Never ceases to amaze me how much higher Bostonians rate their restaurants. Here's a checklist to ask yourself whether a restaurant deserves a 4 or 5 star rating: - Host makes sure your table is ready for your reservation and doesn't have you wait 10-15 minutes - Waiter makes sure you're never out of water - When you ask the waitress to serve you all the best dishes, you're not left unimpressed - Vermin sightings are kept at a minimum Did this restaurant meet the above criteria? Absolutely not. Food was nothing to write home about, and neither was the service. Mouse sightings were not welcome as well. Was food edible? Yes. Tasty? Meh. One star for the prosciutto fig flatbread, and another for decent cocktails. read more

Omg how have I not written this review yet?? We went here to kick off Boston restaurant week. It was the best choice ever. We don't really venture too far out on the green line but this spot was worth it! First of all... sangria on tap. That's all I have to say about that. Amazing. The food was just so good I feel like the pictures speak for themselves. All delicious. I didn't get a pic of the tiramisu but take my word for it. All amazing! Looks like we have to venture west a little more often read more

We had reservations for a beautiful dinner outside for 645 on June 17,22, Friday. We got a call 20 minutes in advance saying there was a problem with the kitchen and they were canceling. We were driving over already and would have appreciated more of a heads up. Be aware they are currently having some problems and there are plenty of other places to go nearby! read more

Came here for dinner on a weekend and it was pretty poppin'. The server was attentive & friendly. Food came out fast so everyone got their food around the same time. I ordered the paccheri, somewhat small portion. It was good but it wasn't stellar. There was nothing special about it, not sure it was worth the price. read more

I want to sincerely say a BIG THANK YOU to the staff at Bar 'Cino. We went to Bar 'Cino on a Sunday with our 15 month old. As we ordered food, our toddler was fussy and a little loud. However we sat at the far end of the restaurant which was away from the booths. While we waited on our food, one of the other customers(at a booth) started screaming at us about how our toddler's squeals was "ruining" his dinner. This customer along with his lady companion complained about us. Not to create a scene, we left the place asking for our food to go. The staff was really kind to us. Not only did they side with us but made us really comfortable and also mentioned how sorry they were also sorry that we were not treated well (all this in front of the other customer). The other customer had ordered a bottle of wine etc and possibly had a higher tab, but the staff was professional and looked after us well. I would definitely recommend this place to others and go back here. In a day and age of profits over people, this was an experience that we will remember. Thank you to the hostess and staff at Bar 'Cino. From the standpoint of food, we ordered the wild mushroom Omlet, the lunghi and meatball from the kids menu. Both taste great! read more

Came for brunch and writing this review to rave about the breakfast pizza. The whole experience was wonderful (great service, nice and cool and well lit inside, yummy cocktails, not too expensive), but the pizza totally exceeded expectations. The crust was perfectly charred and very thing, and it has a phenomenal flavor. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the breakfast pizza I think especially because I was a little skeptical of having eggs on pizza but suffice it to say that I am sold! I need to come back and try the normal pizzas as well as to have the breakfast pizza again. read more

This is a restaurant that pays attention to every detail. Staff is welcoming, efficient and polite, food is very good, the scene is fun even for we older people. His could easily be my favorite "go to" restaurant. Sandy Fleishman read more

Amazing food with some of the best outdoor seating in Brookline! The food is light, flavorful and achieves authentic Italian cuisine . The prosciutto bruschetta is unparalleled and is a can't miss and their flat breads are delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly. Hostess gave us a table for 2, but there was 3 of us! I ask if we could sit outside and she gave us a table in the sun where we didn't want to be. So we went in side and she gave us another tiny table! I asked if we could have an empty table that i spotted, she says you have to leave by three. I didn't think that was very hospitable, so i left! read more

Really enjoyed this place-- had a delicious pizza, good Caesar salad and nice Small Things American pale ale, a new favorite. Very good service. Nice atmosphere. read more

