I came here for dinner with a group of friends and was expecting the food, service, and atmosphere to be very good because it's always crowded. I ordered the bruschetta and scallop pasta. It was OK and the crowd is very Brookline (iykyk). The atmosphere was vibrant and lively though. I would come back for a drink at the bar and maybe an appetizer. read more

Ordered delivery and unfortunately the pasta I received was bland and swimming in oil. Would have given it one star but the pistachio cake was pretty decent. read more

Bar 'Cino Brookline - Oil still pooled at the bottom after soaking a lot of it out with bread. - Italian Near Me - Brookline, Massachusetts

I ate at Bar 'Cino in Brookline yesterday. I really enjoyed the mushroom Tagliatelle. It was simple but extremely flavorful with the variety of mushrooms and their individual flavors and textures and it seemed like the pasta was homemade--not sure, but it was cooked to perfection, al dente. We had the clams as a starter-they were just ok...I wouldn't recommend them, but overall I thought the restaurant was lovely and the service was excellent. We had the sorbet and Limoncello cake for dessert--both were wonderful. I will be back! thanks! New to Boston and I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. read more

Pros: Great patio Good food Tasty drinks Good atmosphere Cons: Rude host Lackluster service Loved the food and drinks and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the patio. It felt private and quiet for being on a busy street. Everything we ate was delicious and the food and beverages came out quickly. The selection of cocktails and mocktails were great as well. There were quite a few things I wanted to try! The service was overall fine- efficient and fast but not the friendliest. What put me off this place was my interaction at the host stand. The host made a comment about me not confirming my reservation which I apologized for but then "joked" that they couldn't seat us. It was the tone and the delivery of this that made it not funny. I understand needing people to confirm but maybe text like other restaurants so you can confirm if you can't pick up calls during the day? The rest of the experience did not make up for this and I will not be back or recommend this place to others based on this. Good food but better restaurants close by with superior customer service skills. Based on other reviews it seems like rude hostesses is standard here and they don't care. Spend your money elsewhere! read more

Love this spot! Have been a few times now since moving to the neighborhood. I love their spritzes and other cocktails, and everything I've tried on the menu is great. The calamari and any of the pizzas are a must. The pizzas are very cool because you cut them yourself with a pair of scissors! Highly recommend for a nice place for dinner & drinks. The brunch menu was not my favorite. read more

Very nice outdoor seating, good service. The pizza was fantastic! Also recommended the farro salad.

Great place! Trendy and fresh without being stuffy. Pizza is delicious! Outside area is cool. Overall great vibe and meet-up spot. Good service. Can be busy so you need reservations most weekend nights. read more

Our experience at Bar 'Cino was incredibly subpar. Not only did we have a reservation and request to sit outside and there was an open table of 6, they refused to sit us outside. Mind you, this was also not prime dinner hours. Additionally, the table of 6 remained open for the entirety of our dining experience. The hostess staff was rude and unfriendly. As the face of the restaurant, they set the expectation of the experience for the customer. I would suggest engaging in more friendly behavior. The waiter was fine. Not very friendly, and also did not ask how our food was or fill our water without asking. We basically had to ask him to clear our plates. Service took forever but food came out quickly. So the issue was not with the kitchen just a server who forgot about us, expect maybe that the food was meh. I would definitely not return. As consumers have limited discretionary income, I would be thankful for those patrons who come and spend hard earned money. read more

A fantastic upgrade for this space from a previous 'mediocre' Irish pub, Bar 'Cino delivers on all three levels: Food, Service, and Atmosphere. The flatbread pizza with the ever unique scissors to cut it in the old style fashion is crisp, flavorful and filling. The Bruschetta crostini's are delightful and fun! The meatballs are memorable, and the beer/wine and cocktails are great. The 360* bar is fun and provides an excellent vibe in the modern art-deco looking space. I can't wait for the patio to open to provide yet another element to this awesome place. Messias, our bartender/server was extraordinary with his passion, excitement and knowledge, providing us with a fun and memorable evening. We will definitely be back to visit soon. This is a great addition to the Brookline community and I know it'll take off without a hitch. read more

We were visiting our daughter to see her perform in a production at BU and she made reservations at Bar'Cino. (Reservations highly recommended at this popular spot). We had my 85 year old dad with us and were initially seated at a high top table. Sammie the manager/owner immediately saw the situation and reseated us at a lovely table. The service was beyond outstanding and the food divine! We had a kale and romaine Caesar salad that was yummy. The lemon flavor made the whole salad pop. I wish my husband and I hadn't split the salad it was that good! We had a piadina, fennel sausage pizza, and tagliatelle pasta. All were outstanding. The pizza crust was so good I will dream about it until I can have it again. For dessert Sammie treated us to a pistachio ricotta cake. Oh my goodness so incredible. This is a must do restaurant when in Boston. Service, drinks and food are all just out of this world! read more

Lots of variety on their menu. Food always delicious. Great service. Nice patio!! Neighborhood gem!!

