Food was excellent, but the service? Can't say the same. Went for my birthday dinner with 7 other friends. When I made the reservation over the phone, the hostess asked if it was a birthday reservation and said she would make a note. Without me even asking, she stated that they do a free dessert as a birthday perk. This was so exciting! When we got there, the waiter was unfriendly and not attentive. One friend inquired about one of the spritzes on the menu, asking if it was on the sweeter side. He said no, so she ordered the drink. The drink was objectively very sweet, so she was disappointed, but it wasn't a huge deal. After we all ate, the waiter came around asking if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We awkwardly brought up that we're here for a birthday (he didn't care whatsoever) and asked if it was true that they do a dessert perk. He said no, but "if you order something I can put a candle in it". I even more awkwardly then cited the phone call from 2 days prior. He took the dessert menu and came back with a tiramisu later completely stone-faced and silent. I'd like to think that we were a very calm, well-behaved, not high maintenance crew-- his demeanor totally killed the vibes of the night :( read more

Came here with a rezzie a few weekends ago. The good: -they accommodated our reservation to be later after calling -the little toasts are really good (the white bean one is awesome) -hated my drink @ first (the coffee one?) but they quickly swapped it out for something I liked (the gin one). -super nice servers, good seats, large space (can we have our wedding here??) and overall a great addition to Brookline/Boston after that horrible beer garden was there (waxy's) for way too long. will be back!! ~Tamara read more

Had the best time at bar cino. Everything was fresh and delish and unique. Our server was so sweet and nice and professional. The ambiance is great as well. We were also shocked when we got the check, it was less then we expected. Will definitely be going back when we're in the area again. read more

Interesting, creative menu that was well executed. We shared some of the sharing platters--crispy cauliflower and roast carrots with feta. I loved my farro salad with pulled chicken added. Hubby had farro risotto. Our friend had mushroom tagliatelle. For dessert, the pistachio ricotta cake was awesome our friend enjoyed salted caramel ice cream. All of the food was wonderful. We'll definitely eat here again. We're glad the restaurant has outdoor seating. Heaters would help. Service was spotty, like at most restaurants these days. The manager was very helpful and took our order while we were waiting for our waiter. read more

The calamari was awesome. I enjoyed the mixture of squid and fish, which was a surprise in each of the bites. Both pasta were good. I especially like the pesto one, it had a nice balance of everything. read more

Ordered via grubhub, the driver was horribly rude. Just a horrible experience. Will never order again.

From the beginning to end, this place is a delight! Great food, great staff, a great restaurant. The atmosphere is delightful, the food was perfect, and the service was incredible. Thank you Lexi, all the managers, and waitstaff for making our brunch in Boston fantastic!!! read more

Went last night for dinner and was very impressed. Very delicious cocktails to start (Shadilay and the Downeast Negroni). The food exceeded our expectations! My favorite was the Tuscan kale salad. The mushroom pizza was delicious and super thin crust which I love. My boyfriend really enjoyed the tagliatelle pasta dish with pesto, mushrooms and asparagus. We will be back very soon! read more

We sat outside yesterday for brunch and everything about our experience was amazing. Promptly seated and served. The yogurt with ricotta and fruits were delicious and a nice balance on the palate of sweet and savory. The topping of crushed almond halves gave the meal a nice texture. The waffle was light and sweet crunchy on the outside and topped with a chilled whip with blueberries. A delightful treat. In addition the sausage breakfast sandwich with eggs and peppers and onions as cooked to perfection and delicious! Red sangria and mimosas tasted great and not too overpowering at all. Prices were totally fair about 13/15 per item. Sitting outside on a sunny day on beacon made for a great experience in addition to the food, drink, service, and ambiance. The food at Bar 'Cino is exceptional! One of the best restaurants on the planet! Incredible menu, drinks, quality, value, service, atmosphere. It has everything for a great time. read more

4.5 stars on Yelp? These reviews continually surprise me and prove that Bostonians don't know how to eat. I came here with a friend on a Friday evening to order two cocktails, seared salmon, tagliatelle pasta, and tuna sharing plate. We were underwhelmed (and that's putting it lightly). The salmon was overcooked, dry, and came in such a small portion. The pasta was also dry, barely had any taste, and it was something I could have made at home. Cocktails were good but definitely light on the alcohol. It gets two stars for the dining environment and ambiance. read more

Had a really nice experience at Bar Cino today. The food was delish, everyone in my party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed their food. The restaurant was very accomodating and attentive. Someone in my party has a nut allergy and the kitchen and wait staff really paid attention and sent their dessert over with a little allergen flag. I was really impressed! Our server was, Jackie. She was outstanding! read more

Very accommodating host Andrew. Thank you. The food is good as well as the service. We came back the next day. Great crowd.