Went on a whim with a group of friends. Nice individual breads greeted us, and oil was on the table, but no flavor/mix/herbs to accentuate the bread. Waiter was polite and never felt like he was getting in the way as he refilled water. Meals came out pretty quickly. Portions for most were small. Pizza was large for one person but 4 of the other 5 people started talking about needing to get a snack before heading home as they knew they would be hungry later. Not amazing food, but good. It wasn't busy on a Thursday night, not sure if the usually are or not. I'd go back when in town again. read more

I'm surprised by the recent negative reviews..but I absolutely love Bar Cino. I moved here from NYC 6 months ago and I've probably been here about 6 or 7 times - that should say enough. I've found everyone here to be incredibly welcoming and friendly and they've been knowledgable about the menu whenever I've had questions. For food: I've had the tagliatelle multiple times and have tried the kale salad and roasted carrots - everything has been absolutely delicious. My friend is gluten free and they've been able to accommodate all dishes for her and they are scrumptious. I wish I could come here every day but my wallet would cry. I can't wait to come back. PS - drinks are amazing. read more

Fun and trendy vibe but the food is okay. For better pizza go to Otto or Stoked nearby.

The food and drinks here are incredible. Haven't had a bad meal/cocktail. The arugula salad with salmon was amazing as well as the cocktail with mezcal. The pistachio cake mixed with the hot buttered amaro is divine. Love the abstract artwork on the walls as well as the open bar. The server/bartender we had were friendly and helpful, definitely will be back :) read more

Love this place! Been here a few times already. Cocktails are alright but I gotta say the sangria was pretty good. Service is spot on. Food is creative and different and the restaurant is welcoming. Fun ambiance and tasty food.

We really love this place. Before covid, it was a great place to hang out with friends with a cool bar area, friendly wait staff and great drinks. After covid, it became a solid place that offered outdoor dining with heat lamps and great quality food. We usually liked to come at around 3 after hiking, which provided some nice social distancing. Our favorites here are the pastas (they seem to change, but we really loved the lamb rigatoni we had) and the pistachio cake (they always seemed to run out of their cakes whenever we went later; probably because they're really good). I'm less of a fan of their pizza, which I shared with a friend pre-covid, but maybe it's just a preference; felt like they didn't have a lot of sauce/toppings. Nonetheless, this should not deter you from supporting this great restaurant! read more

Extremely disappointed by the service and the food. From what looked like an amazing spot for our anniversary online, it was completely false advertised by Instagram influencers. The staff could not look more miserable if they tried and no one came over to our table for 15 minutes. Every time we tried to politely ask for something we felt ignored because they would never respond back to us. I was looking forward the most to the Caesar salad, but it was nothing like it was pictured online. I ordered the chicken pesto pizza and it came out uncut with what looked like sharp gardening sheers. I tried to find our waitress for a while, but was unable to and asked another employee who appeared to be a manager. He basically told me you should have asked for the pizza to be cut... then took the pizza and had the kitchen cut it. I'm not trying to be irrational, but shouldn't a pizza be cut? No one told me it would not be cut. In addition, those sheers they gave us are spring loaded and look like they could seriously harm a child if they were handled improperly. Also the pizza was so paper thin with wet kale on it, so it did not even taste good. Meanwhile, all the staff were looking at us with unpleasant looks the entire dinner. My boyfriend and I go out to eat a decent amount. We also have worked as servers so we know it can be chaotic sometimes, but that was the worst dining experience of my life. read more

Ordered takeout during Dine Out Boston since I've been meaning to try this place. I got the braised meatballs in pomodoro sauce, paparadelle with duck ragout, and lemon budino. The meatballs were very flavorful and came with so much sauce, I decided to save them and eat them with ravioli later. Makes a whole other meal! :) The duck ragout was alright. It was a very big portion, much more than one meal. The downside is that it was not nearly as saucy as I'd hoped, more on the dry side. This dish was the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The duck was well-flavored, but if I were to order again, I'd probably get the grilled salmon or rigatoni bolognese as my second course instead. The dessert was good. Tasted like a key lime pie, and was a surprisingly larger portion than I expected for a dessert. read more

