This place is great. We just got back from a trip to Costa Rica, and had to drive back to Austin because we flew from Houston to save a few hundred dollars. We were very thirsty and since everything looked so good, we got several different drinks. They were all delicious but we drank so much we could barely move. I've been meaning to try this place out and tonight I'm so glad I finally did! I had the Almond Milk Tea, which is my usual go to drink besides the Thai Tea and I was definitely not disappointed! It was not overly sweet and the tapioca was soft and chewy like others are saying on here. Boyfriend got the green tea with peach flavoring, tasted it, and omg- my taste buds exploded. I usually go to tea houses in South Houston but this place was better than those I've tried. It wasn't crowded, got serviced right away, not to mention the guy that helped us was super nice and attentive. I think he was the owner. The interior was really nice and CLEAN. I used to be a big fan of The Teahouse until I started getting my boba fix here. I'm not sure if the guy who always takes my order is the owner, but he is extremely nice all the time. I always get phenomenal customer service at this particular location --- not that I've ever been to the other ones to really know. My favorite is the Almond Milk Tea with tapioca. The tapioca balls are very fresh and chewy, not frozen and hard like some of the other boba places around town. Five stars! read more

I love this location Bambu! It is the only one I go to even though there is a nearer location on 249. I'd rather drive out here for the consistently good customer service. Besides, this location is bigger, nicer and doesn't close 15 minutes early on their customers. A kolache and a milk tea makes for a happy commute to work. Thumbs up! read more

Overall, the drinks were good. They definitely didn't disappoint, but the drinks were all the same size and were a bit overpriced (12 fl. oz. for $4) compared to other boba places I've been to. I got a milk tea, and it was good but they filled the cup up with so much ice that I couldn't even get to all of the boba at the bottom. I finished my drink really fast because there wasn't really much to drink-there was just so much ice. Cute atmosphere for a date though. Serves traditional Vietnamese desserts called che. It takes some getting used to. They also serve hot or cold java drinks, as well as other frozen drink selections. You can get a loyalty stamp card to work toward a free dessert or drink. The guy (owner?) at the counter is pretty nice, my family of 10 and I came in pretty close to closing time and he stayed late to serve us, it was much appreciated. (We just finished having a big family dinner next door and really wanted something for dessert.) Yes, it is a bit in the ghetto but if you grew up in this neighborhood, or something similar, it's no big deal. But if it worries you, go during daylight hours. Lol. I recommend... everything. If I had to narrow it down I'd say the #1 or #10 dessert... If it's hot out, ask for extra ice, mix it well. Interior decor wise - it's clean, I love the acrylic & pebble table tops. I came here with pretty high expectations, and they were definitely met. I got a typical kind of drink you would get from a boba place (Thai tea with tapioca) as well as the special type of dessert they offer at Bambu, which is basically che (Vietnamese dessert) you can drink through a straw. Both were very high quality! The tapioca balls in my Thai tea were basically made to perfection, and this tends to be the reason for why I might dislike a teahouse. The dessert (#1, Bambu Special) was so unique for a teahouse and so yummy. I'm really happy they opened this near my house and I'll be coming back for more. read more