I would describe this restaurant with one word that being exceptional. The mood and environment were great as the restaurant is in an excellent area, and the inside decor fits very well in an adult setting. The server was courteous and fast, and most importantly, the food was incredible. My brother and I ordered the rigatoni bolognese, shrimp risotto, tiramisu, and calamari. They cooked the bolognese al dente which I like; the tiramisu melts in your mouth, and the calamari was crisp. It is definitely worth the price and would be a great place to eat on special occasions. read more

Went for dinner with a friend this Saturday night. Hostesses are unbelievably rude here. Food and drinks are good though. Pizza and calamari were delicious read more

We had a great meal at prime time on Saturday Night. Reservations through open table were a breeze and we were sat at our table right away. Service was attentive and friendly, shoutout to Noel who was great! All of the dishes were reasonably priced, we honestly expected the items to be $3-$5 more each based on the way some other restaurants in the area up charge. Everything was cooked well and we enjoyed an appetizer, glass of wine, and entrees for under $100. We didn't get dessert, but people all around us were ordering the tiramisu. Can't wait for their patio to open in the Spring! read more

Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere and decor. Pizza was cooked to perfection. After 6:30ish a reservation is practically mandatory, every table was booked two days in a row before I decided to get a reservation. Totally worth it read more

I have been watching the construction on Bar 'Cino for a while, so I was excited to give it a try when it finally opened. Our server was kind and attentive. My boyfriend ordered a mojito, which tasted as though there was no rum in it whatsoever. I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon which was fine. The food was alright, but lacked any real flavor. Ambience is okay, but we requested a table and were seated at a high-top that had a very bright spotlight shining on the seats. read more

I am going to keep this review short as I think this one will speak for itself. I went to Bar 'Cino on a date night. The wait time was a little long but I was hungry and excited to try a this new place. I am going to say it was worth the wait. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the menu was creative and different and the food was really good! I forget, off the top of my head, what I had but I know that there was one or two items I would not usually order. I have to say I was really surprised that I enjoy these items as I usually do not enjoy things like salad as I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy. The drinks were were refilled in a timely fashion despite being a very crowded location. Overall, I have to say that this place is off to a great start! Just to back up for a moment, let me talk about the margarita pizza, amazing! I usually don't order margarita pizza because I don't like tomato chunks on my pizza. It's a texture issue. I would order it again any day of the week and twice on Sunday! As for the rest of the menu, it's as I said It is very creative. The only downside besides trying to determine which of this wonderful food to have is that it is also a little limited for people with some dietary restrictions or picky eaters. I am guessing since they seem to make everything fresh you can probably make alterations so that you can enjoy most of their items. I'll let you decide if you want to go here or not but, as for me this is a new favorite! I am going to recommend it to all my friends and family. read more

Tried this place with my girlfriends and was not disappointed! Highlight of the evening was our server, Tatiana. She was phenomenal! We had a number of small plates, a bottle (or two) of wine, and two pizzas! I'm looking forward to going back to try some of their main courses. Bottom line: atmosphere was awesome, food was good, and Tatiana was INCREDIBLE--ask for Tatiana. read more

The first time I came to this place it was quite good. Me and my wife got a braised short rib over risotto which was amazing as well as a pizza which was solid. I came this time for a friend's birthday party hoping to get the same braised short rib risotto dish but unfortunately it is no longer on the menu. I decided to get a carbonara pasta with pancetta which is generally a safe choice but it was terrible. Seemed to be topped with bacon bits and frozen peas, and the sauce tasted as if they just melted a ton of the powdered parmesan cheese you can buy at the grocery store (AKA the whole dish tasted like a salty mac and cheese). If this was the only meal I had here I would've given the place one star, however that first meal was really good. Bring back the braised short rib risotto! read more

The utensils was definitely a miss. But the food was a hit. I had the Carbonara and was not disappointed. -1 star for no utensils.

First time at Bar Cino, ordered take out (due to covid). I was pretty excited when I saw this was opening up because they have a great menu and the Newport one has good reviews (though I've never been). We ordered the prosciutto flat, it was great - highly recommend. The only thing I wished was that we had it there and served warmer (downside of take out). We also got the tri colore salad and a side of brussels. Both were kind of small portions, especially for the price tag ($19 for both total). The salad was tasty though, great vinaigrette and the cannellini beans were a nice touch. The brussels, meh, kind of disappointed (see pic attached). Overall would recommend. I'm excited to go back and sit down. I'd like to try the pasta next time. read more

We had a great meal at Bar 'Cino. Went with my family and all of our meals were perfect. We had a pizza as the appetizer and that was the perfect starter. The entrees came out in a timely manner and pasta via a variety of dishes was cooked to perfection! The staff was excellent the waitress was personal, efficient. One humorous example is my folk went flying off the table due to wife digging into my food...I had a new folk in less then a minute. We ended the meal by splitting two deserts and they were a perfect ending to a great meal. A great combination of delicious decadence! This place was so good that we went back 3 times with the span of a 5 days!! We will be back and it is great to see this establishment bouncing back from COVID! read more

Really enjoyed my first experience at Bar 'Cino! This spot has been four different establishments since I've lived in the area, and this is the first that I feel like has real potential to thrive. My friend and I sat at the bar, which is huge with lots of space to snag a drink and bite after work without the formality of a table. We got a bottle of red wine that was fabulous and started with the meatballs appetizer (unreal!) and the fig and prosciutto bruschetta which was also very good. I got the tagliatelle dish with pesto and mushrooms and my friend got the shrimp risotto dish with snap peas. I'd recommend either! Love the atmosphere, and the service was great with our server providing thoughtful recommendations along the way. Great addition to the area and looking forward to my next visit. read more
