I'm not quite sure why the reviews here on Yelp are so poor. I'd use it to your advantage because it's so far from reality. The Storyteller is a legit farm to table restaurant with amazing service. Jolyn couldn't have been more attentive and she made sure she was always checking in on us. She had great recommendations and was an awesome server. Our food was delicious and super fresh. All of the ingredients were so fresh and there are even students from the CIA across the street working in the kitchen. My seasonal salad was really good - loved the poppy seed dressing ! My salmon entree was cooked to perfection too. My husband had the caesar salad with a burger patty on top and he loved it. The unassuming Apple Crisp dessert was worth the calories. Sorry no photo ... it disappeared real fast! All and all, don't sleep on The Storyteller restaurant. It's located off the lobby area of the Inn at Bellefield.

Love Matt, the bartender. It's a secret home away from home in the neighborhood. Drinks are fabulous - many of which are Matt's recipes. For a hotel bar, this is one of my favorite getaways. Food is great quality, with a culinary chef and ambiance is always comfortable with an infusion of stayers and a sprinkling of locals.

A random road-trip stop at Shadows turned into one of the greatest dining experiences of our lives…read more We just wanted a solid meal with a river view after a long day on the highway. Instead, we found a culinary gem. The space is spectacular -- bright, open, and surrounded by relaxing river ambiance. We began our evening on the outdoor balcony, but a sudden thunderstorm dropped a tsunami of rain prompting a quick relocation into the equally welcoming main dining room. Our waiter, a charming young man from Hungary, gave us an excellent primer on the menu, which expertly balanced accessible staples with high-end luxury (creeping all the way up to an eye-popping $155 Wagyu steak special -- there were only 15 servings available for the night we later found out). As Port lovers, we were floored by the beverage options. Living outside of Philadelphia, we're used to restaurants offering one or two uninspired Tawnys. Shadows boasts an embarrassment of riches. Our waiter candidly confessed Port wasn't his forte and quickly dispatched the sommelier, Enrique. The fluid, passionate back-and-forth that followed was incredible; we learned more about wine in five minutes with Enrique than in decades of traveling. We gladly handed him the steering wheel for the rest of the night. Because we were celebrating my birthday, we went all in. My wife crossed caviar off her bucket list and tried the delectable octopus -- a substantial steak rather than the usual fried bits at most establishments. After some enabling from my wife, I went temporarily insane and ordered the Wagyu. As frequent diners, it was the priciest plate I've ever ordered, and it was worth every single penny. From the kitchen's flawless execution to exceptional hospitality that extended from the GM to the bus staff, the evening was perfect. Yes, we dropped a small fortune, but entirely by choice -- the menu accommodates nearly all budgets. We left feeling like we made out like bandits because the memories were priceless. Several times during dinner I literally felt envious of the locals. I hope they realize what a treasure they have in their midst.

I found mixed results with the food. The flatbread appetizer and cheesecake dessert was very good. I ordered steak as my entree and the server asked if I wanted it cooked rare, medium, or well done. I asked for medium rare and she said they couldn't do that. What kind of high end restaurant can't cook a steak medium rare? I found the cut I received to be way too overcooked. If you're looking for a place with a great view, stop by. Just don't order steak.

I love this place!…read more We came here for a comedy show on Saturday and decided to try some of their food. I went with the Shrimp cocktail and the shrimp used were just perfect! I am always scared when ordering shrimp cocktail due to the fact some establishments use crap grade shrimp, well not this place, they were spectacular. I believe many of the chefs I read graduated from the Culinary Institute of America which is located extremely close to this restaurant, and this could be part of the reason why their food game is on point. My girlfriend got the beef stew, and they gave ample portions of meat with delicious gravy and the mashed potatoes were nothing to sneeze at either. I got a couple Jack and Diet's and the upcharge for a double is not that bad, at the time of writing this I believe it is a four-dollar upcharge. Also got a merlot and it was fresh and delightful. If I lived closer to this place, I would be here all the time. There are several colleges near here, so I assume the vibe is great as well if you are looking to come and have a good time. The train station literally shares there parking lot so if you plan on partaking in a good time with drinks and spirits it would be a good idea to just train it over. As always people SYOY, and if you live even remotely close to Mahoney's, visit often for me! Cheers!!

Just saw this restaurant and wanted to check it out. Turns out to be a hookah lounge/gastropub…read more Loved the ambiance and setup/decorations. Food was fabulous. The chef is a soon to be CIA grad that is making the school proud. Chicken and waffles were done perfectly and the barbeque burger was seasoned in house. Would have preferred something besides celery with this, though, but the burger was really tasty. Definitely for the younger crowd, as is evident by their drink selection. But go for the food. And bring ear plugs.

Decided to check this place out for the first time last night. Walked in and in and first thoughts…read moreare "it's beautiful in here." There were people smoking hookah and just chillin. There are just a couple of things I would want the owner/management team to be mindful of. First, for a run and coke it's like $10.50 which price wise I think is a little high, but that's not what made me annoyed-the cup that my drink was handed to me in was the same cup I rinse my mouth out with at the dentists office. I've never seen such a small cup. Buffalo Wild Wings gives you a large glass for $8. So they definitely overcharge for the size of the drink. Second, I walked into the bathroom and there was a napkin floating in the toilet-ok, maybe someone dropped it accidentally. I sit down and all I smell is urine and come to find out, management must have decided that instead of going to the store quick and buying toilet paper, they'd put napkins in the women's bathroom and the women were using the napkins and throwing them in the garbage which was why the whole room smelled of urine. The toilet was clogged and almost overflowed. I told the guy who I assumed was the owner, and he said he knew and acted as if he didn't care. Probably because they were all high. Literally all they need to do is put a smaller trash can in that little bathroom, plunge the toilet so it works, ensure there's toilet paper and go to the dollar store to get some glassware for your bar. I get it's a new business, but spending $50 so you can have 50 glasses would create a better experience. If they can get it together, I'd consider going back.
