My only complaint is that I really wanted one of their specials, the Smoked Turkey Salad Sandwich, but they were sold out. I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to the smoked Gouda, but I can't hold the fact that it was really popular against them. Instead I settled on the Golden Goddess Grilled Chicken Wrap and the Jalapeno Corn Chowder as a starter. I think the chowder was missing a little something flavor wise (not sure what), but it had a nice kick to it and I was satisfied with it overall. Loved the cornbread on the side. The sandwich was great and the crispy potato skin fries were hot, fresh and delicious. The rest of my family inhaled the smoked chicken wings with the Jalapeno Mango glaze as a starter. They must have been good as I barely got a taste. For a main course my other half had the Sliced Steak Sandwich and my kids chose the Sideshow Burger (with a side salad) and the Spicy Shrimp Orecchiette (pasta) special. My son wasn't crazy about the special sauce on the burger, but otherwise everyone was happy. Two of us had enough left overs for our lunch the next day. I was really happy with the size of the starters as they were a great addition to the meal, but not overly filling where you couldn't eat your main entree. The inside of the restaurant was smaller than I expected, but it had a pleasant atmosphere. I was happy about the fact that although they had TVs playing the World Cup in the background the TVs didn't overwhelm the space. We did notice the employees had to bring new supplies/food in through the front door to take to the kitchen repeatedly while we were there. They don't appear to have access directly into the kitchen from outside, which is a little odd. A limitation in the design I suppose. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. Overall, the food and drinks were good, and the restaurant itself was clean with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, what should have been a pleasant lunch ended on a very disappointing note. When it came time to pay, our group split the check. Together, we left an 18% tip for our server, which we felt was fair for the service we received. As we were leaving, the server stopped us near the entrance--in front of other guests--and asked if something had been wrong because she didn't understand why we had left such a "poor tip." It was an uncomfortable and embarrassing interaction. We politely explained that the total tip was 18% and even walked through the math with her so she could see how we had calculated it. Instead of simply accepting the explanation, she told us that if we wanted, she could call the manager because they "don't welcome people who don't tip well." At that point, I responded that the comment was extremely rude and that we would not be returning. We haven't been back since. It actually took me quite a while to write this review. On another occasion, I mentioned this experience to the bartender at a nearby bar after she had recommended The Parish to me. She told me the same owner operates both businesses and said she would pass the feedback along. I don't know whether that conversation ever reached the owner, but it encouraged me to finally share my experience publicly. It's unfortunate because the food, drinks, and atmosphere were enjoyable. However, no customer should be confronted at the door or made to feel embarrassed over what was, in fact, an 18% tip. A single interaction can outweigh an otherwise good meal, and unfortunately, that's exactly what happened here.

We came here on a whim after spending the day in the area and we are already talking about coming back to the area, just to eat here. The front of the restaurant could not be prettier, with beautiful decor and torches just beckoning you in. We were immediately greeted by the friendliest hostess and seated in one of their beautiful dining rooms. Their cocktail menu is not something to pass on! I saw that they had an espresso martini on the menu and I asked if they could make it a decaf (if not I gave our server a plan b cocktail). Not only did they deliver (a delicious) decaf espresso martini but they were so enthusiastic about all of their coffee choices! My husband had the Gucci 52 (I of course had a couple of sips) and it was superb. Better than many of the cocktails I have had in several NYC Greek restaurants and so much more creative! Now for the food! We shared the sweet potato hummus, duck kokkinisto and grape leaves stuffed with tuna. I have never seen any of those items on any Greek menu before and duck is one of my favorites! They were all 10/10. The flavors could not be beat and the portions and presentation were all so generous and thoughtful. After experiencing their cocktails and dinner we knew we couldn't skimp on dessert. We shared the custard stuffed phyllo and OH MY GOSH. If you're too full for dessert, make room! Lastly but certainly not least, the servers deserve their own paragraph. We were simply blown away by the professionalism, kindness and passion from our server and other server's we interacted with. We felt so taken care of. We were given our bag of leftovers at the very end of our meal, which is such a nice touch. This level of service is not something you see everyday. Professional but warm, not stuck up, efficient but does not make you feel rushed. This area is worth visiting if only to come here! Thank you for making our experience so memorable.

Babis was fantastic: personable, fun, attentive, and his recommendations were spot on. The meal was outstanding. The tender baby calamari was delicious, the pita bread was unbelievably light and cloud-like, and paired perfectly with the authentic tzatziki. Our short ribs and halibut were both exceptional. They also have a wonderful selection of creative non-alcoholic cocktails (pictured), and even the signature House of Stefas ice cubes were a fun detail. We finished with an espresso and cappuccino.. the perfect ending. Another fun surprise: the imported swan faucets in the restrooms. They're a rare and memorable touch. We will definitely be back.

We did send it back and they gave us new bread in that style, which was still not good then while we were there, an older employee woman?, was talking loudly and disrespectfully to the workers, and made for a awkward dining experience. In addition, you have to pay for salad when you buy a meal. I don't think I've ever been in a good Italian restaurant where the salad didn't come with the meal. Again, I'm gonna say that the plates that my wife and I had the baked ziti the chicken Parm the manicotti in my opinion were excellent and this probably won't deter us from dining there, but thus far we have found a few good Italian restaurants, so we might pass this one up for a place that has better bread. We always try to support local and this review by no means is to put down this establishment, but to hopefully make them aware that good Italian bread matters at a good Italian restaurant. It is lined up right in Main Street with other smaller restaurants and bars. This was one of my favorite cheap eateries in the town while I was in college. I have been here twice since for happy hour specials. I ordered the chicken wings and the shrimp tacos. The drinks were around $5 which is a steal compared to New York City prices. In the past they used to offer a large fishbowl drink for your birthday. It was huge and took several people to drink it. Currently it is the size of a large cup as you can see in the picture. It does the job but it is much smaller than what it was in 2010. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I usually sit at the bar which is a great place to meet others and watch the game. Everyone usually comes in for drinks and a quick meal. There are large tables for families to come in and spread out. Everyone was nice here. I plan to come back soon and take advantage of the happy hour specials again.