Service and food were excellent! Parking is a hassle as normal for Newport . Some outdoor seating is available

Love this place in our neighborhood. Fabulous drinks that change frequently. The bolognese is absolutely delectable, and all the pasta dishes are sizeable. The only missable choice is the pizza - no sauce, mostly dough. And the gelato is a bomb ending to a great dinner! read more

Amazing cocktails, tasty small plates and such great ambience. Best espresso martinis! Definitely coming back!

Charming outdoor dining set up, small, thoughtfully-curated menu, and great food. Portions aren't huge so it's perfect for getting a few plates to share. read more

The place itself is pretty. Nice interior decorating. Slow service. Can't blame them though since most restaurants are short staffed. My main complaint was that my sandwich was sitting in a pool of oil! There must have been 3 tablespoons of oil sitting on my plate when I picked my sandwich up. I can only imagine how much more was sitting in the food. Pretty nasty. I got the salad with the oven roasted sandwich (which the waitress even recommended). My salad was on the same plate and got drenched with the oil. read more

Would not recommend this place. Very poor service. Our food took over an hour and when I asked the waitress to check on the order she was completely unapologetic. She hadn't even checked in with us that entire time. And when the food came out one of the orders was wrong and we had to send it back. Again not a single apology. The waitress ruined our whole experience with her poor attitude. We will not be returning which is unfortunate because the food was actually good. read more

Amazing food and even better drinks! Definitely was a fan of the pool boy and spritz and giggles. Super cute atmosphere as well, I would come back! read more

the risotto was unseasoned and over priced for the portion, the pizzas were undercooked pretty consistently (I heard the same complaint across multiple tables), and the service was extremely slow. The ambience is nice but it may be more of a appetizer and cocktail place. read more

Tried the pizza which was fun coming with scissors so you can actually cut it yourself. They have a great outdoor dining space for COVID, and the service and drinks were good. Overall nothing super memorable, but generally a good option for dinner in the area. read more

Just left Bar Cino. The food and service were excellent. It's a fun atmosphere and the waitstaff were attentive and knowledgeable. It's an excellent addition to the Watertown restaurant scene. We will definitely return again soon. read more

Great food in a city without a ton of really good options. Love their pasta and gluten free options. Great short ribs, excellent desserts

The only great thing about our stay in Brookline was this fabulous restaurant! Where do I start, a Saturday night no reservation but the manager said he had a table we could have we just needed to be out in a hour. No problem. We Started with the CRISPY CAULIFLOWER, the sauces the flavors the crispy crunch 5*. Next was the Grilled Pizza, PROSCIUTTO,FIG, ARUGULA, FONTINA, GORGONZOLA it had me at the scissors it came with. So you could cut your own slice any size you want. Everything about this place was fabulous read more

After stomping around Boston at a Bernie2020 rally we needed a drink and a bite. Perfect place for both right at St. Mary's T stop on the C. Great service, excellent beer selection, friendly atmosphere and lovely small plates and sides. Just what we needed and right where we needed it! We'll be back read more

Food = salty. Ordered takeout and got the rigatoni bolognese, tomato bruschetta, and fig prosciutto pizza... the rigatoni was very salty, tomato/bruschetta didnt have enough flavor, and fig pizza was greasy...i had better expectations. read more

I made a reservation here to celebrate my best friend's acceptance into a PhD program. We've been here three other times and have enjoyed it, but this time left a bad taste in our mouths. We were seated, waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come over, and ordered a delicious meal. The food was delicious and our waitress was nice. As we were finishing our drinks, the hostess approached us and told us that she needed the table... While there were vacant tables that were previously occupied near us. We left and realized we had only been there for an hour. Overall, it seems that Bar Cino is more interested in turning tables quickly rather than your experience. Additionally, if you make a reservation, it doesn't matter. They will still ask you to leave within the hour. Disappointing. Probably will not go back. read more

