny cheesecakes from a mini fridge on the porch. When we declined, she gets on an ear piece to tell someone inside we are there. Then makes us pay $9 per person for the reservation which will be credited towards the bill inside. Okaaaaay. Sounds like some sort of tax fraud to me. She goes on and on about their rules of no pets, the dress code, no drunken behavior. When she can clearly see we are appropriate, and have no pets. We are told sternly we are not allowed to "go beyond the door". We wait at least 10 minutes on this porch, finally the only staff person in the building opens the door and lets us in. The rooms are EMPTY and they had to act like secret service agents to finally seat us??? We were seated next to the only 2 people in there. It is hot and stuffy, and they leave within 5 minutes after we arrived. They wouldn't allow my friend to order a side of cheddar bay biscuits even though it's on the menu because he was ordering a "sweet" cheesecake and not a "savory" cheesecake. Considering we were the ONLY people there, you'd think they'd want to make some money. The server/hostess disappeared for long amounts of time, leaving us feeling like we were being watched. By her, the old porch guy peering in the window, the earpiece cheesecake peddler on the porch. Cheese cake flight was literally a bite of different flavors. 1/4 was good, the others very artificial flavors. It was so weird and we felt like we were being watched in an experiment or kidnapping plot, that in conversation to each other we made it known that my husband would turn into Liam Neeson and John Wick over me so we weren't the ones to try anything with. Unless you're into cult like seriously strange behavior, stay away from this place. I've never left somewhere feeling like I was on drugs, that's how weird it is! After much consideration due to the high price tag ($14 and $16) for a very small pie, we decided to buy two cheesecakes to take home, we settled for pistachio and banana cream pie.Well, when we opened the banana cheesecake was a coconut cream pie, which not only we did not ordered but we didn't like. The coconut taste is very strong and fake, they added way too much extract and overpowered the delicate texture of the cheesecake, the pistachio taste nothing like pistachio, I am not saying that it was bad, but if I am buying a pistachio cheesecake I don't want a green cheesecake with a few crushed pistachios that taste just like any other regular soft cheesecake. We had the opportunity to stop in and enjoy this special spot in St. Augustine. We are visiting from out of town and my child's classmate recommended this place. It was perfect for a teenager. It would be a good idea to make a reservation but our wait was only 10 minutes while the table was prepared. As it was a Tuesday night, Christopher was also our waiter. He and we were the only people in the house...at least for a while. By the time we were finishing up the after dinner crowd arrived for their desserts. Christopher made each group feel special and welcomed. BHCC offers flights of cheesecake. You can choose 3 flavors, and get sample sized slices for five dollars. Yes, $5bucks will get you basically the amount of a single slice of delicious cheesecake. Well maybe not that big national franchise's sized slice, but a respectable amount nonetheless. Three in our party meant 3 flights, so we got Nine different flavors of cheesecake. All of which tasted AmaZing! A couple of the chocolate ones had the non-baked cheesecake texture (not as firm as a baked one), the flavor was Devine. We also ordered 2 flights of their fruity wines. We typically use a fruity wine to make sangria, and since these are a local vineyard we decided to give them a try. They did not disappoint. I feel the need to post a complaint . We have previously gone to Bar Harbor cheesecake and enjoyed the ambiance, the staff and the cheesecake was amazing. As a result, I recommend it every chance I get. My boss asked me for ideas to celebrate his daughter's birthday and I recommended this place. If I had known that he would have been given a hard time and treated so rudely by the hostess, I would not have suggested it. They walked up and asked about the wait as I did warn them that it was a small place and turn around could be slow but to them say they would have to pay $9 to hold a table for them was shocking. So they discussed getting it to go as they were doing a boat ride and weren't sure they would have enough time to wait and when the wife went in, she screamed that she needed to get back here because she was not allowed to walk in. So her husband goes to get her, and the hostess begins to berate the daughter/birthday girl for him going after her. Not only did this make me not want to recommend this place because of this experience, it really makes this place look bad....really bad. I think you should reevaluate your policies and get rid of that hostess. The previous guy was very nice and even while waiting, he was very nice. But the great experience appears to be a thing of the past. I will not recommend them if this is the way they are now doing business. read more

First off, the environment is lovely. It's a mixture of romance, cozy and home-like. The cheesecakes are absolutely delicious. The flights allow you to try as many cheesecakes without filling up on a single flavor. The flavors really depend on your own taste but what I can say is that based on the same or similar flavors to others, these are the best. I was introduced to the Ocean Blue Raspberry cheesecake which replaced my old favorite. I'm out of luck since I won't find this flavor anywhere around home. Highly recommended. read more

We had two cheesecake flights, small samples of three cheesecakes for $5 (a lot of fun per dollar). The cheesecakes were good, though I don't think completely thawed. My favorite was the Georgia Peach, probably followed by plain cheesecake (New York cheesecake on their menu). The Bananas Foster cheesecake had a really good flavor too but was marred by banana chips in my opinion. My companion liked the Key Lime cheesecake the best, but Key Lime has never been a favorite of mine. They also have wine and wine flights, chocolates (out of them this day), charcuterie, and a few other things. I'd like to come again to try more things here. read more

Not a great experience! We walked in the door and we waited and we waited.... No one was at hostess stand, the guy finally came to the front after I called the restaurant from my phone. He came out obviously chewing food. There was only one table that had customers sitting at it. We had a party of 6 and we were told that they were "full"! So, we walked around the back of the establishment to get a to go cheesecake. Weird set up! We were handed a menu with about 6 or 8 types of cheesecake with probably 20 to 30 other options marked out with black marker. Despite our better judgment we order a key lime cheesecake! To be honest I have had better from a grocery store bakery. I wanted to try the inside and brought a friend. We were sat on the inside.....and then we sat....for no less than 20 minutes. No one came to take our drink order or cheesecake. The table next to us were offered truffles and they paid and left. We sat for another 10 minutes before leaving. A flight of 3 flavors for $7, we usually do 6 flavors for $14 each and spend about $28-30 but it's so worth it as a sweet ending to date night. They have SOO many flavors to choose from, my personal favorite is the dark chocolate orange truffle and my husband loves the cannoli and red velvet!
