I was craving something hearty and healthy so naturally, I went for the pearly bowl which originally comes with couscous, roasted cauliflower, golden raisins (trust me these add THEEEE touch), pickled red onions (YUM), tahini sauce, avocado, and a lemon-mint vinaigrette - THISSSSSS. I ended up substituting the couscous for quinoa which was perfect for the type of meal I wanted before traveling. Can we talk about that lemon-mint vinaigrette? It's perfectly green and brings the whole bowl together, SO GOOD. Wish I would've gotten a whole side of that. Ordering delivery through Yelp is so easy thanks to DoorDash and I was so thankful I didn't have to be stuck eating chips and m&ms - love these but I needed a little something more. Next time you're taking a flight from Newburgh airport be sure to get delivery from Ms Fairfax. Can't wait to try their crepes and green goddess wrap from their breakfast and lunch menu!

Street parking available, as well as a municipal lot around the corner. Near a historic site to check out as well, Washington Headquarters. They also have a cute table in the front outside as well. I sat in the backyard while I waited for my friend to arrive. The establishment has a chill summer vibe. All the staff were friendly & attentive. The special was the red snapper & OMG, they need to just put it on the menu! It was delicious, fried to perfection & had alot of meat. I am not a hummus fan but the appetizer my friend orderd-the hummus was tasty.

It's a very cute restaurant located right next to the theater in downtown. The menu is overall pretty simple, but I think they do classic American food pretty well. I really enjoyed the shrimp patty burger I got last time, which was a lot heftier than I expected! The meal probably won't be revolutionary, but a very solid spot for the area and very convenient if you're watching a movie before/after. Food came out relatively quick! The concept is so unique, the prices are incredibly affordable, and I genuinely have yet to try something I didn't like. The tacos are SO good, and I love that you can order a few things at a time and keep adding more as you go. The first time we came, we ordered conservatively, realized how good everything was, and immediately had to order more! Everything was so flavorful, and it's the kind of place where you want to keep trying different things. The service was always good, too. It's usually moderately busy, but I never had to wait for a table, which makes the experience even better. Plus, it's right next to the water! Bonus points for the location and the overall atmosphere. Honestly, I miss this spot! I have absolutely no excuse to go back to Newburgh these days, but every once in a while, I find myself thinking about these tacos. That alone says a lot. If you're in the area, definitely give Hudson Taco a try!

People in the area clearly knew that this was the place to be and I felt lucky to be able to get a table right away! To be honest, I was still pretty full from breakfast that day so I wasn't able to truly enjoy as much as I'd have liked to, but between my husband and I we got 2 of the mushroom & shishito tacos, he got the cauliflower taco, and we shared the mushroom taquitos and a small guacamole and chips. This was the perfect amount for us as we needed what was basically a snack then. I wish I had more room to stuff in another mushroom & shishito taco because it was pretty darn phenomenal. The restaurant was on the water and the view was pretty phenomenal as well. You could tell it was a big draw for the restaurant itself and I hope to be back one day!

The negatives- we ordered lobster bisque, clam chowder, chicken paillard, spaghetti carbonate and Creamed spinach. We have eaten these same dishes at other restaurants. Here, NOTHING tasted as it should. Absolutely nothing. The food was bland and under salted. Lobster was absent from bisque. A single pulverized clam or two showed up in the chowder. I tried to help my spaghetti by emptying almost the entire jar of grated Parmesan on it to no avail. Even with the little bits of what I hope was pancetta, the dish had zero flavor. The mashed potatoes accompanying the chicken paillard were from.a box. We were starving but after a few mouthfuls, we gave up and decided to return to our lodging and eat some potato chips. To add insult to injury, they tack on a fee if you pay with a card. So for this culinary disaster we threw down a $100 bill and beat a hasty retreat. One and done.

Between the delicious food, outstanding service, and breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, it's always a great experience. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The servers know the menu well and are happy to make recommendations, making every visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. One of our favorite times to visit is for their weekend brunch buffet, which offers a great variety of options. During the week, their Happy Hour (4-7 PM) is another favorite, especially the $1 oysters. It gets busy, so I definitely recommend arriving early. Just keep in mind that Happy Hour is available only in the bar and lounge area. The restaurant is clean, has a spacious parking lot shared with the neighboring restaurant, and offers a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the river during the warmer months. The patio closes for the winter, but it's one of the best places to dine when the weather is nice. They also have a kids' menu, although my 6-year-old usually orders from the regular menu because she has a very adventurous palate. If you're looking for great seafood, excellent service, gorgeous waterfront views, and one of the best dining experiences in Newburgh, Blu Pointe is an easy recommendation. We went for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how attentive the service was. The setting alone is quiet, scenic, and relaxing, adding to the experience feeling special. We're particular about cocktails, and the specialty drinks leaned a bit sweet and light for our taste, but switching to a Grey Goose martini solved that quickly. The standout of the meal was the special appetizer, the Lobster Escargot. Between the bread service and the rich, bisque-like sauce layered over the classic preparation, I could have happily ended the meal right there. We left no trace behind. I followed with the crab cake and wedge salad. The crab cake was generously sized, very fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. My husband ordered the branzino, which was absolute perfection, beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The sides, however, were less memorable; the smashed potatoes and green beans felt under-seasoned and a bit boring compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely anniversary lunch with memorable dishes and a beautiful view.

Cool Place, Tasty Cocktails, But Watch the Pricing!…read more Liquid Fables in Beacon is a cool spot with a great atmosphere and tasty cocktails. Unfortunately, the tasting experience left a bad taste Charging $12 for a 6 oz. tasting when a full can sells for $5.50 already feels steep. But then offering ice, which takes up a significant portion of that already small pour, makes it feel like a bit of a gotcha. I understand businesses need to make money, but when you're paying for a tasting, you expect to actually taste the product--not have a good portion of your serving taken up by ice. It left me feeling like the pricing was designed to capitalize on tourists passing through town rather than provide a great customer experience.

This place is different than other axe places because they have a variety of games that you can play (similar to bejeweled, tic tac toe, wheel of fortune, uploading a picture of something or someone you want to throw an axe on, etc). They have two different weights in axes. You can choose an hour ($25 pp) or two. We didn't have to reserve in advance but if you do there's a deposit. The place looked very dim from the outside but you can either park in the back or in front of some other stores in the front. There's a pool and video game area in the back but it was inhabited by a group of dudes and seemed a bit dated in there. The main strip is pretty busy with a lot of chain stores and restaurants.