Stopped by BarCino in Brookline this weekend for dinner and it was great! Great outdoor seating space with a wall separating diners from the sidewalk, and each table has its own heat lamp. We sat inside and tables were nicely spread apart and the place had a great atmosphere! Definitely make reservations as the place was packed when we got there at 6pm and continued to be even as we left around 7:45pm. They have super fun signature cocktails, we tried the Chinato Sour (my favorite), house Sangria and the Jungle Bird. Drinks were great, but certainly on the pricey side. We got the braised meatballs as a shared plate... they were fantastic! But for $12 you only get three small meatballs. For meals our table got the cacio e pepe without clams, farro salad, and two grilled pizzas (margarita and prosciutto and fig)... these came with shears to cut which was a lot of fun! All entrees were great and the staff was very kind. Biggest con was just the prices... the food was good but the ratio of food to price was a bit high. A great spot if you're in the area! And nice for the summer, we went through the neighborhood and into Fenway as a post dinner walk. read more

Heard good reviews of this place, decided to try it out. There was a really long wait, which was understandable for such a great place! I don't have a single complaint. The drinks and food were amazing! Our waiter was SO FRIENDLY!! I can't wait to come back here and try more food. Get the first bruschetta on the list, and get the Bolognese rigatoni!!!!! read more

I want to say first of all I am a chef. To give you some perspective on this scathing review. I have been in the restaurant business for 28 years. I ordered potato chips, spaghetti, Bolognese, and fennel sausage pizza for my family. The spaghetti was canned clams with some olive oil and a miniscule amount of parmesan. It cost 18$ dollars for 1$ worth of ingredients. We all want to make money and thrive but this is shameless. And I wonder how many patrons you have duped into paying this ridiculous mark ups. The $22 Bolognese was even more laughable. The sauce was comparable to Prego. It contained about 2 oz of run of the mill ground meat, which is a puny quantity for the price they are charging, and it wasn't even cooked properly, for example sauteed and caramelized to bring out the flavor of the meat to make a robust sauce, but rather tasted like it was boiled. And for this price I would definitely expect more than Barilla grocery store quality pasta. On a positive note, the sausage pizza was delicious. However, for 19$ you get a small flat bread with a dollop of fresh ricotta and little bit of crumbled sausage on each slice. Once again stingy on meat and other grossly inexpensive ingredients making me feel cheated again. read more

Casual atmosphere, clean bathrooms, food was good, food came out to us very fast which was nice. Many wines to choose from, Served bread and oil to start. For starters we got brussel sprouts salad and the meatballs. Main dish we shared was the rigotoni bolognese which hit the spot. tiramisu was excellent. They brought a 2nd round of bread as well which is always nice. Not the "best spot ever" but it delivers. read more

This review is written during the COVID 19 pandemic. Restaurants are now allowed to open patio seating only. Despite this, the service and ambience was great. My 3 friends and I had the bruschetta to share and then proceeded to have an entree each. The pastas were delicious! The Bolognese pasta and the braised shortrib (served on top of a risotto) were very tasty. Several vegetarian options available. Had a great time and will be back again. read more

Neighborhood cool chic vibe. Really great food. Excellent service - fun to watch the smooth team work. Bring plenty of money.

Good comfort food, casual ambiance , friendly service. This place is your perfect neighborhood place for a casual gathering .

This place was awesome! From the breakfast pizza, to the bloody Marys, everything was delicious. What really made our experience great was the service. I didn't love one of the items we ordered & the bartender was super friendly and helpful the entire time. Would totally recommend this cute little spot! read more

Great food and service! Went there a week ago and will def go back! Next time will try getting. Seat outside at the terrace.

We're willing to accommodate us without a reservation even though the restaurant was busy. Great food and service.

Pastas were very good. Ample portions. Here's a hint... kids portions are adult sized. Save some money!

Fantastic food and drink choices in a chic modern decor restaurant. Great place to meet friends in Boston.

Great food and great vibes. Both indoors and outdoors are beautiful, and the pasta is very good. Our favorites are the fritto misto (the lemon aioli is so good), the bolognese, and cacio e pepe. You should def go :) read more

Mushroom bruschetta and oven roasted chicken sandwich were both delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff.