Anti pasta app was nice. Pastas were very excellent outside of the north end. first time in the neighborhood, parking could be a challenge. Parking in Fenway and walking over is an option. Their food was very delicious, and we loved the ambiance. We sat outside on the patio and got right in on our reservation. The outside had benches and tables, and along with a big inside sitting area and a big bar as well. We ordered the bruschetta and crispy cauliflower to start, then also ordered a margherita pizza and fusilli with pesto. Food had great flavor and the pizza was incredible, which was also fun as they serve the pizza with scissors! Drinks were also delicious and mixed drinks had trendy combinations that were creative. Overall, will definitely be back here, and will recommend to friends! read more

My friend told me today how fabulous their take out dinner was last night. They'd been to the restaurant pre-covid. We decided to order from here this evening, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the baked clams. The sauce had a wonderful depth of flavor and the clams were all plump and very tasty. We had the bruschetta with white beans, the kale ceaser salad-ooh the dressing! And, the chicken piccata, came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. All fabulous is right! If I hadn't made cookies earlier in the day, we'd have ordered dessert! Looking forward to it being warm enough to dine outside! read more

I was very disappointed because I have been here before and the food is great but I made a reservation for my birthday on the patio and it rained so they just cancelled my reservation. They did not try to accommodate us at all and the hostess was not friendly when I called to see if there was anything they could do to help. I have never been to or worked at a restaurant where they just cancel your reservation due to their poor planning. In every restaurant I have worked in we have saved tables for outdoor reservations in anticipation of bad weather. Now I cannot go out to dinner because nowhere else has any reservations on such short notice. Very disappointing experience especially since this used to be one of my favorite places. read more

This might be my new favorite restaurant! Came in for the 1st time with my friend to celebrate her birthday & graduation and it did not disappoint. The sangria was delish! A very nice date spot. The ambiance is low light and moody at night, with small booths lit by mini lamps. Not too long of a wait and great service. Surprised there aren't more raving reviews. Great place for drinks and small plates. I went with a local IPA paired with the meatballs and the Bruschetta... perfect combo! Disappointing Mother's Day dinner! We had reservations outside on a beautiful day, but host rudely insisted we didn't and sat us inside. We later confirmed with our email we did indeed book outside. Most of the food was good although one entree for one of the celebrated mother was twenty minutes later than the other entrees so children were finished eating and restless. The waitress half-heartedly apologized. Also, the kid's entrees were overly complicated and rejected by all three children. We couldn't order dessert because we were so tired of sitting there towards the end. Food and drink were good but customer service was poor. The restaurant wasn't busy and it was unclear why the night felt so challenging for the host and kitchen. Too bad!! read more

I can't speak to the decor as I had food picked up and delivered. I placed the order harboring my normal sit down restaurant delivery fears of cold food recklessly packaged that would have been good there but didn't work out as delivery. I was almost shaking my head as I pressed "confirm". What I received proved that all my fears were unfounded! Both entrees were still hot, thoughtfully packaged and delicious!!! Chicken Picatta was sent a still hot but with the sauce on the side so the skin would stay crispy and it did! The tagliatelle wIth mushrooms, pesto and asparagus was awesome- still hot and the noodles didn't overcook in transport. Tri color salad and Caesar salad both great as well. Portions were just right. Our Friday night dinner was a real success thanks to this place. Very happy indeed. Well done Bar Cino, well done. read more

This is one of our favorite spots in the area, and the best outdoor eating (great food and the heat lamps actually work!)! Everyone we've brought here has loved it and wants to come back. A few months ago I would have given a five star review but the last few times I have ordered were subpar. At their price point I am not happy with the slips. The last few dishes that came with their "evoo mashed potatoes" clearly had polenta stirred into them. I am not sure if they do this to stretch the mashed potatoes or because someone thinks it is a good idea. It is not. They are inedible with an off-putting taste, color and texture. Further the seasoning on their poultry and salmon has also slipped. Finally, I ordered the crispy cauliflower before and liked it but it was not crispy enough for me. Tonight I tried it again and it was quite crispy and they got all my other order notes... but it arrived without the dipping sauce it came with previously. I believe it was a lemon aioli. Anyway, the crispy cauliflower desperately needs a co-pilot so it was overall disappointing again read more
